When you said “I felt so deeply for these characters that simply seeing them on a screen made me happier than most other things could” and your point on what you were experiencing was so incredible that it had to be the peak only for Oda to somehow surpass that peak are two things that I believe coincide with one another. If just watching the characters on screen has the capabilities of bringing you joy beyond anything else, then the peaks are going to feel the greatest moments ever. The deeper the connection to the characters, the more hyped, emotional and satisfying those legendary moments are going to be and that's exactly how it is. Truly the greatest!

And watching brooks crew sing one last song as everyone starts to drop while Brook keeps smiling made me burst out into tears. I felt what I needed to feel, and saw myself the same. Smiling and laughing to hide the fact I was alone. And then life goes on and you learn that with loss, comes more discovery. I wish others would give it a try cus it really is my favorite, and I feel like it could be alot of peoples favorites as well.

If anyone wants to sail the seas with Luffy you will definitely not regret it. I for sure haven't. I remember binge watching so many episodes during my student days. I remember the first time I heard about One Piece I thought to myself "I don't want to watch a show about pirates." but now I've been into it for almost 20 years. I guess people don't give it a chance because it looks goofy and don't notice how it talks about subjects like racism, slavery, who decides what's right and wrong, and what family is. I was recently thinking about just how brilliantly the Baratie arc was written, specifically, the Sanji and Zeff flashback. Within such a short amount of time, you perfectly learn what makes Sanji and Zeff tick, what their relationship with each other and the restaurant is and why seeing someone starve means a whole lot more to them than to the average citizen of the world of One Piece. Add to that the beautifully cruel irony of sitting on a pile of treasure yet still going hungry and Zeff words about how many people must have died cursing that see - if only there was a restaurant there. Chef's kiss, Oda-sensei !

One Piece is extremely special to me too. It's eclipsed every story in my eyes. I discovered One Piece during a very difficult time in my life. I was at my lowest point for a little over a year. Then I decided to give it a try. And to say it helped me through this depressing fog I was in would be a massive understatement. I fell in love with it pretty fast cause of well everything! The world, characters, plot, intersecting storylines, themes, and fights. It made me laugh, hyped me the hell up, made me cry, and most importantly come to terms with some very personal things. The care and love Oda puts into One Piece is nothing short of awe inspiring. I felt like I was peaking into a world that not only felt alive but beautiful. It became my escape and refuge. Getting to experience this story has been nothing short of amazing. I know it sounds corny but it really helped me and I'll forever be grateful to Oda (or rather Goda since he's the GOAT) for creating this masterpiece. One Piece is peak fiction and I'll die on this hill.

I think Luffy's goal isn't necessarily put on the back burner. The crew is always headed to that goal. What changes is our (readers/watchers) understanding of what it means for Luffy to become Pirate King. The goal remains the same and always there, but the journey constantly reveals new details about the goal. Such as those with D in their name are destined to challenge the World Government, anyone who reaches Laugh Tale will most likely learn the mystery of the Void Century, the World Government FEARS someone reaching Laugh Tale again, etc.

Among a lot of edgy or dark anime/media. Onepiece was a breath of fresh air for me all the way from episode 1. Luffy was just this dude in peasant clothes who just goes on a random ass ship in the east blue. He is willing to die for his unlikely goal even if he might not succeed. Hes almost always smiling no matter what shit goes down.
As a baseline I find that really beautiful. Onepiece is grand wide complex world that's built with kidlike creativity.
I highly recommend it to put yourself in a positive mood. It certainly did that for me.

People can say what they want about anything else on planet earth but how I truly feel about one piece is it’s the greatest fictional adventure I’ve ever experienced! Luffy really inspires me to be a king in my own life and to also be completely transparent which is the most difficult part for me, I feel he really teaches you how to embody being a true pure soul and to never live life with any regrets or doubts. We should all strive for true freedom like he does 🙏🏽🏴‍☠️

one piece was the first anime that i've seen, i only knew how luffy looked like and that's all about it. until i caught up in the story i wasn't spoiled or anything it took me 4 months to watch 1000 episodes and it was the best feeling ever. cannot wait to see the end of the story since we are somewhat close to it. after i watched one piece i started watching jojo and dragon ball, also very good animes. luffy changed my life and how i see things, he made me thinking how life was beautiful and my mind became so free and careless like a bird, just like him, that's why i love one piece and it will stay in my heart.

Can't agree any more of what you and everyone in the comment section has said. I was a kid in 1999 when I started to watching, on and off while it was shown on TV, and then full time later on after that. This is the one story that has grown up with me and shaped me to be the man I am today. A well done video. I hope more get to see this so perhaps they too can give this amazing adventure a chance as well.

My experience with One Piece is my cousins telling me that I should stay away because it's too long, and hearing everyone who's seen the series, including one of my college roommates, telling me that it's absolutely incredible. One day, near the end of 2022, I decided to go through a bunch of popular series and watch the first one or 2 episodes to see which ones I was most interested in watching, but One Piece caught my attention so fast that I ended up watching 8 episodes at first.
It was one of the two series that I continued to watch for a while afterwards. (I plan on going back to watch them all eventually) I got through the first 98 episodes very quickly, but then I took a break to study for college exams, then at the end of December I lept back into the series and by the end of January I was in Dressrosa. Once I got to Water 7, the episodes just started flying by, and while Thriller Bark was a bit annoying at times, it still had some cool moments. It was while I was in Dressrosa that I did start getting tired of the series because the pacing was becoming a much more prevalent issue, but I just made sure to take a couple breaks from the series every now and again and by the end of February I was all caught up with the anime, and read ahead in the manga.

I grew up watching dragon ball every Saturday on cw33 or Cartoon Network but I wish I had grown up with one piece as it taught me way more than what my parents ever did (I am grateful they provided food and housing they were just absent emotionally) but watching one piece I ended hating on Zoro like why was he so irritating to me like he’s strong and cool but why does he irritate me and then it hit me that I was a lot like Zoro ambitious and hardworking towards my goal and I even switching out some old katanas for new ones ( me getting new racquets) but now Zoro has helped me appreciate who I was and who I’ve aimed to be. I now see Zoro as the main person I value very much next to luffy and ace

This video hit the feels for me and perfectly encapsulates my feelings with One Piece. I started the anime last summer and sped run through it as I was a low point in my life and had nothing else to look forward to. I was instantly hooked and genuinely fell in love with the world Oda has created. Now I am a weekly manga reader and can’t wait for that big moment to be animated! (manga readers know what I’m talking about) It is amazing that Oda has created such a masterpiece of a story that has hit new highs 25 years later. So happy to share this journey with you all and hopeful to be alive to witness Luffy becoming the Pirate King ❤!

I'll be honest, this video really triggered something in me. I watched one piece as a little kid but always "unconsciously". I didn't know that this anime was directly called one piece. And in October 2021 I decided to watch this masterpiece consciously. I am so glad that I made this decision. This anime, as you said, also changed my life. When I was feeling bad and pretty much at the end, I just watched the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates and was so happy. Ruffy/Luffy is definitely my favourite character in the anime. I have taken him so much to my heart. His character is really unique. When he laughed, I had to laugh too. When he cried, I often did too. I really felt for him. Of course, the other straw hats are also very good. For example, I think Franky and ussop are pretty funny too. And we don't even need to talk about Zorro and sanji. They are the best love-hate duo. I will never forget this anime, as strange as that sounds. But if an anime was really there for you, where almost no one took your problems seriously, I think that's totally understandable. Just to experience the journey of the Straw Hat Pirates is worth so much. And what I find almost the best about one piece is this incredibly strong bond of friendship between the crew of Ruffy/Luffy. I mean, the bullshit between them and all those scenes where they just stick together no matter what. No matter what opponent is in front of them, they always say the same thing. "RUFFY/LUFFY WILL BE KING OF THE PIRATES"! I think that's so loyal and just honourable. I would really like to see this kind of cohesion in the real world, even among friends. I could go on and on but I don't even know if anyone reads this far.
I'm really glad I started and I can't say it often enough. Because it really strengthened and cheered me up when I was really at the end.
Thank you Oda for this honour.
One piece is, in my opinion, by far the best story ever written. ABSOLUTELY UNIQUE MASTERWORK and will forever have a very special place in my heart! This Anime really changed my life!

Safeness, pain, loss, joy, terror, triumph and everything else in between. Not to forget giving time to just enjoy the characters on their day to day things. Not only that but it expresses it in such a meaningful way.
