About Big Mom being fat now. She can easily go back to being skinny like in her youth if she stops eating literal tons of candy every day. Like she must have lost tons of fat from just chasing the straw hats, and that was just a few hours. Her metabolism is insane, it's just that now she has people that bring her food from all of her territories

Hell, she became a Yonko and fought several strong people while being continuously pregnant for something like 40 years and that's not even considering how most of her kids are twins/triplets/decuplets. Considering her body gets weakened when she takes mental damage I’d say it’s not her body that’s naturally super durable but she’s always had a very high natural affinity for armor haki ever since a young age. That’s the only explanation I can think of for her being vulnerable when losing focus

Big mom might be an amalgamation of several different races throughout her lineage and their traits just perfectly matched up in her body. Might also explain why she wants all races in her family even more.

In nature there's always a chance that an organism will be born with some mutation which could make them very different form their parents and the one piece world is full of crazy creatures so I could totally see someone like Big Mom being born through pure random chance

Yeah I think in my opinion Big Mom was stronger than Oden in the younger years. Oden intended to kill so he has motivation to lift that boulder and Big Mom on the other hand she kills bear, breaks giants unconsciously meaning she only put little effort on doing those action.

Nomis Kira the only thing I could give Zoro is him being the Vice Captain but too many fans try justifying it by saying “Lol he’s the Rayleigh to Luffy’s Roger” which is a comparison I absolutely hate. Could Blackbeard be Kaido and Big Mom’s kid? Both him and Big Mom have been said to have “weird bodies.” They could have had him while on Rocks’s crew, Blackbeard’s 40 and the God Valley incident took place 38 years ago, making him 2 at the time. So maybe he was born on their ship, and they thought he died during the fight, but he survived. Maybe due to something with Rocks. Could also explain the drawing Oda did of a young Blackbeard crying. He looks a little big to be 2 but Big Mom was huge so. Or it could also be a couple years later, and he’s crying because he’s alone on a wiped out island

Maybe just like there was sparking around the Clashing between White beard and Roger's weapons, and how there is advanced armament that penetrates and damages from the inside, maybe there is a defensive armament that is like a thin outer layer of invisible haki that is like a sheet of rubber, if you do enough damage it allows you to touch the skin of the opponent. If advanced offensive haki allows the attack on the inside, advanced defensive haki allows for a shell on top of the black haki which can be constantly emanated once you unlock it. It's possible that similar to how conquers can't be unlocked, certain types of haki can only be unlocked by certain people, and Big Mom has an affinity towards this type of haki
Closest thing to it seems to be the Iron Body technique? But even that doesn't have the elastic properties
I always just assumed her body was unusually durable due to Haki, which is why mother caramel's picture breaking left her vulnerable, since her will was momentarily broken.
I like to think that Oda had videos like this in mind when he wrote Big Mom in originally.
If this power comes from her lineage, why does her lineage suddenly quit when she gets upset? That makes no sense.
Seem to me, this is just advanced Armament Haki. She's just covering her entire body with that invisible armor, and it just so happens that her level of Haki is so high that she can keep it up constantly.

Honestly for the world of One Piece, being technologically advanced pre void century makes sense because it would mean that there are remains of the past technology for someone like Vegapunk to study and experiment. For example his technology is said to be 500+ years ahead of its time, well what if that quote "ahead of its time" alludes to already existing technology that got vanished during the void century, and that via analysis of the components/elements of the "remains" and of the devil fruits themselves he discovered some things that only he and maybe a select few (Im being one of those) knows or understand.

My theory is that Big Mom constantly has a light version of armament (the non-black hardening form) active at all times, and it's strong enough to repel something like Brook's sword, but not enough to block a kong gun (hence she used hardening against Luffy).This explains why she can only be harmed while in emotional distress.
My theory is that just like there are specialties between Conquerers observation and Armament haki, there are further specialties within Armament itself, and just like you can't unlock Conquerers there are certain types of advanced armament that only some people can unlock. Maybe Big Mom's specialty is defense, and she has a thin layer of barrier like haki hovers right above her skin, that's kind of rubbery, so she only has to use black Armament when that barrier sheet is breached. When you stop attacking the haki reforms. That reminds me of the bubbles used to coat ships.

About her body, maybe she has natural subconscious armament haki? When she unleashes her conqueror's haki when the photo is broken, that's when she drops all the armament and turns all the power to conqueror's, that's why she bleeds?
Also, she can go slim if she hasn't eaten for a while, Perospero or Smoothie said they haven't seen Big Mom like this in a while when she was attacking the Sunny.

I mean, Brook did this very same attack pre-timeskip and it went right through Oars, and here post-timeskip it doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of the cornified layer of Big Mom's epidermis 😂

I think begie discuss it why big mom skin is iron ballon because of her haki. Remember when big mom was confuse and her haki become erratic and she kneel down. Her knee bleed. Which mean her haki is the reason why brook couldn't puncture her

I would guess it has something to do with conquerors haki. Which is why when her will is broken, she becomes vulnerable. It could even be something similar to making a black blade. How the blade permanently imbued with haki. Kaido and big mom may have done the same thing to their body and it’s always coated in haki, even without them actively doing it. Would also explain how they are the few that seem to have this ability, Mihawk is the only one we know with a black blade, so doing this sort of thing isn’t something anyone can do. But the issue with this happening to one’s body is that since haki is your will, having a mental break, or loss of Will would cause your body to become vulnerable.
Also, big mom’s feat is better, she could also lift a Boulder big enough to crush a bear, I would guess, and oden felt the need to use a boulder rather than his hands? Easy big mom win there.
