Wow...this is my first time hearing this song. It cuts kinda deep for me because I grew up feeling the same way. I never felt important to my parents...or anyone else for that matter. At 41 I still find myself feeling the same way at times. Anyway, I liked the song a lot.
I can relate. My dad use to kick my ass a lot when I was a kids. This song helped me so much when i was going through a rough time. It doesn't matter how bad you are someone likes you. Look at Hitler or Osama Bin Laden, they were monsters but people liked them. You can be your own worst enemy. I can probably guarantee that you're not as bad as you think you are.
Aaron Lewis...the lead singer of awesome!! Now on his own doing Country! Still as good!! I love his stories behind his songs!! He's a great live performer too! Thank you for playing this song....he does have a large catalog of songs...if, you'd like to check them out!!
My daughter's friend made me a CD when he heard I liked them. I miss that kid.lost him in Afghanistan. He played the drums and had a gentle soul so I know he's up there
Aaron wrote 99% of every song that Staind performs. They are all based on his life and what he is going through at the time or has gone through. My favorite singer and song writer, he's helped me through a lot in my own life. Again, thanks for playing, Ty!
Awesome reaction, always loved Staind, they stood apart to me at time. I have a deep song I think is underrated by 80s band WHITE LION...when the children cry. Great message I think a lot of ppl missed in those days. Thank you.
For a heart wrenching vocal performance, I would love to see you do Journey's " Mother , Father." Steve Perry is known as "the Voice" and for good reason. He has one of the largest usable vocal ranges in rock, but it's his soulful inflections that makes it work. He grew up singing in his church choir, and his favorite singer was Otis Redding, and it's reflected in his vocal style. In this song, he is singing about his home life as a child, and the struggles of the family. The story is that in the studio, he was in tears as he sang it, and that emotional performance led to an improvised lead guitar solo that still is one of the most heart felt solos recorded. There are better technical solos, better blues style ones, but for fitting the song, and the feeling of the story, there's very few than come close, the guitar just cries along with the protagonist of the story, and reflects perfectly the anguish and frustration in the young boy's mind. If you do it , the best live version I've seen is the one labeled " Mother, Father " Journey, Live in Houston 1981. I promise you that you won't be disappointed. God bless you and I hope that you and yours had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I've seen Staind in concert a few times. Aaron Lewis always brings it home. The do a song called Layne. It's about the loss of Alice in Chains lead singer Layne Staley. Great tribute to his memory
I don't think there is a song that fits me better than this one. For me its like talking to my parents, who pretty much ignored me my whole life unless they wanted something from me. Just want to say stuffing the pain and loneliness will only lead to more down the road. Talk to anyone.
If there were ever an album that perfectly captured my teenage angst, it's this one. It's been forever since I've heard it. I would love for you to review Make it Stop (September's Children), or survivor's guilt. Both songs are from the band Rise Against.
Aaronn Lewis - Endless Summer For a completely different and lighter side of the lead singer if Staind, check out this song. It's a song about enjoying time with his daughters.
If you do know his voice from hearing it it's probably from So Far Away it was a very popular song thry actually play it at the grocery store...they won't play his other songs there lol
Aaron Lewis's voice is incredible and Staind was one of the first bands that I really connected with in HS. You should try checking out some of his solo stuff cause he went a totally different direction and sings country music too.

I love how you always get to the heart of the songs and find hope even when there seems to be none. You are a true inspiration.
Aaron Lewis now makes country music. As far as country music nowadays goes, he's actually decent with it
