  • This is it! We are finally moving into the arc we were all waiting for, and right from the opening credits it feels more like a movie. I can't even describe how excited I am right now!
Remember this is not a substitute for watching the actual show. If you haven't seen it, please do so (available on Disney+) and then come back to the video afterwards.

If the rest of this arc is anywhere near this good, it will surpass all of the movies for me, even the top ones. It already feels like a movie, the animation is crisp af (Grievous in that split-second looks better than ever), the music is top notch, the action and fights are great, everything is amazing. This is Star Wars at its best. Also, this became the highest-rated episode in the series at 9.8 in IMDB.
I suggest you watch it again, this episode has a ton of nods and parallels to the rest of the franchise, from TCW movie, to Rebels, even to TLJ, it's great.
The only thing I would have changed is Ahsoka being so distant to Anakin, I was waiting for a happier reunion, a hug, a "Snips", but I'm sure Dave had his reasons. In the end it's more realistic because they didn't know it would be their last time together, it's heartbreaking.

    • @KatSonny

I watched it again a couple of times while editing, and I noticed a lot of those references, even a bunch from the clone wars movie 😅

Swirox “they didn’t know it would be their last time together” that’s the reason we didn’t get a farewell scene, because after they cought Maul, they were supposed to return to Coruscant again. It’s sad that they didn’t had more time, not to mention Vader’s first words to Ahsoka in the twilight of the apprentice “Our long awaited meeting has come at last” connects perfectly with Ahsoka’s “We’ll have to catch up later”.

    • @michelmorio8026

Chris C Anakin‘s training was flawed from the beginning, which is why Obi-Wan like the council was against it, the boy was already too old and emotional in decision making!
It was only due to a feeling of owning a dying Qui-Gon that he did it!
And Qui-Gon wasn‘t the ‚perfect‘ Jedi, rather the most balanced force user that given his Vita happened to be part of the Jedi Order.
But the Jedi, as the Sith, are mainly extremists in using one side of the coin called THE FORCE... Qui-Gon was rather balanced... he was part of the Order and I love his character too and he is quite fascinating, but I wouldn‘t consider him a true Jedi; rather a force spiritualist

@@michelmorio8026 if qui gon trained Anakin I don't see him turning into Darth Vader . Obi wan was very much part of the crusty rigid Jedi order .
It's all in phantom menace, qui gons methods over the other Jedi. In the very first dialogue of Ep1 qui tells obi wan about living in the moment not looking into the future as Yoda instructs. To which Yoda then passes on to Luke in empire.
His methods were seen as wrong but ultimately he's methods were right . Per example Obi wan called both jar jar and Anakin pathetic lifeforms, perfect Jedi arrogance Yoda speaks of in ep2

Chris C Sweet and naive; the machinations and manipulations from Sidious would have still been there, his mother most likely still would have died and Padmé... it is called fate or ‚will of the force’ in Star Wars... he also got shown exactly that future when he was on Mortis; and he brought balance, as prophesied, between light side and dark side, he destroyed the Jedi and the Sith (well if you ignore some very bad 3rd trilogy 😂😉), every speculation what MIGHT or COULD HAVE happen is irrelevant, cause it fucking DIDN‘t HAPPEN, wasn‘t planned and is a waste of time

The first couple of arcs were decent enough Clone Wars. Now this, this is Star Wars! Full on action filled, emotional, intense Star Wars! It just looks so good, the action is insane, there are all the easter eggs and references and the score, omg! I can't wait for the rest.

It seems they put this together like a bookend feature film (with the Clone Wars feature that started the series). Hence the lack of end credits music. Essentially, all the episodes of this arc can be stitched together.
    That's my guess, anyway.

When Star Wars is at its best it truly is something magical and takes me back to when I was a child watching Star Wars for the very first time with my Dad. The music actually feels like Star Wars and not just something added for nostalgia. This four part arc is something I will be watching as one complete film and will be watching it before ROS. Thanks for the book recommendation!

the problem is that in this case she has no point. Like what's more important in their situation? Help the capital out since this battle could lead to the republic's defeat in the clone wars or help out Mandalore which doesn't help in the war effort at all therefore extending it and leading to more suffering on MUCH more planets than just Mandalore.

    • @joramsim
      @joramsim 4 роки тому

@@Marcel-vt2dj I think her point is, that ObiWan (and he knows this) isnt going there to help the people but the chancellor.
Also: Coruscant is not defenseless. Kenobi's and skywalkers fleet consists of what? 6 Venators at most?
I understand it that way, that they are just a small part of the defense and seeing how the Seperatist Forces are being totally outgunned by the Republic i really feel like Ahsoka is in the right when saying that they are needed more in other places :D

I think we already can say they brought their a-game for the finale 😍
Alone the style of the opening of the episode already appears as a series finale movie split into 4 episodes 👍🏻
And halfway through the episode is nostalgia, but from a good point of view, for Clone Wars AND Rebels watchers ☺️
And I can assure you, you’re not alone! Even my my eyes got wet and my sight blurry more than once in the first half of the episode 🥺 knowing what will happen AFTER these 4 Episodes to all our beloved characters... a reunion where you already know this will be the last time they will be happy together 😢
And all the talk about the Clones and their value of Loyalty and how the Jedi almost blindly trust and rely on them for this makes the plot with the biochips and Order 66 even more sinister and heart breaking... Obi-Wan again saving Cody... we knowing what will happen some scenes later in Revenge of the Sith 🙈
