I watched this with my 11 year old daughter. 💔we have cried together many nights because she does not want to got to school. My heart has never felt greater pain then hearing how broken these kids have left her. She has asked many times when it will end😭. I have many times prayed that I could take the hurt away. This truly gave us hope tonight. Tysm Emily! And last, from a heartbroken mommy, let's teach our children to be kind again. Please!
lorenah05 I wrote my story above, that I was also bullied in grade school and junior high. I also came home crying to my mom almost everyday. Just tell your daughter to hang in there because it will pass. It may seem like its everything right now, but as soon as she graduates from highschool, all of that stuff disappears. Nobody cares if you were popular in school. It becomes about who you are as a person and I'm sure your daughter is amazing! For me it got a lot better in highschool. I had a lot of friends and wasnt bullied anymore. I have a wonderful, successful life now, am married to an intelligent, thoughtful, handsome and caring man. I have a great job, and i still go see my parents often even though im 36 now. I wish i could tell my younger self that it's all going to be ok. That I was a good and valuable person and that in the long run none of what was happening to me would matter in the end. It's still not something I forget about, it was incredibly hard, but I just think about how much stronger I am now for going through it. And so is your daughter. I hope things get better for her soon. ☺💜 -Emily

lorenah05 Aww I'm so sorry to hear that. I remember not wanting to go to school because I felt so alone and didn't have any friends. Eventually I made friends but then in my freshman year of high school one of those friends cyberbullied me and it was a hard time. I just finished my junior year and the same girl who made me cry and hurt is now really sweet to me. We're no longer friends but we're still kind to each other. It does end, even if it feels like it never will. I will keep you guys in my prayers🙏🏼💓
It is funny that you mentioned being down to earth because I feel like you are one of the very very few you tubers that I feel is actually relatable and down to earth, which is why I have been subscribed for almost 5 years and will be subscribed for many more!

Random fact about me: I met my husband when I was 10. His family moved across the street from me after their house burned down. We became best friends and in high school we started dating. Then his family moved away so we broke up. After 2 years of not seeing him, we ran into each other and started dating again. We got married and now have 4 children. 21 years of history here!

You know with most youtubers lately I find myself getting annoyed. As soon as they start talking I click out of the video. I sit and think " I don't care about your weekend. How's the damn lipstick? Is it long lasting? Is the bronzer muddy?" And not because I'm being mean but because some of them are so....dull. So fake. So....valley girl. The squealing. The OMG. The on " on fleek" and " Bae" words. I'm not interested in who they are as a person whatsoever BECAUSE of who they portray on camera. I would never be friends with them I real life simply because I have nothing in common with them, other than makeup. And friendship is more than makeup. But with you....I LOVED this video. You are someone I can relate to. You are sweet, and genuine and down to earth. A lot of what you spoke about resonated with me. The junior high experience. The hot summer days of your childhood. I had such a wonderful childhood experience, and hearing you talk about yours gave me such a calming, nostalgic feeling. I like you. As a person. I don't care if you talk about your weekend for two hours, because I don't look at you as a reviewing machine here on UA-cam. I look at you as a human. A friend. Someone to look up to. My husband & I met when we were 8. Our parents were friends. We moved away & moved back senior year. We were in the same English class. We didn't realize who each other were. We started dating after we graduated & I went to his parents house. His dad recognized me then it all clicked. We've now been together 11 years and have 5 beautiful children. The best part is when our families get together. They've known each other so long it's like nothing has changed.

I only found your channel a couple of years ago or so. I don't quite remember how although I'm sure it was thru some review of something. The thing that made me keep coming back, is that I feel like you're like me. You're a mother, a woman in her 30s, you live a life outside of lights and flashing cameras, no trips to Paris or St Tropez for brands... You do this for your love of the art, and for your love of those of us who love you! I'm a 33 year old mom from Virginia who mostly is a stay at home mom. my random fact is that I have this BURNING drive to eventually master all DIY techniques. i've started with sewing in my freshman year of HS and now I'm in my 3rd college year I've just got into woodwork! i'm just UNCONTROLLABLY into making things. being in architecture does fuel it more, but being a "master maker" is a goal I will never reach but will forever chase after.

Yes that's exactly why I had applied for a job there!! I was sadly disappointed though to find out that not the ethical side was their number one priority, but sales, which is normal for any company, but I have never in my life worked for a company that has such an aggressive viewpoint about selling / approaching people, an approach I was not aware of existed. Was super surprised. Will make a video on this in a few months! :)

I loved this video!!!! So many things touched me. The bullying story, the migraines, but the thing I really adore is what you said about preferring deep interesting conversations over small talk. I feel like I was born for that. Having a deep and/or interesting conversation with someone just floats my boat. I'm not good at parties or big social gatherings, but put me in a group of my friends and I'm in my element. Or just one on one with any of my friends. Don't care, that is quality of life! Thanks for sharing and being vulnerable, and I actually have the best parents lol!
I am in 8th grade. I've been watching Emily since I was in 4th grade. The first video I saw of Emily was her Dirt Cheep Products Under 3 Dollars. I play volleyball I love science and history and when I grow up I want to be a chemist and make makeup.

Actually introverts love people! They just need to process them differently. Introverts do not like small talk and want to get into the meat of the conversation. Also, the fact that you are not energized by being social but at least need some down time to energize. I am an introvert and I am the same way. Love to be around people and having deep discussions about who we really are. I enjoy social situations and love a good party. However, I need to retreat for a little time into my personal bubble to reboot. Then I am ready to enjoy everyone! Just love you and look forward to every video you make. I watch every one, even if i am not particularly interested in your topic. You just make it interesting!

It really was an amazing experience. We made the ebony keys at a farm in Wilsonville, Oregon. From start to finish it was so beautiful. We would get the ebony, and start cutting it down to size. Some pieces had pink strips thru the wood. I loved finding that be of course we couldn't use them. The sanding process would take forever, and when we were done I was covered in black dust. It looked like I worked in a coal mine. After work I would be able to ride the horses, and play with the farm cats. It truly was an amazing memory.

Ugh, when you talked about being bullied, my heart dropped! I hate that you went through that. It is so sad and we need more kids who stand up for those being bullied. Kids can be so mean! :( As a parent now, can I ask what your thoughts would be on how to address that with kids if they were to encounter it? As a mother, I worry about my kids being bullied someday...

I feel so connected to you, thank you for sharing these random facts. it's funny because I've always tried my best to not follow the trends or be like other people. which made me a bully target from 4th to about 9th grade. I as well was in cheerleading, I had a pretty good childhood growing up in a small town in the 90s playing mainly outside. I suffered from migraines as early as 4th grade that followed with a bloody nose every time I was outside too long in the heat. I love the simple things in life, I'm pretty easy to please and don't need much to have fun or feel entertained. I love my family and feel empathy like no other. it really does drain you when someone you care for is struggling, because then you feel that struggle with them. I've always loved makeup but I didn't start experimenting with it till I found your channel, I wish I could be passionate about working out like I am about makeup but your channel has lit a fire for my love of makeup so thank you!

I was in a duel enrollment history class in high school and a few popular girls told me I would fail because I wasn't smart enough. Of course I worked my butt off and I got a plaque at the end of the year for highest GPA. I have two degrees now but I'll never be as proud as I was walking across the stage😂

AND I used to love to narrate books into a little tape recorder when I was young. I've thought I should volunteer for audiobooks or something. lol! I think I've been watching and enjoying your YT content for almost 10 years? I rarely comment, but this is one of the best "Random Things You Might Not Know About Me" type of videos I've ever seen. Loved the more in-depth, conversational style -- wasn't just a rattled off list of facts. Lots from the heart. A more genuine and vulnerable side of you. Loved every bit. Thanks for sharing it. So.very.cool. BTW, my older sister and I (13 years apart) also share a very unique sense of humor that nobody else gets. I can identify with that very unique level of sisterly connection! I start grad school for art therapy in august! My research interests include art therapy for autistic individuals, art therapy to help with body image issues, art therapy for people with physical disabilities (like me! I have spina bifida), and art therapy in .homeless shelters.

A few random facts:
I was born in Little Rock Arkansas and was adopted at 5 weeks old. I currently and have always since lived in upstate New York!
I have a pet bunny rabbit. She is 10 years old as of January 2017, and she's (obviously) old, fat and kind of mean to everyone except myself, but she's so cute.
I also love a good swingset. I love to sit on a swing with an iPod, or now my iPhone and just listen to music and daydream. It's so relaxing.
And lastly, I can spell pretty well. I was in the spelling bee, in elementary school, but unlike most people, if you put letters (aka Scrabble tiles, or Bananagrams tiles in front of me, I cannot for the life of me make words.)

I was a cop's daughter- bullying came with that- from grade school through high school
I catfished my (now) husband when I was 12. He lived in Egypt at the time. We stopped talking once the truth came out. And he moved to Canada a few years later. Fast forward to 2008..he randomly added me on Facebook. We talked for months before He travelled four days in his car to come and meet me. The rest is history. We've been together eight years and married six.

I have bunions from working as a hairstylist in my 20s in high heels all day!! Not taking care of my feet is a huge regret I have! I was bullied for being overweight, it was so hurtful. it seems like middle school is so hard, and it brings the worst out in kids for some reason. I have watched your videos since apartment days, and thank you so very much for sharing your life, as well as love of makeup, with all of us.
