Overall quite a good video. My only minor complaint is how certain elements of Giannis’s case were overlooked, including having the best record, and not having anywhere near a full strength Middleton for most of the season. If Jokic benefited from missing key teammates in his 6th seed MVP, so should Giannis, especially with the late game work Middleton does that you described, not to mention having the best record in the league without his #2. Still though, I wouldn’t be mad at a Jokic win, just getting tired of people pretending Giannis’s case is nothing more than “best player + playoff success”
totally agree. a lot of giannis missing his games came recently with his hand injury and load management now that our team is full strength. given the season as a whole, giannis has been doing this all season, where i feel like embiid is padding his stats towards the end bc he’s a free throw and usage merchant
Problem is even though that is the case for Giannis, his team still has a winning record without him. Whereas the year without Murray, the Nuggets were something like 2-6 without Jokic.
What about Giannis running dunking traveling charging most free throws in 60 years ..if they allowed to defend him and he didn’t get away with b.s he wouldn’t be shit and his defense is overrated also east is weaker than west

Fair or not, Jokic is running into the same heightened expectations that Giannis couldn't overcome when he was going for his third straight MVP in 2021. The voters treat a three-peat as something special. You don't just have to be great compared to the rest of the league--you have to be great compared to what you usually do, and more importantly, you have to be great compared to what you did the year before. Jokic is measurably worse this year in PPG and rebounds, and in a year where he's miles behind the other two in PPG (they're both well over 30, while he isn't even breaking 25) that will probably be enough to deny him.
I don't get all your Embiid hate, Barry. The guy is an unbelievable offensive and defensive talent. Huge, but can move and shoot. Impossible to guard. All you talk about is his flopping. Look what happens when he doesn't flop. Defenses have to practically dismember him before refs will consistently call fouls for him. (Yes, you can cherrypick counterexamples.) I live on the east coast and the sixers and celtics are like the only teams that are ever on TV. So I personally think Embid is an entertaining player. However, my sample is skewed.
The problem with playing the race card is this: when the topic has nothing to do with race, it’s the only point in the argument folks feel is valid. But when the topic IS about race, it’s the last thing anyone wants to seriously talk about. This year’s MVP race had absolutely nothing to do with race until Kendrick Perkins said the dumbest take on the subject out loud. Personally I thought Luka would be higher in the running for the honor over Giannis or Jokic.
You only said positive things about Jokic. I think you have to give the other two credit or else people will just agree with you. Head-to-head this year Embiid was better.

And off duty fire fighters.
As a bucks fan you’re a very naughty boy Barry! Bad! But gotta love Middleton during that finals series
Great video 👍
Baaaaaarry....help! I'm in the grip of the devil's lettuce and I'm spiraling towards an Oreo overdose! Tell my family I love them, tell my brother I broke the Nintendo in '92! Oh no! Nutter Butters! Tell the world my story Barry!
It's incredible how the video change completely in the end 😂
Mj also threatened Lebron to burn his house down if he didn’t throw the 2011 finals
I’m not gonna claim I’ve finished the video, I’m halfway through, but this is quite literally just an pro jokic argumentative a essay, no? I knew he’d have a jokic bias going in but DANG.
Chris Middleton and yannis are possibly the best at the pick and roll game in the league I’ll give them that
I love how Barry embraces his inner hater the internet needs more people openly embracing their inner hater.
Good Offense does NOT always beat Good Defense
But when Embiid has both they discredit it completely
Yes it does lmao
It does. Put your top 5 offensive players of all time against your top 5 defensive players of all time. Offensive players will always win.
@@Mcburger644 Embiid and Jokic are closer defensively than embiid fans would like to admit
in 2023 and kinda in basketball in general, it 100% does
Jokic almost getting Harden level MVP hate 😂😂
I don't care what people say, just give my man Embiid the MVP he so deserves!!
Spot on barry.
Per 36 min, Giannis is the best of the 3
The others have better numbers bc Giannis plays sub 32 min/game.
Wait, why did you use JJ Redick’s face when talking about people saying Jokic winning it is just cuz he’s white? Shouldn’t you have used Perkins face?
This was a jokic gawk session
I live on the east coast and the sixers and celtics are like the only teams that are ever on TV.
@Barry we all know Tom Brady is the true MVP. He willed our troops to defend us oversees! God Bless Tom Brady!
You didn’t even explain anything for Giannis other than slight hate on him💀💀🤦🏾♂️
You only said positive things about Jokic. I think you have to give the other two credit or else people will just agree with you. Head-to-head this year Embiid was better.
really good video
Let's not forget that Lebron James is one of the greatest floppers of all time.
This video has nothing to do with lebron tho, plus you're the type to say jordan has 6 rings and lebron lost 6 times in the finals but then see lebron finals competition and still bash him for no reason
Teams are able to beat the nuggets basically entirely by targeting Jokic lol. Three time mvp is crazyyy
