One of the big reasons Dr. J's stats dropped is because he was playing with a prime Moses and Maurice Cheeks. On any given night, he would do whatever the team needed to win. For example, in Game 1 of the finals vs the Lakers, he put up ridiculous number of 20 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 blocks and two steals. @@TransparentEclipse, I'll say this and then I'll give you my ranking with some brief explanations to not take up too much of your time. So, in boxing (for the most part) they rank fighters based off of level of competition. Ali is looked at as one of, if not the best because he played in and dominated the strongest Heavyweight era of all time, really only being rivaled by the 90s. Now boxing is an individual sport of course, by I personally use that as my main metric along with players being the 1st option, 2nd option, etc. Those are my two biggest factors because it really does show how good a player is. It also means more if you dominated in a stronger era than a weaker era. But here's my top 10... In order: Jordan, Kobe, Dr. J, Hakeem, Duncan, Bird, Magic, Shaq, Kareem, and Lebron. No Wilt and Russell because when some of their best players like Dolph Schayes went to the hall of fame by averaging 16 points on his best season and being an ok facilitator, it really shows how bad that era was. 10, Lebron. Only started to win a weak Eastern Conference, when he joined 2 other Hall of Famers. All again in a very weak East. Then in Cleveland I still think it was a weak East, but he at least played good in the Finals so I don't hold too much against him there. Against the Heat in 2020, the Heat were missing 2 out of there top 3 best players for a good chunk of that series, and Jimmy outplayed Lebron for most of that series. I don't really hold Lebron high for the most part because of the context around his achievements, but his Finals appearances in Cleveland are impressive. So Kareem at 9 because the 70s were bad till 76-77 in the NBA, the ABA had much better talent, with the only exception being Bob Macadoo who was actually really good. Kareem missed the playoffs twice in 75 and 76, and played a lot worse in the Finals and Playoffs than his regular season. When he got Magic he then started making the playoffs, and he Magic was playing a lot better. So Kareem played in a weak era for most of his career, and only started winning till he he became a 2nd option. Career wise, his resume is really good, however, if we only look at one's career than Bob Cousy is bordering top 20 because of his resume, which isn't at all the case. At 8 I have Shaq. Shaq played in the 2000s West during his prime, and that was the strongest West even to this day. Though Shaq didn't spend a ton of time there. 3 of the best Finals performances of all-time, unlike Kareem. He also was the best player on at least 2 of those championship runs. Was great on every level besides shooting. Shaq is actually better than Kareem I would say, maybe not total success wise, but I've already been over why that metric can be overblown. 7 would then be Magic. Magic lead the Lakers to many championships, was decent on the defensive end but not great. Was at least a good scorer, and arguably the best facilitator. Besides in '84, he was great in the playoffs and in the Finals. I personally think though Magic and Shaq are interchangeable. 6 I would have Bird. Bird played in the East which was the strongest Eastern conference even to this day, and was much harder to make it out of the playoffs than what the West was. Bird had less success than Magic, but wasn't that far off. I do think he is overrated in the playoffs, however, he was always great in the Finals. As well as the regular season. The better defender and scorer than Magic. And was always the first option. 5 is Duncan. Duncan could be higher, however, his peak wasn't very long and wasn't as insane as some of the players peaks that is later on the list. I think Duncan is the 2nd best defender of all time, and was good in every other category. Played in the strongest west, also dominated in it but much longer than Shaq. 4, I have Hakeem. Unlike everyone I've mentioned so far, besides maybe Bird with all the 80s Small Forwards, Hakeem dominated in the 2nd best Western conference, I group the 00s and 10s together, as well as the strongest era of big man of all time. You had Robinson, Shaq, Ewing, Mourning, Mutumbo, Daugherty, etc. All with no official All-stars on his team till after he started winning championships. As well as pre 90s with Sampson but that was very short. Hakeem did a lot with much less than what Duncan had, Bird had, Magic had, etc. And I would argue is the greatest defender of all time. He played a lot better in the Finals and playoffs than what he did in the regular season which is very rare. He also statistically had the hardest playoff/championship run of all time in '95 and averaged 33pts, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 2blks, and 2stls. He was absolutely crazy one of the best Finals performances ever. Could be higher, however, it's hard to not ignore the fact that he did not play in the strongest West of all time. 3 is Dr. J. He played his best years in the ABA where he was a top tier defender and scorer. He won 3 scoring titles, 1 All-Defensive 1st team, however, when you look at the stats and impact Dr. J should've won it at least 5 more times for first team. Dr. J also played well in all forms of the game as I explained earlier. And in the NBA should've won another chip in '77 however, his team was playing a lot of selfish ball which cost them the chip. Should've won maybe another 1st team all-defensive selection in 77 and potentially 78. But 79 onwards should be more like 2nd team and lower. And Dr. J ended his career in the 80s east which is the strongest east period. 2, Kobe. Same thing as Duncan however had a longer and better prime. Was inefficient, however all those stats can be attributed to era where the pace was slower and teams as a whole had lower efficiencies. Kobe was a great scorer, and defender. Never really had a great Finals MVP though. So you can hold that to him. And I do think Kobe could be ranked lower, I won't only just look at the positives for Kobe. Kobe did also play in the strongest West as well, so there's that to consider too. 1. Jordan, pretty much Bird on absolute steroids. The best scorer of all time, averaging the highest career ppg, being top 5 in career points, and having the most scoring titles of all-time. But was also a top tier defender. Also played in the strongest East 80s - 90s and dominated. His finals competition was really good unlike this weird rising opinion that it was bad, ua-cam.com/video/Zg-d9VBuBvI/v-deo.html
@@TransparentEclipse, sorry that comment was so long, I tried to make it as brief as possible. Included brief explanations too, so that you can at least attempt to understand my thought process. Though I do have more reasonings for placements, just didn't want to take up too much of your time. You did mention "most people" a bit in your comment, I don't really care about what a popular opinion is for rankings, because it's just an appeal to popularity. Not saying that's the case every time, but I avoid saying because of that fact. I also wanted to mention, I also factor in achievements as well in my metric system it's just not number 1 like how most people have it. I also factor in performances and play throughout the whole game, as well as offensive and defensive abilities. So don't just think I'm talking about era/competition and one's option choice on the team (1st option, 2nd option, etc.)
I want to end the KG in San Antonio debate. KG wouldn't have won nearly as many as Duncan because he was a shitty teammate. The reason the Spurs were contenders for 20 seasons was because Duncan was willing to accept a smaller role in favor of getting wins and letting teammates flourish
Nonsense. Duncan was a Top 10 All time player who had hall of fame teammates and one of the best coaches of the modern era. KG was a top 30 or so all time player who had Anthony Peeler and Wally Szczerbiak. I agree that KG probably wins fewer than 5 titles if he's in Duncan's shoes, but Duncan does not win a single ring in Minnesota. Nobody in NBA history could have won with those teams.
@Fries Duncan's help is definitely overstated, his individual brilliance was by far the biggest factor in all of their titles except 2014. That being said, it's not even an argument that he was in a better situation than KG in Minnesota, it would be crazy to suggest otherwise.

@@veloxacre5265 Those are incredible resumes, but they still don't stack up to the likes of MJ and LeBron, who each have more Finals MVP's and regular season MVP's than those 2, more all NBA appearances, and better counting stats/efficiency across the board. I agree with positions 3 through 8, but MJ and Lebron really have separated themselves and stand alone at 1 and 2. It's very hard to argue (convincingly) for anyone other than them in the top 2 spots. But I could see 3 through 8 being almost interchangeable

Pierce got plenty of love during his career, and most media/former players continue to say good things about him. The only hate came from his stint as a commentator, when he was justifiably roasted for some of his bad takes [like every other commentator].
I personally 100% agree with tony Parker being the 28th pick. He was really fucking good even without Tim Duncan. He was an elite playmaker and he was excellent in the paint despite his size. He could shoot good and overall he was just a excellent pg

It’s probably a mix of his own experience/memories of watching these guys, with thorough research into stats (I think basketball reference allows you to sort/search by best statistical measures per career, season, and game) and takes from the overall NBA fanbase and community to back his claims. Dude puts in some work for these vids, that’s for sure
Great video, only really disagree with the second pick. Bill Russell is definitely over KD i my book, he's a Mount Rushmoure player(4th behind MJ, Lebron and Kareem in that order) i think they are the only 4 who have a strong argument for being the GOAT.
I don’t agree but def respect the opinion. I see Russell in a similar light to Brady (admittedly I respect Russell more than Brady), they both won a crap-load of titles on stacked teams where it wasn’t up to them to win, as much as it was up to them to not screw the pooch. Russell is a legit atg, but i don’t think he’d be as remembered if he didn’t play for the celtics for the time that he did, as he likely doesn’t win the absurd amount of rings he did on another team (tbf KD doesn’t win his 2 rings if he didn’t join the Ws, so 6 of 1 i guess). Idk but i think KD, individually, is a better player, scorer, and superstar than Russell ever was, though that may just be recency bias

@Fries Duncan definitely had better team mates and a far better coach.
If KG was developed by Papovich then he would be an okay teammate (okay, not "good")
Really hard to say on this one...KG and Timmy best 2 power forwards I've ever seen...and I'm 65 yes old.
I’m not huge into sports like many in the comments but I really do enjoy the channels that combine the humor and such.
And Barry’s channel is one of those whom videos and humor I really enjoy listening to. Great stuff as usual.
Sport fans argue and say stupid shit at times like Lebron is not even top 10 of all time
@@TheGaara802 A "sport fan" that I overheard in a G.O.A.T. debate said that LeBron was not even in the top 500.
you're honestly the funniest NBA content creator as well as the most insightful and best. I hope you continue making more videos like these. my personal favourite was the "curry MVP virgin" as it was so funny. 99% of that video I was literally in tears of laughter. keep doing those types of videos (maybe RUSS RING VIRGIN) etc :)
@Fries watch his video on curry being a fmvp virgin he explains it well
@Fries I agree but the best player in that particular finals series was Bron. Regardless of who won. He literally made it a competitive series and without him it would’ve been a sweep by 20+ points per game fr
“He was a deadeye shooter, no offense to Fetty Wap” 💀💀💀💀
11:26
Come on man, you can't drop dimes like "Karl Sandusky" so casually. 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
“He was there to score the fucking rock and he did that at an elite level” that made me laugh so hard lmao 15:05
“Behind the famously responsible gambler” true tho 😂
I love your lists. You have great sports knowledge, and offer great insight, and some funny anecdotes about players
Real fun video, only thing id ask is for more of the picks you put who they beat out. In a sense like an honorable mention
Now, do the opposite: the worst draft picks from 1 to 30.
@Fries - Sam Bowie?
Nearly pissed myself laughing at the “Karl Sandusky” quip.
The John Stockton shot joke is an all time classic
And the Karl Sandusky quip too
8:15 My favorite player in NBA history.
That John Stockton antivax joke killed me
Stockton joke had me rolling 💀 top tier humor
Glad to see these new NBA videos
"Karl Sandusky" lmaoooooo
"Lebron and a bunch of make a wish kids" I can't stop laughing 😂😂😂😂😂
I’ve recently commented a few weeks ago that Barry should make a video doing the best second round pick of every nba draft, but this was an excellent list regardless ❤️ Also, Barry a funny-ass dude!
So in the span of 2 months Barry concedes that Brady is the GOAT and Jordan is the GOAT?
I thought the same thing.
He could be trying to be taken a little more seriously. Thing is, he is knowledgeable on the sports, but is known by most as just a troll. There is a middle ground, and I think he might be looking for that. Like the man said above me, that hate can get to just about any man.
Jordan is a Goat but Brady ain’t
John Stockton should be brought into the greatest point guard conversations more often, his records will never be broken
@Fries probably the steals as the rules have changed so much to favor offense. Potentially the assists record could be broken, again due to the rules changing to favor offense
It is fun to see you giving love to players instead of triggering their fan bases from time to time
another barry mccockiner vid W
"Hide your wives" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The Stockton section was pure comedy. Barry is the GOAT. Lowkey some Cavs history in this video too
Can you explain the "not taking shots irl" line? I'm European man and have no idea at all but seems funny
@@joseluiiiis Stockton is anti-vax.
The analysis mixed with humor just makes this channel goated
“He was a dead-eye shooter”
“No offense to Fetty Wap”
No one on UA-cam has better one-liners than Barry.
This is a banger video
I’d say anyone within the top 7-8 has a GOAT argument. No one in that range is extraordinarily ahead of the next
Disagree. As amazing as guys like Magic and Bird were, I really don't see a good argument for them
@@vaclevsta magic had a 13 year career which he won 5 rings, 3x MVP, 70% win percentage, 10,000+ career assists (only 3 others to do so), 11x all star, 10x all nba
Bird is a 3x champ, 3x MVP, 12x all star, 24ppg 10rpg 6apg career averages, 9x all nba first team
@@veloxacre5265 Those are incredible resumes, but they still don't stack up to the likes of MJ and LeBron, who each have more Finals MVP's and regular season MVP's than those 2, more all NBA appearances, and better counting stats/efficiency across the board. And both were far superior defensively to either Magic/Bird.
I agree with positions 3 through 8, but MJ and Lebron really have separated themselves and stand alone at 1 and 2. It's very hard to argue (convincingly) for anyone other than them in the top 2 spots. But I could see 3 through 8 being almost interchangeable
@@m74d3 Saying someone like Kareem doesn’t come close is kinda a kick to the groin considering how much he’s done in his career
keep these nba videos coming🐐🐐🐐
“Featuring Lebron and a bunch of make-a-wish kids.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is a certified hood classic
You should do a best 2nd round picks of all time video. The only surefire ones I can think of are Jokic and Ginobili, so I’d love to see some more examples
And Draymond Green
@@thatswhyhesthegoat3943 Was he 2nd round or undrafted? Either way he fits the bill, could be a 2nd round / undrafted video
@@ninjamage5215 he was the 35th pick
thank you for puttin some respect on paul pierces name. people really talk like he was some bench player in the 2000s. it always baffled me how he was so unathletic but able to create shots for himself on a consistent basis.
Pierce got plenty of love during his career, and most media/former players continue to say good things about him. The only hate came from his stint as a commentator, when he was justifiably roasted for some of his bad takes [like every other commentator].
great video again barry about the draft (no offense countries with conscription)
Your videos are awesome my guy!
Barry are you into the MLB I would like to see you put an asterisk on every World Series.
“Karl Sandusky” 😂
17:00 LMAO and the next joke too.
"His biggest weakness as a player is that he refused to take shots. That's also his biggest weakness as a person" 🤣🤣🤣
Barry just doing some soul-searching to find the goat
I personally 100% agree with tony Parker being the 28th pick. He was really fucking good even without Tim Duncan. He was an elite playmaker and he was excellent in the paint despite his size. He could shoot good and overall he was just a excellent pg
Define elite playmaker, because his assist averages were never very high.
That Tony Parker "hide your wives" had me in tears lmao
Barry says brady is the goat and now says Michael is the goat wtf happened…I miss old Barry
Keep the vids coming 🥷 love the channel
The fetty wap joke has me bent over dude wasn't expecting that
Did anyone else lose it when he said "Karl Sandusky" 🤣
a video like this for the second round would have some pretty interesting picks since the options there are less known/regarded
that fucking Stockton line was so damn funny lmaoooo
You should make a vid on these lakers they are bad and it’s getting hilarious 😭🤦🏾♂️
Barry your growth and maturity over time is a real testament to your love and respect of the troops and women. It’s also reflective of your brave stance against marijuana
Barry admitting MJ And Tom Brady are GOATs is the biggest shock of this year lmao
yessir lowry getting the recognition the groat deserves
16:40 The rest of the screen is 144p but rodman's hair is in 4k
Please do best second round picks at each slot next
Quick and to the point we love it
That Fetty Wap joke is very underrated 😂
Klay Thompson would like a word with you about Reggie being the best #11 pick ever
Imagine a team with
Steph Curry (PG)
Michael Jordan (SG)
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (C)
Tim Duncan (PF)
LeBron James (SF)
82-0
I love that in the picture of Dennis Rodman's accolades the IBM award is purple because what even is that? I had never heard of it.
i have never heard of alex english at any point from any source in my entire 33 year life. and he led the 80s in scoring?? what the hell.
I don’t agree with some of your nba takes but your humor is fucking next level.
Hey Barry I was wondering if you can do a Triggering every NBA fanbases vid for both Western and Eastern conferences?
Karl Sandusky😭😭
The Tony Parker joke 😂
“The guy mj singled out as the guy who gave him the hardest time on that end”

Would love a 2nd round video
I love this channel.
The John Stockton segment was perfect Barry!
Great vid, do the worst picks
"I went with Kyle Lowry because of his illustrious giant ass"
Gotta love Barry
I’d like to see your list of boxing champions Barry.
How do you get your data for these videos? Do you manually browse all the webpages for the various sites?
Love your stuff man keep it up
It’s probably a mix of his own experience/memories of watching these guys, with thorough research into stats (I think basketball reference allows you to sort/search by best statistical measures per career, season, and game) and takes from the overall NBA fanbase and community to back his claims. Dude puts in some work for these vids, that’s for sure
What does the word valium mean in this context? Ive heard it in several of your videos but I dont know what it means.
Stockton refusing to take shots LMAO!!!!!
Where’s the puppy bowl recap?????
The Truck Robinson part was gold.
Curry finally got the finals MVP lol
I love this nba content
As much as Durant is amazing I think Bob McAdoo could be argued for the best 2nd overall pick. Dude was so far ahead of his time.
Bro Bob McAdoo and Kevin Durant will never be a debate Kd is better and greater
