Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip your spine out when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Odd Eye is part 3 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. People can get lost in the world of the Internet and social media and their online personas can take over their life. Dreamcatcher want us to use our odd eye to see through the lies (on Facebook and others) and don't be fooled by the "lies masked in sweetness". Dreamcatcher ODD EYE meaning: The MV is about how the media (represented by the TV, phone, & computer) is showing us fake comfort (represented by a mask chair). It tells us how a new world of hope but is an altered reality of despair. Media shows us a lot of good things in life that makes us believe that there is a Utopia and this gives us hope. Even when we open our eyes, we see it as something good. According to the lyrics, it is a sorrow covered by light. It is a perfect illusion covering reality. They sing about using our Odd Eye, a secretly hidden eye that sees beyond illusion. Because with how sophisticated this world is right now, anything can be deceiving. A smile can be a plausible lie overshadowed by sweetness. Even hope itself may may lead us to despair in the end. We see Yoohyeon drink the cup of what she thought was wine but was actually poision. We see Gahyeon reach into the computer but ended up in flames. They give us fake hope but get hurt in the end when faced with the brutal reality of this cruel world. Honestly even though it's technically the end of the Dystopia trilogy, I think music-wise, Odd Eye is one of the best first songs you can listen to in their discography. However, I will say that their choreos are always awesome so if you do decide to react to more Dreamcatcher I hope you react to those dance practices as well! The extra dancers came in during the Dystopia series, up until then it was just them. I think their production team wanted to create a more theatrical stage for these new performances and it added alot of excitement to their stages. Once again, thank you! Media shows us a lot of good things in life that makes us believe that there is a Utopia and this gives us hope. Even when we open our eyes, we see it as something good. According to the lyrics, it is a sorrow covered by light. It is a perfect illusion covering reality.
They sing about using our Odd Eye, a secretly hidden eye that sees beyond illusion. Because with how sophisticated this world is right now, anything can be deceiving. A smile can be a plausible lie overshadowed by sweetness. Even hope itself may may lead us to despair in the end.
We see Yoohyeon drink the cup of what she thought was wine but was actually poision. We see Gahyeon reach into the computer but ended up in flames. They give us fake hope but get hurt in the end when faced with the brutal reality of this cruel world. We are literally hurting ourselves like how Handong has her neck in her own hands. Let go of the remote (Siyeon) and stop looking for this fake Utopia (Jiu running away from the tree).
In the last chorus it tells us to close our eyes. So that we can't be fooled by the world's fake light. So that at least we choose to be in darkness than to chase something that doesn't exist.
Jiu has her eyes blindfolded with a bouquet in her hands for us to realize this. A Utopia is not something we must search for but is something we must make ourselves.

The song is explaining that DC (Dreamcatcher) can’t find a utopia because it doesn’t exist anymore and how the odd eye(reality) helps them realize this.
DC were lying to themselves with false hope in the (BOCA MV another music video which continue the story line, Scream, Boca, Odd Eye). They had hopes of stopping people from saying negative things but it’s not possible.
Most of the lyrics are just repeating the same concept. They tricked themselves with hope/light/lies/sweetness/ideal dreams but after a while they realize that this fate can’t be changed. They are forced into reality and there is no more utopia
they have a special comeback on july 30th maybe you can check it out when it'll be released

Here’s the trilogy in order: Scream -> BOCA -> Odd eye. to explain the trilogy in short it’s about hatred and (cyber)bullying and how words can affect you etc etc i recommend tuning on subs for scream and boca those are the ones where it’s more obvious on what the topic is about

Wow I love finding another new-ish Dreamcatcher fan! Honestly even though it's technically the end of the Dystopia trilogy, I think music-wise, Odd Eye is one of the best first songs you can listen to in their discography. And I LOVE that you're including the dance practices in your reactions too, because DC really is known for their complex and powerful choreography, but the music videos don't really show it off!

I'm sure InSomnia have given you the lowdown about the Dystopia trilogy, we are nothing if not thorough, so I'll leave that to them. However, I will say that their choreos are always awesome so if you do decide to react to more Dreamcatcher I hope you react to those dance practices as well!
The extra dancers came in during the Dystopia series, up until then it was just them. I think their production team wanted to create a more theatrical stage for these new performances and it added alot of excitement to their stages.
Once again, thank you! Dreamcatcher is coming back this Friday, the 30th, with a summer special that will be a stand alone story, and InSomnia are so excited because we have no idea what to expect! Their song coming out is called "BEcause". I'd love to see your reaction to that as well! 💜^_^💜

I love that you check out the dance videos too because that's always my favorite part of dreamcatcher's music videos and it doesn't get to shine as much with the other aspects of the music videos taking precedence for storyline purposes. I'll give a short break down about them.
Dreamcatcher is an unique 7 member girl group which debuted in 2017. I say unique because it is, as far as I know, the only K-pop group with rock/metal infused sounds for *ALL* their title tracks. Their main tracks are mostly story based with dark concept, connecting one song to another.
There are various genres mixed in the songs, but they fused rock elements into them. It's their signature sound, while their B-sides are truly a huge variety of genres and experimental creativity. Apart from their hugely talented main composers (Ollounder & Leez), their b-sides contain the creativity of the girls themselves who take part in the composing and writing of the songs too.
