"Maison" is part 1 of the Apocalypse trilogy. Dreamcatcher are touching on a very important subject here. Maison is French for "house" or rather "home", and they are singing about everyone's home, which is our planet. Previously they talked about online hate, now they are tackling an issue that impacts the whole planet and therefore everyone. Climate change is going to affect all of us, and it is already affecting many people. Island Nations will disappear under the ocean ("Save my home in the ocean"). Ice melts in the arctic and displaces people ("Save my home in the polar"). Forests get decimated by corporate greed and habitats get destroyed ("Save my home in the jungle") and disappearing glaciers and snow packs result in even less water for deserts ("Save my home in the desert").
People have a natural tendency to ignore issues that seem to be in the future - but climate change is here, right now. We can't wait anymore, and it is good that Dreamcatcher use their platform to promote change: "Break your habit now!"
Musically I really enjoy the song. Like in BEcause, the rock/metal vibe is dialed back a bit, but it is still there and highly distorted. Although the more I listen to it, the more Rock I hear. I especially like how the pre-chorus and chorus seems to appear out of nowhere, the chord progression in the bridge, and the epic end part. The bass line is crazy as well. LEEZ and Ollounder (their producers) have done it again, and the members are just brilliant. Respect!
"Vision" is part 2 of the Apocalypse trilogy. I believe they are showing us the perspective from the future in this series, showing us how the earth looks like when we keep acting like we do. While "Maison" was talking about the destruction of the environment, here they seem to be talking about the destruction due to war. I don't know if that was the idea from the beginning, but Putin's aggression definitely played a role here. In one set they even dance in front of what looks sort of like a huge trident, which is the coat of arms of Ukraine (could be a coincidence though, or this is me seeing things).
It is easy to see how the conflict in Ukraine could result in global destruction. It's just a push of a button away. Note that Dami presses a launch button, but it's not for nukes. It's for spreading their message, their vision. Peace. To be heard all around the world. The song is also a call for action, to stand together against aggressors and those who are destroying the planet out of greed. There is not much difference between someone leading an army or a corporation, if the result is destruction. Still, Dami said the intention is to resolve the problems in a peaceful way.
So, what do we do? There is no easy answer. Dami has an outfit that shows that perfectly. One half is an innocent bridal dress, the other half is simply badass. What I know is that any aggressor only listens to very limited diplomacy, and they need to know that the good in the world is ready and willing to fight them if needed. Whoever the aggressor is, we are more than them. They need to know they will never succeed, the only option is peace.
By the way, my interpretation could be completely wrong, any other theory is perfectly valid as well.
Musically, it's heavier than Maison, and I feel it fits the subject matter very well. It sounds aggressive and heavy, but also soft and vulnerable. There is the duality again. And I love the fake keychange at the end of the chorus, the crazy bass and the guitar in the bridge. All in all this is a fantastic release!
"Reason" is the fan-song for Dreamcatcher's 6th anniversary. I can't even begin to describe how proud I am of them. They're flexing their rock and vocal muscles, while all three rappers make an appearance. InSomnia might be lifting them up, but they should know, they are also carrying us. Happy 6th anniversary, Dreamcatcher!
Can you imagine this song live? With InSomnia going Whoooo-whoooaaa and them singing over it? 😊
I wouldn't be surprised if the animations were done by a fan, I seem to recognize the style. Whoever did them, they did a great job. I see the book from the Nightmare arc, the mask from Scream, the gun from R.o.S.E Blue, the gagged bust from Boca, the cup from Odd Eye, the hand through the mirror from Good Night and the clock from Piri.
Musically, I am in heaven. I'm a metalhead and I love the song. AND THAT RIFF! 🤘🎸 Obviously the song is an absolute anthem!
"Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right?
My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity).
SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace.
There are still many things I don't know. For example, why are all three titles in French. 😉 (And why are there 3 Damis with 7 shadows...)
The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal.
Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. We lost Leez as a producer, but the team around Ollounder did a fantastic job! And as a bass player, I can say the slap bass is crazy!
I probably won't have to tell anyone that the visuals here are out of this world. I'm going to say it anyways: The members have never looked more beautiful, and the whole team all deserve a raise!
Yayyy more Dreamcatcher, glad to finally see them back on the channel! Dreamcatcher got their very 1st (and 2nd) music show win for 'MAISON' 1,923 days after they debuted (2,771 days for the five members that were part of MINX), which is one of the longest streaks for a group to go without a win (probably THE longest streak for a group as consistently active as them). They then received their 3rd and 4th ever music show win with 'BONVYAGE'. It's honestly insane it took that long with the quality they put out but it's nice to finally see them get some recognition.
Extremely rare these days that a group can come up with such an epic sound and make me feel a wave of emotions at the same time. 💯 A lot of "typical kpop" is at best a complex composition of beats and rhythms.
If a Dreamcatcher member blows out your eardrums then it's almost certainly Siyeon (which it was), but Yoohyeon and Sua are not far behind. Dreamcatcher are the only Kpop girl group I know of that is composed entirely of top shelf vocalists. IMHO Siyeon is the best female vocalist in Kpop today. There are other vocalists that can sing as well in parts of her range, but no others that can sing as well in her entire range. Her lower range is ideal for R&B and I hope she does more of that in the future.

SuA is LOUD NUMBER ONE (just by laughing she can ACCIDENTALLY hit notes that would call Dolphins to her).
Gahyeon is LOUD NUMBER TWO.
Yoohyeon can hit great notes and can belt but she has never been compared to SuA for being loud.
Dami can hit higher notes than both Siyeon and Yoohyeon. Dami only comes in second behind SuA for High notes.
rj, maison, vision, and bonvoyage are part of a trilogy! (like scream, boca, and odd eye.) everyone has their own interpretation of it but generally, the girls were asking someone to save the earth and for us to be aware of our impact on it in maison, vision was a call to action, and bonvoyage is a resolution, what comes after the earth is able to heal itself. broadly it’s about climate change and how we play a role in that and how we treat the only home we have. the songs are really important for dc & fans also because they got their first and ongoing music show wins with them. it’s taken the girls years to get to where they are and they recently signed a contract for 7 more years, which is sooooo exciting. as always ty for the reactions 🤍🤍🤍 (and this probably won’t be helpful without pictures but group members are jiu, sua, yoohyeon, dami, handong, gahyeon, and siyeon!)
Their first win was with Maison they got 2 wins with it and then Bon Voyage also got 2 wins so they have 4 total now

The reality is that Dreamcatcher's singles don't sell that well in Korea - and most music shows count sales more than views. If it weren't for The Show and Show Champion, groups from smaller companies wouldn't have a chance to win a trophy. Btw, it's widely believed they got screwed out of a win for Scream (apparently The Show manipulated voting that cost them their first trophy.)@@jihyoshusband

The biggest challenge for Dreamcatcher is their sound. They have a rock-influence (similar to J-rock), which isn't that popular in Korea (There are reasons why including the fact that rock music was banned in Korea till 1977 so a lot of Koreans didn't grow up with it and the sound didn't catch on the same why as it did in other countries).@@jihyoshusband

So happy that you reacted to them again!!! I know you listened to their title tracks BUT I feel like you're going to LOVE their b-sides. Their b-sides consist of different genres. Jazz, punk, r&b, ballad etc. It would be cool to see your reaction to their albums (their intros and outros are a must listen) but you can listen to them in your own time. Either way, you're gonna have a blast.
P.s their latest mini album (Apocalypse: From Us) is a gem. I feel like you're going to love every single song on it❤

I have been waiting with bated breath!!!! :) I was privileged enough to take my 5 year old daughter to see Dreamcatcher live a few months back and we both had an amazing time. Their charisma and live vocals are without match! My daughter loves REASON the most. :) Siyeon is the main vocalist of DC and yes her voice is so powerful. You should look up her solo "PARADISE". !! Maison, Vision, Bon Voyage are a trilogy. The albums are called Apocalypse: Save Us (Maison), Apocalypse: Follow Us (Vision), Apocalypse: From Us (Bon Voyage).
Maison talks about global warming and the environment in general.
Vision talks about spreading their message of peace, to be heard around the world and for ppl to take responsibility for their actions.
Bon Voyage has many meanings lyric wise. 1. Storyline wise) they're saying goodbye to the earth and saying sorry that they couldn't protect it.
2) It can also mean a farewell to a loved one (family, partner etc.). This song was the first one they released after their contract renewal. If they didn't renew, this would've been a farewell song to the fans.
Reason is their 3rd fan song. I think the meaning is pretty obvious 😂.

Dreamcatcher actually have 4 wins on music show so far and their first win is in 2022, although they already been around since 2017. Npt that their song is not good or something because they always delivered bops, probably their fandom way smaller back then & music show also need votiing & album sales data to win.

The Answer is the Same " Dreamcatcher "
Nope, they have NOT won a lot. There are only two songs that they have ever won shows with.
Those are 1) 'Maison', which was their first win EVER (they literally set a world record for the longest time between debuting and winning at a show, more than five years, because DC is the Black Sheep of K-Pop...)
and 2) Bon Voyage, when everybody thought they might break up and go their separate ways because of the Seven Year Curse. Thankfully ALL of the members signed again so we get at least another three years with them. After that, who knows? But SuA REALLY wants them all to stay together forever (and I can't blame her at all for that).
Both songs each won at two separate shows so the group has a grand total of four wins between those two songs, that's it.
This is proof positive that the Korean Entertainment Industry is RIGGED. DreamCatcher's music is AWESOME but wealthy Koreans just don't like Rock or Metal in their Pop music. Money does the talking.
This group only won with those two songs because the messages in the lyrics are so important (citing environmental concerns). In my opinion, Vision also should have won because it is in the same trilogy as Maison and Bon Voyage. Technically, they really should have won LONG ago and MANY times over...
Just think, they could have gone the entire seven years without any win at all and then broken up/ not signed new contracts because of not getting any wins. Maybe even some heavy debt for the company because of everything surrounding all of the workers at the company, rent for the buildings and housing the group members, etc.
As it is, those two wins got the company out of debt, they are clear of all of that but none of them are actually 'wealthy'. That company is basically one big 'chosen family'.
