This is the film slr I currently use most often with my sony and minolta af lenses and its an absolutely cracking little camera! In the most critical areas in my opinion this camera works brilliantly particularly the autofocus, I say that even in comparison to my workhorse Sony a900 and other more modern cameras like my girlfriends Olympus omd iii. The viewfinder is fantastic even though its a pentamirror rather than prism its still as bright as you could reasonably need. Where it lacks is ergonomics and some of the secondary features like the single control wheel and the small grip. I think of it like a stripped back dynax 7. This is one of the most modern and advanced film cameras I have ever used. It behaves like a more modern dslr in many ways.
thank you for your review! my colleague gave me such a camera and it was just put away in a box for six months, now there is time and I decided to take portraits with this camera.
Thanks as always! I have a Dynax 3, great camera and does it all really. What would the main differences be between the models? Is it the 7 onwards that also supports modern Sony lenses?
Thanks for the great video! Do you know what lenses work with this camera? I'm especially interested in manual focus lenses. And what shooting modes will they work in?
@@threeminutepro yeah. I am just a beginner. And this made taking photographs much simpler. I was already looking for a manual but did not buy it. I am happy with purchase. Just have one issue I could not find the battery extension. I am looking for one to mod with li-po.
Iwould sooner have The Dynax 500 si super which still has Manual ISO override,Metal Mount and wireless flash which I can use with a Minolta 5600 HS D speedlight

Absolutely! I can’t think of another £30 camera that has a spec sheet like this Minolta
I liked this camera so much I bought a 2nd one. So many features and light and fun to use.
Your videos so helpful!! Thank you for making them💕

The 5 and 7 have TTL off camera flash

Make sure to buy Minolta AF lenses, and they will work in all modes.
I bought 2. They were box packed. Cost me around 100 bucks. Got matching number lens and manual owner cards 😅
Great buy! 😀

I found one of these cameras last weekend...$10.00. Looks like it was never used. Came with 7 rolls of film.
Holy moly! What a bargain 😀

This has both, my friend. But yes, the 500 si is a great camera 😀
