  • Craig and I went out to Decker lake to do the initial 3 hour break in on the outboard. We had a lot of fun. Lots of power from this 30 hp suzuki. Loving it! The wind kicked it and gave us a hell of a rough ride. The boat took it like a champ though! Enjoy the video!

having done it would you do a bigger boat like the 16 for the jump in capacity? or would you do this one again?

I built this 15' because it was the largest available at the time and it fits in my garage perfect. If I woulda have done it again, I'd probably build the CB17 that Salt Boatworks offers.

@@FishingWithHoang oh right on why would you have chosen the bay?
Just more of what you do?

@@Offishal_Lifestyle Although it is a more of a deep V design, it still drafts shallow. I also cross the bay and run the jetties a lot. The FRS15 suprisingly does it great. Even in chop. With that being said, the CB17 would fit my style of fishing a bit more. I want to take more people out but the 15' limited to two adults. But its a great small family of 3 boat.

Go to my link. If it doesn't work, head over to my Instagram "Hoang.Nguyen82" and you will find a video of how I hooked it up.

@@FishingWithHoang that seems reasonable with two adults in the boat. I get the same with two aboard and a 16 aluminum side console with a 30 Evinrude. That boat planes out pretty good considering the conditions. Nice package for fishing.

I be willing to bet she sips gas for a boat that size I'd have a 50 or 60 suzuki. I run the 21 model 50 with nearly 400 hours.

The boat was designed for a max of 30hp. Suzuki is the lightest out of the bunch. It does indeed sip fuel. Went on a 45 mile run and burned 4 out of 6 gallons on a high wind and high current day. I was impressed!
