I found that batch slapping them with plugging the charger in and off a few times worked better than leaving it plugged in over night
if i'm having trouble with soldering old joints is it just coatings, or corrosion, heat, flux? sometimes it's like the solder joint is fighting me

How do you work out what size BMS board you need for your battery. Can you use 18650bms board on a 22650.

sir good explanation ..I have used the battery in my 12S pack .as it separately has so many advantages.after one year of use on my ebike there was serious issue of imbalance so bms was cutting off too soon while charging for over vol n while discharging for under vol..we tried to discharge on bench tests and finally found that though volts are ok there is no correlation with amps per cell for corresponding voltage

Good video, I have a question, I just ordered a 26 650 battery for vaping mod for e-cigarette, it indicates that is fully charged but when I use the device it says low battery. Could this be a cheap knockoff battery or are these batteries specifically made for e-cigarettes?
That's because 26650 batteries have lower voltage, if your mod doesn't include change for the voltage it will say low battery. Fully charged 18650 is 4.2v vs 26650 3.7v.

A Professor at Arizona state, developed cells that use Lithium/Sulfur combination.. He showed that they had 5 times the range of a NCR18650GA cell.. He disappeared, maybe his batteries were too efficient and they suicide'd him...

26650 would make great power tools. The durability, cycle rating, and high amperage could make a pack that is capable of offering lifetime warranty, unheard of for power tool battery. They would also cone in at 16v, avoiding the 18v licensing fee. It would be easy to advertise them as 5 cells with the power of 10. Smaller tools that give up nothing to 18v 10 cell 18650 tools.
i dont know there's licensing for specific voltage being used in power tools..
@@sworddice there is, for some reason the patent office in usa granted milwaukee tools an exclusivity to run lithium cordless at 18v, and so they collect royalities when others do 18v tools. it's asinine, but it's true.

They're also more dangerous if 1 cell fails at 4.3V(overchraged) there will be to too much fire than 18650.
lets add one more to the mix. what about the 26700 battery in earlier Milwaukee drill v batteries. Can you use the same charger on the smaller batteries? The batteries in my V18 Milwaukee takes a full charge, However they only last about 5 minutes and it goes almost dead again.
I would probably not use them drill batteries, you don't know what the current limits are on the BMS of it(unless you know) and that could be causing the battery to not work, perhaps not dead.

Depends
There are 26650's that are 3'7v (li-ion) and 3'2v (lifepo4). If your 26650's are 3'7v, most probably you can use the same charger (as long as the cells fit) but if they are 3'2v, you'll need a charger that can change the voltage it stops at

Which one is best?
21700 is more efficient but still weighs more, less volume. 18650 still very good cost efficient and lighter but more batteries. Use both as options, not one is better for every situation.

Didnt know samsung 40t was made by tesla. They are the same size but totally different cell chemistry.
they are not made by tesla but by Samsumg. However, Telsa does make lithium cells with the same 21700 can format (that is 21 mm diameter by 700 mm lenght), but telsa chemisty might differ a bit from Samsung's.

Dr E FYI: All 26650's are mis lableled' regardless of brand. The 26650 is a 18650 battery packed inside the 26650 can. 18650's DoNOT have a rating over 3700mah. Therefore no 26650 can be rated over 3700mah. China's biggest lithium battery scam ever.
So I have some laser pointers and some long throw LEP flashlights that have a straight edged condensed beam that's been measured at 2,560meters up to 3,100 meters. So I have a question for you.. I have one GH 18650 6,800mAH 3.7v and a Epoch 30P 18650 industrial series rated at 3.6v 3,000mAH 15A 10.8Wh so is there significance considering the 3.7v to the 3.6v? Also the industrial is rated at 3,000 mAH where the other is a much larger 6,800mAH what is the significance of 3,000 vs 6,800 mAH??
Also I have two lithium ion 21700
One is EPOCH INR 21700/3.7v 5,000 mAH / 10A the other is INR21700 -40T Samsung SDI how do these compare to a Lithium-ion SW26650-50ME. 18Wh 5000mAH? Also in this video he says the 26650 is an Lithium Iron Phosphate but on my battery it says it's a Lithium -ion so this video is a few years old. Did they start making the 26650 in a Lithium-ion?? Also what does the 18Wh stand for on this 26650?? The EPOCH 18650 had 10.8 Wh? The SW26650 seems to give my flashlight more power or a brighter beam compared to the EPOCK 27100 battery. Your thoughts? Thanks for your help answering any of my questions
Boosted were using a bit expensive battery. It's no wonder they're expensive.

Their batteries are not why they went out of buisiness. They went under when they branched out . Do you remember the mini and the scooter. Big branches make heavy limbs

I mean how hard is it to have a scale handy when you're going to be teaching people about battery's you know you're going to need to weigh The Cells to compare them and then you're so redundant you spend 12 minutes saying the same thing over and over again come on bro your game is better than that.... for example you didn't mention anything about the internal resistance of the cells which is one of the most important things when it comes to building a balanced battery pack. And your nominal battery power and your actual battery power are two different things. I'm in no way trying to be rude or mean my brother... but in my 45 years I've learned that you're true true Brothers will tell you when your game is slipping and failing below the Excellence you're capable of to help you better yourself. Well I try to make it easy for regular people to understand, not confuse them with every technical detail. Please understand not everyone has a background in electronics. It is hard to teach. ;)
