This song had been going through my head. I had it in my head. The O’Kanes scored a huge hit with “One True Love” from 1988, and they should have been a raging success for many years. That was Roy Yeager from Atlanta Rhythm Section behind the drum kit. One of my favorite country songs.
They were around for 4 years and charted 7 songs, 6 of them in the top 10 with Oh Darlin' reaching #1. They had a nice run, but in 1990 country music was changing and people lost interest. It's a shame because I feel like there should always be room for traditional country within the genre's mainstream.
Talk about harmony, they got it. I call it "Electric Bluegrass". How did this song not tear up the charts ? Many music fans missed out by not hearing this, what a shame.
Hard to believe Jamie is gone. I saw them 3 times in their short career together. This was one of my favorite songs and it was played all the time on the top country stations around here.
I loved this song as a kid. I always thought this is what Bill Monroe would sound like if Scotty and Bill were in the Bluegrass Boys and it was released on Sun Records
iTunes ,have these son on there list but BLUE LOVE is not on it. I have the tape, trying to find more of their song together any help would be appreicated. Just love to hear that harmony
May you Rest In Peace, Jamie O’Hara

This might be my favorite O'Kanes song. What wonderful harmonies and the writing is strong, as expected.
