Hania is my favourite place to visit of all time. Was there in Oct, 2018 and we are returning in Oct 2019, and we can't wait.!! Restaurants and shopping is top notch, and the nearby beach at Nea Chora as a must.!! Whilst we was there we was lucky to see the resident turtle three times in the harbour, and it was an awesome thing to see, so beautiful and graceful.!! The food is fantastic, especially the goat dishes which i loved. If we win the lottery, we will spend our lives in Hania

I cycled to crete from London took 24 days and I saw a huge turtle in chania harbour so yes he sounds like hes a famous resident . I didn't know that at the time and thought he was lost and was worried about his safety in 2012. Cycling to Greece is one of the best cycle tours in the world try it, the weather just gets hotter and hotter as you travel east. By the time you get to Greece you fall asleep under a tree by the beach by lunchtime because of the heat is so intense.
In france I was in the saddle cycling for ten hours one day. pefect weather sunny and cool. In Greece with the heat hitting you like a blast I cycled 4 hrs a day and was exhausted but I think it was the accumulation of cycling nearly 4000 km continuously everyday and it caught up with you by the end just wanted to sleep like jet lag. the swimming in Greece is amazing. but I never saw any surf at the time. I flew with my bicycle back to London and the flight staff let down the tyres so when I got out of the airport what a hastel to get them pumped up as my pump failed for the first time when I really needed it so luckily rode the tube home to Wimbledon .. been all over Europe on different cycle tours each year. take a month of each year pick a route and go for it best way to travel.

I spent two amazing weeks there while working for only a few days and the rest was spent walking and eating fabulous meals. I've been to all the Mediterranean Countries and Crete was by far the best. Loved it!

I have read Nana Mouskouri's autobiography "Memoirs" and know that she was born in Chania in Crete on October 13, 1934 I was indeed curious to see this very beautiful and charming Greek town Chania were she was born. It's because of Nana that I became interested in Greece, I love Greek food, the history, culture and personally know a few greek people. Although I have not been fortunate enough to travel to Greece, I hope that one day I will get the opportunity to travel there. Chania seems to retain many traditional, familiar characteristics and historical elements. Until I can one day travel to Greece, I will have to be content with documentaries and travel shows on television.

But the narrow streets are wonderful! Did you not look upwards? Have you taken a boat ride to the caves? Taken a mini-train ride into the mountains? A horse & carriage round the town? A bus to Rethymno?

I sunbathe morning noon and night usually slept hit the road. . The best is near Chania in Crete. (My opinion) is also sandy beaches and many places to visit, and modern hotels

I came to chania for winter holiday the place is fine, just around me so much pain not much job in winter! I have Albanian neighbour crying for money she will help me clain home but she never have time in the morning very active social life, other neighbour Greek I cutted my finger i forgot to bring my bandag she helped me clean the blood and wrapped my finger with bandage. I am so thankful. Next day I bought pizza to eat together she didn't wanted it OK may don't like pizza we either speak any our languages just we guess our saying! I am a good cook I live in 3 big country Izmir, Turkey, Germany, and stopped in Australia chose to be my final destination. I was never out of Australia 20 years. A part of my family From Crete. I want to stay 6 months in Greek for few reason. Meet my family, Spend my money in Greece because difficulty of economy, And eat the veggies, edible green which I can find in Australia too. Anyway I am really very carefully clean person and healthy I cook very simple tasty homemade turkish baked bean. It is really very lite food. She reject it too!. I never ever saw something like that She left it on the floor on my door! I do not think That is a Greek tradition! It hurts.

I have Albanian neighbour crying for money she will help me clain home but she never have time in the morning very active social life, other neighbour Greek I cutted my finger i forgot to bring my bandag she helped me clean the blood and wrapped my finger with bandage. I am so thankful. Next day I bought pizza to eat together she didn't wanted it OK may don't like pizza we either speak any our languages just we guess our saying! I am a good cook I live in 3 big country Izmir, Turkey, Germany, and stopped in Australia chose to be my final destination. I was never out of Australia 20 years. A part of my family From Crete. I want to stay 6 months in Greek for few reason. Meet my family, Spend my money in Greece because difficulty of economy, And eat the veggies, edible green which I can find in Australia too. Anyway I am really very carefully clean person and healthy I cook very simple tasty homemade turkish baked bean. It is really very lite food. She reject it too!. I never ever saw something like that She left it on the floor on my door! I do not think That is a Greek tradition! It hurts.

We had to cancel our holiday to Chania in June because of coronavirus. So disappointed.
