Toro Recycler 22" lawnmower oil removal

Would like to know the model number. Toro has made a variety of 22" Recyclers

It's crazy that you had to drain the oil that way.
Why couldn't Briggs and Stratton just put a drain plug at the bottom of the engine?

Supposed to be lifetime oil. No oil changes required. Just add and check
