- This is the very talented Mairead Nesbitt from Celtic Women. The pride and joy from Ireland. Mairead plays the fiddle as some would call it. Mairead always begins playing softly and eventually ends up with an incredible burst of energy that shines through her music. She displays a tremendous amount of energy when she plays and is amazing to watch.

I have seen Mairead perform four times. The first time was in the first raised seating at Xcel Center .I told myself never again.I only get row eight or better.It's worth the price.I saw her play "The Butterfly" in March 2008.She was wearing her blue with rainbow color dress.It was even more packed with her energy.
She played the" The Contradiction" right after" the Butterfly".
I am so glad you got to see her live. I keep telling people there is HUGE difference between video and live.
Mairead can do more on stage than any musician I've ever seen. Who else in the world has the grace and stamina of a figure skater and can play a vioin like her when they are standing still? Yet she is in constant motion. I will see her and the other girls tonight for the fifth time.
Well...I adore her for her beauty, in addition to her dancing, her energy and her talent. Perfect package.

I think Mairead puts more "fury" in her concert performances night after night than in the DVDs...... You gotta love that, and her.

i wanted a violin since 4th grade after i saw her in tv and now im in 8th grade i annoyed the crap out of my parents by begging to get a violin last week. i think thats the reason i dont have one yet.... if i ask calmly i normally get it within two weeks. not that im spoiled, cuz im not. im a domestic, goody-goody girl. kind of

coast of galacia....my fav song! this version is a bit different then what i heard, but its beautiful all the same. i saw her for the 1st time 4 years ago in 4th grade, on tv not real life (though i wish it was real life) and i was obsessed with mairead then again in 6th grade and now in 8th grade i am obsessed with trying to find a cheap but good quality violin. anyone who has a violin willing to sell? no, im joking

Do we like Maired for her fiddling or her dancing? She seems like a sprite on the top of the water...or do we like both? Personally, I like both and think she's great. Thanks for the video. She makes me happy.

technically and musically flawless- studio or live; it does not make a difference to Mairead. The best violinist for me and a beautiful person inside and out on top.
How about about a DVD of her performances alone? I'd buy at least 2,'cause someone always runs off with her and the other Celtic crew DVDs.

@Delgift this is a celtic woman show, you can tell by the dress and the song, the girls wouldnt perform songs that were from CW unless they had them before they sang them w CW, they would play their own songsand music
This is "The Coast of Galicia." Search for the title; there's a much better version ripped from the "Songs From the Heart" DVD. Mairead can't get any better, but the DVD clip is vastly better recorded than this cellphone bootleg.

Mairead was as wonderful as ever, but the quality of this video is disappointing. It looks and sounds like it was shot with a phone.
I never thought I'd hit "Dislike" on a Mairead Nesbitt video, but the audio quality of this one is just horrible.
I don't play violin but I think it's not easy to play like that sitting and standing.
What she does moving is ........WTF..!
