Celtic Women singing Orinoco Flow / Sail Away

- I recently saw the Celtic Women perform live and it reminded me so much of home. This song was originally performed by Enya but here the Celtic Women put their own wonderful spin to it. Most people are familiar with this song as "Sail Away".
It is so beautifully done by these wonderful girls of Ireland. They shine on stage every time. If you don't have a Celtic Women CD I recommend you invest in one... that is if you like Irish music. These girls do not disappoint. They are so enchanting and a pleasure to listen to. - Розваги
I like this version 2 and this one had four of the women there instead of three so either way they do it they too are great talented show here did I enjoy watching definite try and meet their concert tour in 2022

I'm so glad to see that some of the girls from the original group (Lisa and Chloe) have stayed with the show. I think it's good for the sound of the group to change somewhat, but to still have a little bit of the original sound intermixed. I don't think it would be Celtic Woman without at least one person from the original group singing (except for Lisa Lambe, who is quickly becoming one of my favorite members of the group).

They opened the show in Calgary with song as well, and I have to admit I had not heard them before Christmas when the special was on PBS. I was very worried when I heard the opening notes, and thought No, Not Enya! But my mouth dropped with the first notes and I was hooked, they outdid Enya! I love this song even more now than I used to.
That's what I love about these girls too! They do make eye contact with you. I was in the second row at a concert in 2008 and Mairead and Lynn both told me that they saw me. They didn't make eye contact with me, but I'm pretty sure all five of them saw me. That's so cool!
I am just PRAYING they will come back to Calgary before they all decide to move on with their careers in other directions. The closest they will come on the summer tour is Saskatoon. My children are hooked, and all have their favourites in the group. My youngest son is nuts about Lisa, and my daughter is a toss up between Chloe and Lynn. My Second Son is all about Chloe, and I'm with him on that, although Lisa is a close second for me. Her voice is closest to my own in style, and range.

It does look like Lisa is looking at the camera on a few occasions. When I was on the front row earlier this year all the girls made eye contact with everyone across the front row. It is not just their musical talent that makes them so special. They just charm the socks off of everyone. I'm having withdrawals. I need to see them live again as soon as possible.

oh they had their fare share of singing this song... both Alex and Lynn were in the group for a few years so id say both prob did 500 performances possibly more!! its been a main stay song in their shows since the first special aired and and so was you raise me up...

Originally, I like the Enya version more, but once I heard Celtic Woman's version live, my opinion changed a bit. The Enya version has little more "booming" and echo in the audio effects, but is maybe a little soft in the way the words are sung. Enya never seems to get much power into them as she sang. Celtic Woman's version was just powerful, so much so that it just about blew everyone out of their seats. I like both versions, but I can't see Enya doing a live version like Celtic Woman's.

@mali2003bu you are so lucky! not only did you get to see them live but front row?! i'm insanely jealous! i would just love a chance to see them live. i love Lisa, Chloe, and Mairead.
oh its amazing believe me!! a bit expensive too cause it includes the pre-show meet&greet aswell which you have to order on your local PBS station to get the tickets... only time i did not get it and i dont understand it still: last time i went and saw CW was in Bethel NY for the emerald production which was in a outside venue... i did the meet&greet with the girls got my pictures then we moved to the closeest handicap area because we brought my aunt whom used a walker so we needed space for that. sat down there thinking its our seats and a guy said these arent your seats and we said we need a handicap area to sit and had the vip package and he said its reserved for somebody... so i had to fricken miss Chloes beautiful Nocturne solo from moving to a dang middle spot not even close to the girls where we originaly sat in the handicap area... then somebody told me off for screaming too much but i cant help it Chloe is my fave member so i scream really loud and go nuts when she bows xd!! i just love her so much and wanted to make sure she knew it and told me she might wave to me or smile if she saw me... and the middle was terrible viewing too the screens were not that good either... it was my least fave experience by far for those reasons... we all still believe that handicap area was reserved for us because it was the closest area to the front of the stage for our vip package... other times it was at Proctors in Schenectady NY or the Palace theatere in Albany NY which are fine cause they are inside venues...
anyways if youd ever want to experience it its roughly 300-500 dollars for the vip pacage with 2 tickets that includes front row seats and the pre-show meet&greet while regular tickets can be from 100-200 dollars...
It took four very talented women to do what Enya did by herself, and without so much "busy" going on, too. Is it a beauty contest or an enchanting song? Also, Enya was not competing with her orchestration like these ladies are having to do.
Listen to Enya before watching this video and you will see what I mean.
I have 12 Celtic Woman CDs and have been to six shows (I have the CDs of all the tours I attended). Where is this at?
This simply shows you donot have to be jumping, rolling, gyrating and shaking on stage like madonna just to be sensous and sexy...
these celtic woman singers simply sing and dance so girly soft .. so gracefully they really attract attention so much, your focus is on their sensuous dancing; not anymore on the song!...
Who is it that hits that high note on the "We can sail" at the end? I can't figure out if that's Lynn or Lisa! Then again it could very well be both of them!
@dublinireland100 just because "everybody else is doing it" doesn't make it right. There are rights and all sort of such laws to all of these songs, the people performing them and especially for the performance itself. Especially for these kinds of performances in these sorts of arenas, even carrying a recording device into the concert hall is prohibited.

Alas, the only one still with the group is Mairead Nesbitt, the flying fiddler. Mairead Carlin just signed on to replace Chloe, Susan McFadden had previously replaced Lisa Kelly, who went on maternity leave and decided that four kids weren't compatible with touring, and Lisa Lambe replaced Alex and Lynn. I haven't heard the latest configuration yet, but it will still be Celtic Woman. If they ever lose Mairead Nesbitt though, it's probably over.
Steve Rush pixie has left for a solo tour and a tour with her family but will be back to replace Tara sometime

My friend here her mother likes to kill kit women's because she's ours too and so is she but you love to DVD packet that I gave her and maybe someone you have but she's really a big fan of them and I'm so excited here they're on tour again in 2022 so she's I'm going to try to get her a ticket to the show which I'm going to work on doing that and I'm in Florida and have you ever seen me to Celtic Women on tour question and this was dated in February just before Valentine's Day they're coming in March in Florida can't wait I wait for your reply

For a shot-from-the-audience bootleg, it's not bad. Most of those are unwatchable. It looks like someone smuggled in a real camcorder instead of using a phone.

Do you notice that most men are commenting that Chloe on the far right is the sexiest. See girls men do prefer a lady with a bit of padding.

yep it ticks me off when they say the name wrong. they said in one of the dvd documentaries that because each member has a different irish backround and tone makes the show so unique. :)
