- Hey guys, hope everyone is doing ok. In this video we go over the basics of Roundabouts. We'll talk about lane discipline, how to navigate them and how to correctly use your indicators and observations. Below you will find a link to the highway code. Number 185 gives a good illustration on basic roundabout lane discipline.

Glad everyone has been finding the mod 2 videos helpful and I thank everyone for the feedback. I am aware there were occasions I was over the speed limit, we all have bad habits when we first start riding. I will always take constructive criticism onboard but I will NOT tolerate silly or abusive comments on the matter. Ride safe. 🤜🤛
Absolutely the best video on the entire UA-cam regarding this particular topic. Very professional. Excellent job sir.
Thank you, Pixo. Really appreciate it.
Passed my Mod 2 about 8 months ago. My instructor told me if you are in the wrong lane it’s ok. Just carry on with all your necessary checks etc and go the way the lane dictates. You won’t fail for going the wrong direction from what the examiner tells you. It’s all about how you ride and is it proper not your navigation skills :)
If you've passed, why are you here again.
Why does it matter whether they’ve passed or not? Doesn’t hurt to keep it fresh in your mind. Don’t understand why people feel the need to make ignorant comments like that.
@@freedom14639 because you never stop learning and it’s a good refresher to go back to basics sometimes.
Every single time your out on the road your learning believe me
Brilliant timing. Got my mod 2 in a month only thing bothering me was roundabouts disciplines...this is going to get a fair few watches over the next few weeks. Thanks a lot ☺️
All the best for your Mod 2. If you have any questions feel free to ask. 🙂
@@MotoEcosse Thanks a lot. Got a 125 booked for a day hire in Thursday going to spend in on different kinds of roundabout around the test centre.
That's good. I definitely felt riding about by myself on the 125 definitely helped a lot. Start if at smaller roundabouts and work your way up. 👍
I promise you you’re a massive help I got a little muddled up with life savers on roundabouts but I feel I’m ready for any roundabout after days of watching your videos thank you you’re channel is by far underestimated you a top guy MOD1 for me in the morning slightly nervous not going to lie but looking forward to it at the same time if I pass my mod1 and 2 I will advise everyone to come watch your channel thanks again
😁👍
Hey, I want to thank you for explaining this so clearly. Where I live there is like, one roundabout and it's fairly quiet with one lane and I struggled riding around Ayr for my direct access. This helped me so much when I was learning and definitely helped me pass. So again thank you!
Brilliant video, thank you so much! My instructor is going to be so impressed (hopefully) by all that you have taught me in this vid - great work!!
First time watching your videos and I must say I feel so confident as I go for my mod 2 as a result of how clear and precise you explain things. Thanks for making roundabouts and exits so clear
Your welcome, Henry. Glad you found them helpful. All the best for test day. 🤜🤛
Really useful thanks. I passed mod 1 last week and have mod 2 next week, your videos have helped with my general confidence on the bike. I've been driving for many years but i was struggling with roundabouts on the bike so this came up just in time 👍
I've never stepped over a bike but I am going to take my tests this year. So i've been watching hours of videos and these are by far the best and things really seem to make sense now. I'm really hoping it all clicks into place when i begin training.
Thanks so much for these videos. Passed Mod 2 this morning. These videos really supported the couple of instruction days and practice that I did - so clear and calmly delivered. Cheers.
You're welcome bud and well done on the pass. Congratulations. 🤜🤛
Absolutely brilliant advice, your this is the best information video I have watched , keep up the brilliant work.
Just passed my mod 2, and want to say thanks for all your help, stay safe ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Nice one! I think I even learnt something new even after so many years driving cars!
Thanks for your videos! I'm a new rider in Australia and appreciate the detail you put into your videos filled with lots of varying examples. Driven a million roundabouts but on a bike it feels so different.
Cheers, Kurt. Yeah you're absolutely right. Roundabouts on a bike feel completely different, you definitely feel just how vulnerable us bikers are. 🤜🤛
This is one of the best tips I’ve watched and heard! Literally done my Mod2 yesterday failed it due to a roundabout and indicating to early 🤦🏽♂️but from watching your video it’s proper helpful and I feel more confident now 🤙🏽
Appreciate that mate. Sorry about your mod 2. At least you're feeling more confident about the next one. 🤜🤛
This is a great video . I am having issues with the roundabouts at the moment and training for my mod 2 and just don’t seem to be progressing well with them. So really glad to find this.
Thankyou for your insight and experience, and especially for taking the time to record and share. Good UA-camr!
Appreciate that, Palmit. 🤜🤛
Great job on the channel mate. Passed my mod 2 on Friday with no faults. I took your advice and talked to myself all the way through, even did the roundabouts in a Scottish accent.... ."Big lifesaver " as you would say!! Thanks again mate!!👍
Brilliant news mate. Congratulations. Talking to yourself make such a difference. Love the fact you did it in a Scottish accent as well. 😂😂. 🤜🤛
Lots of great info here. Got my DAS booked for 24th April. Your Vids are very useful. Thanks for taking the time to do these
Best of luck with the DAS mate. Glad the videos are helping. 🤛🤜
Just found your channel. Passed my theory yesterday so I've subscribed to prepare for my mod 1 and 2. Very well explained, thanks.
Appreciate that man. Congrats on passing your theory test. 🤜🤛
Thank you so much for this. I've got my Mod 2 a week today and I'm bricking it, mostly for Roundabouts -- Absolute nightmare. This has helped me a lot.
Glad you found it useful man. All the best for your mod 2. 🤜🤛
I'd love to be taught by you. I've learned my lesson, only took 50 years. When people keep telling you, you should teach, you should listen. You are a complete natural and I'm glad to read that you are looking into it. Bravo!
Really appreciate that man. 🤜🤛🙌
goes to show years doesnt mean much, annoys me when Bikers think there a better rider than myself just because they have an extra 5 years on the road compared to my 6
Your mod 2 videos helped me pass. Thanks and best wishes!
Watched this 10 mins ago as I have my mod2 this morning. This video gave me the lightbulb moment with a topic that was really bothering me! Thank you
Good to hear mate. All the best for today. 🤜🤛
Ive needed this video! I passed my cbt a few weeks ago and roundabouts scare the crap out of me lol!! watching this video has helped me kick my arse and Im going out tomorrow and will tackle some solo for the first time, thank you 😃
Glad you found it helpful mate. 🤜🤛
Great video thanks, that clock system has so made things easy for me 👍
If anyone in Scotland wants somewhere with plenty of roundabouts to practice on, head on over to East Kilbride, or 'polo mint city' as it's often known.
Great videos. As a 54 year old who has been driving a car for over 35 years and new to motorbikes, it gives a really good perspective of how you need to think in a different way. I'm currently on a 125, practicing for my DAS and the brakes are linked on these bikes. I'd love to see a video about the correct and appropriate use of independent front and rear brakes.
Hi, Terry. Glad you've decided to take up riding. Honestly one of the best things I've done. I can absolutely do a brakes video. I've got a few videos left in the mod 2 series going up over the next few weeks, so I'll get that video up as well. In the meantime, if you have any questions related to braking, feel free to ask. Appreciate the comment and ride safe. 👍
You just dicribed me .I,m same boat as you Terry 54 got a 125 for getting a bit experience etc . Good luck with your DAS. 👍
@@MotoEcosse Excellent thanks. your videos are really good. I keep watching them over and over, like exam revision.
@@TerryDavis66 Appreciate that, Terry. 🤜🤛
I just passed my Mod 2 first time with no previous rider experience thanks to your awesome videos.... many thanks.
Awesome to hear mate. Congratulations. 🤜🤛
Thank you so much for the detailed video! Can completely relate with the roads as I live in Glasgow. I'm currently taking my MOD1 practice lessons in Glasgow and I made two mistakes - I took wrong exits in a roundabout, twice. It's confusing cuz I've owned and ridden motorcycle in the US. UK is a different ballgame and your video was very helpful. Really appreciate your efforts, mate!
Glad you found it helpful mate. Yeah spent a lot of time in Glasgow and some of the roundabouts can be a bit daunting at first. 🤜🤛
Another fantastic tutorial, learnt some more stuff here, great job!
Thank you, Richard. 🤜🤛
Thanks for these excellent videos. They have been great to increase my confidence and skills before the test...and have passed ! :)
Great video, have my Mod 1 & 2 tomorrow and roundabouts are still daunting. This puts it all into perspective. Thanks 👍🏼🤞
I passed my Mod 1 and 2!🎉 Thanks so much for these videos, they definitely helped me massively!!
A superbly informative video, thanks for making it!!
You're more than welcome, Dave. 🤜🤛
Went out on the 125 tonight for some practice. Not been out for 2 weeks due to nasty weather. Suddenly forgot how to do OS(L)MPSL on roundabouts! Nice to be able to come home and watch a refresher like this. Managed to find a booking for my Mod1&2 in October so practice is everything now!
Fantastic, Terry. Glad you managed to get both mods booked. Your understanding of OSMPSL is absolutely spot on. That lifesaver before the maneuver. 👌
I watched your videos last night and would like to thank you, I passed my mod 2 this morning. Your videos helped me so much. Massive thanks bro
Glad it helped, Alexander. Congrats on passing mate. Well done. 🤜🤛
Been watching these videos and studying them and I just passed mod 2. If you are about to take mod2 then these videos are really helpful. Thanks👍😀
All the best for your test mate. 🤜🤛
Just did my mod 1 last month and had my first mod 2 lesson last week. I was told by my instructor I was too hesitant at roundabouts and junctions (driving like a car driver as he put it). This video was a great help and will hopefully help me with my next lesson.
Yeah you'll find at the start that you will be a bit hesitant. That's totally normal. Once your confidence and skill builds it's becomes way easier and more natural.
Amazing video, very useful for learners like me! 👏
Wasn’t sure of which video to post this on but I’ll do it here, I had issues with my lane discipline and watching you’re videos helped me and I passed my Mod 2 yesterday 👊🏾
Excellent. Glad the videos helped. Congratulations on passing mate. 🤜🤛
Unfortunatly I’ve failed my mod2 twice due to crossing/changing lanes when on a roundabout! Same thing both times:( now I’ve found this video I’m going to watch the shit out of it! Wish me luck for my 3rd try! 😆 awesome video btw, thanks for covering this!!
Sorry to hear that man. Hopefully the videos help man. If you have any queries on anything mod 2 related let me know. 🤜🤛
This is bloody brilliant. I’ve been driving 15 years and learned something 😂 cbt. Booked and this will prove invaluable for both cbt and future mod 2. Just thinking about all the local roundabout I use the wrong lane for
Glad you found it useful, David. 🤜🤛
Don't normally comment but these videos without doubt helped me pass my Mod 2 yesterday, thanks again.
That's awesome to hear, Darron. Congratulations on the pass mate. 🤜🤛
Keep the vids coming. I passed my mod 2 last December and your vids were a big help. You gave me an extra hit of confidence. Keep calm and don’t give up even if you think you’ve made a mistake. The examiners are bikers and want bikers to pass. Don’t think they want to nitpick and fail you. How about a quick vid on yellow boxes at traffic lights?
Glad you managed to get passed and I'm happy the videos helped. Yeah I've got a few videos coming over the next few weeks, with all of the above included. 👍
Very very informative video and clear explanation thank you
Very helpful- great clarity - thank you
Glass you found it helpful, Graham. 🤜🤛
Awsome video, Very helpful.
Mod 2 on Wednesday thanks for all the videos!! Fingers crossed!!
I have my mod 2 in a few days and this video looks very helpful. I am most nervous about changing gears smoothly before and on roundabouts. Please consider that as a future video! 👍
Hey, B C. You shouldn't really need to change gears on a roundabout, you should be in a gear that's flexible enough to take you round the roundabout, similar to cornering. As for before the roundabout, always approach at a manageable speed and preferably in 2nd, so if it's clear, you can carry on onto the roundabout. If you need to stop then down to 1st. It's really no different to junctions, crossings, traffic lights etc. Look for a good gap then nice smooth clutch and throttle control. Hope this helps. If you're needing anymore info let me know. 🤜🤛
Thanks for teaching me...After 2-3 weeks of watching your videos I passed my cbt
Great to hear, Harrison. Congrats mate. 🤜🤛
awesome video again fella, thank you
Appreciate that, Doug. 🤜🤛
Earned a subscriber 😀 really thorough video 👍

Thank you so much for this video I’ve just turned 16 and about to do my cbt and I was scared of going near a round about but this video had helped me so much and I think I can safely enter and exit a round about now
That's great to hear your more relaxed about roundabouts, Oliver. Have fun on your CBT. It's a great day. 🤜🤛

Hi there, who is the guy who has bought a grom for practice, and you said it is a great bike for a learner ,that is exactly what I have done ,my wee grom is cherry red and a kracker bought her from two wheels in Edinburgh, makes sense to buy your own 125 as saves money on lessons and what's more iconic than a grom x😊
I passed my mod 2 today first try! I was in the wrong lane and carried on to a small side road (almost crossed the lane) and told the examiner at the end, he told that me following the lane saved me retaking my test. I would've been screwed without this video. You should teach!
That's awesome to hear mate, as long as it is safe it's usually fine. Hoping to start instructor training the year. 🤜🤛
Thank you again : )
Unfortunately failed my mod 2 yesterday as was in a wrong lane at a roundabout otherwise would of passed with 2 minors, so going over your roundabout videos while I wait for a new test date 😀
Ah hardlines mate. You'll smash it next time. 🤜🤛
Hey, Passed my mod 2 today with perfect pass, thank you again for your Videos they defo helped me a bunch 😀
@@harryduke968 That's awesome, Harry. Congratulations mate. Perfect pass as well. Well done. 🤜🤛
Got my MOD 2 tomorrow. Had a lesson today and was probably the worst 2 hours I've had on a bike since I've started the DAS. I'm fairly competent usually but found myself making silly mistakes with lane discipline and not watching out for road signs. My instructor said it'd be a rough lesson but I'm more annoyed because I know I'm better than that display today. Despite the rant I'm going to try and see what happens anyway... I appreciate all the content mate it's helped settle some nerves!
Good luck for today, Liam. 🤜🤛
@@MotoEcosse Passed with 2 minors. Cheers pal!
Duuuuuuuude! I did my CBT today! Cheers for all of your excellent videos, I even got the right lane on the roundabout! 😁 Now I need to get me something to practice the sh#@ out on before I even think about going further. Cheers
Mate that's amazing, congratulations. Yeah I definitely felt that riding a 125 for a while made so much difference. Good job on tackling that roundabout 🤜🤛
@@MotoEcosse Cheers mate. So much information to squeeze into my head so much practice on a 125 is definitely the way to go. I do suffer with over thinking it and then beating myself up for making a mistake or three, but hey, I have my CBT, so woohoo. Onwards and upwards 😁
Yeah there is a lot to take in on CBT day so don't worry about silly mistakes, everyone does it. The best thing to do is to realise what mistake you made, how you would fix it next time then move on. You'll be surprised just how quickly you pick things up and how it all makes sense the more you ride, especially if you go out by yourself on a 125.
@@MotoEcosse Indeed. I think some riding around on my own, just to get used to the bike without the instructor talking in my ear will be useful. Alas, there's only so much my brain can process at the same time...haha, should've done this when I was younger 😁 I'll get there though and keep watch your videos for encouragement. Cheers 👌
Superb video many thanks! I have my Mods coming up in August and your videos are proving invaluable 👍
However, on my CBT, we were taught to take Lane position one when taking the first or second exit on a roundabout (Assuming both before the 12 o clock position)
This didn't make sense to me as you would lose command of the lane, inviting motorists to attack down your right side 🤷♂️ But we did it because we were told to. (CBT done on YBR125)
So, many thanks for clearing that up mate 😁
Hey, Gary. Not sure why they would teach you that. Roundabouts, traffic lights etc you should always stay in position 2. This is something that was always made clear while I was learning. As you said it leaves you vulnerable on the right. 🤜🤛
@@MotoEcosse Thanks man. I thought so and was getting concerned about it for Mod2 🤷♂️ Many thanks again for the great videos!
All the best 👍
man Gimli from LOTR gives some great advice on roundabouts. I could listen to a Scotsman speaking all day long XD
🤣😂
Great videos! Very helpful when learning and clear and concise explanations! Just a quick question do you do a lifesaver on approach to the roundabout if your staying in position 2? Also if you do need to give way on the roundabout do you do another lifesaver before setting off? Thanks in advance keep up the great work!!
Hey, Al. No you don't need to do one on approach, if you need to stop at the roundabout to giveway then you would have to do your left and right check before setting off to make sure it's clear to either side of you. 🤜🤛
Not the most interesting videos to some but I have fiunbd your videos really valuable so I would like to "Thank You" for taking the trouble :-)
Hey - Love the videos , so helpful and informative , thank you very much ! I have a Question - in traffic - should you keep 2 bike length when stationary on your mod 2? Cheers !
Cheers mate. Yeah about 2 bike lengths will give you a good gap to vehicle in front. 🤜🤛
I've just failed my mod 2 today. But watching this video, is basically everything you mentioned I got wrong in the test which caused me to fail. I pray after watching this video, learning from you I'll pass the retake module 2, but I appreciate the video uploaded 🙏🏽
That's hardlines mate. You'll smash it next time. All the best dude. 🤜🤛
@@MotoEcosse thanks very much bro much love 👊🏽

Cheers, Eddie. 🤜🤛
Another great video thank you. I'm definitely going to clarify the life saver situation with my instructor again. I was told off for doing a left hand life saver when approaching an exit and was told to always do a right life saver unless I'm taking the first exit on the roundabout. Me personally I would've thought a left life saver is important incase someone tries to cut in on your left especially a cyclists or another motorcycle, and especially after you've passed a junction, then you can do a right lifesaver. You have made it quite clear that you only need to do a right life saver if there is more than one lane, but my instructor didn't say this. Your theory makes sense thank you. I'm going to double check this on my lesson on Thursday.
Yeah the left life saver is an absolute must before taking an exit. If you have to do a right life saver it's always done before the left.
These are a few of the sites I used while studying during lockdown.

@@MotoEcosse thank you so much for your reply. I'm definitely going to have to clarify all this with my instructor. As I mentioned I did do a left lifesaver but was told not to do lefts unless turning on first exit. I thought it was strange and I asked my boyfriend who has been riding for 40 years and he agreed with me. I would hate to fail my mod2 cause of given incorrect information. I'm there on Thursday so I will double check everything with them. Thanks again 👍
Not sure why your instructor would say that. Left life savers must be used on exits to make sure your clear to take the exit. Your instructor may their own way of doing things, as a lot of instructors do, but they still have to follow highway code etc. Definitely clarify it with your instructor, if in doubt, get a second opinion. Those links i posted clearly state left life savers must be used before exits. Hopefully you get it sorted on Thursday.
@@MotoEcosse I agree with you. I'm not sure either. Thanks for posting the links it's really helpful. I was doing everything that they, and yourself are saying so I will definitely bring it up.
@@janinew233 no problem. Let me know how you get on.
Great video again Ecosse. Hey, do you wear earplugs when you're riding? If so, are they the foam ones?
Appreciate that bud. Yes mate, I use Alpine earplugs. Amazing quality and fairly priced. You can pick them up on Amazon or Ebay. The ones I use are Alpine Moto Safe. 👍
Hi,
If you are turning right on a roundabout whereby two lanes turn right, would you still indicate right irrespectively? As I am getting confused on how the 'outter' right hand lane - it would feel, to me, that to indicate right, the persons in the 'innermost' right hand lane may feel that I am cutting them up?
What would the expectation be on MOD 2 for this?
Thanks
Passed my mod 2 yesterday 👍 Your videos helped a lot, thanks for taking the time and effort to make these, much appreciated 🏍️👌👊
That's awesome to hear, Stewart. Congratulations. Glad you found the videos helpful. Ride safe bud. 🤜🤛
@@MotoEcosse Cheers 🤘
Nice one I think I failed on that right lifesaver . Got another test booked.
Good luck with it, Jimmy. 🤜🤛
Is positioning for roundabouts different for bikes upto 125cc? Just done my CBT and the instructor made us do position 1 for left and straight and to hug position 3 for a right turn 😅. Great content by the way!! 🤙
Thanks I just failed my mod 2 yesterday over the line change on the roundabout as you said can catch you out..it did me🥴🤦♂️

That's hard lines, Terry. All the best for the next one. 🤜🤛
@@MotoEcosse yep gutted just not my day …thanks 🥂🙏
You should come to Rawtenstall , the main roundabout has 17 , yes 17 ons and offs ,with mostly no road markings , TommyTickle
Nice vid so let me just clear this up if the first exit is straight on do you always signal left on approach?
Exactly that mate. 👍
Once question I have is if u need to go on inside lane how do u exit, do you have to slowly merge into outside lane or on ur exit do you just go straight across?
I'm not entirely sure what you mean, Logan. If you need to go on an inside lane you would get into the correct lane on approach. If for any reason you had to move lanes, only do so if it's absolutely clear. If it's a mod 2 situation and you feel you're in the wrong lane, don't try and switch lanes, just stay in the lane you're in and take the exit for the lane you're in. It will mean taking the wrong exit but as long as you do it safely there won't be an issue. If it's something else you're stuck with let me know. 🤜🤛
Crackin videos i drive about Stirling a lot ... we wont say anything about your speed .. lol
Super commentary on this video.
Quick question, do you blip throttle when changing down
I personally don't do it. I know a lot of people that do. Might have to start doing it to check out the difference.
@@MotoEcosse thanks.
I’ve got a Royal Enfield Interceptor . Ok to change down without blipping as it’s got a slipper clutch. I took test on a MT 07 that hasn’t got slipper clutch. If you let the clutch out too sharply then the back end can twitch a bit!!!!
@@beverleynorth4914 Sounds fun lol. I've never done on the SV and never had any issues. I'll mess around with it next time I'm out.
At 19:47 you indicate left leaving mini-roundabout going straight, pretty sure you shouldn’t, but I would appreciate if you could provide a link to where it says you must do this on a mini-roundabout
If you taking the 12 oclock exit, do you need to signal before taking the exit? That is if its the first exit, also, if not, is it an issue to signal?
Hey, Simao. Yep, if the 1st exit is at 12 o'clock still signal to the left as it's still the 1st exit and don't forget that right lifesaver. 🤜🤛
great vids, @20:05 you signal left for coming off, could you get a minor for not doing that, my instructor said (or at least it was my understanding) not need for signal if straight on and no exit right (also do you do a lef)t lifesaver when exiting, thanks!
Not for a mini roundabout, no. Life savers usually aren't needed. It's just the way I like to do them as I've had run ins with cars in the past on mini's. 🤜🤛
@@MotoEcosse thanks for replying, keep up the great work!
Can I ask about lane position….when approaching a junction to turn left , in OSMPSL we position ourselves slightly left, why does this not apply with roundabouts? Surely we have the same dangers of people under and over taking us?
On roundabouts you're not turning into a junction, so you have to approach it differently, you're basically approaching the roundabout in the appropriate lane, then moving onto the roundabout. You stay in position 2 while doing this to minimise the chances of other road users trying to pass on either side which is a big no no on roundabout lanes.
Another great video 👍 now become an instructor 👍👍👍
I second the motion! 👍
I'm looking into doing my IAM course this year so who knows. It would be an awesome job.
@@MotoEcosse Nice! As I said once before, I think you'd be a natural as an instructor 😁
Sometimes when you come off a roundabout it will go into two lanes but quickly merge into one. In this case which lane is it better to come off into ?
In cases like that I'd probably favour the left lane. It all depends on road signs, road markings and how busy the lanes are.
@13:17 when you say the roundabout doesn't look like the sign - I can see a first exit to the Business Centre which you went past - if you consider that exit then it matches the sign right ? Or is there a reason why that is not an exit ? Sorry , I just got my CBT done and getting a 125 cc soon so going through a lot of videos to understand the road etiquette better - thank you for this video.
By not matching the sign, I mean the second exit, not the first to the business centre which is still the first exit. The 2nd is past 12 so a lot of people can get confused and use the right lane, when in fact the signs shows the second exit at 12 o'clock for reference so the road user knows what lane to use
@@MotoEcosse Ahh ok , my bad ! yes the second exit is past 12 o'clock. thank you for clarifying !
@@sunilstalkin Not a problem bud. 🤜🤛
Hi I Done my mod 2 last week I was just about 5 mints away from the test centre and he failed me for the second time i was coming to a round about and there was a car 🚗 coming out off retail park and he said I jumped lanes
My instructor keeps saying I have to do a left lifesaver before I signal on a roundabout, even if I'm going straight on, being in the left hand lane of a 2 lane roundabout, I should left shoulder check (not right where there's a gap) before I signal as I go past the left hand turn. This doesn't feel right yet I'm told this is what instructors are looking for on Mod 2. Is this correct ?
Not sure why your instructor wants you to do a life saver before signalling. Life savers are the last thing you do before moving position or taking exits. The general rule is to always do a life saver where there's a lane next to you. For example, if you're in the left hand lane going straight on, 2nd exit. You would signal after you'd passed the first exit then do a right life saver as there's a lane to your right. There would be no lane to your left, so in theory you wouldn't have to do a left life saver, but some instructors teach differently. I was taught to always do a left life saver, whether it's needed or not. This was also the way I rid on my test and had no issues.
@@MotoEcosse Yes thank you. I will be checking the gaps as you advise. Does feel more natural and safer
