I've never watched a video and felt like I was seeing my own hair, and then after seeing a few vids I found out that you're Haitian too! I almost want to cry.
Tfs. My daughter (10 year old) likes her hair straight & so for Easter I took her to the shop, as heat & I don't get along. I thought she had major heat damage after the 1st wash, but after some deep conditioning and hot oil treating her curls are popping.
lol!! Do we have twin hair? Uh .. I think so. Only thing though, since I have been natural, I have not fully straightened my hair. So it always is very course and braided up in protective styles. Honestly, I don't know how long my hair is and since It looks really short ... I tell myself that it is short and maybe next year I will straighten it.
Once there is heat damage is it it permanent? I've been blowdrying/flat ironing recently and the front is completely straight. It doesn't even feel like 4c hair. Will I have to cut it off to go back?
Tracy Turner Unfortunately, damage is permanent. Try doing a protein treatment, which I hear can help. You can slowly cut off the straight ends as your hair grows back, sorta like transitioning from damage to healthy though. x
Jenn ! your hair is amazing and you're so brave to handle it . I have the same texture and i've been natural for 2 years now but i experience so much tangles because my hair is so thin and extremely dry . i just don't know what to do i can't even imagine rocking a hairstyle because i'm afraid of breakage so i only do puff . Can someone help me ?
Put your hair in protective styles like twists or braids or cornrows, moisturise daily, don't comb too often, when your hair is out, be gentle with it and use things by the brands cantu and Shea moisture
my hair is relaxed but how can i make it natural? should cut everything off or stop relaxing the hair for months and later cup the tips? please help me i really love natural hair, i had them before but my friends force me to relax it and now they are shorter than before but i am regretting it because they keep breaking every day. solutions please
Hi, I have been natural for 7 years now and it is a personal journey that you can take pride in no matter what ur friends thinks. Hey! Its your hair lol. But anyway it's all up to you of how u want to go natural again. You could do a big chop and have an inch of beautiful curls. Or wait til it grows out a few months to a resonable lenght and get some UA-cam tips on how to manage it. Than cut the ends. Either way it will be liberating I'm sure lol. Good luck!!
Stop getting relaxers. Go on UA-cam and check out vids from people like her, naptural85, thechicnatural, and sadora paris. Grow your hair out for a year so that when you do start cutting, you will have enough hair for a twa.
+Grace Okolo I agree with the other comments. You an either do a big chop or you can slowly transition and gradually cut the ends until you have all natural hair again.
This is NOT HATE. I just wanna know what is the secret to keep your hair clean for one month without washing them. Seriously, beside don't wash them, how can you manage to do it? Do you use other products, like dry shampoo? Because after one day I start to feel my hair horrible, and I really don't know, I have to keep in a ponytail from the second day and I end up washing them after two days, not more. :(
It's just because the texture of the hair, very textured and curly hair is drier and needs more days to distribute the natural oils of your scalp. And the habits you have as well, your scalp learns and adapts. When I was younger I had to wash my hair every 3-4 days because that's when it started to feel horrible. But if I started to wait longer, after a few washes that didn't happen anymore, now I wash my hair every 7-10 days and it doesn't look like a mess.
yep, that's true, in the summer is terrible because I have like one (or more) shower a day, and my hair, reeeeally feels horrible after one day, maybe as you said because they adapt to that, but I guess one month would be impossible to me, even if I really try hard because maybe yes I have thinner hair. But, I had my hair curled up professionally for a photoshoot, all the head in like a 3a-b texture, and I have to admit I could keep on not washing them for more than I did, I guess also the "frizziness" helps to not be the greasy noticeable?
Ilaria Edera I know what you mean, I don't really know if it's healthy or not. Maybe a doctor would know better. Personally I couldn't do a month either, for me 1 week - 10 days is perfect, not longer than that. But everyone is different.
Ilaria Edera Usually, I wash my hair every week so roughly 7 days. However, I very randomly straighten my hair though so i didn't want to wash it right away as I was enjoying the ease of having it straight. Also, like afireinside0 mentioned, with our texture of hair, it can get really dry if washed too often. Admittedly, my scalp wasn't happy but I stuck with it lol
Damage really can be at anytime... i straightened my hair all the time the 1st time i went natural with out and heat protectant just oils..(not a good idea) Then when it started to grow out the next year i straightened the front because i was bored and it didnt revert back.. and it was literally a swipe ;( I even put a little bit of bio-silk therapy before straightening it.
I'm 4c also there's too many people to search through on UA-cam just to find you I just subscribed I would watch others and wonder why my hair doesn't match there's ... I bought so many products listening to them smh
+Lisa Tiana I KNOW RIGHT!! I had no idea my hair was 4C because their hair seemed more looser in coils and her hair is exactly like mine when it hits water it shrinks so bad...so I guess I am a 4C then.
Man I wish I was this lucky lol I got really bad damage had to cut all my hair today but lol that’s not even it I have to cut alllll the way down am I sad no not really but I don’t know how I’m going to look with a some what bald hair 😂😭😢 child it hurts
+Lifeisaluxury_ I have been considering it lately to be honest when my hair isn't acting like I want it too but like @Cindy9965 says, I big chopped a few years ago and want to let to grow natural for now. x
+Silly Goose The amount of times you wash your hair in a certain period, has nothing to do with your race. It just depends on your hair texture. Not all blacks have kinky hair. #justsaying :)
Great hair....
90% of shrinkage = healthy hair...
Thanks for sharing
Lol it was ! Went from 50 to 75 to 95% shrunken hat lol
algeretta LOL

queenjo28 A Aww I am glad I can help! xx
@@JennJackson please help I also wants to revert my hair to natural
I've never watched a video and felt like I was seeing my own hair, and then after seeing a few vids I found out that you're Haitian too! I almost want to cry.
omg I love your natural hair texture!
+rockdotgirl aw thank you
How the heck did you keep your hair straight for so long in this weather girl! You are goooood! And the shrinkage is soooo real!
Charnel Grey I know! it wasn't so humid yet so I got lucky :)
Thats why im glad im from ny winter is the best for natural hair
Try doing an aphogee protein treatment for the stubborn areas...since the heat 'damage' doesn't seem severe.
LuClu81 I don't even think a protein treatment is needed. I just washed and deep conditioned my hair again and they seem to have reverted back 100%.
your hair is gorgeous and reverted back so nicely! I always say a prayer after straightemimg my hair lol
+J. Joelle LOL I know what you mean

Thank you! I'll try that. I hope it helps
Did you wash your hair with cold or warm water

But also, even if they don't look bad, is not a good thing to have a good wash to your scalp more than once a month?…JUST ASKING.
Ilaria Edera I know what you mean, I don't really know if it's healthy or not. Maybe a doctor would know better. Personally I couldn't do a month either, for me 1 week - 10 days is perfect, not longer than that. But everyone is different.

She does not want to relax her hair. That's why she did the big chop in the beginning. To get nice, healthy, beautiful, natural hair.
+Lifeisaluxury_ I have been considering it lately to be honest when my hair isn't acting like I want it too but like @Cindy9965 says, I big chopped a few years ago and want to let to grow natural for now. x
