@Tucker Johnson I am Brazilian i was Born in Brazil moved to the states when i was young. My father got Deported when i was 8. I spent the summers there in 3rd countries the prisons are safer then the streets. The kids there are watched closely and protected. And on the outside they will see just as much violence. If not more.
If you REALLY want to know about the corruption in this place, read 'Marching powder' by Rusty Young, a tourist turned writer who helped a prisoner escape. Excellent book!
Brandon Sutton the guards wouldn’t just hand you over, they would literally take the option which leads to them earning the most money. And that option might be letting you go, if you can tip them enough
Damn this is heartbreaking. Their country is so messed up that people voluntarily stay there because otherwise they'd die anyway. It just goes to show how grateful each and every one of us should be for having the things we have. I feel so lucky to be born in a wealthy country. And I feel so terrible for these people.
I live here Luckily i don't have it that bad. But yeah, the levels of poverty delinquency and corruption here.. i almost forgot that is not the same on other places, you just get used to it i guess
Life in there is better then life outside where they don’t have there husband or a place to live. At least there, they have somewhat of roof over there head.
They are probably extremely poor and uneducated. Their only small income most likely came from their husband and just barely got them by for food, shelter, and clothing. Now that he's locked up the mother and children have no other option but to go there or be homeless, unless family takes them in. In Bolivia's harsh weather they would die on the street. Better to take your chances in the prison and at least have your husband for support and protection. Daycare and full-time employment for these mother's to support themselves and their children I'm sure is rarely an option.
I spent a night in a county lockup for drunk in public. Got a little too... energetic at a concert. They just threw all of us into the drunk tank to sober up then cut us all out the next day. It was the first time ever in jail. I always told people it was the worst experience ever. After watching this video and the one from Madagascar, I believe my statement was...incorrect. "worst experience ever" is a term used too often and when not even close to being accurate.
My first episode was watching the prison in Madagascar and I have to say this jail right here is five star service compared to that one. What amazes me is they service a better justice system for child molesting predators than many others.
At 28:15 I see the pool and I'm like, "Why is no one in the pool, I'd totally be chilling in there." 5 seconds later, "we drown them in that pool." Oof
I think the saddest part about this whole video is the children that live here. They have to live with nasty people who should not be anywhere near children.
Watching things like this make me feel less bad about the fact I have to wake up at 4am to go to work. I'm so incredibly grateful I just get to live a normal life. Wow
@@rubensito2818 The narrator said he was in for armed robbery. I'm wondering if getting beaten is part of some sort of prison initiation for new prisoners, apart from the "top tier" ones, obviously. I'm curious to know what came of him, too. Unfortunately, even if he did manage to make it out alive, he'll most likely return to prison since there are so few (legal) opportunities in Bolivia. He would probably stand a change if he was able to get a decent job, but those seem to be in short supply and his record will most likely preclude him from moving out of the country, so he's basically doomed to a life of wash, rinse, repeat until he dies.

Is it just me or does this prison looks extremely easy to escape from with the roofs and the wall all together and on the same level?
It’s extremely easy, there are even 30 ft ladders in there.
Brandon Sutton the guards wouldn’t just hand you over, they would literally take the option which leads to them earning the most money. And that option might be letting you go, if you can tip them enough
@Brandon Sutton and if you escape from there? Might as well escape into the jungle and cut all contacts with all civilization..........
I would just walk out, honestly.
The prison wall is very high. You jumó down from there you’ll die. I was there last year it’s a deep drop onto cement.
Damn this is heartbreaking. Their country is so messed up that people voluntarily stay there because otherwise they'd die anyway. What a strange prison. Allowing women and children in it. That's sick.
Its a gated community lol
It's mind boggling...
You haven't seen nothing yet go to black dolphin it's way worser than this prison

I spent a night in a county lockup for drunk in public. Got a little too... energetic at a concert. They just threw all of us into the drunk tank to sober up then cut us all out the next day. "worst experience ever" is a term used too often and when not even close to being accurate.
