Thank you. In the late 60's my wife and I were often touring Skye and the Western Isles on our Triumph Bonneville, the roads were much less crowded back then but the views although in black and white were just as amazing, thank you again for bringing back those memories.
Cracking series , just working my way through it . That flat top mountain in the distance is MacLeod's Table , My daughter and I stayed in Dunvegan some years ago , which overlooks the said Table . I get up to the Highlands a lot on the bike and it's really nice to see it through someone else's eyes . Did the Castle , seal trip and coral beach just up the road ( Cows on the beach ! ) . You mentioned dolphins in the previous video , we saw a school of them at Talisker Bay on the same trip . I believe if you're lucky enough , Killer Whales can be seen off the north West coast of Skye at the right time of year . Incidentally , as a child I lived in Mount Blow overlooking the Auchentoshan Distillery , the opposite side of the Erskine Bridge to the hotel you stayed at . Was up there again on the bike last summer and did the Uig road , up the west side , over the top and down the east past the Old Man of Storr down to Portree , it's a must if you haven't done it yet , mostly single track though , which is my preference . These videos are giving me deep yearnings and an urge to get back up there at the earliest opportunity , once this craziness is properly behind us .
This video was a real treat...I last visited the UK in 1993 and made it to Skye on that trip. In those days there was no bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh...just a small ferry. Your video really took me back in time...I arrived at Skye via the West Highland railway and departed via the ferry at Mallaig.
I’ve been riding the roads on Skye and the Highlands for quite a few years and they never fail to deliver pure riding nirvana. Just Epic. I will be departing for the Highlands this Thursday. Can’t wait!!
So sweet,TMF! Thanks for sharing. Just got a BMW G310R a few weeks back and I'm loving riding. This place looks like a lot of fun! Every time I hear you speak of how heavy your bike is, I love mine even more. It's just so....well, you know! Your the one who introduced me to the baby BMW! Thanks for everything, TMF. Love the channel! Drone is awesome
Cheers and congratulations on the bike. Don’t get me wrong, I love the big GS - it doesn’t feel as heavy as most Big adventure bikes and it’s size/Power makes it a joy for mile munching on motorways....
Thanks for taking us along on this tour, couple a things as follows if you don't mind: 1.) Thanks for blending in maps every now and then 👍👍 much appreciated as i am the kind of guy that stops the video and then use google maps to work out where the rider is....so this is GREAT as it saves me from doing that. 2.) No annoying background music, also much appreciated. You wouldn't believe how many people have that at double volume to the voice part. I end up constantly adjusted volume on those videos and I can't understand why they make the background music SO much louder then the voice part. So thanks for NOT using any music, this scenery didn't need any help. 3.) Drone footage very much appreciated and for my part you could do more of it...👍
"I'll just take a little detour here' Boom most amazing view in the world??? That place you few the drone near the start was amazing! Jaw still on floor. I'm sat on my arse on the isle of wight about to go to work. 50 next year, maybe it's time to start living....... Sell up, drop out, get on my bike........
Use thermal underware in summer. It will keep you cool at high temperatures and warm at lower ones. Eventually combined with a thin fleece jacked. It works for me.
There is nowhere like the North West, it’s just simply stunning. My favourite place to ride and only an hour and a half from home till I’m in the Highlands. Keep the videos coming, fantastic work and loving the addition of the drone...
You are the guy who insinuates your pilotage might not be up to snuff, there is nothing wrong with it, so stop apologizing for it!! But, if there was something wrong with it, the Isle of Skye made up for it. You took my post the wrong way.
The drone footage is a lovely addition to your regular view. I am enjoying this trip with you; it is a lovely area with its varied scenery. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoying the footage, I did a solo tour of the Highlands for the first time in the late 70's on a Suzuki GT750 triple. No bridge to Skye then, just a ferry from Kyle of Lochalsh. Your footage of Portree brought back happy memories. Must get back up there on the bike. Thanks TMF
Well done to you sir. Your arrival in Scotland prompted the beginning of 8 weeks and counting of record breaking sunny weather and roasting temperatures. The Americans on the ferry were probably looking for ancestral evidence of their forebears who left these shores in previous centuries. You are not alone in being uninformed of the delights of the west coast as Scottish/UK media ignores or misrepresents this part of the world to a large degree
What a great morning I had cold orange juice cooked breakfast and escapism to the most beautiful place courtesy of TMF! Close my eyes and imagine I'm the bike behind in those large gs mirrors.
Little Trick of mine, if you have electronic suspension, just put the preload on solo, it will drop the bike under is weight, do the manouvre, and put it back in 2 up or fully load. Just to give yourself a little help. The joy of electronic suspension! Lovely Tour!
Great video as usual TMF. Usually I’m watching your videos from the comfort of my desk at work in North Wales dreaming of the open road, but not today. Today I’m off on my own solo tour of mid and Eastern USA starting in Columbus Ohio, down to Nashville and then up the Blue Ridge Parkway, and then following the Appalachians all the way to Boston - all back roads, hardly using a single interstate. GoPro and drone ready for action, although I don’t think I’ll get the same results you get! Thanks for the inspiration of getting out on the roads touring!
At the 22min mark if you turn left there you come across one of my favourite roads in Britain. The B885. I usually go on it cut across to the west and turn back on myself to do the road again. It's absolutely thrilling on a bike
Absolutely beautiful, only ever been to Skye once but didn’t see too much of it. After watching this I definitely need to see more of it haha. Inspiration for a west coast trip today. Great stuff as always! 😃
Love the tour... yet another wonderful adventure for my breakfast viewing. This is where I would like virtual reality to go... be able to put on a headset, and tour around places in the world I won't likely ever travel to. Oh, and the drone footage is great... a different and welcome perspective.
Brilliant video Mr Flyer.. .. reminds me of my recent week in Wales!!. Decent tarmac everywhere. Highways England neec to buck their ideas up!! Cant wait for next episode. Cheers.👍👍👍😆😆
Loved this one and love Western Isles. We did Islay some years ago. Wonderful, scenic, tranquil holiday. Deserted beaches! If you get the weather there’s not many places to touch it. Great vlog MrF. Actually if an island is connected by a road bridge, is it then part of the mainland....there’s a bit of an ongoing spat about this! Have a good weekend!
Oh maaaaaan (TMF), was I waiting for this Episode!!! That Flat Mountain. .. if I remember it right, it is called MacLeod's Table. Nice Story behind it. Thank you very much for this wonderful Trip. Enjoyed it VERY much.
Another nice one TMF. When you reached Dunvegan Castle if you had continued on past the car park there is a single track road , a short distance from the start of it there is some off road parking it would have been a fantastic location for the drone to be used and you would’ve had a view of the castle.
Just did last week thousand miles around Scotland not a kipper to be had for breakfast anyway! A9 out of Edinburgh one to miss with all the average speed cameras
Superb. If you go past the castle entrance and along the coast a couple of miles you get a fab view of the castle. I tried to book Skye last year and no way, so this year am going a little slower and have booked camping... I am older than you too! Maybe I will be crippled! And it guarantees the rain. Skye has to be my most favourite place in the world.
Max Flight I was scraping the barrel last year in Western Scotland for a hotel and ended up in one with lots of coaches outside and no guests under 80! Also in Scotland you can wild camp legally, though I have booked camp sites as I like a shower!

very well done, as always as I sit here and enjoy your ride from my office on the West Coast of Florida in the United States... How I wish I were on the trip with you the drone footage is a welcome addition... I promise you thanks for everything, once again
Away for a few days in Lincoln visiting the outlaws, lol, so thankful for your scottish tour to watch, plugged in my earphones to laptop, had a great evening, wife not too impressed, lol watched 4 episodes back to back. Lovely scenery in this area, great footage from your drone.
Last time I went to Skye on a bike we took midgie repellent coils you burn that produce smoke that they hate. Never needed them! It pished it down the whole time we were there and they would have drowned! Hehehe
Well TMF, I did tell you last year after you rode the NW500 that you missed the best bit (Skye) and I’m glad that your commentary agrees with my sentiment! Absolutely superb island to ride around and the road condition is pretty reasonable too. Broadford to Sligachan is a belter if there isn’t too much traffic and it’s pretty good to Portree and on to Dunvegan. The Uig Road is very slow as it’s passing places for most part. Dunvegan to Struan and then Sligachan is my favourite stretch.....
Always nice to wake up to a TMF video, especially a Scottish touring one. I've never been lucky enough to enjoy such great weather in Scotland. Also I've never had a proper look around Skye. I shall have to remedy that. Thanks for sharing 🏍
16:19 I stopped there for a photo opportunity on my first trip to Scotland’s west coast , around 10 years ago. Keep them coming TMF, loving your work 👍
Just like to take this opportunity, to say what a great video Mr T. Of the islands of Scotland. I must do them, next time I'm in Scotland! I would also like too thank you for the recommendation, you gave on one of your vlogs. In regards to the Oxford Hardy wax jacket. I now have one, and it's bloody lovely, thanks. keep up the good, vid's d;-) ride safely. Ps I don't mind you opening your vid's with. Hi kid's. LOL
Do I ever enjoy your videos, a little bit of everyday life, like the ferry ride, let’s us see the beauty of the culture. Wouldn’t bother me if you threw a few more in. The riding is fantastic, I’ll have a r1250gs soon, I hope! Good day!
I don’t think I’ll ever tire of looking at the landscape from Skye. I’m hoping you managed to get some drone footage of the Fairy Pools in the next episode but if not there’ll be another time I’m sure. Good video again.
With regards to you wondering if the mountains get any greener, I think we're just getting past the effects of that incredibly long winter we just had. And by 'we', I mean the northern hemisphere! We were still getting snow in the Lowlands at the beginning of April. Watched videos from England, Germany, trips through south east Europe and it seemed it was the same everywhere. North America also got hit by unseasonably late winter storms. Since then the weather's been freakily good in Scotland, with only enough rain to keep the reservoirs topped up a bit. Anyway, really enjoying the series, and looking forward to the next installment. Ride Safe.
30 mins is simply not good enough , I am left wanting more immediately ! Love the trip and your commentary and yes you were very lucky with the weather. I did Skye last year and the complete island was covered in rain and thick mist ( maybe thats why its called the isle of SKY ! ) so I could have been riding through new delhi and not known the difference.
Was there on my motorcycle yesterday 25 degrees in some places (It was roasting). The temp had dramatic changes depending on where you were on the same island. Absolutely stunning place (all of Scotland is). Love the vids mate, keep churning them out 👍
Wonderful memories. Kyle of Lochalsh is on the mainland I thing. They have a large free pontoon for the boat. A coop and a decent chippy! Sailed under the Skye bridge with just a few metres under a 24m high mast. Ducked every time!! Yep I’d stay on the mainland instead of Skye. Got an epic Outer Hebrides route in my head … one day. Go away covid! I had 1250gsa and thought I might buy a 1200. Your upselling me back to a 1250gsa and put the miles on. 😂😂🤷♂️
Another great video. P.S. I stopped at the Erskine Bridge hotel Thursday before last on my Scottish motorcycle trip with my son. 22.30 it caught fire. Started in the plant room on the mezzanine floor. Some 200 of us spent 3 hours in the car park whilst 5 brigade engines dealt with it. Asked about a discount for the inconvenience and was told the fire system was part of their service! 😁😁. One to tick off the bucket list.
Mate, you need to do the Hebrides. You need to book the ferries way in advance though as its the islanders main connection route, but once on there the biking is amazing. The Golden Road on Harris is great fun, plus the beaches at Luskentyre and Huishinish are gorgeous. There's a smaller ferry that crosses from Leverburugh on Harris to Berneray on North Uist and you can ride right through to South Uist, both of which are both beautiful places. Lewis is just as pretty with places like the Fairy Falls and the Stones Of Callanish and right at the tip is the Butt of Lewis Lighthouse with amazing views. I was sorry that you missed it this time.
A bit late to this (been finding some of your older stuff to keep me sane during the current lockdown!) and I must say Skye looks absolutely stunning. When restrictions are lifted the west coast of Scotland is definitely on my list. I loved the bit at the end “cheeky overtake by the Skoda, I must edit that bit out.” Embarrassing indeed!
Lovely, reminds me of the cycle tour I did with partner through outer Hebrides and back through Skye a few years ago. Mileage was a leisurely 30 - 40 m/day, we got to see lots and met lots of interesting folk. Less is definitely more up there. Skye roads were a bit busy and fast though, some brainless coach drivers. Good comedy ‘once you’ve seen one castle you’ve seen em all’. It’s an interesting castle, worth taking a look around if you’re travelling that far, beautiful setting and lots of information about the highland clearances and homecomings that now take place as a consequence, periodically flooding the Skye with US tourists that vastly outnumber locals. It is part of Great Britain, btw, just like all the other islands are.
Well technically it’s part of the British Isles, Great Britain is the name of the big island that contains England, Scotland and Wales....thanks for watching - TMF
TheMissendenFlyer sorry mate, think you’ll need to check that, British Isles includes the whole of island of Ireland (very topical!), wouldn’t want you upsetting anyone down the pub!
I feel very lucky to live in this beautiful country. School holidays have now begun (7 weeks of hell) so no fun for me sadly. Planning a trip in September though. Think after seeing this, Skye will be top of my list. Thanks again for another great video :)
I'd agree that Skye is beautiful and has some great roads, did a solo tour there about four years ago on a Street Triple, camping at a site at Staffin in the far north of the Island for a couple of nights. It's a shame you missed that bit out by cutting across from Portree to Dunvegan, I thought that was the nicest part, but you do run into some smaller roads.
Thank you. In the late 60's my wife and I were often touring Skye and the Western Isles on our Triumph Bonneville, the roads were much less crowded back then but the views although in black and white were just as amazing, thank you again for bringing back those memories.
Glad to be of service! Loved the “the views were in black and white” comment :0)

Superb tour. Enjoying very much. The drone footage is an excellent addition to your already quality vlogg's.

Thanks Big Joe - sorry I have to put music over the drone stuff (otherwise it would be silent!)
Really enjoying this tour. The Scottish Isles have always been of interest to me. Great roads, great scenery.
Great post with fantastic pictures. Very professional photography and extremely good viewing,
Thank you Michael....
"I'll just take a little detour here' Boom most amazing view in the world??? That place you few the drone near the start was amazing! Jaw still on floor. We're the same age Richard, if you don't get stuff you want to do done now, when will you??
I agree. Don’t wait. I was 50 this year and did the grand canaria bike tour in Feb! My first tour! Got the idea off TMFs video! 😎
Simply amazing, just the right amount of clouds to make the sky epic
:0)
Epic vistas. May obviously the time to do it. Superb.
Well this year anytime since then - glorious summer!
Beautiful TMF thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching....
Another stellar episode! Some of the scenery looks breathtaking. Cheers TMF. (Looking forward to the Norway videos too!)
Cannot tell you how much I enjoy your 'travel vlogs' - a huge thank you. Truly excellent work - bravo !!
I’m glad you like ‘em!
Use thermal underware in summer. It will keep you cool at high temperatures and warm at lower ones. Eventually combined with a thin fleece jacked. It works for me.
I shall look forward to watching this later. Must go to work now, cheers and thanks for posting.
Work always gets in the way of fun!! Have a good day....
Thanks TMF great. Reminded me of many years ago now when as a child Dad would bring sweets home for us on a Friday. A Friday treat indeed.
Brilliant...
Top video as always TMF. The weather was really on your side for this trip mate. Roll on Episode 5!!
Of all your rides this was one of the prettiest.
There is nowhere like the North West, it’s just simply stunning. My favourite place to ride and only an hour and a half from home till I’m in the Highlands.
Keep the videos coming, fantastic work and loving the addition of the drone...
Thanks for watching and for stopping by! All the best - TMF
KEEP ROAMING SIR AND KEEP TREATING US WITH HEAVENLY PLACES LIKE THIS . CHEERS !!!!!!!!!
CHEERS!
There was a time, not long ago, when, if you were overtaken by a Skoda it meant you were either parked or broken down.
What do you call a Skoda with a sunroof?.....a skip 😄
How do you double the value of a skoda?........ Fill it up with petrol.
What’s the purpose of a rear heated screen on a Skoda? To keep your hands warm when your pushing it.
These jokes could run and run, unlike a Skoda....😉
Hey hey, no dissing the Skoda! Cheap as chips, 70mpg, £30 Road tax!!! I love mine 😂
Been loving this tour you're on. My wife and I thank you.
Thank you both for watching!
The beauty of the Isle of SKYE out shines any deficiency in your drone piloting.
Cheeky! What’s wrong with my drone pilotage!!! ;0)
Brilliant videos, really enjoying them. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Thanks Dave - the penultimate one of this series gets published tomorrow morning!
Thanks TMF
Good morning TMF thank you for the video , once again more beautiful scenery. Take care 😎👍🇬🇧.
I like the drone footage and your choice of music that goes with them. Doing a fine job.
Thanks Bill - appreciated!

WOW, just spectacular thanks.

Get yourself back up there - you know it makes sense!
Great video's. Think it's your best tour series yet.
Thanks Paul, I think so too and it gets better yet as the weather improves next 2 episodes!
TheMissendenFlyer looking forward to seeing them. The drone footage is great, defiantly not over using it.
It is so like the wild Atlantic way which I have done twice. . Beautiful. Maybe I will try out western Scotland in September.
Love the tour... yet another wonderful adventure for my breakfast viewing. This is where I would like virtual reality to go... be able to put on a headset, and tour around places in the world I won't likely ever travel to. Oh, and the drone footage is great... a different and welcome perspective.
Now that would be good....
Hi TMF, really liking the trip your on. It's a nice get away while here in the office. Great views and I really like the drone shots.
Glad you like 'em! Thanks for watching...
I love this video, so many memories from driving and flying in one of my favourite parts of Britain
Fabulous video, as always. Love the drone footage.
Thanks very much for the kind words - much appreciated!
Brilliant video Mr Flyer.. .. reminds me of my recent week in Wales!!. Decent tarmac everywhere. Highways England neec to buck their ideas up!! Cant wait for next episode. Cheers.👍👍👍😆😆
Cheers....
The weather certainly makes all the difference, enjoyed that trip around Sky. Epic roads and views, looking forward to the next instalment! 🏍⛰😊
Cheers - always good to have you along Ricard! All the best - TMF
Nice one TMF another great episode, loving the done stuff. Keep up the good work sir and thank you.
Thanks very much for the kind words - much appreciated!
Thanks for the video TMF, Scotland by motorcycle is on my bucket list and all the more so now I've seen your trip.
...this one just gets better Tony - I think you'll like next weeks episode - thanks for watching....
from the bridge which was a ferry crossing originally to portree used to be a single track road used to take about 3 hours at times
The isle of skye is a place I have always wanted to go to. Its very famous for its fairy pools in the mountains and just being a beautiful place!
It is far more beautiful than I have shown....
Great drone-age again Miss F
Love these tour vids, takes me away from the daily drag for half an hour. Thank you

I did the same roads on Skye last year in the car, can't wait to get back to do it on my bike!
Oh maaaaaan (TMF), was I waiting for this Episode!!!
That Flat Mountain. .. if I remember it right, it is called MacLeod's Table. Nice Story behind it.
Thank you very much for this wonderful Trip.
Enjoyed it VERY much.

Brilliant series TMF. You've given me some great tips (like booking ferries in advance!) I'm starting my trip to the Isle of Skye on Sunday.
Looks like you'll have fab weather Glenn - enjoy!
Well that was a very enjoyable watch, now it’s time to get up.
Have a good day Peter!
Just did last week thousand miles around Scotland not a kipper to be had for breakfast anyway! A9 out of Edinburgh one to miss with all the average speed cameras
Skye is an absolute must, another place I’ve not even been to. Really appreciate these views . Great stuff mate , and well ridden
Cheers!

thanks for everything, once again

As usual TMF a top notch video! Can’t wait for the next instalment. 👍🏻
Stay tuned!
Great video. Your bike seems very smooth even at speed. Very nice
Yeah it’s a great machine, I love it...
another superb watch
Cheers John - appreciated....
Away for a few days in Lincoln visiting the outlaws, lol, so thankful for your scottish tour to watch, plugged in my earphones to laptop, had a great evening, wife not too impressed, lol watched 4 episodes back to back. Lovely scenery in this area, great footage from your drone.
Thanks - don’t forget to watch my latest Arctic Circle tour too!
Awaiting your next instalment , episode 4, have been watching arctic circle tour as they have been uploaded, awesome, cheers, Andy

Always nice to wake up to a TMF video, especially a Scottish touring one. I've never been lucky enough to enjoy such great weather in Scotland. Also I've never had a proper look around Skye. I shall have to remedy that. Thanks for sharing 🏍
Get up there today, weather looks set fair in the North for another week yet!
16:19 I stopped there for a photo opportunity on my first trip to Scotland’s west coast , around 10 years ago. Keep them coming TMF, loving your work 👍
Makes me itchy to go back and see the isle of Skye. Great footage
Hi kid's. LOL
Cheers Andy - on all fronts!
Its a pity you could not make it to Lewis and Harris, fantastic biking roads and scenery.
Great little series yet again and you're a natural with that wee Mavic.
Cheers....
Another great video, inspiring. 👏
Thanks, I'm glad you found it so!
Do I ever enjoy your videos, a little bit of everyday life, like the ferry ride, let’s us see the beauty of the culture. Wouldn’t bother me if you threw a few more in. The riding is fantastic, I’ll have a r1250gs soon, I hope! Good day!
Thanks Justa - glad you find my efforts of interest...thanks for watching - TMF
I don’t think I’ll ever tire of looking at the landscape from Skye. I’m hoping you managed to get some drone footage of the Fairy Pools in the next episode but if not there’ll be another time I’m sure.
Good video again.
...oops!
Ride Safe.
Cheers - say tuned!
Cracking drone shots .
Oh dear, go back next week, it'll be lovely....
Brilliant video love the drone shots👍
Really glad you like 'em - thanks!
The drone footage is very good. You have really mastered it since these early days. Your format of presentation is very enjoyable.
Thank you very much - I'm glad you think so!
Yes I can’t wait to get back on the bike too…
Another great video.
Oh no! I hope the place gets rebuilt (could do with burning down and rebuilding to be fair)...
I also love the drone segments. Whoever overtook you must be a resident of Skye and so accustomed to the views that he doesn't notice them anymore.
I'll be back!
Knew you’d love Skye. No excuse for that Skoda overtake mind!
Sorry...let myself down there....
Drone footage is not boring. Keep it coming.
Oops - did I leave that in!!!
Another Great video TMF! Amazing Editing as well!
Thank you very much - I try and keep it simple!
All I can say is "Spectacular". Great tour. looking forward to the next episode. RSM8
Cheers!
I love the drone footage. It really adds a new dimension to your story.
Brilliant - next episode is better I reckon!
I feel very lucky to live in this beautiful country. School holidays have now begun (7 weeks of hell) so no fun for me sadly. Planning a trip in September though. Think after seeing this, Skye will be top of my list. Thanks again for another great video :)
Get yourself over there ASAP - you'll love it!
Great video ,doing nc500 next month and can't wait.
Hope to have the same weather as you did (fingers crossed) 👍
Good luck!
Well I wanted to save that north part for when I return to have a crack at Lewis and Harris again....
TMF have you tried the TRF? Herts based green laning very good fun.
I'm aware of them of course but never gone down that route...
