However as a fellow Tiger Sport 1050 owner and having a Bonneville T120 your workshop videos have been invaluable to me. It doesn't bother me if the adds are there - I'll still watch your videos anyway. Thankyou for the fantastic content and please keep up the great work.
I still don’t like the phone on the bike but it is needed for calimoto as it often says turn before the actual turning on the map. The dampener has worked so far as my camera still works 😀
I’m a big fan of your channel and your videos on the tiger Sport have been a great help. Personally I’m not a fan of the ads but if you can live with the hassle of filling in tax forms etc I’m sure I can live with the ads. With regard to content, which is very interesting, I live in a different part of the country and would have to take a week off work to explore properly.

I did use a lot of your places that you went to in Northumberland, and the Scottish borders, when I stayed in Bellingham for 5 nights. No good awful music to go with your video's helps too. 👍👍🏍🏍
Well, you are doing better than me, same sort of sub number, you are more consistent than me. I tend to focus on "story" as well, which takes a horrific amount of time. Monetised on Decenber 2023, yet to hit £60. Sitting about £40. Ive struggled on latest prodution, which i will release on Friday, life just got in the way. Other priorities. Those who attenpt to make a living from it generally have other revnue streams, such as tours, sponsorships, other business/investmnents. But heck, if you dont try you'll never know. We've done well getting as far as we have. Its well.known that most give up by now. Ride safe 👍

I have UA-cam premium so no ads. Keep it. Helps with fuel as you say . Good videos . I find the maintenance videos great. I also have Simon’s books, so also good to see. Regardless hope you enjoy it . 👍
I never thought premium was worth it but the adverts are getting longer and some can’t be skipped. I watch a lot so maybe one day I will click the button.

I sometimes watch youtube on the tv, but its unbearable, one minute adverts every 10 mins or less on long videos, unskippable. I use my laptop most of the time, i project it to the tv now as the adverts are out of control. Sorry my man lol. Brave browser and adblocker ultimate make the internet much easier to use, ive stopped 707,000 adverts, and saved 9.8hrs of watching them over the last 8 months thanks to this combination...which costs nothing lol.
Personaly i like the garage content. I have a tiger sport 1050 myself. And they where realy usefull. Just wish u had a tripod so you dont have to do it all one handed. Also i have premium so dont mind the ads.
Recognise Bishop Middleham, i used to live there. Must be local to me riding those roads. I'm nowhere near being monetised and adverts still play on my videos, which does P me off. I've stopped trying to get to the point of monetisation, and just do it for myself, but its a bonus if people watch.

I use 256gb cards and film at 2k7 50fps. I carry spare batteries. I find that one card is good for 4 hours of footage which is more than enough for a day on the bike.
Well done on getting partnered with UA-cam! I'm still gathering watch hours, around 75% of the way there! I suspect you need over 100k viewers to make a part time living on youtube!
Nothing to do with subs, all to do with views. There are plenty of channels with 100k subs with 2k views per video, there are other channels with 10k subs and a million views per video. I used to do youtube years ago, back in 2010-2012. I had 4500 subs, i made £3500 one month, other months were around the £800 mark. Id get about 300k views a month, one video, that ended up in all the media got 700k views in the first 24hrs, 1.9m views over a couple of weeks, i made £3000 off that one video alone.
Keep doing you. I also have Premium, so the adverts aren't a bother. As an example, Ryan Fort9 and Itchy Boots each have over 2M subs but Bennet's Bike Social only 218K so hard to tell what will hit. I think I have 13 at last count and 1/2 of that is family sooo... I'll end up OWING ££$$ at the end of the day!😆😆 Keep the content coming as long as it's fun for you and an enjoyment. Always remember to ride for yourself and not for others. There have been plenty of times that I put the GoPro in the pack when I realized I was trying the "get the shot" and was not in the moment of the experience. Well done and a great channel. You remind me of a British BugMoto (check out his channel from the Pacific Northwest of US)
You may as well monetise if you can. Google would take all the revenue if you didn't take your share. You definitely don't need to run mid-role in your videos if you don't want them. I have to tick a box to include them. Just run the minimum ads, If you don't run them Google will definitely still show ads on your videos. This is in their terms and conditions "UA-cam may also place ads on videos in channels that are not in the UA-cam Partner Programme. Learn more on our blog" Trips and tours are our favourite type of videos but don't attract many viewers. My honest opinion as another small channel is make what you enjoy making but make it as good as you possibly can.
@upnorthbiker I miss it being a talking point wherever I stopped. But miss riding it no. The MT10 is just such a hoot, such a handful yet so comfortable, it's all I really wanted to ride.
I know exactly all about everything you have said here. Not only is taxable income in the UK, you also get clobbered for US tax. I have 9000 subs and in 10 months I've made just over 300 quid. I wish I had never bothered, but I wish you all the best with your channel. I'm at the point of turning mine all off.
Seems to me an alternative way to cash in is to get sponsorship and do reviews and include that in your videos rather than advertising? I have no idea Im just thinking from what I've seen on other channels without advertising
I am not a fan of sponsorships I like to be my own person rather than be tied to a company. I am not trying to make money but it was interesting to see how views turn in to money.
It’s a tough one do you try to make a little money or do you not. Why not make a little profit from your hard work it might not fill a tank of fuel but it might get you a coffee while you are out.
Big fan of UA-cam, huge annoyance from UA-cam adverts. If you could do a crowd-source funding project I bet you could raise more than your 7-month earnings. e.g. if you had a £1 donation from 10% of your subscribers you would have £139 (as of time of typing). This would potentially exceed your earnings from UA-cam (still taxable though). Then you get to continue your hobby, we (subscribers) get to keep viewing your content without ad interruptions, and you get paid the same or more. Seems like UA-cam is not a competitive business model for the avid hobby vlogger (hobvlog). Come on UA-cam, do the maths and compete.
No I did not and have checked the held comment and it is not there. I don’t delete comments even if they are negative. He doesn’t good out of eating free food then.
@upnorthbiker strange, I mentioned social blade, how much people earn when they get bigger ..more cpm...basically he will get about 4 quid per thousand views, plus sponsorships etc. UA-cam is messed up, I think they delete them if they don't like what people say.
Subs doesn’t mean money.. most of these channels with millions don’t get millions of views - check the ratios.. e.g if u got 5K subs and regularly get 5K views then thats 100%
Yep it’s all views related but comments and subs increasing seem to put your channel out to more people. I guess I get around 40% views to subs on most videos.
I do it for my own enjoyment and the point of the video is do I demobilise the channel to remove the adverts as the money is not a real concern and more of a hassle

Taking a road trip if you can afford it is really good. If you are on your own evenings can be a bit lonely but well worth it

Just curious: how many miles does your Thruxton have? Do you top up the engine oil? How often?
Mine has around 11,500 and I got it new. I have never had to top up the oil between changes but I service it every 6000 miles

You should not get taxed from the us as We have an exemption agreement between the countries. Did you select that option when you monitored?

@btcbiker if you check your ad-sense account there is the option to use the exemption so you don’t pay USA tax

It appears they also put adverts on non-monetised channels so there is no escape. They want everyone to pay for premium.

Pretty sure you don't have to declare extra income on earnings less than £1000 per year.

I only watch youtube on my PC with ad blockers. I have never even seen an advert. So youtube gets no revenue from my viewing.
