Lovely job. Fixed my wife's mixer the other week. I diagnosed it, bought the exact same multimeter as you because it's easier to match your settings 😂 Only needed one diode replacement. Job done. Now I've spent less money on tools and parts rather than a new mixer.
hahhaha I remember @TronixFix saying on some videos "that repair is not worth of my time" and here we have Steve with "you should definitively buy a new one", at least we know why, now.
Not only are your soldering skills great now but you’ve also started making it look easier and easier. Am I the only one who watches people make soldering look easy and then when it comes to doing it myself, I just end up frowning on top of my confused face as the solder doesn’t go where it should? 😂
Thank you for showing how a trace repai can be done! I am just beginning to learn and enjoy watching your videos! May you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!
Appreciate the awesome vids and refreshing sense of humour Steve. Always puts a smile on my face when I see a new addition to the library! Happy Christmas!
Nice little fix there Steve.. wondering if it’s worth your time noting down somewhere what those port assignments are for future use (your 2nd breakout was A1, A2 etc) assuming this wouldn’t change? May help in diagnosing other faults
Sorry for the off topic question.. but could you please tell me where you got the 'Frankenstein' arm for your microscope as you called it in a video from a long time ago? I've been watching your video's for a long time and love them. It made me take the plunge and buy a microcope. Bought the Andonstar AD210 and im really happy with it.. But there isn't enough room between the lens and the end of the base.
have you ever thought of using a Conductive Ink Pen for when you have broken traces, i've used them for model making and they work a treat. should work on a circuit board no problem
Where is the Rap ;-; also I would love a top 10 list of your favorite raps you done so far this year too! I know many don't like them but I love you expressing yourself in every video and keep up the good work!
Cool. Glad it's fixed. I can't order anything still because Canada Post is still on strike. I did manage to get a box of PC components for a build I had ordered like 3 weeks ago. I don't know WHY it took them so long, but it came purolator today. *shrug* maybe they shipped it because it was taking too long or they got overwhelmed. Who knows.
Just out of curiosity, why do the hot drop and then go over all the pins by hand again? Couldn't you just tin the pads, do the mounting legs and go over the pins?
@@MichaelM28 Ah, OK. I get you. I can't say I've noticed Steve using them but in my last job we used lint free poly-cellulose wipes to clean flux from PCBs. Maybe that's what they are?
I believe it's a TP4056 board with some thin resistor or other through-hole component legs soldered on the output so it's easy to slide into the battery connectors.
Nice fix, but i am struggling to determine what use the tester actually is. You are testing a 24 pin plug/socket, but only have 5 points of measurement due to bridging of common lines. Maybe its just me missing something.
This is one of the many things you can use for anything your imagination can come up with. I have a 3D printing pen that had a weird barrel connector for USB power. Lost the cable and modded the pen with such a breakout module to accept power from USB C. Now I can use any cable instead of just the one very special one.
I would have connected the wire to the resistor pad and left the hole open for the pin header. Another option would have been to directly add the pin header during this repair.
Stez, please deactivate that annoying auto-generated Audio Tracks! It is really boring to switch to the original Track on every Video. Watching your Vids less often due that. :/

But can you do it without your brain doing the voiceover?
Two videos in a week? Must be Christmas! Hope you have a good one Steve and that you get lots of faulty electronics to fix!
He probably forgot to schedule it and made it public instead.
This definitely makes a lot more sense to repair than that hell you put yourself through with last week's PS thumbstick.
Can't argue with that 🤣
hahhaha I remember @TronixFix saying on some videos "that repair is not worth of my time" and here we have Steve with "you should definitively buy a new one", at least we know why, now.
This is a happy little Christmas present. A stezstix fix video in the middle of the week! Thanks steve.
Stez on a Tuesday? Awesome
My Tuesday just got better.

2 vids in a week!! Banging!! Merry Christmas
Best fixer upper guy on the tubes !❤thanks Steve !
What about the other ground on the connector? At the moment, ground will only be present when it's plugged in the "right" way round.
He checked both grounds for continuity , they must have a common earth
@@why_wait They are only common on the breakout board, not on the plug/socket.
Thank you for showing how a trace repai can be done! I am just beginning to learn and enjoy watching your videos! May you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!
It's better done with copper tape.
Happy/Merry Christmas to you and yours Steve!
Thanks Kevin, same to you! 🎄
I recently discovered this channel. Warts and all it never fails to delight and educate in equal measure. 😊
Always love your videos, no matter how simple or complex. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
2 videos in 1 week, what a treat
Appreciate the awesome vids and refreshing sense of humour Steve. Always puts a smile on my face when I see a new addition to the library! Happy Christmas!
Steve keep being the best electronics diy fixer on the net. Love your content very much 😂❤
I just love the musicality on this channel. LOL!
On the first day of Fixmas, Steven fixed for thee, a USB he broke pre-vi-ouslyyyyy~
Nice job Steve thanks for the video 😊
Even a doctor is confused seeing such perfection
Ooooooh Swing Out Sister! Love them!
Soild video Steve! ✔

Another great vid thanks man i hope u and yours have a wonderful christmas
Where did you get that solder mask curing widget?
Where is the Rap ;-; also I would love a top 10 list of your favorite raps you done so far this year too! I know many don't like them but I love you expressing yourself in every video and keep up the good work!
Always a good show from you, how about flattening the wire to reduce its thickness.....?
Nice Thumbnail. "Countdown to FIXMAS"👍🏼
Whatever happened to your MMV Tee Shirt?🤔
Can you tell me specifically what part number these ports are? I keep getting the wrong ones.
Have you ever reconditioned your solder tips? Mine started to not hold solder anymore.
I’m curious what usbc port part that is. Have the link handy by any chance?
I love that song! "Breakout 🎶"
There's a total lack of Santa hats in this video so I feel short changed. Come on Steve, less of the bah humbug!
Cool. Glad it's fixed.

What happened, feels like Sunday! Steve, Techmoan and James also dropping a video on Tuesday, wow!
Hi... where do you get your leaded solder from? All i can find is the unleaded type
Just out of curiosity, why do the hot drop and then go over all the pins by hand again? Couldn't you just tin the pads, do the mounting legs and go over the pins?
Might be simple but still fascinating. What solder do you use, mate?
a Sneaky, Cheeky Tuesday video. Thanks for that. Nice one.
Merry solid Christmas😊
Could you trick it out with spade connections and some wires with crocodile clips and probes on that you can swap out?
Usb c is a fascinating design. Especially when you look into the multiplexing of the video lines on the nintendo switch
Merry Christmas! Hope Santa drops many toys to fix.
Merry Fixmas!!
What are those clear cloths you use to clean up flux?
Cloths? They're cotton buds.
@@steve.b.23Not in this video. In a lot of his other videos he uses some clothes with a brush to clean flux residue
@@MichaelM28 Ah, OK. I get you. I can't say I've noticed Steve using them but in my last job we used lint free poly-cellulose wipes to clean flux from PCBs. Maybe that's what they are?
Great video watching this on the tube
Disposable vapes are an good source to pull out USB-C
Random question but whats the thing called you use to restart dead batteries? 🤔
I believe it's a TP4056 board with some thin resistor or other through-hole component legs soldered on the output so it's easy to slide into the battery connectors.
@ronsonwagner9401 thank you 👍
Swing Out Sister! Nice!
That was a "SOLID" repair in my opinion...
I started saying "continuity" the same way you do when I use my multimeter ... 😀
Need my fix of Stez fix stuff thing 👀
I want to complain about there not being a rap. I'm very disappointed. 😢
I tried skipping backwards from 00:00… 😢
thx i forgot that song, its the one thats in many keyboards as demosong in the 90s
Please, noo external voiceover thing 🙏I like all youre content with YOURE voice ☺
If you needed the ports anyway, makes sense tossing that little money at this vs. paying more for a new one.
I knew Swing Out Sister was coming as soon as I saw the title 😆

Is it xmas today ? 2 vids in 1 week ❤
merry christmas
yay...I guessed the outro song before it played........Swing out sister!!
I would have just thrown it in the circular archive aka the bin😂
Then again it is a good practice project plus it makes for content
Dave... please can you ask voice-over-Steve to ask other Steve.... what temp he uses on his hot air please.
Gas Mark 17.
Congratulations on your new haircut
Oooh. Nice!
Nice
Had to be Swing Out Sister for the outro 🎉
I suspect you only fixed that so you could sing Breakout 😆
Какой спирт использовал? Почему в этом видео не показал 99% pure? ))
No rap! It must be Christmas 😊
I think you should use soddering too, so that he Americans know that you are soldering something lol
No one wants to see Steve soldering!
😃
A lot of my purchases lately seem to also be, coming from, China?
The left GND isn't connected.
what a great song lol
Good evening.
The tunes!!!!
good qucik video. no idea wha ta breakout board is
SOLID
i thought you'd sing this song at the end :)
No more "SOLID" PLEASE ! just say solid without robot voice, and thats it !
How did I know that Swing Out Sister was going to be the end song🤔
Stupid Port 😅😅😅
Request for an extended karaoke StezMix of Breakout
Oi, You USB-C Nutter! ❤
on the first day of xmas my tue love gave to me.....
a usb seeee....
Are you SURE it was the breakout board that was stupid in this case? lol
I always see you pointing to 'this video here', but they are never actually showing for me. Ever. Wondering if you're just pulling our legs? :D
It's an option you can turn off in UA-cam settings from memory. They are definitely there for me.
a usb c breakout board is what? .10 cents? lol
Whenever I'm working on my car and gotta bust out the volt meter, I always say "in voltage...DC" before I check the battery
"chayna"
Be good to see how you record your music and raps if you get bored soldering!
If I had to post a video every time I butchered a board UA-cam would need more data storage.
USB-C USB-C USB-C
Stez, please deactivate that annoying auto-generated Audio Tracks!

I really find it hilarious with the "stupid " ending on these videos 🤣
