The only toyline where ripping apart your figures is the intended way to play
Beautifully said. Flawless victory..I mean sentence.
Its funny how in the 90s and 80s we had toylines for movies that were for teens and adults with killing and violence. I wonder who made the first approach, Hasbro or Midway.
"Nobody has come close to making good action figures-"
*Storm collectibles: "Hold my beer."*
Was looking for this I have every storm figure 😁
I just spent $400 on Subzero, scorpion, 2 smokes, 2 Sonias and reptile all sealed on ebay with great packaging condition. They're so awesome and hella expensive now on ebay, the ninjas are usually $45-60and Reptile goes for way more. Great video!!
I used to have a few of those. I've still got Raiden and Liu Kang.
My new idea put all these in stores with street fighter, and double dragon
The body’s from the movie Raiden and Liu Kang are used from the cancelled ninja force line too.
Damn I had all those back in the day! Reptile, Shang Tsung and Kano are worth a bunch nowadays
Sucks because I have been collecting the figures and Reptile was my favorite combatant as a kid my cousin said I ALWAYS chose reptile
Imagine all of the kids that ruined their toys with ketchup and hot sauce.
HOLY CRAP! I GRABBED THE LIU KANG FIGURE OUT OF A FREE TOY BOX WHEN I WAS 5!!
I wish they had made one of Kitana, Nightwolf, Ermac, Rain, Jax and Stryker.
You forgot the 12 inch figs. Those toy island figures would have been insane if they would’ve been 3.75 back back in those days.
I wonder why they put _Smoke_ in with the MK1 guys since he's from MK II...
And he has kabals swords whaat
Yeah what about reptile?
@@Leosoto1981 What about him? He was in Mortal Kombat 1.
Yeah that what I was supposed to say
@@Leosoto1981 Well Reptile had a figure released of him, if that's what you mean. He came with a speedboat for some reason.
Only ones I remember having was Sub Zero and Goro. I used to pretend my GI Joes were other MK characters lol.
Same profile picture
I had them all but could never could find the ship in the store.
Found this very interesting! I only had the 5 inch Raiden that the other company made, but I've seen images of the other ones floating around online.
Awesome video
Neat video. About movie edition scorpion and his blue mask, Scorpions mask in the film was a gray color, and I think they were trying to replicate that, keyword being trying. It looks more like the movie mask to me, than if it was just yellow, but it does look off at a glance.
Still got the Scorpion figure to this day, although SubZero was always me favorite
I remember having the goro 🤘🏻
i have had Sub-Zero since it was released and always thought it was "GI Joe: Mortal Kombat" figures...like the MKII was a subline.
I used to go shopping for Gi Joe's every other weekend I never once saw a mortal Kombat lineup. These must have been very limited.
They were. I can only remember one store that sold them and they were expensive. $3.99 for a Joe versus $6.99 for a Mortal Kombat figure.
@@johnsoehnlen4781they were probably more expensive because of licensing rights…😢
2:08 the blue mask Scorpion is the Covid-19 figure
nice video
Ok, I had to double check but I think I can see why Scorpion's mask is blue instead of yellow. ( Although after seeing Sub-Zero I have no clue, just a guess here. )
In the movie Scorpion has a metal looking mask that's in grey with his Hood in black. My only guess is because they did at least get the eye color right ( just being all white like they were the first time the figure was released ) they were trying to make his mask look metal like, like In the movie instead of the game where his mask is yellow. The paint would have made it stand out as the movie version a bit better and instead of making a new head sculpt they probably took the original 94' Scorpion head and repainted the mask to make it look more like the movie.
Or, they just fu&$ed it up...
Good video
Why does Lui Kang look like Scott Hall 😅😂
i watched this one a bunch of times and I have that rockem sockem goro and raiden 0:30
Thanks for watching the videos!! It means a lot! Fun fact: the Rock'Em Sock'Em Goro and Raiden set is currently for sale in the FC retail store in Indianapolis! :p
Used to have that sub zero and lui kang
Does anyone remember the MK fighting base with action figures. You would lock them to the black dragon base and spin the handle and they would fight. They stayed on with one foot attached to the base. I can’t find anything about that toy on line.
I have a smoke figure in the Shang Tsung packaging.
We need figures of the original mk1 damn it!!!!! I want Johnny cage
Shangs boat is the same boat from the pirates of dark water toy line
I did not know that! Thanks for the heads up!
I have all of them brand new in the box.
I bought scorpion with a blue mask 💀 but eh it’s $14.25... well I think it is...
In the movie it’s a bluish grey metal
Still have goro sub zero and scorpion with the blue mask lol
