Area 18 now has a chain of floating lights to identify where the space port is. Only took 5 years for them to make it easier to find the place at night. Instead of just putting the quantum beacon right above it.

I noticed this a couple weeks ago and it's a game changer for someone like me who spends a large majority of their time in the ArcCorp system. You can stay above the clouds until you reach the string of lights and get to the spaceport quite a bit faster than before.

New Babbage is the objectively best choice. Can buy good stuff at the Kelto shop right outside the hab. The Commons/Plaza has Center Mass, Omega Pro, Tigersclaws, etc., easily accessed via the ground entrance thus skipping the spaceport. Plus, Microtech is a planet that has derelict outposts, settlements, and distribution centers. Also extremely easy to find the spaceport, even during storms.
Port Tressler is objectively the best station. Great efficient layout of convenient shops. Platinum Bay sells great quantum drives and lots of other stuff. The hangars are all horizontal, none of that vertical garbage. Armor/weapons/clothing/cargo center, it has everything you need in a very compact area, not spread out.
That being said, everyone should just keep using Orison. That way there are less players clogging up Tressler and Microtech, which is good for me.

I just had this revelation to me, Orison was neat to start in but New Bab is my favorite city by far, and Port Tress is A1 in terms of accessibility
The only problem is that now I have to find a new way to knock the nose gun off the gimbal so that it becomes uninsured with the ship, thus robbing me of my main armament until I can buy a new nose gun after like ten delivery missions

Lorville has a commodity kiosk in the showroom about 15 steps from the TDD you can sell construction materials in. The Hurston showcase is also the only place to buy Attrition Repeaters. Lorville is as easy as taking the correct train.
Arccorp is useless IMO just simply because the only locations in the system are located on 2 moons.. The other 3 areas have literally 10x more locations and missions so for that reason, I simply see 0 reason to go to Arccorp ever tbh.. Even gas giant Orison has more locations u can go to and loot up than Arccorp. Hurston has more locations just on its planet than all of Arccorp and thats not counting the 4 moons that are also the best for hand and ROC mining. I like Microtech for the same reasons as Hurston.. Tons of missions, $$ making, and cool POIs. Grim Hex and Crusader for bounty hunting and pvp, as well as mining/drug running/salvage are alot of fun too. Every system has a ton of things to do EXCEPT Arccorp (which is why ppl call it the noob system)

So, the thing with New Babbage is that while there's no armor store on the planet, there is one at Port Tressler, IIRC. And that's geostationary above New Babbage, so it's always easy to make the trip. The spaceport is easy to find AND easy to land at (Which isn't always true even when it's easy to find), and, absolutely 100% most importantly: The train is fast. It's so much faster to take the train from the NB spaceport to The Commons than to take the trolleys at ArcCorp, and ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE faster than the trains at Lorville.
Combine that with the fact that it's easy to navigate around the commons, and fast to get from the apartments there to the spaceport, and Tressler is always a quick hop from the planet, and there's a ton of locations on Microtek and on the moons around it, and to me it's a no-brainer.
All that said... I still miss Port Olisar, even though everyone else hated it. So quick to get in and out, as long as you didn't get blown up.

I've always picked Area18 as my starting point. Everything I need in a city is conveniently located there,. The main drawback has been I had to go to a moon if I wanted to spawn a vehicle. So, by being able to spawn vehicles in the hangar, that's even an extra point for A18.
But... Maybe I should go with something else for once.

A-18 has every thing you need, plus the coolest spacer bar (the G-Loc) in Stanton. With ground vehicle loading in the hangar, I don't see any reason not to continue with this as home. I just like the feel of the place, and you can't really use a ground vehicle there anyway.
