    Thank you for the reaction.
The lyricist of this song, Shomishpay Sariev, wrote the lyrics for his daughter, who was about to get married. The composer, Kenes Duisekeev, when writing the music, thought about his own sister, who had died at the age of 19, and about the fact that her father would never see her get married. And now this composer, who was also Dimash's professor, died from COVID-19.
Many years ago Dimash asked and was granted special permission to sing this song for his teacher on his 70th birthday. To quote Kenes Duisekeev, "Dimash finished his singing. Without realizing it, I got up from my seat. I called him, "Dimash, come here, dear, come here!" and hugged him. I hugged him and said, "My dear, God gave you not only a voice, but also a heart, and most importantly, a mind". I didn't expect that such a young boy would be able to understand the depth of this song, its philosophical depth. But in fact, he realized my idea exactly the way I always dreamed of."
And now Dimash performed this song for the second time in tribute to the memory of his beloved teacher.

About 27 years ago, the Kazakh poet Shomishpay Sariev wrote the lyrics of the song "Karagym Ai" and dedicated it to his daughter who was getting married. The father put his feelings in the text regarding his concern: what the life of The daughter with her boyfriend ?, What awaits him ahead? And he shares with the daughter about the meaning of life. The poet argues that the most important meaning of life is love. Life lived without love is empty. The poet question:
"Is every life lived without love equivalent to one day lived in love?"
It is always sad to leave home and cross the threshold of someone else's home. That is why it is also a bit of a sad time for a daughter. After all, the girl's tears are not from pain, but only regret when parting from her home village, her relatives. The poet asked his friend the famous Kazakh composer Kenes Duisekeev to write music. The composer during the writing of the music for the song remembers his only sister, that she did not have time to marry and died at the age of 19. He dreamed what a father would have felt if she had married. Thus, the song turned out not only about the poet's daughter, who is getting married, but about the composer's sister, who did not live to see her wedding. Therefore, the song feels sorry, sadness of failed love.
The Lord of the image in Dimash's video is the Kazakh composer Kenes Duisekeev who died of Covid a few weeks ago and whom Dimash loved very much because he was one of his great music teachers. This video Dimash made in the middle of the pandemic as a tribute to his beloved teacher. Here he left you the letter,
    My dear
I look at you and I see what beauty is
Some people are fortunate to have a lot of
Still we are only guests in this world
Life is too short to waste
    My dear,
I look at you and I see a deer running
Who are those people in your path?
    Why does my soul cry?
    Who are you destined for?
    My dear,
    You look at me sideways
It is full of light, it is so beautiful to me.
    My dear,
So life goes by so fast
With no love in it, it's all just dust
Some, when they count the pages of life, barely find a day of love.
    My dear,
    You look at me sideways
It is full of light, it is so beautiful to me.
You have a beautiful look that is full of light.

I was going to tell all this, but you covered it all! Plus: when the sing was first published years ago, Dimash asked to sing it. The poet hesitated, feeling that such a young guy (he was 20 at the time) could not possibly understand and express properly the feelings of a father letting go of his daughter. However, when Dimash did perform it, he shook his hand and congratulated him.

The story of the song "Karagym-ay" / "My dear". Lyrics written by Sariev Shomishbay. Music written by Duysekeev Kenes. Poet Sariev dedicates these poems to his daughter, who is getting married. In the poems, the poet conveys his feelings about how the life of his daughter will turn out with her chosen one. Father shares thoughts on the meaning of life with his daughter. In his opinion, the main meaning of life is Love. Without love, life is empty. The poet asked a friend, composer Duisekeev, to write music for his poems. The composer remembered his only sister who died when she was 19 years old. She didn't get married. That's why the song also feels the pinching sadness of the failed love.
/// Dimash performed the song "Karagym-ay" on April 9, 2016 at a concert dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the composer Kenes Duisekeev. The composer was surprised by how Dimash was able to understand and convey the deep meaning of the song, despite his young age (Dimasha was 21 at the time.). After the performance of the song, the composer applauded Dimasha with the words BRAVO!!!".
/// Composer Kenes Duysekeev was Dimasha's teacher at the university. He died on July 9, 2020 from Covid-19. Dimash sang this song in memory of the composer. On the stage behind Dimash you see a portrait of Kenes Duisekeev.
    /// Look, please, this beautiful video - KARAGYM-AY / MY DEAR (Clip, 14.09.2016) ua-cam.com/video/Pu2g1_P60Bs/v-deo.html
    //////////////////////////////
/// История создания песни Карагым-ай (Дорогая моя/ My dear.) Слова: Сариев Шомишбай. Музыка: Дуйсекеев Кенес. Стихи " Карагым-ай " Сариев посвящает своей дочери, которая выходит замуж. В стихах поэт передает свои переживания о том, как сложится жизнь дочери с её избранником. Отец делится с ней думами о смысле жизни. По его мнению, главный смысл жизни это Любовь, без неё жизнь пуста. Поэт просит друга, композитора Дуйсекеева, написать музыку к своим стихам. Композитор вспоминает единственную сестру, которая умерла в 19-летнем возрасте, так и не успев выйти замуж. Представляет, какие чувства испытывал бы отец, если бы выдавал её замуж. Поэтому в песне чувствуется ещё и щемящая грусть от несостоявшейся любви.
/// Димаш исполнил песню " Карагым-ай" 9 апреля 2016 года на концерте, посвящённом 70-летию композитора Кенеса Дуйсекеева. Композитор был удивлён тем, как Димаш смог понять и передать глубинный смысл песни, несмотря на столь юный возраст. (Димашу тогда был 21 год.) После исполнения песни композитор аплодировал Димашу со словами БРАВО!!!".
/// Композитор Кенес Дуйсекеев был учителем Димаша в университете. Он умер в 9 июля 2020 г. от Ковид-19. Димаш спел эту песню в память о композиторе. На сцене за спиной Димаша ты видишь портрет Кенеса Дуйсекеева.

I believe the man in the background originally wrote the lyrics and trusted Dimash enough to put it to song in a way that would justify the lyrics. He was really pleased with the results. He had recently died from Covid if I remember right.
Dears, we may not like all songs but still appreciate the singer. We may not even like the same singers. We are individuals and are entitled to our opinions without criticism. I do see DEARS who love Dimash so much that there are times when they forget to be objective. Since we love Dimash, all we can do is be as much like him as we can. This reactor is a fellow Dear. I deeply believe your choices of singing artists are specially great as how I find them as well, that I adore immensely. However, I am totally focused and in great admiration of DIMASH because he possesses a unique capacity to change the rule of singing ability and techniques that we haven’t experienced before. His hard work in achieving top notch grades in top music education and proving his phenomenon that defies the normalcy of singing make it even greater. How he performs singing a song however many times...always gets your full attention and disbelief by asking what is going to happen?...where did he get that power?...when is he going to stop an elongated note withholding his breath?... but mostly...How did he do that? THAT IS A TESTIMONY OF A GREATEST SINGER INDEED....

Yes, as I am sure others will have said. The gentleman & Dimash became gr8 friends. When Dimash was much younger, still in later teens i think, he wanted to perform this song, so he asked the composer of the music ( the man on screen) for his permission. The gentlemen was extremely hesitant as he did not think such a young person cud understand or produce a performance that would enable any audience to appreciate its meaning fully. So he told Dimash, that b4 he cud perform it publicly, he wanted to hear his version. This took place and Dimash was granted permission, without hesitation. The professor, attended the actual public concert and gave Dimash a standing ovation. They became gr8 friends, they worked together, the proffessor teaching Dimash. The friendship flourished. When the professor knew he wud die of covid he requested that Dimash sing this song as a tribute to for him n his life ( the professors). This is therefore the tribute from Dimash to his gr8 friend the proffesor.
I do not know how Dimash managed it. It is sooo full of emotion and loss, and so different from Dimash's original offering naturally.

Dimash is very respectful of his elders, his parents, grandparents and his younger siblings are respectful of him. The man in the image is Kenes Duysekeev his teacher from University who he was extremely close to, the poor man died of Covid in 2019. This performance was a tribute to Kenes Duysekeev and Dimash must have found it very difficult but he did him proud. Hi there! I went to original video and watched it with Russian subtitles. And the word "courteous" in Russian translates as "reverence" . So it's more likely as: "You gaze at me with reverence and tenderness." I am a little bit late. Thank you for your reaction to this beautiful heartfelt song. I can't listen this song often. It's brakes my heart to see Dimash in devastation. Take care of yourself and your family.🙏🙏🙏💕

Hi Larry, Excellent reaction to this beautiful song, everyone has told you the background thet the man on the backcloth was Dimashs mentor, voice coach and teacher for the best part of 20yrs, and who died from covid last year and it really affected Dimash and he performed this tribute to him again during lockdown, no audience and in this instance, not neccesary I think. Very tender and moving and a personally heartfelt performance whilst he was grieving.👌👌👌

Thank you for your reaction, I am very happy that you could feel the emotions, the feelings transmitted by Dimash. Even without knowing the background of his interpretation or the words in Kazakh, we can feel his pain and this is why he is so incredible.
Of course we cannot all love all his songs; however, I was surprised by your comments regarding his interpretation of SOS, because it is a masterpiece. But perhaps, when you will know him better, you will appreciate this song at the right level.
Dimash differs from what we have know so far: he is, as said by another reactor, the ultimate performer. It means that he is able to mix all genres, proposes new roads, is not afraid to experiment, and all his interpretations, classical, audacious, rock, pop, folk, are led by his insane talent.
Please continue to listen to him, and you will familiarise with his unique voice, even in operatic mode!
I suggest to continue your Dimash's journey with Love is like a dream (a mind-blowing song with a little part of operatic voice, Dididau, very emotional too, Daybreak (I tear every time - important to know the background story). You won't be disappointed because he is always beyond words, he opens the doors of a new dimension, where you only have emotions.

The composer of this song was Dimash’s Composition professor. He died of COVID in July 2020 and this is Dimash’s tribute to his mentor and friend. The grief that Dimash feels on the passing of his professor is so heartfelt in this performance. The picture is that of the composer, Dimash’s teacher. The pianist was also a student of the composer. This performance was not long after the death, and you can see Dimash is trying very hard to hold it together which somehow he manages to do. Dimash sang this song for his professor (before he was his professor) on the occasion of his 70th birthday 6 years earlier. It’s a very different performance to this, but the composer was very pleased with Dimash’s interpretation of the song for one so young at that time. Dimash received a 100% score on his masters degree in Composition!

Dimash and the pianist poured in so much emotions into this performance. The song should be a mixture of joy and sadness for what it was originally intended for. The original was done with an orchestra but this one was stripped down to the piano which, as you said, was for it to be more intimate, personal. The emotions I had when I first heard it made me extremely sad. I listened with no captions and I was moved to tears. You hear pain in almost every note and word. The piano was not light and airy but dark and heavy, just what is needed to set this intentional mood. You sometimes hear pain through frustration or anger, pain through loss, and pain through helplessness. The expressions on Dimash's face told us about the amount of pain he had been experiencing. I had never heard anyone sing a song with so much emotion before and it was real, raw emotion not acted.

Thanks for coming back to Dimash. If you like a tragic song about parents children relationship, you should listen to Daybreak from Bastau concert. It's one of those songs with a lot of vocal fireworks so I understand that it might not be your cup of tea. But the lyrics are very meaningful and even the fireworks are there for a reason. It tells the real story of a boy who lost both his parents in cable car accident in China. His parents managed to pull him to safety before it was too late but sadly they didn't manage to survive. I believe the person who wrote the lyrics adopted the child !
Another very beautiful song with meaningful lyrics is Autumn strong. It's more classical (so again not your thing) but it's beautiful nonetheless. Again a real story about a Japanese actress who was deported from China after the war. Maybe the version by Gloria Wu would be ideal to understand the back story

Absolute love for this one ❤ so special and beautiful
You need to dive in more yes Dimash is not just a voice because voice-wise he maybe if not definitely "in my opinion at least" the best out there ❤ but he's got such a beautiful heart and he moves me.
You first heard SOS which is a very technical song of his yes it is kind of demonstration of "quite a quantity" of his ability. Not all of it he's got more❤😂 never failed to surprise me until this very day and I've been listening to him for quite some time now. But you really are missing out how incredible he can get emotionally so dive in and you'll not be disappointed ❤😊
There's a lot of recommendations that Dears kindly have already put for you but my suggestion is Daididau ❤ There's lots of versions but I recommend The Adai+Daididau one.
"Though you should definitely listen to the latest one on his channel but I recommend the version above first as it was the first version I heard so I LOVE it dearly more than the other ones" ❤
The music is so so beautiful and the lyrics are heartfelt too.

The gentleman on the screen is the man who wrote the song. He was also one of Dimash’s teachers. He had just passed away from Covid when Dimash sang this in his honor. He loved that man. His name escapes me now, but I am sure others have told you. I hope you can now realize that Dimash really expresses a lot of feelings in his songs. The song is about a parent/child relationship but with this particular performance I always think that as a teacher or a mentor you really made a difference if two of your young students remember you with so much emotion, love and sadness. Many have this "one" teacher - if you are very lucky more than one - you will never forget. The pain is so obvious in this performance when you compare it to when Dimash performed it for his teacher when he was 19. The first was both happiness to see your child finding love and pain of having to let your child go. This one just makes you cry - the loss, the grieving is heartbreaking.
