Dimash once said: "I'm not interested in octaves. They don't matter to me. Octaves are just tools I work with. My real goal is to take people to another world through my songs. I want them to feel better than they felt before they heard me. " He doesn't go on stage just to "scream" his abilities. He experiences and turns every note, every word into a feeling and transmits it to the audience. When he sings, he becomes the song itself. He is a music therapy for the soul. Dimash is the voice of the universe! He is sent to us by God!

Well he couldn't take me to that world all I can see here is a choreographed show I can't deny his vocals abilities for sure I was shocked the first time I have heard him to be honest but there is no emotions for me I prefer an ARTIST like AURORA original spontaneous quirky honest with her feelings who write her own songs I love her performances even when she make mistakes or forget the lyrics because she doesn't show off (this is just my opinion and everyone is free like whatever they want)

I always thought Opera singers are so skilled, but felt like it's all technique and no emotion but I can listen Dimash opera. The first few times I heard Dimash sings I thought it was different, he doesn't fit into any (genre) box that's mainstream. He definitely grew on me especially knowing the man behind his music super nice humble guy. If you check out some other songs from him but still don't connect with his music that's totally fine. We're all have different tastes in music. Thanks for checking Dimash out.

That's true - it sometimes takes time to "get" Dimash. But when I think about it... His style is so unique, really unprecedented. So far from mainstream indeed. Where could we have heard something like it before? I guess, nowhere. So his style has to be learned. For many, Dimash has also paved the way for other genres, such as opera. Same thing - I love Dimash’s opera - not usually others, with a few exceptions. I think it’s because Dimash’s vibrato is so natural.

Dimash is the best technically trained singer in the world today. This performance was from his digital concert he put on for his fans at the beginning of this year. I personally don’t like when someone compares him to other singer. It’s not fair to any artist to have to compete with another artist. There are so many wonderful singers in the world and each deserve to be recognized for their individual talent. Dimash is changing the music world, he mixes many genres together in a single song, there can be a mix of opera, classical, pop, jazz, folk and even rap. Thanks for your honest reaction. Can’t wait to see what you will pick as you start your journey with Dimash. 🎼🎶🎤🇰🇿❤️🇺🇸

Dimash has been studying music since the age of 5, now he is preparing for his doctorate. His vocal range is 7 octaves and 2 semitones. He has sung in 9 different languages. In the last edition of "New Wave" in August 2021 he has released three songs of three different genres "Stranger", "Fly Away" and "Ave Maria". He is the most versatile artist I know and the best vocalist today. He handles all the vocal techniques and has absolute control of his voice. He plays various instruments and has composed the music for some of his songs. The lyrics of his songs have a content something very welcome today where the musical trends are quite depressing.👌

I spent a career as a soloist in an internationally acclaimed ballet company, and I was fascinated by your use of the word "choreographed." Dimash resurges in me the feeling of elation when dancing the same choreography from night to night with the same passion, the same gratitude, and the same humility after hours, days, weeks, years of fanatical work and practice to offer your best. What a true, humble artist. He becomes the song with every fiber of his being. It's glorious to see such vocal precision meeting such physicality and emersion.
I think he's best summed up and revealed as an artist in his performance DAYBREAK BASTAU.

His newer releases Stranger and Qaragym Ai if you want emotion. His genres range from pop and contemporary to classic and Opera with some rock and some rap as well. I firmly believe that most people who say they don't like Dimash have not taken the time to fully explore his catalog of music.
Dimash is a phenomenon from Kazakhstan. He started singing lessons at 5 years old and was later found to have perfect pitch. He is University educated with degrees in classical and opera, as well as contemporary music, pop and jazz. He also completed a Broadway musical master class. On June 18th, 2020 he completed his masters specializing in composition and received his masters with honours having achieved the maximum score of 100%. He is currently working on his PhD in musical composition.
He currently has a vocal range of 7 octaves (C2-D8) but is humbly dismissive of this astounding fact and stresses that it is not the amount of range you have but in fact what you do with it. He has won many prestigious awards and is a decorated national treasure in his native Kazakhstan.
He has performed songs in 12 languages. He speaks fluent Russian and Kazakh, some Chinese and is pretty good in English and is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a difficult language to learn but he's doing well with it.
At 22 he was invited as a wild card to participate in I Am a Singer, a Chinese competition show for professional singers. He ultimately placed second because at the time the rules of the show disallowed anyone who wasn't Chinese to take first place. The show catapulted him to relative stardom worldwide and he became a pop superstar in China.
He is also famous in Russia for his neoclassical work with famous Russian/Ukrainian composer and arranger Igor Krutoy who came out of retirement to collaborate with Dimash. Igor has written songs for Dimash and arranged previously composed music specifically for Dimash. He is often at the piano for many of Dimash's performances. Dimash has since introduced pop songs in Russia as well.
His vocals range from a rich low bass/baritone to extremely high soprano notes. On at least one occasion he has sung a D8 in whistle tone for 5 seconds with vibrato. He also sings songs in many genres. He's a genius at mixing genres in a song, a style he himself refers to himself as neo-classic.
He was on a solo world tour when the pandemic struck. There are several full concerts available to watch online. His concerts are usually around 2 ½ hours with an eclectic mix of vocal styles and genres.
He was born into a musical family and both of his parents are famous singers and musicians in Kazakhstan, his mother being an operatic soprano. He was offered a position in the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned this position down to pursue his own path in neoclassical and contemporary music. Although he works with producers and promoters in other countries his music is produced and distributed through his own company called Dimashali Creative Center.
He's a multi-instrumentalist, competent on 8 instruments including piano, drums, guitar, marimba and the native Turk/Kazakhstan two-stringed instrument called a dombra.
On May 24th, 2021 he celebrated his 27th birthday. He is most widely known through his live performances and has released several albums, the first one going platinum in 37 seconds in China and triple platinum in less than an hour.
It has been widely recognized that his high notes are not whistle tones but head voice. Dimash rarely uses his whistle register but when he does it is spectacular. He has many millions of fans worldwide which he has named his "Dears"
He is soft spoken, polite, respectful, elegant and classy, also extremely humble, is often dismissive of his amazing talent saying that he simply wants to present music that moves and touches people and seldom goes without mentioning his love of country and its history.
    Bravo, Dimash.

It so strange for me, when people are saying he is always showing off. Because actually most of his songs are not about many octaves or something like that. I think they heard only his popular songs which made him vocal sensation. But he has much more. Yes, firstly he had to show off , because he is not from popular country with English language and he must to "break the world". He worked hard for this all life.
And the other thing - if the guy has wide vocal, why he should use only one tone? He has wide range to express the song. He sings in this way, because he CAN. Probably many singer would do this, but they just can't. That is why we are used to other type of music quality. I am so glad I have discovered him. He is my soul healer. And his personality is something wonderful, a role model for all.

Over 10 million fans around the world disagree with your assessment that he does not transmit emotions. For your information SOS means so much more to Dimash than when he originally sang it to honor Gregory Lamarchel, the French singer who became famous singing a cover of this song. The young man was 22 when he died of Cystic Fibrosis. He was greatly beloved by the French people. It became even more emotional for Dimash when his best friend Dennis Tan, an Olympic skater who skated to Dimash's SOS, was murdered by thieves. The song is about life and death and a great plea for understanding of why. At the end Dimash kneels by the dying friend, screaming then quietly telling his friend to "sleep, child, sleep" as he passes away.
If you think Dimash does not transmit these internal feelings of sorrow in this song you are not paying attention. Listen to this again without your preconceived ideas about Dimash's perfect vocal abilities or his mixing vocal styles. And be sure your sound system is up to par for Dimash's voice carries a lot of extra frequencies you can only hear live or with an HD audio system. I believe this concert was captured in HD. (Also note some other video recordings are not in HD audio.) Always read the lyrics of his songs so you understand how and why he sings it the way he does.

You have literally seen one performance of Dimash that was done with no audience. You need to actually see him perform to an audience and you'll realise how different it is. His audience is often seen to be in tears or mesmerized while listening and watching his shows. He also doesn't stick to just one genre, he's well known to cross over and mix genres as he feels like it. While he does a lot of operatic type music, which is where a lot of his training stems from, he loves to explore his ability and see how he can fit them to a genre. He is a talented individual that can write, compose, play and sing.
You seem a little biased towards the other performers you kept mentioning and that's unfair; each performer should be judged by what you see and hear them perform. I would like to point something out if I may. SOS is the song that Dimash used on several competitions where he had to show in 3 minutes his incredible skills so that he could be the winner. Maybe that is why many people really think that he is overreacting or he is just procedural. He is nothing like that and you will understand more of him when listening more of his music. There are many great singers out there, were and will be. Dimash is one of a kind.

The thing you will find if you watch him enough is that he performs in lots of different genres. He does pop, rap, rock, jazz, can growl like a metalhead and sings in many different languages, romantic, even pensive. Although he does some Operatic (that's one of his signature sounds), he does bounce around a fair amount and is always experimenting. Probably another reason some people don't like him, he can't quite be categorized. It's quite a rabbit hole. The other thing I have to say is Dimash is his own animal. No one else like him. There are thousands, even millions of pop singers. The genre is overdone. I like Dimash's work because he sings about different issues than "oh yeah baby, you sexy thang" (although he does have a few songs like that to, like "Give me your love"). You probably won't get a true sense of his abilities until you get at least 6-10 songs in, and there are dozens he's made now. Anyway, hope you enjoy the journey.

Thank you for exploring Dimash's talent! From my perspective, Dimash can convey the songs' meaning and feelings to me better than anyone else. I don't care at all about technicality. Only connections to the song and to artists matter. He is the best storyteller to me. When he sings, I start to imagine the story in my mind and feel the song. Only he and another artist can affect me that way.

Thank you for the reaction, but it's hard to come to any conclusions with Dimash from one performance so I'm glad you're willing to continue with more Dimash. You mentioned storytelling -- I suggest Samaltau from the Tokyo Jazz Festival. It's a Kazakh folk song; pretty stripped down, with him and two musicians live streamed from his home studio because of the pandemic.
Before I get into this, I acknowledge that everyone's tastes are different so I am speaking only from my perspective. Dimash is extremely versatile and sings in nearly every genre, and in multiple languages. Yes, he's often dramatic and he's a showman, but he can also be quiet and emotional, depending on the song and the circumstances. For me, his astounding technical prowess enhances, not detracts from, his performances. His versatility, creativity, and musicality are what make him so unique and that's what I like about him. He's always unpredictable and exciting and fun to watch. He's a dynamic performer and I find that more interesting than watching someone just standing and swaying in front of a microphone. I don't really understand people who say he doesn't connect with his audience because his fans and audiences ADORE him. (You can see it in his solo concerts which are available on his YT channel.) He's got multi millions of fans around the world. Every one of his concerts have sold out. His album went platinum in 37 seconds. That doesn't happen if he's not able to touch people as a performer. Sorry if I'm gushing, but in my whole (long) life, no other singer has enthralled me the way Dimash has. Since I discovered Dimash I literally can't listen to anyone else without finding them wanting.

    Thanks for the reaction.
A few things though... this performance was live but not in front of an audience. It was during quarantine. If you watch a performance during a live Concert with an audience like his Arnau Tour, you will see the great bond and connection he has with his public. He sings many genres and mixes genres on most songs. And to say that his performance seems kind of choreographed and not genuine is in my view an odd thing to say as you don't seem to know the meaning of the song neither his relation to the song which had a deep and profound meaning in his personal life. Agreed he's not everyone 's Cup of tea. I feel blessed to have this amazing artist in my life. I hope you will enjoy your journey with this wonderful artist.

Dimash can sing into your soul and never leave, he is addictive. He can sing any genre from opera to pop, folk, jazz, rock, rap etc etc you name it. You need to see more of him, he lives for music, he is music, no choreography he is the real deal. You don't seem to understand him, and judging him from just one song is unfair. Hello... He sang this song in 2017 in the Chinese competition The Singer. This song is part of the musical Starmania. I get that he is not for everyone, I wouldn't be listening opera on a daily basis, but I love this artist, his vocal agility, the passion he puts in his performances. He is releasing a lot of videos of songs he has already performed but have been only seen via UA-cam of his competitions or performances. I guess due to the pandemia video production was halted and now he is actually doing the videos. He is singing some pop music (Be With Me, Screaming, Golden...) He has a new song, Stranger, and is a production, when I listen to it, it makes me feel like a movie is about to begin... Lol. He is a fan of Michael Jackson and incorporates some of his moves in some performances. I can suggest Give Me Your Love (recently released in his channel also) is more pop and more of his "voice". Hope you react to Sinful Passion, as he showcases the agility in controlling his larynx, he does like a "folk" I guess voice-note-humming (I don't know) like Middle East folk I guess (I realized I was so uneducated about those rhythms). Anyways, thank you for the reaction, and hope to see more of him, he has a bit of everything. Yeah, Dimash can look quite dramatic when he performs:) Still, everything is authentic. I guess every performer has their own way to show emotions. Why compare; better just cherish everyone's uniqueness... I can tell that Dimash is a very passionate singer. He is so much in the song, that he transforms on stage. He kind of lives the song. His performances are often dramatic, he is a great actor on stage. Sometimes the structure of his songs even resembles the drama structure or an opera piece. This is understandable - Dimash’s first education is classical, opera. He was asked to join a Kazakh opera house, but he declined. He wanted to realize his creativity freely (opera is a very fixed genre). Dimash later earned a degree in pop & jazz vocals and composing, and has now started his doctorate in musicology. Overall, Dimash is a multi-style artist. He can't be put into any box. His main direction is a neoclassical crossover, but he also makes pop, folk, classical opera, plays instrumental pieces...he even raps! Usually he blends many styles in the same song. It takes a lot of musicality to blend different musical styles together so that the end result is coherent, as also many vocal experts have pointed out. Somehow Dimash still makes it. Maybe this isn't for everyone's liking, but I find it very interesting and enjoyable.
Dimash is so multifaceted artist, that it's necessary to see at least ten different songs to capture some kind of picture. And it's still not enough. So, I see it especially funny when people try to "critic" his artistry, emotional abilities, even album content and such based on - one song... :) He is a musical chameleon and adapts to the song. I've followed his work over 3 years, seen practically everything and still he really surprises every now and then. I have no doubts that he always will. He is continuously learning, experimenting, searching new things. It keeps all fresh and exciting, probably for him too. He is truly versatile. Everyone can find something in his repertoire (and I mean that). He has plenty of more "conventional" songs as well without high notes or vocal acrobatics - but so much emotion. Especially his Kazakh folk songs are my favorites. I recommend a song from the same digital concert (as this 'SOS'), which he just released: 'Qaragym-ai'. This song should be just what you asked. A very soulful performance. Thank you for your honest reaction and thoughts. Welcome to explore Dimash's music:)

With all due respect, I think it's not good to listen to what other people say before you do a first time reaction 😅 you already have an opinion even before you watch this, you let people get to you that he sings with no emotions so you watch while being skeptical about it! 😅
It also doesn't help that you choose this performance over SOS Singer 2017, which for me shows more emotion 😊 this one is an online concert with no audience, it's just different 🤷‍♀️
But of course, no one will force you to like him 😁 it's just too bad that you're missing out on something good, just because you let people get in your head 🤷‍♀️
Honestly, I'm not easily impressed, even if singers throw their technique and range (like Mariah Carey or Christina Aguilera), I'm amazed but I still don't call myself a fan! 😁 Dimash is the first one!! the first time I saw SOS from SINGER 2017, I was so touched in my heart and soul, no singers have ever done that to me!! and the rest is history! 🤭
Anyway, good luck on your channel! just a suggestion, next time before you react to any singers, maybe you can try not to be biased, not to listen to the singers' haters first 😊 keep yourself neutral! 😉 Good evening, sir!

mmm if u talking about soul, it's kindda unfair if u compare angelina's performance with this dimash's performance because i prefer ballad performance.. just sitting & singing with full of soul like angelina did. These 2 performance were has different feel. Angelina kind of more soul performance (static stage present) & this performance did u expect him to be static? in order to hit all of those crazy note he need to move his body (he did that in choreography way).
Dimash is the best singer in the world is fact, people who deny it simply because of they dont like dimash style. Mostly he mixed genres in 1 song that's unique or weird for some people. Dimash also can sing ballad song with soul but his mix genre is what's makes him different & his fans loved it.

Please consider doing something from a live performance as this was solely digital . Trust me, he connects solidly with his fans which are all over the world. He sings in many languages and works hard on English and Mandarin since they are not native to him taking the time to improve and improve. I would suggest a Autumn Strong. It is in Mandarin but it is incredibly beautiful. The version from the Singer 2017 is the first time he ever performed in Mandarin, in China and there were tears in the crowd. A digital performance with no audience due to Covid was done for his fans and to raise money for charity to supply his country with much needed medical supplies. Give him another chance. He is so talented, humble and appreciative of his fans which is something we never see from our own artist that I flew from Texas to New York for one night to see his concert. People from 54 other countries, some as far away as Iceland did the same. I hope you will try again. He also sings English, sometimes more modern songs but he did My Heart Will Go On from Titanic for a film festival. Stranger which is new and composed by famous Russian composer Igor Krutoy is also in English.

First an honest reaction is always welcome so thank you. Second, thanks to the anti-Dimash folks outhere, you already came with some negative presuppositions that in my opinion tainted your perception. This song in particular has been sung by Dimash for so many years. I think he did achieve technical perfection of the song since 2017 and 2018 and I personally prefer those technically perfect versions (I don't know when people started disliking perfection! ). However, this version in particular is NOT his most perfect rendition (I believe on purpose). I think he was focusing more on the emotions here which led some people (who know him) to say that they actually prefer it because it's more vulnerable, less perfect. It must have been be very hard for him to deliver a great, yet not a perfect version as he could/did in the past.
Anyway, I think some people are used to listen to average/normal singers and (especially the first times) they are taken aback by the "unaturally" gifted Dimash and they have an overload and reject the whole thing. What they perceive as showing off, is actually a normal vocal range for him and the result of 20+ years of hard work and academic training. It's natural for him to sing at this level of "technical perfection" at this point. I think what's hard for him is to try to sound less perfect. I'm obviously not talking about you here.. just the die hard haters. To use an imperfect analogy, it's like people are used to watch karting racing and all of a sudden there's this guy coming in a ferrari and they are blaming him for driving at a higher speed. Why can't he drive at 40 mph like everybody else? Well, what they are missing is this is the engine he has. I mean, if you have all those extra gears, why not using them?!
Opera is part of his training so unfortunately if you don't like it, you will miss on a lot. Especially that he injects Opera even in pop songs. But saying that I never liked Opera but the light touch Opera in Dimash's music has actually slowly grown in me and I now appreciate it. I surprise myself to look for Opera music sometimes for no reason!!
Emotional songs with no fireworks: Amanat, Samaltau (Jazz festival version), Qaragym ai (2020) are good examples but there are always hints of classical singing in them although quite light

@@larryshair Thanks for taking the time to answer and I hope you'll give him a few more chances. I won't be upset even if you don't like any of his songs. I personally don't like his pure pop songs (screaming, be with me, give me your love etc..), I think it's a waste of his talent but he clearly enjoys doing them and puts a lot of effort into them so I respect that. My wife can't listen to him at all but she grew up with Britney Spears AND doesn't like Opera so what can I say 😄
My point is that you can't please everybody and that's totally fine. What upsets the fans though is when somebody says Dimash is "fake" or "showing off" because they know the amount of dedication and hard work and love he puts for his music and it's presumptuous of some to impugn his motives..

You keep repeating what has been 'posted' in your comments by your subscribers and which leads me to believe you are already swayed by their judgement. If you think that Dimash sounds a bit operatic you have to consider perhaps the composer who wrote the song for this type of voice? is does in fact come from a show and, by the same token Angelina Jorden is singing the American Classics which of course you are much more familiar with and in this respect you already have a sense of 'emotions attached. However, having listened to Angelina Jordan and having seen in person Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and the like I have to admit Angelina Jordan still sounds her age in places which is like a young girl trying to sing a 'saloon singer' song. I imagined you would be open to all genres however you seem to side on the edge of caution to what your post comments are telling you...unsure?

What Dimash does is unprecedented. Since we have been able to record the human voice, there has been nobody like him….not even close. There is nobody that can go from a B2 to an E6 in one split second. You also will not find many people that can hit whistle notes off the piano. There is nothing traditional about what he is doing….because no one else has ever been able to do what he does.

@@larryshair His "Popera" style is similar to Josh Groban, just taken to an extreme level. If you watch more, you will see his charisma and dramatic flair in everything he does. He said one of his idols and biggest influences was Michael Jackson....so it is easy to understand why he performs the way he does. Since he is educated in both classical and contemporary music styles, you will normally hear both in the songs he does. He will rarely sing a song like a normal person would . With abilities like his, I am sure it would bore him to death to do that. It would be like Picasso painting stick figures. If you ever listen to Dimash's interviews you would know that this is not choreographed (any more than any other singer) and his passion is real. Also, he didn't try to showcase his octaves specifically, it is a famous song that just had many octaves for the original singer (now deceased). Dimash was raised to be very kind, thoughtful, and generous. He is very earnest also. He has a Master's and is working on his Ph.D. and he had been offered a position in Opera but he wanted to do a more blended genre of music. He has been studying music since he was 5 years old. Both his parents are famous singers in his country and many countries that were a part of the former Soviet countries. I have always loved all types of music and even as an opera singer he is exceptional. I hope you review SOS (some of the other versions of this Famous French song) Sinful Passion (a famous Kazakh song - in this song Dimash honors the original singer with a dirge) Hello (Lionel Richie cover) Autumn Strong (a famous Chinese song-The song is about Yoshiko Yamaguchi (山口淑子), a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II) Dawn is Coming (another famous Chinese song based on a tragedy of a cable car accident where the parents make sure their child survives) Confessa (a famous Italian song, which he sings the first verse in Chinese to honor the audience, and the rest in Italian, along with The Diva Dance ( the song the Blue alien sings from the movie 5th Element which was believed to be impossible to be sung by a human so parts of the song were engineered in the movie) He also sings the Diva Dance and the Drunken Concubine alongside a famous traditional Chinese Opera singer (a male who sings the soprano parts in traditional Chinese Opera). Your comments that there were people who felt Dimash was a "show-off" were new to me and I suspect they have never actually listened to Dimash talk about his music nor understood how much devotion he has put into his craft. It is disrespectful of his hard work to assume that he is "showing off," when he is singing. His native language is Kazakh and Russian (his country was a part of the former USSR.)

    Hi Larry,
Another Larry here, also a music lover. For the record, I come from a musical background family. Mom was an operatic soprano as well as a concert violinist & pianist. Dad was full blood Cherokee and highly proficient in his cultural music. In my youth, I myself was lead baritone in an 80 voice choir. That being said, with listening to all kinds of music from around the world for the last 70+ years I must say that I find Dimash and his dedication, training, motivation, flexibility, etc admirable.
You might try broadening the variety of his singing styles. From opera, contemporary, rap, etc, singing in 12 languages and speaking 3 or 5??? Not really sure how many. His training began when he was about 5. What I find extraordinary is the vitality and flexibility at around the age of 17-19. He's progressed so far from there so has just gotten better ... from great. How does one do that. Here are some songs you might want to listen to (also try listening to the - Jan 30, 2017 - version of S.O.S. It's much better):

Opera 2 (Didn't know his Dad was in the audience)

I was curious to see your reaction, but I haven't watch it yet, 'cause I'm seeing a lot of comments here saying that you made comparisons with other artists that have nothing to do with him, his style, the genres he sings, etc. A genuine first reaction is supposed to be a reaction to a specific artist, paying attention to him/her with no prejudices, not a random comparison with other people, just because you have reacted to those people before him/her.
That said, you discarded all the suggestions and didn't watch the performances people asked you to watch, but a performance with no audience filmed during the lockdown, then said that Dimash doesn't connect with the audience (there's none!). It was the worst choice you could make, sorry. The second mistake that doesn't qualify you as a reactor worth following is comparing a performer singing alone on a streaming platform with completely different artists singing with arenas packed with people at their feet. You should have gone with what had been suggested, but you didn't bother to, and that's not what reactors purposely do (it might happen at times by mistake) if they want to keep their followers.
Sorry, but I'm not interested in your next reactions to him anymore, since you ruined the very first (and most important) one on purpose. I'll go watch this one, then probably unsubscribe, 'cause if you did this mistake with D, you'll probably do the same with other artists in the future, and I have too much respect for talented singers and musicians (whoever they are) to condone that.

Bravo, pozivam sve Dimashove pristalice da napuste platformu. Iscenirana i planirana reakcija očigledno. I ne radi se o izboru klipa, ovo je jedna od najmoćnijih verzija pjesme SOS. Koga ne dotakne, slon mu je stao na uho, a emocije ne možete probuditi u onome ko ih nema.

I don't think you noticed that I LOVED the song. I, personally, don't prefer opera style songs but am glad to hear that he has other genres that I am looking forward to. I didn't mean to ruin this for you "on purpose".

You should check others songs. This show was digital. Try "Love is like a dream" with real audience. He is dramatic but authentic, and I just love to wach him on stage . A real artist.

Because SOS is a cover, I wonder what the original sounds like. Not too many singers have that kind of vocal range, classically trained or no. I've never seen this particular performance. Cool stage effects!
Ummm...you have only seen this one performance. SOS is a wildly popular stage song that audiences look for. If you want to see a video of him being profoundly absorbed in his singing, here is one:
Samaltau: A 'classic" song about his native country and the heartbreak of a young man from the Kazakhstani countryside conscripted into the Soviet Army into a war not his own. It is in his own language and includes native instruments. The notes of the song are completely within his tenor range, so the uncertainty of "why the octave acrobatics" is removed. The passion and heart-rending story of a young rural man doing his duty (no choice, really), but thinking he is leaving his beloved mountains, his family, and everything behind forever is completely conveyed, imo, even not having the language.

He chose to go into "popular" music, rather than classic opera, so his musical "trajectory" will be somewhat different, I guess. The video above was from an annual festival, but during Covid, so it was pre-recorded in a studio.

Alright I'll go for a little ride with you. Subscribed I have never understood those that say Dimash is not connected to his songs. For me, he is the most connected singer around. He can sing any genre and make you believe. If you continue on the Dimash journey try songs of his like Stranger, Sinful Passion, Your love or even Give Me your Love. Try listening to SOS (His signature song) in the many different flavors. He did this song on CBS's the World's Best with a 103 degree fever. Yes, many singers may be jealous of his 7 octave range but not admit it. He has worked extremely hard since he was 5 years old to take his natural talent and make it what you hear today.

Yes, and on The World's Best,he showed the kind of principled unmaterialistic man he is.He withdrew with dignity before the final, after being lied to by the show.He had asked, before going on the show, whether he would be competing against children, something which in his country, is not done..He was told he wouldn't ,then he found out he would be competing against two children, one of them a singer from his country, and the other, a 12 year old piano player who won the final.Respect to Dimash and shame on The Worlds Best.

To give some insight, I don't normally prefer opera. It's like seeing a western that has your favorite actor in it, but you don't like westerns. You'll still watch it and enjoy your actor, but the genre would leave you a bit wanting. It's like that for me and opera. Maybe that's why some don't immediately connect but I can tell I'm on to something special.
