Welcome to Rockstar games. Years after they come out you still keep finding new, cool shit to mull over
@@TheEmeraldMenOfficial and it’s awesome that these discovers are still talked about. That shows support to rockstar games as well!
everytime he uploads I am baffled I love this person
Fun Fact: The "suspended cabin" is actually a food cache. People (particularly in Alaska and northern Canada) build them to safely store food away from bears and other wildlife. That's why there's no ladder.
Would be interesting to bring a game camera up there though.
Without a ladder how do you get your food?
@@nobodyfamousXwith a ladder
@@nobodyfamousXyou only use the ladder when you need it
Canadian, eh? That explains the dialect! They're not a cult, just Canadian!
The sheer amount of work that was put into this completely missable portion of the game is just insane. It goes to show that while a big budget can go a long way, passion will ultimately be the deciding factor for creating something truly special.
I just love how rockstar makes anything that is small mission and forgetful to some players which actually is big the more you discover. They put a lot of work into anything small. I love it ❤❤❤ totally agree! 😊😊
Like everything else. Anything done without passion it's not worth your time since it's gonna be crap 💩.
@23hell finish ur sentence what the hell u gon say
@23hell nice
110 hours a week working on it so it had to be good!
Incredible how RDR2 is 5 years old and there are some still unsolved secrets. Keep up the good work.
Agreed! When I see someone's uncovered something new I'm quick to click, I love that there are so many secrets in this game!
Not just unsolved secrets, but secrets that are only now getting solved. It just adds so much to the experience
This has to be the number one comment topic. I bet if someone were to go across the internet and gather all RDR2 comments the number topic will be about not believing how there’s still secrets and unsolved mysteries.

Yeah the porter mystery was a amazing one!
We know it’s always good when the Strange Man explains it for us now, don’t cha?
Blenchin dippy plimick, getting me boiled, doodle, ill flagger your felt wontcha
Don’t forget to loot the saddlebags of the horses at the end. One of them always has a gold nugget in it. And two of the horses are pretty decent. I always take the Buckskin American Standardbred. And you can get the pump shotgun early for free in the attic of the main house.
Maybe I'm missing something but Everytime I go into the gun shop in a fresh new playthrough the pump shotgun is always 0$ for me.
You're telling me I can get it even CHEAPER? Lmfao
That ending was creepy AF. Hearing Arthur laugh like that after massacering people is just horrifying.
Arthur let his inner Micah take over on this one.
At this point I’m convinced strange man is one of the developer team.
Half-hour Strange Man video? Yes please
5 years old and still has some of the best graphics i have seen in all my years of gaming.
And Physics
Something else ain't it?!
I ABSOLUTELY loved this video. Please make more vids like this, it’s like a documentary for red dead and I’m here for it!
I loved the end of this! Arthur laughing walking off. So perfect. This editing is amazing! Love you Strange Man 🖤
Dude, this editing! It's been awesome to watch you, your editing and your channel grow over the years. Well done, strange man.
Thanks for still delivering high quality content. I still play RDR2 just to enjoy the environment.
Me too. I've been playing my current playthrough since September of 2021 and likely over a year in the epologue. I'm trying to complete all the challenges and the compendium. I've created some other challenges for myself, but a lot of times I just go exploring, hunting, fishing and picking herbs along the way and just chilling, watching animals, the scenery, NPC's, the weather, and the weird game quirks and glitches that seem to come and go, of which I can't figure out since there's been no significant updates for RDR2.
I wonder if some of the RDO updates bleed into story mode?
"I'll be on my way then". 🐎👀
Greatest environment in any game ever. Better than real life ( if you are living in a polluted city and don't have the opportunity to enjoy nature)
The only reason This game will always occupy my PC is cause I reduce my stress in rdr2's open world
@@mrnobody3161 Same, bro. Same
@@mrnobody3161I would love to hear about your challenges and especially the glitches. I never had any glitches and I still play the vanilla version, I also never had that bug where the gang comments about Arthur being dressed not right for the weather (that came whit the snow holiday event they did on RDO) so I'm sure it bleeds over from RDO
@@mrnobody3161 after that play through you should delete the latest update and play the release version
I think the smaller cabin was probably supposed to have been Pappy's cabin, the nicer accomodations and the double bed hinting of him actually being able to have sex (he does have 4 sons and a daughter, after all). The separate bed in the bigger cabin is probably Eedie's, and the 4 bunks are for the 4 sons.
Now... For the more dubious aspect, the double bed in Pappy's cabin (what I believe to be his cabin, at least), suggests that he still is getting it on, even if he tells their sons that they can't... And the fact that Eedie "gets all of the benefits" might suggest that she is Pappy's "favorite"... You do the math :(
Also, Edie seems to not have a problem with her sexual desires and is his most loyal child. She may not be having problems with her desires because they’re being fulfilled with her dad (gross) and she defends his ideals strongly as a way to hide the eyes from her.
Just a theory.
This makes sense.
I hate how much this makes sense.
The bigger bed for him, and his wife... Duh.
Also, if he were having sex, OR edie were having sex, the other boys would be revolting, and pointing out their dad's, and their sister's hypocrisy, when they tell them to abstain.
And "Gets all the Jam", doesn't necessarily mean benefits, it just means she gets all the cool stuff, implying that he likes going on patrol, more than guarding the shed.
These people notice the moment you kill someone with a bow and arrow, even though they're far apart, and not even facing each other, if ANY of them were having sex on the premises, everyone would definitely notice.
Yup
Perfect timing. Just did this mission a few hours ago. Doing my 3rd play through & it’s amazing these videos keep on coming after these years.
I've always had an intrigue in the Chez Porter family and their dialect, and had a feeling they were a direct reference to something. Excited to see what you've examined to bring my own thoughts on this. Sad that the story just wipes them all out entirely, and if you go to them early and kill them it cancels the Javier mission. They couldve allowed some relatives or something to come along, refortify due to Arthur and Javier's invasion and then make more out of them. Either way this is one of the few new RDR 2 videos I genuine am excited to check out
Reference to los Sacamantecas (Juan Díaz de Garayo)
I'm on my second playthrough, but during my first, the family always respawned. I found them before the mission and they ended up respawning. Then I got the mission later on down the road and if I remember correctly, they stopped respawning after that.
Most of the time I really did not care about them. They had no point or story behind it that I’ve known of. But you tell us things that we’re not seen and give us viewers a story to tell.
Fun fact: this home robbery mission with Javier is also the earliest point in the game where Arthur coughs, even if you haven’t done the Thomas down (haven’t caught tuberculosis yet) mission!
*Person coughs from inhaling dust in the barn*
Everyone on internet: He HaS TB.
The fact you can do it before shows it’s just dust and not TB
@@Unknown19.19 could be, or maybe a slight oversight by rockstar
@@xXSilentAgent47Xx entirely possible, but if it’s true it adds to the emersion even more. There are several missions where Arthur coughs slightly for no apparent reason
@@rasankhalid4732 Nah coughing still exists outside of TB believe it or not
I had no idea there were additional conversations that could be overheard before Javier’s mission. Neat.
Also the dictionary was very useful. I only really understood about a quarter of what the Porter’s were saying.
6:00 I went camping with my class in gr4 and there was this cabin in the woods that was up in the trees with no ladder or any way too climb up it and the cabin had boarded up windows and the door it was creepy
They're cabins to store food in so bears can't reach it.
@@AfrikaansVoodoo well that does make sense but why was it boarded up like a old dilapidated house?
@@jordanthomasina2854maybe all the food was gone or went bad?
THAT ENDING WAS PHENOMENAL!!! I APPLAUD YOU, GOOD SIR👏👏👏👏👏❤GREAT WORK! As usual.
The production value on this is phenomenal. Leagues better than I remember it being a year ago.
Arthur hits the moonshine a little too hard at the end there 😂
The cinematography on your vids is outstanding.
I love that your videos don't have any commentary. It's perfect 🥰👌
Right on. I hate when videos start with "alright guys welcome back to another [content] video." So glad Strange Man does it this way.
Fizhy is the only one that can do narrated lore videos
Personally, who watches a UA-cam video just to read what the person wants to talk about? I'd rather hear the person, but that being said Strange Mans video style is good and I don't mind reading them, but I'd still rather watch and listen lol can easily skip the boring or annoying parts.
Damn, now I wonder if there's a secret encounter where, if you rob the Porters without killing them and afterwards see all their encounters, then go to the Clawson's Rest cabin, Arthur puts it all together and can confront the Porters with what he knows.
The “elevated cabin” is for storing dried meats and other foods long term and the reason it’s high up and has no ladder is so animals, especially bears, don’t get into it.
The way the GTA theme kicked in (in the introduction) sounded absolutely amazing
It is for a video like this that I will never stop thinking and saying that Red Dead Redemption II is a great masterpiece
I believe that RDR2 is the GREATEST WORK OF ART IN THE HISTORY OF MAN.
The ending was SO creapy with Arthur laughing. Your editing is so so great!
I love learning more and more about the game through your videos
Ouahoo!!! C'est complément fou. Et c bien fait. Superbe histoire et le montage avec la vengeance d'arture morgan et magnifique.
I wonder the last moment where Arthur is laughing hysterically drunk out of madness could be related to eliza and isaac dying, which effected him to take down the porter family. Interesting idea you did!
I Think if any person with the ability found a bunch of People who murdered a mother and got her two young children killed, they’d probably do the same and Good on them for it.
@@LiamMacD 100% facts 👏🏽👏🏽
I believe that Arthur references his failings of killing innocent people to other characters in the game. Javier relied on gossip to tell Arthur that they were robbers and killers. They were isolationists, protecting themselves in their beliefs. They were guilty of the outlanders' laws that they didn't adhere. I believe that in reality, we're all trying to separate ourselves from others beliefs in order to achieve our own happiness.
I appreciate your comment.
@@27TacitusKilgoreDude, no. They literally talk about kidnapping, potentially raping, and them murdering a women??
A 30 minute video, crazy stuff, Strange Man.
The ending, though. You absolute madlad.
Best damn rdr2 vids on UA-cam are done by StrangeMan.
Among all the praise this channel gets i have to contribute for once.
The amount of useless content i click away on this platform is unfathomable.
But this guy manages to keep me on the edge of my seat everytime!
It isn't related to the topic of the video, but I personally discovered something I've never experienced in the game (after 5 years playing)
If you're on a mission, and riding wagon with a character on your side, if you press X (or the square button on Playstation) you give the guide of the wagon to the character you have on your side. Don't know if I was the only one who never did that, it's cool
I didn't watch the video yet but I'm so excited to see a 29 min vid about this family!! I didn't know there was that much of a lore about them!! Also 29 minutes of your video is always great to watch😊😊
This was brilliant from start to finish. What a great story and really well put together! Man, keep up the good work!!
Amazing video, as always! And major kudos on putting together that dictionary of the Porters' dialect! You really are one of the tall men in the RDR2 community 👍
Also, can we note the extreme hypocrisy of a man who had six children, yet expects his children not to have sex or start a family of their own?
I wonder if there's a connection between the Porter family and the Butcher's Creek community.🤔
@@27TacitusKilgore While both groups of people hold a religious fervor in their beliefs, the people of Butcher Creek seem to believe in a curse more than in the imminent end of the world that the Porters are expecting... If there's a connection, it's that neither like having strangers around, although the Porters are more murderous about it, while the folks at Butcher Creek are just rude and will only attack if you antagonize them (or greet the wrong individuals) or act aggressively. I can't say that I really see a connection, but it's still an interesting possibility.
@@MOONSUN4Life The people in Butchers Creek just don't like me at all. I have a hard time trying to pass through there. If I so much as breathe in someone's direction or get within ten feet of them, they're coming after me. And oh, don't accidently run over one of their chickens. I was trying to cross the bridge and didn't realize there a was a chicken there. The whole town immediately came after me.
I love your mini-movie at the end!! Keep it up :)
You got me feeling mega uncomfortable at the end there dude wtf

Hello Strange Man,
I am from Spain and I have to say that your work is awesome. Thank you for all the time you pass doing these videos I enjoy a lot.
A greeting for you Strange Man and thanks again.
The quality of this fact-filled video is right up there with the best. And I mean, BEST !
Your videos are so cinematic and beautiful to watch, no other (RDR2) UA-camr comes even close. I really hope you hit a million subscribers soon, you deserve it. Thanks for all your hard work!
No other game has RdR2's bragging rights...
Trully staggering level of depth.
Absolutely the best RDR2 clips on UA-cam! Thank you, Strangeman.
Can't remember hearing Arthur laughing like that before like an evil villain near the end of the video 😅
i taken that family out when i was hunting alone searching for treasure in area / its first time i seen javier talking about them in camp mostly i never used the camp was always looking elsewhere and dutch used to send charles smith to look for me to see if i was ok
Bill came for me while I was looking for anything else to do before the Saint Denis train robbery.
0:57 I have to say, my first play through was perfect. I literally stumbled upon the shack at the perfect time, that I got the UFO right there. it was such a shock lol
20:45 Man,i f**king love the Clouds system in this game ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Man I wish that could've been an actual unknown mystery with all the cut scenes of Arthur connecting the dots to the poor kids in Clawson's. Then him killing all Porters but one and he forces that one to show where they buried the Clawson mama. Then after he executes the last Porter, he takes the Clawson mama's bones back to her cabin where Arthur gives the whole family a proper burial. Then they'll be together in death. Mama and her two babies forever
Bro, my brother's name is Sawyer, and when Strange Man mentioned that name, I literally spit all over my computer, I wasn't even drinking anything either, that's how shocked I was.
The last clip made me a huge laugh
-"Ooooh hickery"

I suppose it could be based on the heaven's gate cult, but I think it's less specific overall. It was actually fairly common for pioneer families to isolate themselves in the early days of settling the west. A man would claim some land in the middle of nowhere, with nobody else around for miles, take a wife and have lots of children... they'd grow their own food, gardens and livestock, so they rarely needed to go to town for anything resulting in very little outside interaction or socialising. The isolation would often lead to strange beliefs and unique slang, developed over several generations, that could be considered new dialects in some cases, though not entirely new languages as suggested. Even the Porters here just used variations of other English words or changed the meanings of English words, very few of their slang words could be considered entirely new, unique words. The one thing I'm surprised at is that they're celibate, since many isolated families practiced incest, thinking they could keep their "bloodline" pure that way... an idea that originated with European and middle eastern royal families...
I always thought that these guys were based on the multiple isolated hillbillies of the central and southern Appalachian Mountains (like the families from “the hills have eyes” or those “dark pictures anthology” games. It’s why I also thought that the father and daughter were “mating”, giving them a reason for why they don’t have the problems that the boys have. It would also explain the kidnapping aspect as I’m fairly sure the heavens gate cult never did that, preferring to brainwash people to come on their own. It is interesting to see so many similarities to the heavens gate cult though, despite there already being a very obvious one elsewhere.
@@animewitch1416i think the murfree brood are based on hills have eyes
Fun fact. If you return as John in 1907 all of the lootables including the shotgun re spawn.
