That first question you answered, about finding a work/life balance - thank you! You just confirmed for me everything that I've come to realise over the last that last eight years that I've been teaching. There isn't a balance all of the time. Sometimes it feels like you've found one,but something will always happen that upsets that balance, and that's ok. Also, how you talked about stress and getting things done - I think I realised in probably my fourth year of teaching that there was always going to be stressful situations and it's OK to feel stressed and overwhelmed by things, but that you can't let it to get the best of you. Things will get done because they have to get done and there's no other choice. So there's no point in over stressing about it, or about finding the time....you'll find the time, because there is no alternative. I just discovered your channel a week ago and I'm so so loving the content you put up. You're an inspiration!
First of all, your little jacket is super cute! Love the colors. You have excellent style! LOL about the horror poop stories!! I totally agree with you about learning life skills for kinders... I love seeing them light up when they learn a life task! - Christina
Really enjoyed this video. I'm in the process of doing an accelerated certification program right now and quite overwhelmed. Could you do a video on the data binders and breaking down standards? I'll be teaching at an inner city school where most kids are several years behind where they should be so both of those skills would be priceless for me. Love your videos!
I will be student teaching soon. Thanks for all of the advice. If it was possible could you do a dress for success video. Maybe feature some professional looks to wear to placement school.
I also wanted to add that I set up Make it Count Monday in my classroom yesterday, and it was a huge success - I've adapted it slightly, but heave already had three people come into my room - including a Ministry of Education visitor!!! - and praise me for it.of course I said 'Well, you should check out The Lettered Classroom' on UA-cam! Thanks for the awesome ideas.
Idea: I bought tables chairs shelves and a small couch from goodwill. Cheap and in okay shape. Doesn't matter tho, will be destroyed by kids within a couple of years
Could you make a video on how you're going to be breaking down the standards?
Thanks for sharing all your wonderful tips with us.
The Book Whisperer is AMAZING!!!! I love it. It really changes your thinking
First comment!! Love your videos! I'm just now going to be a freshman this fall and right now when I grow up I want to be a teacher!😀
Best of luck to you!!! 😊

😂 you are too funny! Kiddos to you. I'm glad it worked out for you and your kiddos.
Were you able to have a self care routine during your first year teaching? (e.g. time for working out, journaling, reading, etc.)
No. It was honestly survival.
You should link things like your social media/blog/etc. in the description!
;) I have started getting much better about it! Check out my more recent videos! Thanks for watching!
Sheets for bulletin boards!?!? Omg. Why haven't I thought of this!!!!!
It's amazing!
Also those awesome patterned table clothes you can buy in dollar stores work really well for bulletin boards and wall coverings.
