Seriously count your blessing for having a field trip coordinator. Thank you so much for the new ideas! Gonna prep some of this for upcoming trips now that i am on break!
I work in England and every year I organise a trip to the World War I battlefields in France and Belgium. We take 100 11/12 year olds for a 6 day trip. Good organisation is definitely the key to a successful trip! I am so pedantic about it but I just love organisation. In my helper's pack I include information on behaviour expectations which is crucial with the age group we take! We also have to take risk assessments and all helpers have a list of the pupils' medical information. You look super organised too! I hope you have a great trip!
I am a museum tour guide and so I give two hour tours on weekdays for schools. Any tips for managing the students? Also an updated version or part two of this video will be great! ;)
I love how your mind works..so much attention to detail..you make what would be a chaotic event seem so casual and calm..all about communication and being prepared..love this video..
I would use the gallon plastic zip lock bags for the students lunches. This way if you store them in a small cooler the bags won't dissolve with the ice or condensation. Also, if there is a spill in one of the lunches, it's contained within the plastic bag and thus makes clean up easier. Just a little something that my school in NC does. Thanks for all your great info. I will definitely use some of them and pass some on.
+Angelica Bernal That i a great idea! We don't use ice in our coolers. I put ice packs inside, but your idea is great for those who don't have ice packs.
I also pack latex free gloves and a trash bag or two. I've had some get sick on the field trip and even on the bis ride. Also my school gives the choice of a school sack lunch or bring yours from home. I keep a laundry basket with good handles to pack the home lunches in.
I meant to say: we have a school nurse who packs a first aid backpack which contains everything from sun screen to a first aid kit! We also make sure that helpers have the phone numbers of staff on the trip and the coach drivers. We once left a dad, who had wandered off, behind! If he didn't have our numbers he'd probably still be wandering around the Somme.
Bridget, What brand are your zipper pouches? I agree with spending a little more but having them for years. I would include 1 or 2 plastic bags in case kids get sick on the bus.
+Mana98ify That is a fantastic idea! I am adding that to my list. Thank you for sharing. Honestly, it doesn't say but I found some that I really like amzn.to/22WhISy The size is what TSA requires so any bag that size would be great. I don't see me having to buy new ones any time soon.
My daughters school tell us in the permission slip to bring a bagged lunch everything goes in the trash so everything that they bring for lunch or snack goes in the ♻️ or the 🚮. I also like the badge idea since you put the kids on the parents badge I think it would be a good idea to put the parent on the kids badge such as Ann is the parent and she has Amy and Tim so on Amy and Tim's badge you would put team Ann.😄🔖

What does your school do if the kids cannot eat the school lunch due to special needs or food allergies?
May I link to your video for a grant project that I am doing for Texas A&M University, please? If so, how would you prefer it to be cited?
