  • Highlights of my 3 day trip to 1770. We had some great sailing conditions and found some Spotted Mackerel and School Mackerel.
Mackerel were caught trolling dead baits and hard body lures.
The other guys stayed for a whole week and the fishing really turned on after I left. Derek even caught a Sailfish!
Fishing from a sailing kayak is so much fun!

This would be the ultimate toy if it weren’t for the $10,000 price tag. $10,000? For that much your options if you go used are endless: from a sailboat to a nice sized motor boat, to a really nice jet ski, which a fishing sled. A nice truck, a down payment on a house. It’s a kayak with a sail. TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS???

Cheers Roger! Yeah its nothing to be cruising along at 10-13kmph... after that trip, I went out and bought some skirted lures and Halco Lazer Pros. So I'm excited to see what I can troll up here off the Gold Coast with them this summer!

      @@hooked_on_adventure Nice, I reckon you'll do well.
I'm interested in your fish keeper. Is it home made or purchased? It looks a lot easier than trying to stuff them in a tub.

Awesome video. You should try the nitta dead bait rig. Keeps the bait upright, makes it swim like it's still alive and won't rip the belly open even while high speed trolling.

I just just checked out the Nitta Rigs. They look awesome! I make my own dead bait rigs and they are a very similar concept.

@@hooked_on_adventure I've owned kayaks and canoes most of my life but there's always the drawback that you can't fatigue your arms because they ARE your motor. It's Especially true when encountering winds, currents or a BIG fish on the line. There have been a few times I had to cut the line on a big one because I needed my arms to get me home! Which is what I really love about these boats is that you can use arms, legs, wind or all of them to get around

  • @Krishnafred

That's fun, but not for the fish, rather cruel. Considering bying one but living in the city I need a place to store it.

Thanks, I appreciate that fishing isn't for everyone.
I respect the fish and dispatch them quickly and humanely.. I also try not to waste anything with what we don't eat from the frame, going to my cats and finally the remains are buried under my fruit trees.
Fishing is one of my greatest passions and what this channel is all about. 🐟🎣😁

Nice video. I cant wait for warm weather here to get out on my TI again. I really like what you have did with the front cockpit for when you are out fishing solo. I also really enjoyed the "lure cam". It was awesome. What type of camera did you use for that?

    • @hooked_on_adventure
      @hooked_on_adventure  3 роки тому +1

Cheers! Yeah I am really happy with the deck. It gives more secure storage with easy access and works really well as a platform to walk on and fight and land fish from.
The troll camera is from ebay. I love watching back the underwater footage.. there's been a few times where its given me a glimpse of the one that got away...
