They really lost an opportunity of making Roxy connect with Flora, it would be the logical option since both have strong connections to nature and could bond over that
Flora and Roxy should’ve been besties in a similar way to Bloom and Stella. Like Flora and Roxy are like Flora and Fauna while Bloom and Stella is like fire and light
Flora's the group mom while Roxy's the group baby. It's the logical conclusion for those two to be close. I also really like the idea of Roxy being a potty mouth and Flora trying to get her to swear less.
Honestly if they never wanted to make Roxy more important character they would just make her stay on Earth, perhaps going to the school for Earth Fairies. They had many options and go with probably the hardest for them
I think it would be cool if they made S5 about Roxy adjusting to Alfea. Or give her own spin off series that by it's conclusion the continuity would go into the canon S5 timeline. They could even use the canon comic material.
Honestly,i think it's likely that because of how much the BC fucked up things, there wouldn't BE any kind of schools or anything else that can support a magic society/infrastructure for a LONG time. Remember that the BC's goals was totally eliminating any form of magic. It's a not a stretch that schools would be one of the first things they would target to make sure it can't come back. And while the Earth fairies could help in rebuilding, they'd most likely be more focused on unfucking their own kingdoms. So that would be a good reason why Roxy goes to Alfea,BUT that would require that the writers acknowledged that S1-4 matter and focused on the Earth magic returning plot. But yeah,i don't why they bothered with sending Roxy to Alfea they weren't going to do jackshit with her.
@@infinitedreamer9359 same reason that Mirta and Daphne ended up there despite not doing bugger-all with them. I've no idea what that reason is, though.
Really though, that was one of the main problems I had with S4's ending. The show paints it as a happy one.The girls defeat the big bad and ride off into the sunset, but Earth is a literal clusterfuck waiting to happen. Not only is magic coming back to a society that is NOT prepared for it in the slightest, but the fairy queens who would helping the Earth transition would likely be too busy unfucking their own kingdoms to really deal with this for a long time. The Winx Club don't offer to give any sort of aid to the Earth Fairies and it make them look like assoles tbh.
@Will N i think She isnt, She isnt either a charmix fairy. Every fairy has a different style or whatever. If She rlly was, She could do what Winx did, like to earn the gifts etc. But She didn't had any of these or spells to believ others in magic, so She isnt
I've always wanted Roxy to follow in Bloom footsteps yes she's apart of the club but she would go to Alfea and make friends of her own introducing some new friends and faces into the club creating some new dynamics. While the OG winx girls are of doing the guardian fairy thing and continuing there lives on Earth Roxy and her mini Winx club would be in the magic universe having there own adventures with the two teams occasionally helping each other out the older girl's mentoring the younger and the younger girls providing support where necessary. Such a missed opportunity Roxy deserved so much better.
That's what I thought the show would do moving forward from S4 too because *it was right there.* To me, that's what it felt like the season was building up towards: the Winx mentoring or at least inspiring the next generation of Guardian Fairies, starting with Roxy. I feel like the near-universal wish of the fandom wanting Roxy to become a 7th Winx was from that: wanting to see Roxy become an active main character, much like how Bloom was in S1. Even if the Winx couldn't actively mentor her because they all have several different things going on with them (Guardian Fairy duties, half of them being crown princesses, etc) Roxy could still aspire to be like them and form her own club. Find her own friends and her own footing in this new magical world _with Earth involved._ Season 4 had so much build up to a generational-type of story and it would've been perfect for the series too. Roxy's adventures for all the newcomers and the Winx just getting to live their adult lives being Guardian Fairies would've kept the fans who grew up with them. Like, it's actually baffling that they _didn't_ take this route for the show.
That’s exactly what I was thinking💯💯give Roxy her own fairy group💯💯that would’ve been the perfect storyline tbh as much as a love Roxy I’ve never really seen her as the 7th member(only because she was younger then the rest of the girls) I’ve always thought of her as a pupil
Same. NGL I seriously thought maybe Roxy would make her own friends at Alphea and possibly their own club. I never really thought of her being a Winx member, especially because she’s younger and her powers are on a much lower level (no I don’t care if Earth fairies magic works differently than the Magical Dimension’s magic)
They could have EASILY made a Winx spin off series where Roxy was the protagonist and made a group of friends inside Alfea. Heck, they could introduce more stereotypes for girls to relate to. Where Musa is a tomboy, Roxy could be friends with a girl that’s a sports fanatic (more so than Aisha lol). And where Tecna is really nerdy, Roxy could have a friend that’s into comics, anime, etc. it would open up new doors both for new plots and more representation! Speaking of representation, I don’t know if this idea has been pitched before and I don’t know if it’s close minded or not. I thought it would be cool if Roxy were Native American coded or coded in any native culture that places a lot of value and emphasis on animals (such as having spirit animals). This could also work as Polynesian. But I feel like that may make the writers too tempted to draw in ocean/water themes. And we all know that’s already Aisha’s department. Idk, that was just an idea that came to mind when I saw people wanted more representation and we got basically Tecna 2.0.
...oh you're right. That's a great point. Because even though other characters could be coded as poc, I think since Roxy is from Earth, it could add another layer to her character if she was ACTUALLY native. But idk, I'm not native myself so I'm not sure how good the representation would be
@@chenillesagoe6348 It would’ve given the team both the freedom to let the original six members continue to grow up while not alienating the younger fanbase as they’d have their own stories to grow up with! And that would also mean that the original group wouldn’t need like 50 transformations. The newer gens of Winx Clubs would be given some of the later ones 🙌 But alas… hindsight is 20/20…
I SWEAR I've seen Native American Roxy edits somewhere - I wish I could find them so bad, but that'd be so cool! All the other Earth Fairies could be coded as natives to their domains too like how Diana already seems to be coded as a native Amazonian. If they really really wanted to, the Black Circle could've been an even more overt play on conquerors, since, y'know, they wanted to eradicate all magic on Earth so their own magic would reign unopposed. And yeah, the connections to animals would've wrote themselves. It would've been an interesting perspective for all of the Winx since none of them would be familiar with that kind of natural connection, except maybe Flora (or Bloom if you want to stretch how important her time on Pyros was with Maya was). PLUS, it could work with the other seasons themes! The environmental messaging of Seasons 5 and 7, and the myths of Season 6. The Earth myths could be pulled from Native ones that maybe Roxy would be familiar with and would be learning about in a whole new way because they turned out to be real magic phenomena or something!
I don't know for the others but I liked Roxy because she was human, she was relatable. Her annoyance towards the winx, the fact she was denying the magic and refused to leave all her normal life for an unknown magic school was also normal, Roxy was the mature character Bloom should have been instead of a naive girl following the first weird stranger she met. I also liked that in the cartoon ( I know there's Manuel in the comic) there's no freaking love drama around Roxy. It's refreshing compared to the winx. And I really liked the way she used her powers since the start, she did very well for beginnings. Also when you mentioned Griffin could have be a mentor for her, why not Roxy discovering she's more into witch magic and becoming a good witch, following Griffin's steps? Instead of having the bad ol' fairies= good, witches = mean & weak.
Oh man, I would've been fairly unhappy if *Roxy* was the one who went against the "witches bad and useless" stereotype. Y'know, since they already had that character ready to go from the start of the series and just decided not to make it work back then.
I actually enjoyed Blooms excitement. I never really understood the whole "Oh no I have magic powers, I don't want it"-Trope. Bloom was so much more relatable.
@@ginogiometti7422 Nah, normally her bf only appears in the comics. In the serie she barely appears herself, maybe we could see her chatting with a guy during a party but nothing more.
@@forevermore9431 Maybe for you, but the first normal reaction is searching for the prank cam when 6 strange women dressed like clowns come and tell you you're a fairy, then follow you. Or the police.
I have no clue why Rainbow hasn't done this. not just with Roxy/earth magic returning, but with other characters/underdeveloped WC worldbuilding. Like,I bet there would be at least some interest in a show about the Specialists or the witches. WC is a verse that has lots of untapped potential to expand on through spinoffs. Yet, when Rainbow is constantly milking the series, including a liveaction series no one asked for, doing animated spinoffs like this doesn't come to mind.WHY?!
To be honest yeah she does she needs her own show that is a spin-off series for Winx Club this would have been really good and see them five where they shoved her to the background where we could have actually known how her school life was at Althea instead of knowing nothing and just assuming it was basically mediocre
I always wished the Winx maybe went the same route as Power Rangers. Let the characters grow and become mentors, and then hand off the Winx title to the next generation. Like, season 7 could have been Roxy coming into her own as a leader, maybe recruiting some new fairies from the freshmen at Alfea. It keeps the cast young, and lets the older characters actually have plot development!
I agree !!! I would die for a idian and darkskin fairies. And i would also like adding krystal and nova, my fav side character. And in my deepest dream diaspro finaly having a redemption arc
I've always thought that was the best way they could've continued the show post S4. Have the OG Winx graduate and live their lives, while a new gen of Alfea students are focused on. They were already targeting the younger crowd who aren't likely to have watch the OG WC,so why not? probably because they couldn't let go of the WC characters popularity.
If you want that power rangers franchise dynamic but with magical girls, try PreCure. Power Rangers (Super Sentai) is made by the same company Toei and there are even a couple mini crossovers :D
I WANT THAT! I always thought they’d go down that route after season 4 with the winx heading back to Alfea to be teachers. I thought they would start mentoring the next generation.
There were already warning signs of her not being part of the Winx Club back in season 4: they didn't give her Sophix and Lovix or any of the three special Believix wings. They left her out of the jungle adventure into Diana's queendom. Even Stella made a point that they should have brought Roxy along. It's as if Rainbow was afraid that fans wouldn't like her if they fully intergrated her into the club like they did for Aisha in season 2. All in all, Roxy is my favorite Winx, and she truly deserves better. Season 5 would have been great for her with all the aquatic animals. Season 6, too, with there being so many mythical creatures. And we know season 7 was practically themed around her power.
She could've also been useful in season 8. To make the season more entertaining and less underwhelming, The Winx could've encountered different alien animals who are roaming around the cosmos, protecting the stars and Roxy could've been the one taking care of them each time as she's the fairy of fucking animals. And just like u mentioned earlier, Roxy could've been extremely useful in s5 as she could've used an army of aquatic animals against Tritannus, The Trix and even Politea just like Tritannus used against the winx even though his army wasn't even an army and it was rlly lame. Don't even get me started about s7 and how useful she could've been. In conclusion, Rainbow could've easily kept the Winx at alfea but as teachers just like at the beggining of s4, and Roxy could've been their student, as she also evolves as a fairy and develops more and more magical powers across as the show alongside the winx. Also, that way, we could've rlly gotten a solid explanation on the earth fairies, what transformations they can obtain and all. S4 had a lot of wasted potential and the show could've been even better if Roxy would've been included trough s5-8
The thing is, I wasn’t into her at first, for a couple of reasons. So I understand their concerns. But if you’re going to develop a character and include her so often, and make a storyline that involves her significantly in a Bloom position (but w/ a more interesting personality tbh), you can’t half ass it and not include her more. She was a cool character who has a lot going for her. I came to really like her, so they spent all that time developing someone and then discarded her. Just sucks.
@@ma.2089 exactly! That's probably why I kinda dislike season 4. Cuz they literally introduced another main character but this time Roxy was actually the main focus not Bloom and then they completely erased her after s4. It just doesn't make sense and it's bullshit cuz if u think about it, if Rainbow made that deal with Nickelodeon after season 2, then they would've probably erased Aisha too-
Same. Actually there is one episode where Roxy has the teleportation wings from Believix (the one with the train) but otherwise she doesn’t use/know about fairy dust to “brainwash” humans into believing in magic, she doesn’t use the wings and Bloom literally says in the Diana episode Roxy isn’t a Believix fairy and it was too dangerous for her to come (despite Aurora’s kingdom was arguably more dangerous, but whatever) But also, Roxy’s hair doesn’t change either, and imo her outfit is a little too simple and revealing to be Believix, its more Winx (base form) I never thought she was meant to be in the club after S4 and she’d make her own friends at Alphea and be a freshman fairy. But I don’t mind the idea of Roxy becoming a member AFTER earning her Enchantix powers (don’t really care about Charmix tbh) because I was royally p*ssed Roxy’s Enchantix NEVER appeared in the show. WTF?! And it was made even more insulting when she didn’t get Butterflix and then got tricked by the most annoying villain in the entire series to “shame on her for not listening to Bloom, despite Bloom needs to stop acting like she’s right about everything”
I didn’t even know this side of UA-cam existed. Your winx videos give me so much comfort, literally brings me back to my childhood. Maybe it’s time for a rewatch 🥹
I went through this after the full Enchantix version was released by Lucia Miccinilli xD Never a mistake to reconnect with positive things from our past :)
I think if they wanted to make the secret princess Roxy thing make more sense it's an easy fix, rather than "She didn't display her magical powers yet", the much more reasonable thing for a wise and powerful fairy queen to do is use her foresight and cast a spell that would hide Roxy's existence from the dark circle, that way when they came for the last fairy on earth they'd only find her.
I would like it if maybe Bloom's magical presence could've thrown them off course too, but that requires that they were actually aware of her existence at the time, and it probably requires some retcons.
@greenstarlover1 oooo I didn't even consider that! But that does bring up interesting questions I didn't think about before like, since the Winx are clearly older than Roxy that means Bloom would have been on earth the same time Morgana and Roxy were, and although we know she was the latest of bloomers (haha bloomer) her magic is still the most powerful in all the dimensions, you'd think that'd ping on the circle's radar even if they wouldn't be able to track it back to her. And that's not even bringing up Selena from the Mythix season who's retcon into Bloom's Gardenia backstory pokes so many holes in the logic of absolutely everything.
@@tomsparrow1823 if I were to rewrite this to make sense, I would make the black circle a constant threat to Bloom's childhood, which have mistaken her for the last earth fairy from the moment she was appeared on Earth in that fire. They would try to basically assassinate her throughout her entire life, under the guise of everyday accidents to avoid unwanted suspicion. Bloom would always manage to avoid them completely unaware some way or another through sheer luck (and plot armor). But this ironically enough gave her an unlucky reputation among her peers, and thus was prone to immense bullying, mainly from Mitzy. And then she met Stella and fucked off to Alfea for 3 years, disappearing off the circle's radar completely until the start of S4.
I always thought it would be interesting to have Roxy's color be yellow. Before all the color swaps, we had : Musa/red, Stella/orange, Aisha/green, Bloom/blue, Tecna/purple. So having Roxy being yellow would fulfill the rainbow spectrum.
In Season 9, I hope there's an episode dedicated to underprivileged fairies like Roxy, Miele, Mirta, etc. Maybe have them save Alphea while the Winx are on a mission or vacation.
@Rhett Mitchell Diaspro was banished but somehow became Eraklyon's liason, The Winx were turned back to students after graduation, and we were told Roxy was the last Earth fairy when magic was gone but then Selina came to be. My point is this franchise's cannon changes whenever. S9 will be a soft reboot so I definitely think it's possible for Miele's story to continue in Alphea.
Anyone else think Roxy would have made a good 1st member of a 2nd generation of the Winx Club? Even as a prodigy, her status as a protege of the older Winx makes it seem weird to me that she wouldn't have a small circle of friends at Alfea.
@Will N Yeah, but that's one example in an entire college of students. And even a former arrogant can still get enough character development to join the Club. I still think Diasporo should have gotten a redemption that allowed her to join the extended Winx (alongside Mirta, Lucy, Daphne & Selina).
@Will N You got all that from color palettes? Assuming you're right, *any* character could pay reference to a generic rat in that analogy. It wouldn't *have* to be Diasporo.
@Will N You mentioned other things, but didn't explain them. Without said explanation, they can hardly be compelling evidences to your point. But even if I granted your point, what does any of this have to do with whether a reformed Diasporo would make an appreciable addition to the extended Winx Club?
@Will N While true, this is fiction; and youth-fantasy, at that. Taking the story in *that* direction could potentially read as peddling the message of "girls who make poor decisions in boyfriends are *just* bad people".
An idea could’ve been she made a new group of friends and that group becomes a consistent support group to assist the Winx from season 5 onwards - perhaps she makes the new friends in season 5 and they were to assist the Winx in season 6 (maybe they switched with the trix during the episodes they searched for eldora) and Roxy discovers and blows the trix’s cover. Also the season 4 lore will always confuse me - does time work differently in the fairy prison? The earth fairies were trapped for “centuries” while Roxy aged 16 years in that same timeframe.
Winx's continuity has always been disjointed AF and it's only gotten worse especially with all the recons. For example: Domino was said to have fallen 100 years ago but Bloom is 16. Moreover, The Trix are triplet sisters the creator even said so himself. But a comment the Trix made in S3 contradicts this.
@@ceeford9919 yep In s1 We saw the scene where Daphne was escaping with bloom who was a baby, If that has happened 100 years ago then bloom should be 100 rn, unless time on earth works a lot differently then time in the magical universe, Maybe a LOT slower
I always wanted Roxy to join the winx club but even during world of winx, she was in the background and was in a few episodes. I wanted her to get her new powers but she never did.
IKR?? I personally am not a fan of WoW and actually really hated it at first because of how poorly written the story was. I was actually so happy to see Roxy in it and was praying she would FINALLY be relevant again and get a new power or something. But no, all she did was appear in a handful of episodes and was forbidden from transforming or using magic AGAIN. I’m completely willing to forgive the reboot of “Earthlings don’t know about fairies and magic” but come on! Let Roxy do something!!!
I'm srry but Galatea can rlly fuck off...I never rlly liked her. Especially in s8 when she was a bitch and literally let the Trix win like...sis the trix are the ones who almost burned u alive not to long ago and now ur happy that they win...she wasn't rlly interesting but Mirta definitely deserved better and we could've seen some sort of bond between her and Roxy as they both never rlly fit in with the places that they were born in, with Mirta being a witch only to turn into a fairy as she thought that she never belonged into a witch group and with Roxy being left out on Earth and a loner, only to find her inner self at Alfea and on Tir Na Nog with the other earth fairies and her mother
@@sophiamenezessilva5018 you have to admit that she was justified in hating bloom, she was assaulted and got no apology and then has to deal with "this girl is so much cuter with Sky UWU!" If I was Diaspro, I'd be pretty pissed off too cause you ain't gonna assault me and go on with life like it's golden
I wish season 5 - 8 was about Roxy and introduced a new group of fairies that could've form a group with her, since The Winx had graduated Alfea and are now adults. And The Winx could've make a cameo on season 6 for the 10th anniversary. Roxy deserved better.
S4: roxy was a main-side character while daphne was not even mentioned! S5: roxy was relevant in the first couple of episodes but daphne was a side character.. S6: roxy had barely one sub story while daphne was a main-side character.. S7: roxy was back as a side character and daphne disappeared again with having barely a fight.. S8: they both gone..
I will admit that with 4kids i appreciated what they tried to do with Tecna being british as while it didn't do much in terms of diversity, i sort of pictured that the fact she had a british accent in the 4kids dub meant that her realm may have creatures more well known from the mythologies and fairy tales from the UK. Yeah she comes from a world of technology but in the 4kids dub, and yes i have gone through every episode, tecna never brought up where she was from. But because of their designs and possible accents for tecna in the 4kids dub i thought their worlds would be inspired by the different myths and legends of different countries with some flare represented by the winx's respective elements. Domino being inspired by Irish mythologies, Solaria inspired by Italian or even greco-roman mythologies, Linphea inspired by possibly south american or central american myths, Zenith inspired by british or scottish mythologies, Melody inspired by Chinese mythologies, and Andros inspired by African mythologies. Yes i was a little 90's babu who was more fascinated by mythologies then how many members of the winx club were white or colored. Something that i personally feel more people should be doing, mostly because i was raised in a very artistic family. My mom being the biggest exception and always jealous of her siblings and parents for the stuff that they could draw or write. And as someone who was big into art himself i was the type of kid who wanted to learn about different cultures through their art and even try my hands at that medium if i had the time and materials. Like native american basket weaving or dream catcher making for example. I loved learning about the native americans and their different cultures as i was experiencing how to make my own basket and dream catchers with my own two hands. It made me appreciate their culture and even if what i made wasn't the best. Because it was theough an activity that i was and still am very passionate about. and yes i am Autistic and i have adhd and ocd on top of that Which is probably why naive little kid me was probably thinking the 4kids people made winx club and felt the same way.
You mentioning Roxy being sapphic makes me want a video of your head canons/ other people's headcanons of the Winx Club characters. That would be an awesome pride month vid! Glad you covered this. Roxy was my favorite as a child and I was upset when they demoted her to background appearances.
I mean Bloom *shouldn't* have Bloomix. The others got Bloomix by receiving a fraction of the dragon fire. Bloom has always had the dragon fire and gave some of it up, while getting nothing in return. Bloom should have got nothing, even getting weaker, while the other 5 got Bloomix.
If the show followed any decent logic, the Winx would actually become background post-season 4 after graduating Alfea, and Roxy would become the MC, maybe gathering her own club of fairies. A few fresh faces wouldn't hurt, but it seems like the producers are always deathly afraid of doing that.
I was annoyed when they retconned her out and basically did everything to erase her. I also didn't like that many made excuses that it was the age gap but other magical girl shows such as Sailor Moon had the sailor senshi being different ages but they we're still a unit, a team. Tokyo Mew Mew also had this as well. She could've been a great addition to the team. Also I always feel like she would have a stronger connection to Bloom, Flora, and Aisha. Musa would be secondary and Stella along with Tecna would be the one she'll have the most challenging to work up a friendship with.
Roxy's story in s4 was interesting. She goes through so mutch about knowing what she is. She wants to be a normal teenager, she is rejecting being a fairy but starting slowly to accept her powers and learn to control them, she learns truth about her mother she is growing as character she good support to winx. We know who to blame for left her behind. nickelodeon!
Having just come off the heels of the Bloomix season and Roxy being a fairy potentially of the same significance in status as Bloom if not in power, there's also something to be said for the wasted opportunity of having Butterflix be a power bestowed *by* Roxy as the fairy of animals and crown princess of Tir Nan Og, mirroring Bloom basically creating Bloomix which I personally thought was at least a cool concept. Idk, that's just my thoughts on the whole thing.
@@ma.2089yes since that would literally make no sense? Bloom has the power that created the magical dimension and has been a fairy for much longer than Roxy + Bloom is the protagonist, what would be the point of having a new fairy be as strong as her if not more? I agree that they should have given more importance to Roxy, but be objective 💀
Roxy isn’t forgotten entirely. Iginio said a few weeks ago during an interview or just answered a fans question regarding if she is a Winx member and if she’s gonna be in the reboot. To which he said to both questions “maybe”. He always wanted her as the 7th member but Nickelodeon had the idea of removing her. Edit: I take my words back. Iginio confirmed she won’t be in the reboot. So goodbye Roxy. Fly high 🫶🏻😭
Did you verify that? S7 wasnt written by nick and that solidified roxy not being a member with the way it treated her in the story. If thats what he really wanted he wouldn't have continued to portray it that way, including in s8.
I recently had a dream about watching Winx Season 9's first episode and Roxy was there! They were in a fairy form that looked like bloomix and Roxy was there too and she had Bloomix too! Then they mentioned something about Roxy finally graduating and having tried out for joining a specialist female squad of something like that, then the dream ended.
we could also talk about the case of Mirta who could have been the 6th Winx but her character was thrown away in season 2, I would have liked her to develop her friendship with Flora and it's a pity that in season 3 episode 11 she doesn't participate in the fight to help the Winx
Oh yeah, Mirta definitely had a larger role planned before Disney sued. Episode 3x11 deciding to ignore that she was at the same power level as half the Winx so she wouldn't get even one freakin' win was bad, but I found the start of Season 2 to be the biggest middle finger to her. Y'know, when they're going into a cave system riddled with dark magic and completely forget their witch friend who knows more about it than they do, won't have her magic hindered by it, and won't die without sunlight (seriously, why was Stella allowed to go? Mrs. Faragonda making Dumbledore look responsible out here)? Not to mention how stupid they were to make her a fairy, which felt like a complete betrayal of her characterization in S1 *and* saddled us with the nonsense that fairies can be whatever they want while witches have to be evil. And unlike Roxy and the pixies, she never got to be relevant again despite her being the ally who saved the Winx's butts more than once; the only episodes where she got any focus after Season 1 (of which there are 3[!]) made certain to keep her as far away from the actual story as they possibly could. So much potential, just flushed down the drain, like . . . why?
Unfortunately, the main reason why Mirta didn’t become a Winx was because Disney owned the rights to WITCH, who’s main character is Will, a red haired girl with powers, “fairy” wings and in a way is a witch (given the show’s name) Unfortunately Disney threatened to sue so Ignio was forced to back off and sadly made Mirta a casually appearing character instead. Its a similar issue to why Stella is called “fairy of the shining sun” in the Nick dub instead of sun AND MOON, apparently there were copyright infringements claiming Stella was too similar to Sailor Moon, a long blonde haired girl with magical powers and uses moon magic.
I always assumed that the purpose of Roxy was to usher in a new age group of freshmen fairies to follow up after the winx club aged out. Following her and her own friends as they experience their own struggles and hardship. But no. Instead they backtracked entiand made her another useless side character that does nothing for the plot.
I have read a fan fiction where Roxy gets so fed up with the treatment she gets and Lucy convinced her to become a witch. And Roxy is a very powerful witch. In one chapter Icy hates that a ex fairy is becoming more popular then her and she willingly teams up with Bloom to force Roxy back into being a fairy. But she is able to hold her own against them. The story was shamed spam by several writers from the show that It was removed and the writer went on to other shows and seven stories even have the Winx being defeated by the others. Even digimon had one
I still remember watching season 4 for the first time as a kid. Being a stupid child, I didn't even like Roxy at first cause she was "mean" to the Winx and didn't want to be a fairy. Then I saw the scene where she first transforms, and... I cried. My cat was old, deaf, slowly going blind _and_ he'd started having seizures. As young as I was, I could still recognise that he wouldn't be around much longer. And my friends at the time told me not to be so dramatic, it was just a pet, it wasn't like I was losing an actual family member (we weren't friends after that, believe me). But I'd literally grown up with that cat; just the thought of him being gone broke me. So hearing Roxy say what I desperately wanted to was so important to me. She became my favourite character in an instant. "Just a dog? _Just_ a dog?!" still makes me tear up to this day.
She really did deserve much better and it's a tragedy that they shafted her after season 4. I was soo excited to have a new addition to the club and what type of flair she would add to the group. I remember when I first remembered her going to alfea and being happy that she would get to go the school that the Winx attended and then she just disappeared, they, completely forgot she existed, no screen time, it's like season 4 never happened...it was nice they gave her some scenes in 6 but it wasn't nearly enough, she was being treated as an outsider, ugh. 7 rolled around and I was excited to see an animal focused season cause Roxy would finally shine, but it turned out to be a big disappointment and mediocre. 7 was terrible season, kalshara and profilius whatever I can't spell his name right were terrible antagonists, it's only when the Trix appeared and started tearing things up is when it got slightly more exciting, but anyways, it was such a disservice that the writers let her stone of memories get taken by that mediocre antagonist, she only got 1 adventure, and that was it! She she had gotten butterflix too as she was also involved in that fight, what the heck man?? Couldn't she get another memory stone or can't a stone teleport more than one person back in time, I think in the last fight Roxy asked if she could help while Bloom said not today or something, like she has to ask for permission?? Anyways I think I'm done haha I wanted to see what season 8 was like but got bored after 8 episodes...great discussion!
I really liked this one! When I rewrote Roxy for my AU, I pictured her as Philippine and AroAce. I changed her personality and made her a bit more chill but still sceptic and not into magic at the begining. I also made her a descendant of Morgana instead of her daughter to change the continuity problem because yeah that was my biggest issue aswell. I really don't understand why Rainbow introduced her and made so much noise around her if they were just going to throw her into the background after season 4. I remember in the comics she even was introduced as "Roxy, the 7th winx" it just makes 0 sense.
I could never get into the idea of changing a pre-existing character to make a show more diverse. It always felt like they couldn't be bothered to make an actual character and just expected minorities to be happy with the scraps of a pre-existing character that they just changed for no reason. I don't know if Roxy would work since her mom seems to be based on Aurthurian legend which would make her seem half-british. Unless everything about her was re-written, which would just be a different character entirely. And if she already had a boyfriend, why would she have a girlfriend unless she was bi or pan? Like Palladium has a girlfriend in the comic too. And only interacts with Avalon like twice. More representation would be neat, but I'd prefer nothing over pre-existing characters that are changed just to drum up controversy and weird attention.
My favorite line that almost made me cry is when she earned her believix and she said "just a dog JUST A DOG!!!!!!!" It made me cry bc ik how she felt she lost her best friend and she was so pissed and I love for it
YES! More love to Roxy! Plus it's messed up they spent a season revolved around her and the Earth Fairies only to simply act as if they don't exist anymore.
Roxy would’ve been such a good member of the Winx. I think Season 5 would’ve been interesting if they let her come on some of the missions and maybe for filler episodes make them train her and help her level up to at least enchantix.
18:40. I kinda like the idea of Roxy having Malaysian heritage, mainly because Malaysia is a really interesting country and they make some pretty entertaining cartoons/animated series. 19:46. F**KING THANK YOU!!! Aisha's blue Enchantix was iconic and I will NEVER forgive Rainbow for taking it away. That whole plothole with Roxy and Morgana could have been fixed with a few simple rewrites. Just have Morgana give birth to Roxy a few years before the Wizards came and started being dicks. Morgana knew the Earth Fairies were fighting a losing battle and fearing for her newborn/toddler daughter's safety sealed away Roxy's Magic deep within herself to the point where she was indistinguishable from a normal human and then performed a memory wipe of Roxy and Klaus so that they forget Morgana existed. By the time of Season 4 Morgana's seal on Roxy is weakening after a decade and Roxy's magic is showing to the point where the Winx and the Wizards can pick up on it.
She deserved to be Bloom's Akari (Aikatsu character that became successor of its first main protagonist İchigo). She got one of the most solid backstory in this show but got threw into background just due to having 7 members in the Winx would be too crowded. But why producers included her in the Wow along with main 6. Producers were literally gave Roxy's fans hope in season 7 and WoW, by gave her brief appearances.
And if Rainbow didn’t think we noticed… I’m counting Roxy turning Ms. Griffin back as nostalgia bait for Flora turning Mirta back to normal in season 1.
Rainbow didn't give Roxy a new civilian outfit. they didn't give her a new transformation. I hope in future season, they will make some episodes focused on Roxy.
Truthfully, I never could think of roxy as the final member of the winx club (it was aisha. we all know it. come on) and for a number of reasons too. firstly because she is introduced TOO late. unlike aisha, who in my opinion shows up at the perfect time with the perfect excuse. at the beginning of season 2, the girls have gone through something big enough to form a relatively strong bond but they've only known one another for about a year. they still have trouble working as a team. as we see with the convergence arc. aisha is therefore a perfect addition to the group. because she comes along with enough motivations for the girls to relate to, they are introduced to a new antagonist through her, and aisha has a well fleshed out personality that makes her intriguing to us and relatable to the other girls. ( side note: roxy isn't as fleshed out as aisha was as a character. if she doesn't want to leave her life on earth, maybe show us WHY she doesn't want to leave?) aisha's individual bonds with the girls was really important for their character growths. i noticed that the rest of the girls find a safe space in her to confine information about themselves that they can't to the others, like flora with her crush on helia, stella about her insecurities, musa about her relationship with her father and it feels very organic. I can't say the same about roxy. like you said, the only person who seems to care about her is bloom and that isn't totally a bad thing. in season 4, remember that the winx club has graduated college at this point. they've earned enchantix (some by literally dying), they're guardian fairies. their journey is mostly complete. and yet roxy hasn't even discovered her powers yet. how the hell are they going to relate to her? That's why I say that bloom being the only person to like her is not a bad thing at all. she sees herself in her. at first I thought that roxy was supposed to mirror blooms journey in season 1. yk last fairy remaining, survivor of a genocide and all that. I thought bloom was going to be a sort of mentor figure to her. like her daphne to roxy's bloom. keep in mind that daphne was only an important character in season 1 until this point. after that bloom takes on her own. It would have been interesting to see the changes in dynamic in this new season. also roxy's distaste of fairies and magic is an excellent change in character dynamics. it'd be great to see how bloom guides a fairy who has literally zero interest in magic in contrast to herself. then after season 4, the winx club's journeys would have been complete and it would have been a full circle moment with roxy going to alfea and forming her own group of friends. (ofc the og winx club would still be very well known there. they were legendary). We could see how the new generation of winx club deals with the expectations set by the former club. It opens doors for potential spinoffs and worldbuilding and lore ( i would love to have the og winx club making random special appearances as adults. like, the new winx club needs the help of the queen of solaria, or they meet up with the guardian fairy of nature or stuff like that) the story basically writes itself at this point. I guess this was too long but it feels good to get that all out of my head.
Also do they never give her a new casual outfit? 💀Not that there's anything wrong with her fit, but damn the creators really wanted her gone if they didn't even care to have more dolls made of her 😭
I swear in season 5 when Bloom asked Roxy to not help, causing her to not transform and help, really angered me cause I would have loved seeing her actually help and be an actual part of the team, Roxy you deserve better
Didn't expect a Redlettermedia reference here but bravo. Been enjoying your work for a long time now, even as someone who was never a big fan of the Winx Club. I still found it interesting enough to keep vaguely up with it, and it's nice to see someone talking about the parts of it that *were* interesting and what could've been done better with it.
I was almost sure musa, flora, and tecna werent royalty. There's princess Galatea, princess crystal, and king kryos. All of who are not related to the girls and we've been lead to believe each planet only has 1 monoarch (something thomas talked about before)
I personaly like Roxy for more personal reasons. I have the same name as her, I love animals and I want to help them and I'm a white girl who wanted to dye her hair pink/ purple for so many times. I didn't know her when I was little, I watched Winx when I was 17 or older, so I was so happy to find out that there is a character like her. As many people said in this comment section, I she deserve to have her own show.
First a "Diaspro Deserved Better", and now a "Roxy Deserved Better" ...I know they've never interacted in canon...but...just saying, Roxy and Diaspro, I could get behind it.
20:00 I've always felt that Roxy should've been yellow given Aisha was assigned green first & turquoise is always being debated on whether it belongs in the blue or green colour palette, so yellow would allow Roxy to have her own distinctive colour & not have her be mistaken for taking another Winx's signature colour. Plus, we'd have 7 colours for the Winx Rainbow 🌈: Bloom - Blue Roxy - Yellow Flora - Pink Stella - Orange Tecna - Purple Musa - Red Aisha - Green
I agree, I remember that once bloom said that even now she is a part of the Winx club and I was so glad! Thinking that she would help them in missions and be given screentime but later on after season 4 she was throwed out and neglected she was only given importance and screentime in season 4 after that it was like she dosen't exist Roxy was made like some poor useless side character she honestly deserves better she has so much determination and is really confident she was neglected and never payed attention to it's crazy how she never complained to the Winx about being neglected after they're the actual one who told her she's a part of the Winx well DUH...?! if she is a part OF THE WINX THEN GIVE HER THAT IMPORTANCE AND POSITION...?!?! why'd they make her so USELESS?! At this point, Roxy should make her own Winx Club with some other fairies like her and prove the Winx she's better off without them cuz they were the one who first made her a part of the Winx and now just exclude her from they're missions and make her seem so Useless
Season 5 should have been a story focused on handing the reins off to roxy and a new group, that way winx club could have done what rainbow wanted it to do afterwards - and probably gotten more money from older fans by continuing the winx's story in a separate spinoff
Rainbow really did her dirty, but I do believe probably the conflict between Nick and Rainbow also helped for her disappearing to the background. The girls didn't even get a Pixie to connect. I also got confused why her design wasn't magic Winx, and I don't recall if they explain that Earth Fairies have different forms from other “regular fairies“, it would have helped to explain her design. Not even Fate allowed her to exist, like at all, and her powers would have fitted in their magic system, imagine she is a Mind fairy who is able to communicate with Animals, but I'm glad Fate got cancelled to be honest, because for a series that said it was for older audiences it was extremely immature and edgy with no reason. Regardless, someone inside Rainbow thought Roxy was a bad idea, or even Nick thought that too, we sadly don't know the behind the scenes, even if they wanted to keep the Winx forever 16, Roxy would have fitted no problem. And it truly never occurred to me that Stella could be a white-Latina, and being a White-Latina myself, now I can see that YEAH she is a White-Latina for sure, including the way she acts and to be honest, even that she would be White-passing, White-Latino do kind of get ignored in media in general(because we are White-Passing, people usually don't believe that we are Latinos, and here in Latin-America, yeah we are White, and sadly Afro-Latino and Natives still are underprivileged and even underrepresented in media, now we are slowly having more Afro-Latino representation, at least here in Brazil where 55% of the population is of African descent), so I will adopt my fave Stella, princess of Solaria, Fairy of the Sun and Moon as a White-Latina coded, and Brandon also do look a lot many White-Latino guys by the way.
My issue with Roxy getting pushed to the side is, that each season has one set story to tell, and instead of letting the story flow from season to season, they just end after the season ends, and only are referenced in future seasons. What should’ve happened is, the first part of season 5 has the Winx girls helping Roxy harness her powers, in one on one sessions to develop the relationship Roxy has with each girl, and how they mentor her, she could see that Stella isn’t all about vanity and actually has a kind heart that’s a bit broken due to her parents divorce.
Roxy was my favorite character i know she wasn't the most relevant vharacter but i feel like she should be more important in season 7 plus she was relatable person in the show in my opinion people say season 4 was bad but i 100% disagree with that it had a great story
Idk why people demand representation from the Italian cartoon in the first place. 3 of 6 Winx members are white (I consider Stella white, this is the first time I've ever heard about Stella being Latina, gurl what, she's like quarter shade tanner than Bloom) so ONLY half of Winx (or 4/7 if we include Roxy) are white in ITALIAN CARTOON. This is not overrepresentation, this is underrepresentation wtf, it's not the US, and even in US majority, like 70%, is white so if anything we need one more white Winx. And yeah yeah Nickelodeon is American but, correct me if I am wrong, they had nothing to do with Winx Club until like season 5?
One thing I do want to point out with Roxy's sexual orientation is that there's an underlying issue with representation that even the LGBT community is guilty of which is bi-erasure. I wouldn't straight up write out her boyfriend, I would rather make her a bi-con.
I was one of the people who was rooting for Roxy to become a main character .... I always liked her and wanted more for her in the show ..... It's honestly a shame what they did to her basically fading her out and making her seem weaker or less of a fairy compared to the original Winx girls .....
Great video - but there is one point I am kinda of iffy on. I do not think Bloom is a Mary Sue in Season 4 - I think that started in Season 5 and only continued to get worse. Season 4 seemed like the last season where she felt like a leader of the group, not necessarily the most important character.
Roxy deserved do much better then what the show gave her her power are so unique especially to the winx and I would’ve loved to see her continue to as a member of the club like with harmonix and sirenix and so on like that would’ve been infinitely much better but instead we’re stuck with fan made stuff which is good but like not enough and as much as I love season 5 it really fumbled the bag with Roxy Also I would’ve liked if Roxy’s was a lot like vixen from dc comics who powers allow her to use animals powers flight as a bird strength from an elephant so on and so forth ya know and yes many thing growing up watching season 4 i always mixed up Roxy and tecna cuz of their hair color also also I said this on discord but I will say it again I’m pretty sure 99% of the audience that watched winx growing up is some shade of queer it’s just a fact of life
I could see Roxy having a witch girlfriend, honestly I generally think Roxy might get along better with witches than most fairys but that's just my headcanon
Roxy my beloved 💚💚💚 honestly she had so much wasted potential; there was so much that they could have done with her being the last fairy on Earth, and the Winx' protege at that.
Wow! What a great video. Roxy deserved better and there was no need to make her a princess. She could have been inducted as the guardian fairy of Earth in season 5, which may have explained her absense from the season. Or they could have based the guardianship, not on geography, but on powers, by making her the guardian fairy of animals.
It will never not piss me off how she was just thrown to the side after all the development she had in season 4 and then season 7 she gets done dirty by having her time shard stolen like wtf?
They even had that little moment back in season 5 where Bloom was still mourning over Daphne only for Roxy to say that Bloom had been a big sister to her.
I'm not sure if this answers everything retaining to Roxy's powers, but my personal theory about the whole "Roxy Believix thing" is that she earned her Magic Winx before getting Believix but suppressed her transformation out of denial. She then acquired an incomplete Believix (like Bloom's incomplete Enchantix) through believing in her own power and standing up to the black circle wizards to protect Artu. She then earned her Enchantix from sacrificing herself to save the Earth Fairies, completing her Believix. Note, this is just my opinion and pretty much something I'm rolling with for my future rewrite.
Poor Roxy, she had so much potential. At least we got to see her transformation sequence on screen. Unlike Sailor Saturn in the first Sailor Moon anime. (Thank you, Sailor Moon Crystal.)
At first I was annoyed with the introducing of Roxy in Season 4. However, after time, and rewatching S4, I grew fond of her: she is smart, independent, beautiful, courageous and willing to face her mistakes and learn and grow from them. Furthermore, I liked her point of view about magic, discovering her true origins, her long lost mother and her coping with all the immediate changes, which came to her as a Tower Moment, completely shaking her old life and world. I did like what she had some significance and importance in Season 7, but I agree what Thomas said about the matter. I have also seen the first drafts of Butterflix for the Winx Club game and Roxy was supposed to have also Butterflix. Honestly, the way Roxy was treated after Season 4, thanks to Nickelodeon, or Rainbow, or the both of the brands, has also put the franchise into peril. The logo of “Winx Club” ought to be “We Cannot Have Nice Things” from now on… Thank you for the wonderful video, lovely Thomas! 💖🦋💖
OKAY hear me out. Roxy is the fairy of animals. She could also become the animals. She would be the clubs shape-shifting fairy. Imagen the 1v1 with Duman or Kalshara.
I loved your videos but I feel like it’s become a sort of headcanon representation mania and I mean that respectfully. Roxy is my favourite alongside flora and that’s because of who they are in the show. Fans will want to change Roxy into making her darker and queer for headcanon while she looks nothing like Roxy. I’m honestly glad the show didn’t rewrite Roxy as a black queer girl. What’s next? Making her trans, mixed parented, adopted, needing glasses, immigrant and so on? Representation is great, but I hate character rewrites into things that they were not ment to be to begin with, it’s kind of disrespectful to the writers and original creators of the show who put effort and passion into their characters just for the fans to absolutely tear that down. Just to add, I AM NOT BOTHERED BY redesigns and rewrites when it is done in a believable and inspired way. For instance I’m a sucker for miraculous redesigns because fans update the characters suits into something that is still similar (for instance ladybug inspired for Marinette, different hairstyle but same black hair, different mask same colour, etc.) but more flattering and compliments what has been established in the show rather than completely redo her character. I am also not homophobic and racist because I know that’s the first thing people assume at any minor criticism regarding representation. Established fans will never want to see a Roxy that looks nothing like Roxy, sorry not sorry.
That basically text (that's not even subtext at that point like holyshit) about Myrta completely went over my head somehow. I mean to be fair I think when I was a kid watching winx I completely missed Myrta's like, entire arc, somehow? But still. Damn.
You know after recently learning some new info about Roxy. And coming back and rewatching this video it reminds me on how dirty she was done. For context: I learned that before the S7 script was finalized. There was a Nickelodeon game created where you can play as Roxy as a Butterflix fairy. Which might prove that Roxy was originally going to have butterflix but It had gotten scrapped for some nonsensical reason.
Can we take a moment to talk about how much of mary sue bloom starts to become during season 4. I also don’t like how she was trying way too hard to be Roxy’s mentor and giving her unsolicited advice…
Roxy being a princess has always bothered me. Even when I was a kid! It would have been much cooler if she at least earned that title through, oh, I don't know, saving all of the earth faries??? She could have gotten her powers by fluke of nature or her some magical will of the planet instead. Maybe Bloom and The Winx/Trix's presence in the previous season triggered something that caused Roxy to gain powers. Her becoming Morgana's successor would give an easy way for Rainbow to keep her on Earth. They could even leverage her powers being incomplete to prevent her leaving for extended periods of time.
Kinda saw the writing on the wall with her pretty early on. I figured they'd either push her really hard to justify adding her to the toy line up, or do very little with her once her story arc was done. Shame it was the latter, the former would have at least given them more leeway to actually do stuff with her.
EXACTLY
Flora and Roxy: Nature come to us
HOWL OF THE FOREST
Flora's the group mom while Roxy's the group baby. It's the logical conclusion for those two to be close. I also really like the idea of Roxy being a potty mouth and Flora trying to get her to swear less.
@@Autistic_Changeling YES OMG I LOVE THAT
Honestly if they never wanted to make Roxy more important character they would just make her stay on Earth, perhaps going to the school for Earth Fairies.
@@nicholasfarrell5981 Starting with S5 continuity didn't matter anyway, as it was straight up ignored. Got ya.
Not giving Roxy butterflix is like not giving Aisha sirenix, or Flora sophix.
Ironically both happened
If u watched Winx, u will see why, She didn't had any transformations either, just her base form...
@@davidmihai863 I have been a winx fan for ages, so yeah I do know
@@berryavatar im glad to hear that, but its impossible to give her the butterflix because She didn't had the Enchantix...
Find her own friends and her own footing in this new magical world _with Earth involved._
Season 4 had so much build up to a generational-type of story and it would've been perfect for the series too.
Winx next gen?
Honestly, I was doing a rewrite of the Winx and it starts off like this
But idk, I'm not native myself so I'm not sure how good the representation would be
Interesting idea of Roxy having her own group of friends...Winx Club 2.0
@@chenillesagoe6348 It would’ve given the team both the freedom to let the original six members continue to grow up while not alienating the younger fanbase as they’d have their own stories to grow up with! And that would also mean that the original group wouldn’t need like 50 transformations. The newer gens of Winx Clubs would be given some of the later ones 🙌
But alas… hindsight is 20/20…
Yes, I would have love for her to be Native American coded because spirit animals belong to the Natives' culture and her powers relate to that!
Are you sure she didn't? I actually think I remember something like her boyfriend and it wasn't comics for sure
Roxy needs her own show
That would be a perfect spin off idea not that trash that was World of winx 💀
@@akiinmoonlight79 hey it was alright! S8 is the real trash
@@akiinmoonlight79 only s8 comic is better than show
I always wished the Winx maybe went the same route as Power Rangers.
I thought they would start mentoring the next generation.
fr im tired of having bloom as the main character in the cast
It just doesn't make sense and it's bullshit cuz if u think about it, if Rainbow made that deal with Nickelodeon after season 2, then they would've probably erased Aisha too-
@@Idkacutename123 o
Same. Actually there is one episode where Roxy has the teleportation wings from Believix (the one with the train) but otherwise she doesn’t use/know about fairy dust to “brainwash” humans into believing in magic, she doesn’t use the wings and Bloom literally says in the Diana episode Roxy isn’t a Believix fairy and it was too dangerous for her to come (despite Aurora’s kingdom was arguably more dangerous, but whatever) But also, Roxy’s hair doesn’t change either, and imo her outfit is a little too simple and revealing to be Believix, its more Winx (base form)
I never thought she was meant to be in the club after S4 and she’d make her own friends at Alphea and be a freshman fairy.
Stella: Fairies are elegant, kind, graceful!
Also Stella after S4: *is the literal opposite and is drunk on fashion*
That does make more sense.
Ya
You're right! This show doesn't reaaaally care about character development and continuity though from Season 4/5 onwards :(
You forgot flora/ pink
In Season 9, I hope there's an episode dedicated to underprivileged fairies like Roxy, Miele, Mirta, etc. Maybe have them save Alphea while the Winx are on a mission or vacation.
Miele goes to the school in Lynphea though so idk how they’d get her to show up
@Rhett Mitchell Diaspro was banished but somehow became Eraklyon's liason, The Winx were turned back to students after graduation, and we were told Roxy was the last Earth fairy when magic was gone but then Selina came to be. My point is this franchise's cannon changes whenever. S9 will be a soft reboot so I definitely think it's possible for Miele's story to continue in Alphea.
God I wish
@@L0V3000 S9 is not a soft reboot. It's a full-on reboot, so it will retell the story of s1
Omg I miss Mirta sm
@Will N That seems grossly unfair to Diasporo; punishing her for her boyfriend's mistakes?
Ooh, kind of like the Young Six from Friendship is Magic!
@@elinasakura nice MLP reference - honestly didn’t initially think of that.
Somehow the creators repeated the same time mistake they made with bloom. Time never made sense in winx.

Roxy still doesn't earn another transformation like her friends sophix, lovix, harmonix ,sirenix bloomix , mythix butterflix , Tynix, dreamix , onyrix cosmix
She was done dirty just like Mirta, Galatea, Diaspro and Daphne 😔
THEY DESERVE BETTER R*INBOW !
I'm srry but Galatea can rlly fuck off...I never rlly liked her. Especially in s8 when she was a bitch and literally let the Trix win like...sis the trix are the ones who almost burned u alive not to long ago and now ur happy that they win...she wasn't rlly interesting but Mirta definitely deserved better and we could've seen some sort of bond between her and Roxy as they both never rlly fit in with the places that they were born in, with Mirta being a witch only to turn into a fairy as she thought that she never belonged into a witch group and with Roxy being left out on Earth and a loner, only to find her inner self at Alfea and on Tir Na Nog with the other earth fairies and her mother
is,nt diaspro a villian she tired (or nearly) killed bloom during season 6
yeah diaspro is such a brat
@@sophiamenezessilva5018 you have to admit that she was justified in hating bloom, she was assaulted and got no apology and then has to deal with "this girl is so much cuter with Sky UWU!"

I wish season 5 - 8 was about Roxy and introduced a new group of fairies that could've form a group with her,
since The Winx had graduated Alfea and are now adults.
Because it was theough an activity that i was and still am very passionate about. and yes i am Autistic and i have adhd and ocd on top of that
Which is probably why naive little kid me was probably thinking the 4kids people made winx club and felt the same way.
You mentioning Roxy being sapphic makes me want a video of your head canons/ other people's headcanons of the Winx Club characters. That would be an awesome pride month vid!
Glad you covered this. Roxy was my favorite as a child and I was upset when they demoted her to background appearances.
Not giving Roxy butterflix is like not giving Bloom bloomix.
@@tinfoilslacks3750she only got it cuz she felt weak after sharing it. if she didnt get it she would be stuck in sirenix for the rest of the season
If the show followed any decent logic, the Winx would actually become background post-season 4 after graduating Alfea, and Roxy would become the MC, maybe gathering her own club of fairies. A few fresh faces wouldn't hurt, but it seems like the producers are always deathly afraid of doing that.
This. Roxy should've been the main focus of S5 that showed her time at Alfea. Or at least give her, her own spin off series.
They didn’t want to make anyone comparable to Bloom to jeopardize her mc position
I sure hope that happens
Did you verify that? S7 wasnt written by nick and that solidified roxy not being a member with the way it treated her in the story. If thats what he really wanted he wouldn't have continued to portray it that way, including in s8.
Idk, is that reply from Iginio credible? There were some fans faking instagram messages from him, so I just want to be sure before I get my hopes up.
Honestly, anything said by Straffi should be taken with a grain of salt at this point, because the things this man says baffles me.
@@ahmadr2311 not entirely without Nick. It was co produced with them not produced by them. That’s why it still aired on Nick.
Do you have a link? That’s so cool AF
Link please?
"I refuse to accept this on the basis that it is trash" I will be using that later on in my life depending on the fandom
Me too
Aww, that's beautiful that you were able to connect with her character and feel seen that way. My sympathies for the passing of your cat. 💗
I guess it makes sense since they backtracked and pretended like the winx hadn’t graduated suddenly
Roxy really deserved so much better!!!!!
I love her, she is in my top 3 fav caracter from winx
Yes, Roxy deserved better ❤️. I love when you make videos like this. I still remember the “Diaspro deserved better” video from months ago.

There needs to be more story plots for her
Roxy would’ve been such a good member of the Winx.
( side note: roxy isn't as fleshed out as aisha was as a character. if she doesn't want to leave her life on earth, maybe show us WHY she doesn't want to leave?)
aisha's individual bonds with the girls was really important for their character growths. i noticed that the rest of the girls find a safe space in her to confine information about themselves that they can't to the others, like flora with her crush on helia, stella about her insecurities, musa about her relationship with her father and it feels very organic.
Roxy does deserve credit for helping out the Winx
Your Winx videos literally have a therapeutic and nostalgic vibe to them ~ i love them and u 😭❤
"Stella would still be white-passing, so white." Bruh, the erasure
My favorite background/neglected Winx club characters
1:KIKOOOO!!!🐰🐇💙🤍
2:Roxy🦋🐺🐱
3:Daphne🐟🔥💚🩵
4:Miele🌸🌹💐
5(don’t kill me):Diaspro💎❤️🖤
6: Princess Galeteya🎶💛🤍
7:princess Crystal❤️🩹🪻✨
8: Mirta🎃🧙♀️❤️
9: Knut🧌
First a "Diaspro Deserved Better", and now a "Roxy Deserved Better"
...I know they've never interacted in canon...but...just saying, Roxy and Diaspro, I could get behind it.
Plus, we'd have 7 colours for the Winx Rainbow 🌈:
Bloom - Blue
Roxy - Yellow
Flora - Pink
Stella - Orange
Tecna - Purple
Musa - Red
Aisha - Green
Daphne-cream
@@charmianernest1449we dont care Daphne
You're right she did deserved better. Good video.
It just doesn't make sense that Roxy didn't get to be one of the winx, because that would mean Bloom could always be in the middle
“Just let her be Aquaman”
But she IS Aquaman! The most irrelevant member of the group nobody (outside the fandom in Roxy’s case) cares to acknowledge
Roxy deserved do much better then what the show gave her her power are so unique especially to the winx and I would’ve loved to see her continue to as a member of the club like with harmonix and sirenix and so on like that would’ve been infinitely much better but instead we’re stuck with fan made stuff which is good but like not enough and as much as I love season 5 it really fumbled the bag with Roxy
Also I would’ve liked if Roxy’s was a lot like vixen from dc comics who powers allow her to use animals powers flight as a bird strength from an elephant so on and so forth ya know and yes many thing growing up watching season 4 i always mixed up Roxy and tecna cuz of their hair color also also I said this on discord but I will say it again I’m pretty sure 99% of the audience that watched winx growing up is some shade of queer it’s just a fact of life
5:06 I mean if you look at it from Roxy pov, it would make since she wouldn’t believe them in the whole fairy thing
I could see Roxy having a witch girlfriend, honestly I generally think Roxy might get along better with witches than most fairys but that's just my headcanon
THE FACT THAT ROXY DIDN'T AT LEAST GET BUTTERFLIX IS A CRIME😫✋
ELECTRIC CHAIR🔨
RIGHT
I'm Sure roxy will gain another transformation
Roxy my beloved 💚💚💚 honestly she had so much wasted potential; there was so much that they could have done with her being the last fairy on Earth, and the Winx' protege at that.
Wow! What a great video. Roxy deserved better and there was no need to make her a princess.
She could have been inducted as the guardian fairy of Earth in season 5, which may have explained her absense from the season. Or they could have based the guardianship, not on geography, but on powers, by making her the guardian fairy of animals.
winx season 4: 7 the perfect number
Season 5: correction 6 is okey
Kid me: Roxy should’ve taken over from Bloom as the focus if they want to refresh.
Adult me: Same.
It will never not piss me off how she was just thrown to the side after all the development she had in season 4 and then season 7 she gets done dirty by having her time shard stolen like wtf?
5:01 summed up the entire roxy arc
LMAO DHJDJDCH
I love the fact we love season 4 and maybe someway it's our favourite season, even if it has a lot of problems and we know it😂💖
Poor Roxy, she had so much potential.
The logo of “Winx Club” ought to be “We Cannot Have Nice Things” from now on…
Thank you for the wonderful video, lovely Thomas!
THIS
That basically text (that's not even subtext at that point like holyshit) about Myrta completely went over my head somehow. I mean to be fair I think when I was a kid watching winx I completely missed Myrta's like, entire arc, somehow? But still. Damn.
Indigo isn't purple. It's a dark blue purple. Aka Luna’s coat color from my little pony friendship is magic.
I agree Aisha's blue enchantix is wayyyyy better than green
The fact that Roxy only has butterflix in a freaking flash winx club game is sad
They could even leverage her powers being incomplete to prevent her leaving for extended periods of time.
i really like your editing style! very funny 😂💞
Kinda saw the writing on the wall with her pretty early on. I figured they'd either push her really hard to justify adding her to the toy line up, or do very little with her once her story arc was done. Shame it was the latter, the former would have at least given them more leeway to actually do stuff with her.
