My biggest problem with this season is how it’s not Aisha centered, which is a shame as the main villain is her cousin and that it’s literally an ocean themed season.
But nooo it has to be about Bloom instead. Plus they have to make her suffer like seeing that vision of Nabu and getting captured by Tritannus in the season finale.
They could have just made _Roxy_ the official owner/manager of Love & Pet Shop instead of pretending it doesn't exist anymore... It certainly would have been a better explanation for why she's not an active Winx in S5. "Sorry girls, I can't go with you on your mission. _Somebody_ needs to run the shop while you're gone!"
honestly just let her get her own spin off show where she talks about feeling abandoned and where she creates her own team that helps her through her abandonment issues. perhaps even become the new 9 nymphs of the magical universe and it could result in conflict within Roxy because she knows she'll have to leave Magix and return to earth but she now has a life in the magical universe where as on earth she had her dad and her pets but not a single friend to speak of. plus it could also make her feel immense guilt since she now feels like she's no better then the winx because she will be forced to leave one day and become queen. maybe she could even ponder on if she even wants to become queen or even a guardian fairy. maybe before realizing she had magic she wanted to become a vet or some kind of nurse and she was studying her ass off to get into medical school. just let her do things please, it writes its fucking self😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I think i heard that the new love and pet shop was now owned by these two kids after the winx in one of the comics i think. Thomas said something abt it.
@@friidu1666 Which is exactly what I'm griping about. The writers fumbled the bag by choosing to place Roxy at Alfea instead of the Love & Pet shop. Roxy could have blossomed into her role as The Fairy of Animals by taking over Love & Pet. Roxy wouldn't even need to give up her shot at a fairy education to do so, bc her mom (who literally gave up the throne to spend more time with her family) could have homeschooled her.
Season 5 would have totally worked if the writers focused on other Winx members. This season could have been dedicated to Aisha, considering that the main villain is literally her own cousin, and the season is aquatic themed. But no, the writers had to make this season about BLOOM and she got to defeat Tritannus, when that was supposed to be Aisha's moment. Seriously, Bloom's story arc is over, give the other Winx some spotlight please, instead of making Bloom an obnoxious Mary Sue😭
I swear season 5 (maaaybe season 4) onwards is the main reason people are so quick to jump on Bloom being a “Mary Sue”. It’s annoying😭 Back in the day she was the main character, yes, but the other girls had mostly if not basically equal amounts of importance. It was a group effort🥲
Never gonna not be annoyed over how the writing was right in their faces yet the writers didn't go for it. Like are you kidding me. Aisha even swears to cut Tritannus down with Neptune's sword if it ever comes down to it, and they don't even have her face off against Tritannus??? Really?????
Well There is Bloomix literally named after her She's the protagonist, there is no way around that To reiterate, The girl who gets the most of the Advertising for the Show when it aired on TV was Bloom herself she did most of the Eye catch thing on TV when the show had big special premiere days of episodes
I would have loved it if we got to see the Winx live their lives on Earth: Bloom - an artist/art teacher Stella - fashion designer Flora - works with Vanessa at the flower shop Musa - singer Tecna - the next Elon Musk only less evil Aisha - owns her own gym/sports bar
@@tanakatheforbidden Yes we do have his them as PopStars not living like actual people, it be awesome to see them all grown-up and a mature season for the older fans. Seasons 4-5 tried but failed. Here are some more good ideas to go with the original commenters, including the boys friends as well. Bloom - Could be a writer or an artist or an designer for something. She could possibly co-work with Sky as an Architecture Or Help Stella with her designs for her fashion show Stella - Could be a PopStar or an Actress or a Fashion designer (Or all 3) And Brendon could be a car machinic. Flora - Could work in Bloom's mum Shop and Study Herbial Medicine at a College or Something like that. Helia could work in an Animal Shelter as he was good with Amarok in S7 but not good with Plants in The Greenhouse Episode. Or be an Artist alongside Bloom. Musa - A Musician (Either playing a Instrument or a Singer or maybe both) Riven - I always hated him and I was happy in S6 when they broke up but then he returned in S8, if he has to be in then a Car Mechanic alongside Brandon. Tecna and Timmy (Can't have one with out the other) - What the last person said about Elon Musk or Maybe Bill Gates Type only not evil and she comes up with cool inventories to help Earth alongside Timmy. Aisha - Gym Insturctor (would be good for he how to learn to mentor others and not lose her Temper in frustrating situations) I don't really care about Nex than much so I don't know what he good at. Let's just put with Brandon and Riven as a Car Mechanic.
One thing I've never really understood about Winx discourse is the whole "Roxy should be a winx" thing. She's 16, the others are in their early 20s. Aisha's insertion worked because she was on the same level of experience and maturity as the others, but the sane would only work for Roxy if you accept the other winx being retconned to 16 too. Roxy deserved her own fairy team, with the winx occasionally dropping in as support/guidance
@@Arella17 oh absolutely. Tbh I think seasons 6-8 should have gone to a new younger winx team instead of the OG winx. Let them have stories about young adulthood and finding yourselves while Roxy & co face off against the new weaker villains on their way to enchantix
There could’ve been more potential and it would be more interesting to include Roxy in the Winx, she’s opposite to Bloom and she could’ve been a way for the Winx to realize more from a new member (especially Bloom since they bedazzled into a boring PERFECT type of character in season 4)
Yeah seasons 6-8 should have been about the students of alfea and Roxy making friends and following in the winxs footsteps to become guardian fairies and having the winx as their teachers and or to guide them. And the show could also occasionally focus on the winx as mentors and how their life and maturity has changed because of the new responsibilities they have as mentors to these younger fairies and Roxy.
i think harmonix should've been the main transformation and they only need sirenix to enter the infinite ocean just like mythix to enter the legendarium
True I remember being sad when they no longer transform to Harmonix as it has creative and brutal spells (yes Mystic Wrap & Diapason has been living in my mind rent free) like that would've been amazing aside from the "plot"
I never understood why Tritannus was hated. He didn't do anything up to this point and was called ugly and psycho as a child I never understood why he was terrible. Now with grown eyes, I can see that it was colorism.
@Sl1719 I hate Tritannus not because of his skin color, but because of the fact that he's the equivalence of Infinite (from the game Sonic Forces). Interesting concept, abominable execution.
Honestly it comes across like he was LEGITIMATELY being discriminated against because he’d mixed race. I kinda wish the show had been bold enough to actually go that direction.
i never got how people hated him, like he was just as 'hot' as his brother and his entire kingdom just trashed talked him when he literally did nothing to deserve it. Even his dad was like ' i should have known you'd do something like this to us' its giving major zuko vibes
isn't tressa the same shade in previous seasons? like, she's olive skinned and so is tritannus and neptune isn't too far from that shade? but the misogynistic rewrite is firee @unicorn of war
Tecna deleting the oil. I never thought of it in the physics kind of way but wow. Tecna's OP if she can delete anything from existence without consequence. Also begs the question: why didn't they have Tecna just delete the Legendarium?
i honestly wish they focused on layla this season. tritannus was literally her cousin n it would make total sense if she was the one to take him down, but no, bloom had to have the last defeat. it had potential, it really did.
@@borisspivak6998 I'm allowed to speak. So Boris. You can kindly not be an ass. I enjoy Winx club. Because unlike miraculous it knows what it's doing! Well most of time.
Ngl, i grew up with the nick winx, and watching your criticisms really upset me at first. But once i looked at it from the og audiences perspective, and saw the drop in quality from the og show to the nick version, I understood why ppl dislike it so much. They really gave a half effort instead of expanding and improving on their story. You're also really funny, and I really like your criticisms! I think you try to be objective as possible most of the time, and I really appreciate that! :)
Season 1-4 will always be superior. Season 5 had so many disappointment points, from the visuals to the plot, like: - They threw Roxy out of the door. They could have made her grow under the care and protection of Winx, showing her going to Alphea with the Winx. They just made Bloom say her to protect the people on the beach, not giving us at least a simple glance of Roxy in her Believix form even doing that simple task. The usage of Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) is overdose throughout the entire season. Every time they went to the infinite ocean, they remembered it with the terrible Computer Generated Imagery (GCI). It's even more frustrating the fact that in the early development progress, the Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) has closer resemblance to the characters.
@@eye-conicben1048 I agree with everything except the cgi. I think compared to the movies, the s5 cgi models are more proportionate and look properly 3d. I just think the noses were too similar, but i like the much more natural and rounded body parts, and how they have actually eyelashes now. However the 3d animation itself was cheap and poorly done. It was very off and their mouths barely synced up with the words. The sirenix transformation sequence in 3d however, looked really nice.
@@ahmadr2311 And they just decided to mess up some of the Winx's power-lines for some reason, like: "Aisha, Fairy of the Waves", instead of her being the fairy of the liquids and "Stella, fairy of the Shining Sun", instead of her being the fairy of the sun and the moon, like in the original italian dub before season 5 and cinelume dub and 4kids dub.
@@eye-conicben1048 Well, i think there was issue with how fairy of liquids translated from Italian. Fluids/liquids sounded off in english. If all the winx can be fairies of an element, why couldnt aisha be the fairy of water? Waves was really specific and sounded weird to me as a kid. Also, stella being the fairy of the moon was ignored for most of the show, so i understand why nick didnt really include, it and it also would have been repetitive. Fairy of light would have worked since she isnt a heat or fire fairy, but a light fairy, since the moon reflects light, and the sun emits its.
@@ahmadr2311 eyy someone else who doesn't absolutely hate the cgi! I'll admit, it isn't exactly Pixar, but I never thought it was as horrible as everyone makes it out to be
I think what people tend to not realize when it came to Keke Palmer as Aisha is that this was her first time doing voice over work. So while it’s okay to give more helpful criticism towards her acting, we shouldn’t really dismiss her work either.
The whole 'If the prince of Araklion (I hope I spelled that right) loses the pendant he'll never be happy with the girl he loves' bit to me seems a bit like those superstitious bad luck curses where if you believe it then it'll come true in a self-fulfilling prophecy. So Sky purposefully stayed away from Bloom thinking if they talked he would make their relationship worse but it was the opposite and the lack of communication is what made their relationship worse and Sky couldn't see that because of the whole losing the pendant bit. But hey that's just my opinion.
unpopular opinion but honestly i LOVE the art direction they went with in season 5 like i know many people were kinda dissapointed cuz they moved on from that y2k iconic style but this season i LOVE their outfits, 2d underwater, how colorful this season is but not in a cheap cartoon way but more in a unique cartoon way also those outfits are so personalized but still iconic and plot is GOOD like it's definitely good enough
I like season 5. I see the problems, but I’m not to bothered. This is an unpopular opinion, but I’m fine with it. So let the haters come at me! I’m not afraid of you!
"OIL DELETE" You're telling me Tecna has been the fairy of physics-warping destruction this entire time?? No wonder she never gets any focus, if she did they'd have to come to terms with her sheer cosmic power.
I think the wings being a physical form of matter and not just translucent holographs of light really explain a lot of things, maybe that's why the girls were able to swim underwater using Magic Winx only because their wings were still shorter/smaller to match their simple forms, therefor it was easy to use them since they were literally just on your back and weren't that big, therefor not that heavy to move, but believix's gigantic monster truck wings aren't small and therefor are harder to move underwater.
Season 5 was my favorite for a bit before I learned to appreciate the older seasons better. My favorite is season 1 now (or maybe mainly it's finally), but season 5 does have some good things about it. The Sirenix song is a part of the top 3 of my favorite transformation songs. I will forever be salty about how it was Bloom that went with Naraus (idk how to spell his ;-;) to finally defeat Tritanous and not Aisha. Like it was SO obvious to make her! Especially after everything Tritanous had done to her family. Season 3 and on, Bloom is less of the main character by herself but the entire Winx as the main characters. Especially with how they want to make them into this matching group in the newer seasons yet she still gets all the attention 😤
I wished magic compatibility was still a thing. Like shouldn’t aisha be extraordinarily more powerful underwater to the point she’s basically female Poseidon? And Stella’s and musa’s magic be more so problematic under water? Would also be cool for flora to learn more about nature underwater and finding out new spells or applications, she used to always be curious and learn more as she went on adventures and expeditions. But ofcourse all their personalities had a huge wipe, so disappointing.
If we HAD to have another form, why not have Sirenix be solely for underwater and Believix for on land but only on EARTH. Anywhere else in the magical dimension, I think having the Winx use ENCHANTIX would make sense. Just my two cents~
Plus, it would make more sense for Tritannus to go after Bloom because she has the DRAGON FLAME. I swear the writers just needed an excuse to shaft Aisha on a season that should have been about her.
This video came much earlier than I expected. I actually think the first 13 episodes of this season are decent. ALSO the dorm issue would have been solved if they showed us the girls decorating the place to make it clear that they are in the dormitories of the teachers' wing, not the students' wing. They could even put in a kitchen to make it more obvious.
Mutant Tritannus reminds me a bit Cédric from WITCH. And seriously I loved watching Darcy and Stormy's reactions to Icy's attitude, season 5 will remain one of my fave.
NGL it's fascinating hearing your commentary for Season 5 because aside from some questionable story and character decisions (Seriously Aisha should have been the focus of this season and Roxy the 7th Winx) this season isn't that bad. Can't wait to hear more about what inspired the changes you did for the Season 5 rewrite.
Season 5 is only "better than we remember" because we lumped it in with Seasons 6 and 7 and those were travesties. 😭 This season at least _tries_ to tell a semi-coherent story but the writing team seems to completely misunderstand the source material, so it was always doomed to fail in hindsight. Like this was already primed to be an Aisha-focused season with the sea-focused environmental message, but they could've easily made it joint-focused on Aisha _AND_ Flora. Their powers are so intrinsically tied to how fragile nature can be. Like, while Aisha is scrambling to save her family _AGAIN_ and trying to maintain the oceans, Flora could be scrambling just as hard; her powers are so tied to plantlife that if a substantial amount of it gets hurt then so does she. And if that stuff spreads to Linphea?? Guaranteed disaster because this magic pollution is a new threat. As for Season 6? It just acts like the only reason S5 flopped was because the babies in the audience didn't get how """complex""" the story was then, so they just have to keep throwing shit at the wall with no effort at all (something you already touched on in your last S6 review commentary). And the later seasons just work off of *SEASON 6* for whatever goddamn reason. Like, working off of Season 5 wouldn't have been a great move either, but S5 at least had a baseline that could be worked off of.
I agreeee season 6 was horrible I couldn’t finish it no matter how much i tried! And season 8 is just.its so bad we winx fans pretend it doesnt exist. In my opinion after season 3,season 7 was the only decent/watchable season. Season 1-3 are another level!! But on rewatches i now only watch season 1-3 and then season 7(it had good plot and the trix were an actual threat finally after season 3)
But yeah in my opinion season 5 wasnt good and the script quality went down. I dont why they changed their target age after season 3 i mean 3 seasons were successful with mature writing and good storyline so why did they have to degrade the script quality?
36:30 I love how Aisha is one of the more powerful Winx and yet, she insists on being a brawler. Like, why did she need to yeet the mutant like this?! Huh?! She didn't!! She did it cause she felt like!! Queen shit!!
I think that season 5 had so much potential, especially with Tritannus being the representation of pollution and how all the magical kingdoms need to take him seriously and act together
Season 5 was solid for a decent winx story but the problem is that they didn't allow the girls to grow and silently rebooted them back to 16 year old girls
This season should have been Aisha-centered, Roxy should have been inducted into the group, and it probably would have been simpler if Sky was sad about the pendant because it belonged to his parents. Maybe just say that his father gave it to his mother and they found happiness and he hoped it will happen for him and Bloom.
9:57 I don't know if they meant to do it on purpose but knowing how they killed off Nabu, didn't have Aisha/Layla be the center of this season, how little Aisha and Nabu are featured in the comics and how much Aisha and Flora suffer throughout...it's not looking good fam. Not accusing anyone of anything, but it looks bad.
this should have been the crossover season between Roxy and Aisha - since Tritanus is abusing earth's environment to conquer Andros, that should have been their season, with all the other major earth fairies as cameos showing him and the Trix what earth fairies are made of + Bloom could have gone through some kind of re-traumatisation, since this is earth, the planet she crew up on and the Trix as the descendants of the three ancestral witches are trying to destroy another home planet - this could be a lesson to humble Bloom, because she isn't earth's fairy, Roxy is - so while she would want to take centre stage, she and the other Winx could be mentors to Roxy while also helping Aisha and Tressa getting rid of Tritanus - you can still have the plot with the infinite ocean, yet so you could include more fairies and thus sell more merch* * I mean, we all know why Nick did all that harm to the show, to sell merch - doll in shiny dresses and with sparkly wings
So glad that you made that change because...why take away power from women? Like, this show is tailored towards female empowerment and they had already set up a Matriarchal aquatic society with females being the more prevalent sex as seen by the mostly trained female warriors to contrast with patriarchal kingdom of Andros that was somewhat more restrictive on the say of women given Aisha's arranged marriage and upbringing. So why then go back on that and erase any sense of the mermaids female agency in this season?
Kind of off-topic but anyone else think Daphne's sirenix transformation look derpy as hell? l can't help but think how derpy it looks her raising her hand, turning, and then just sliding off screen😅
11:34 favorite moment of this video but also S5, would have been great if it was more about Aisha and her grieving while dealing with her evil cousin. Imagine if she took more risks in battles by intentionally causing collateral damage which fits with her impulsive but also out spoken personality
Season 5 is one of the great season after Season 4 (Season 4 is still my most favorite because of Believix) but here's the issue of this season: 1. Why Roxy is not the 7th member of Winx?-I kind of disappointed that Rainbow did dirty for Roxy and I'm still mad after Roxy didn't give a chance to had new transformation like Harmonix, Sirenix, Bloomix etc. 2. Return previous forms as their wish-Just like Thomas's Rewrite S5 of Winx Club, Believix can use on Earth and Magix but they must to know the weakness of Believix that distance in Earth, their power will weakness including swimming underwater will weakness if swim far away till get Nature of Key (?). Echantix can return in Alfea, Harmonix can be used underwater and after getting Sirenix but I wish Sirenix could use in ocean 2D whenever on Earth or Andros. 3. Shine of Lovix and Crystal Harmonix in S5-For Christmas Episode, the Winx who got Lovix, they can use their Harmonix or Enchantix or Sirenix to be as Crystal forms. They'll protect from cold enviroments like Zenith or Alfea in winter etc. 4. After getting Sirenix, let's Believix can used again in underwater-That's my idea. I want Believix to be swim after getting Sirenix for unlocked their ability to get rid weakness of Believix Power in underwater. 5. PLEASE! NO SKYxBLOOM!-I like Thomas's rewrite about Sky's amnesia. That's all. 6. Diaspro's redemption-I don't understand why Diaspro was released and didn't redempt because of getting Sky back? WTF?! 7. Winx studies in Alfea but enter the college education-I don't like the idea that the Winx return as 16 like a soft reboot. Let's Winx study new magic in college education of Alfea. Maybe Faragonda will interest to fairy who want to learn more to become powerful. I think that's all I get the issue of S5.
Tricy could've been a cool way to show the power dynamic shift between the Trix and the villains they team up with. Instead of them serving him, he gets pulled along by Icy into this fight against the Winx, thus causing his downfall. Meanwhile the Trix laugh at him and get away, amassing more power and experience from it. It would increase their status as antagonist and raise their threat level, instead of just getting imprisoned and freed over and over again
As a someone who was introduced to the winx club series through season 5 back when I was 6 or 7, I must say it holds a special place in my heart. And it's not all that bad, especially if we consider that at this point the target audience of the series had shifted. Its only main problems (which as a kid I didn't noticd) are the fact that this was bloom-centric instead of Aisha-centric and that it is very formulatic (It is either tritannus wants more polution and attacks Earth and the winx have to fight him, or the winx try to find one of the gems in a world that tritannus conveniently attacks and bond to selkie. I would also mention tritannus going to each pillar to take a seal, but the writers play around this and have the winx destroy the seal of the final seal) Also I never cared about Roxy, and her absence never annoyed me (at least in season 5, because season 7 is something else). And the winx shouting their powers when they transform is iconic, and noone can change my mind. Other than this I am really excited to see how an og fan of the show views this season Ps. I always liked the sirenix outfits
I didn't expect you to come so fast with the new Winx Commentary series! You suffered a lot with Season 6 and we've really enjoyed your videos so we will enjoy those new one too! ^^ 12:30 Aquatix is a non-official name given by fans. This mermaid transformation has no name at all and it was featured into a Italian illustrated book named "Sirene - Le Winx Nell Mondo Sottomarino di Andros" then reused in another illustrated story called "Perle".
9:45 Woc here lol. My opinion, I never realized that tritanis was the darkest boy of the family until now. Honestly I don't mind this fact because Tresa is a bronzy girl who gets amazing screen time. If shows will have a dark skinned villain, they should have a dark skinned hero to balance it out. This is my opinion so don't take it too seriously lol.
Roxy should’ve NEVER come to alfea or the magic dimension, it was never what she wanted. The girl just got her mum back, she should’ve stayed on earth, and done her thing
Haven't watched this completely yet so maybe it will get mentioned, but I never understood why Roxy wasn't allowed to help the workers on that oil rig. I mean, wouldn't her powers be like one of the most useful? She could call on animals like dolphins to get the workers on the oil rig to safety, for example. Or, you know, get animals to search for any fallen workers kinda like Aisha went underwater to save one.
YAS! I can’t wait for this! As someone who grew up with the Nick Era, I did hold season 5 to some high regard, calling seasons 1-5 my Winx, my childhood! So thank you Thomas!
I loved the merpeople, but the season felt smaller in scale, and the series being Bloom-centric from seasons 1-3 made it feel weird when it no longer was about her. BTW, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the upcoming film and reboot series.
Man I really need to rewatch season 5, I forgot what happened to be honest lol I only remember a few things like aisha's character arc against her cousin, bloom having a dumb storyline between sky losing his memories (which had potential but is handled not as good), Stella's parents and there drama. But in a way it's interesting looking back how this season was, so thank you Thomas. #JusticeForRoxy
I love how every dub from season 5 to 8 say that stella is the fariy of the shining sun But in the german version she is still the fariy of the sun and MOON 🤣🤣
No he can be king if his dad is alive. His dad would have to abdicate his throne, meaning he can just step down or retire if he felt Sky was capable of being king or Sky could overthrow him but i dont see them doing that. Anyway sky would rather follow Bloom so i dont see his dad doing that.
When you were talking about enchantix and believix, I thought you were going to mention that scene from season 4's finale that had the winx going from believix to enchantix before the episode finished. Hmmmmn, I wonder if the season 5 writers watched that scene💀💀💀
16:22 Yeah, I feel like that would’ve been very interesting and could’ve let the older forms still have moments to shine. Season 8 tried this, but it’s season 8 so yeah that didn’t end well. Especially with how they butchered Enchantix
I agree with you about how I would had loved to see how they balanced out being guardian fairies while still following their dreams in season 5. I agree with others below how this season should had been more focused on Aisha. Even though growing up, I use to didn't like Roxy.. However, adult me appreciates her when I re-watched season 4 and she deserves to be around the girls instead of "only to be seen when convenient." Plus, I felt like the 3D versions for season 5 were the best in fluidity compared to the 1st, 2nd, and season 6 transformations.
5 is flawed but people would have been much more positive if it stuck the landing with it being primarily about Aisha. Instead it turns into the Bloom show when the season arc isn't even about her.
I discovered your channel in 2019. I have to admit that I am very lucky to be the one who may enjoy your kind of videos. The way you are sharing your opinions (especially about Winx) makes me re-think about my knowledge about the universe and development of the show. Thank you for putting so much work to this. much love ❤️❤️
Now I'm thinking about how it would have been interesting if Tritanus hadn't started as "evil" and the Trix used his growing addiction to magical pollution to corrupt him.
I’ll say this till the day I die winx season 5 is the last decent season of winx club it’s the last season you can watch without wanting to pull your hair out it’s truly underrated and after season 2 it’s probably my favorite season of winx club and in my opinion season 5 is wayyyy better than season 6 thru 8 also yes for the fairy tail content
9:50 I did not notice this, but it only makes the white washing in these latter seasons more egregious. And yes, I said seasons, as in plural. Aisha and Flora get lighter over seasons five, six, and seven. It's not as apparent as it is during season 8, because it can easily be blamed on the color scheme of their costumes (especially their fairy forms) but uh... Yikes!!
The puppets don't look like puppets, they often look like they are using Transform or Liquefy on Photoshop. Aishas realm, Aishas Element, Aishas cousin, so it's only natural BLOOM (the opposite element) is the star! /s I can see the pendant working if it's something he inherited from his parents, it was important for them getting together, and he becomes fixated on that it needs to important for him and HIS girlfriend getting together. In loosing it he gets scared that it's not going to work out and it either works out anyway or doesn't work out. Either way he learns that the pendant wasn't that important, not THE thing to make or break the relationship, merely an expression of his anxiety about them and their future.
18:35 Consequences. 25:54 How Aisha was able to go through the ocean? 26:24 So everyone can get transformed into a mutant by interacting with toxic oil? lol 26:38 Selkies are underwater Pixies just less annoying. 28:13 And they said no one can use magic in the prison.
7:55 Tecna with her old hairstyle - Season 5 was probably the last good season after season 1-4 [besides world of winx] . Sure, it was a little mess up like the fact Bloom defeated Layla's/Aisha's cousin or that Roxy became a ghost for this season but still, good season for me- [Also the sirenix and harmonix designs are sooo nice]
i know i am late for the discourse but it would be also interesting that this is the last season we saw the winx as they go in their own journeys. as the introduction of Roxy last season it would also be interesting we get a new cast of winx and Roxy as the leader and maybe the older winx can be their mentors. then the following seasons we follow their story like Selina could be Roxy's childhood friend and season 7 the Butterflix could Roxy and the gang level up in their wings.
Glad u're doing season 5! I think this is gonna be really interesting. I would really like to see you do season 2 as well since it's my favourite! I'd like your reactions episode by episode.
My biggest problem with this season is how it’s not Aisha centered, which is a shame as the main villain is her cousin and that it’s literally an ocean themed season.
FACTS Aisha deserves better

Creo que Aisha lo jode mucho
yeah, he is literally her cousin why was it not bloom who tritanus took for sirenia and aisha had to save the day
They could have just made _Roxy_ the official owner/manager of Love & Pet Shop instead of pretending it doesn't exist anymore... It certainly would have been a better explanation for why she's not an active Winx in S5. "Sorry girls, I can't go with you on your mission. _Somebody_ needs to run the shop while you're gone!"
Ikr i hate how they try so hard to make roxy a background and only brings her back when its good for the plot

plus it could also make her feel immense guilt since she now feels like she's no better then the winx because she will be forced to leave one day and become queen. maybe she could even ponder on if she even wants to become queen or even a guardian fairy. maybe before realizing she had magic she wanted to become a vet or some kind of nurse and she was studying her ass off to get into medical school.
just let her do things please, it writes its fucking self😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I think i heard that the new love and pet shop was now owned by these two kids after the winx in one of the comics i think. Thomas said something abt it.
roxy got into a alfea in season 5 (in ep 1 she tells bloom about it) (sorry about my english, not my first language)
It’s annoying😭
Back in the day she was the main character, yes, but the other girls had mostly if not basically equal amounts of importance. It was a group effort🥲
The series is literally called ‘Winx Club’ too not ‘Bloom Club’ -_-
Never gonna not be annoyed over how the writing was right in their faces yet the writers didn't go for it. Like are you kidding me. Aisha even swears to cut Tritannus down with Neptune's sword if it ever comes down to it, and they don't even have her face off against Tritannus??? Really?????
@@thapelosishi she is not a Mary sue
Well
There is Bloomix literally named after her

I would have loved it if we got to see the Winx live their lives on Earth:
Bloom - an artist/art teacher
Stella - fashion designer
Flora - works with Vanessa at the flower shop
Musa - singer
Tecna - the next Elon Musk only less evil
Aisha - owns her own gym/sports bar
OMG that would have been so good and maybe Roxy and some introduced charters could have been the new winx
The winx Idea isn't mine credits to the actual person who said this but I there name 😅
Elon Musk is not a technology genius lol he is fucking economic degree businessman.
but dont we have world of winx!?
@@tanakatheforbidden Yes we do have his them as PopStars not living like actual people, it be awesome to see them all grown-up and a mature season for the older fans. Seasons 4-5 tried but failed.
Here are some more good ideas to go with the original commenters, including the boys friends as well.
Bloom - Could be a writer or an artist or an designer for something.
She could possibly co-work with Sky as an Architecture
Or Help Stella with her designs for her fashion show
Stella - Could be a PopStar or an Actress or a Fashion designer (Or all 3)
And Brendon could be a car machinic.
Musa - A Musician (Either playing a Instrument or a Singer or maybe both)
Riven - I always hated him and I was happy in S6 when they broke up but then he returned in S8, if he has to be in then a Car Mechanic alongside Brandon.
Tecna and Timmy (Can't have one with out the other) - What the last person said about Elon Musk or Maybe Bill Gates Type only not evil and she comes up with cool inventories to help Earth alongside Timmy.
Aisha - Gym Insturctor (would be good for he how to learn to mentor others and not lose her Temper in frustrating situations)
I don't really care about Nex than much so I don't know what he good at. Let's just put with Brandon and Riven as a Car Mechanic.
Season 5 actually had the potential to be such a good season but Nick ruined the storyline 😭

Este fue el último equilibrio
Season 5 original was to be 2010 en Roxy was a winx
@@adnanjusufovic5177 Nick writers were the ones who wrote these eps tho.
Roxy at the very least deserved some kind of relevance in the season that was all about animals.
Agreed
i think harmonix should've been the main transformation and they only need sirenix to enter the infinite ocean just like mythix to enter the legendarium

True I remember being sad when they no longer transform to Harmonix as it has creative and brutal spells (yes Mystic Wrap & Diapason has been living in my mind rent free) like that would've been amazing aside from the "plot"
But they accidentally said at first that "they need Sirenix to defeat Tritannus, Harmonix is just a tool" so they can't fix it in late episodes 💀

I never understood why Tritannus was hated. He didn't do anything up to this point and was called ugly and psycho as a child I never understood why he was terrible. Now with grown eyes, I can see that it was colorism.
Imagine dealing with all that just cuz ur skin and hair are 2% darker than ur twin brothers 💀

Season 5 had so many disappointment points, from the visuals to the plot, like:
- They threw Roxy out of the door.
@@ahmadr2311 And they just decided to mess up some of the Winx's power-lines for some reason, like:
"Aisha, Fairy of the Waves", instead of her being the fairy of the liquids and
"Stella, fairy of the Shining Sun", instead of her being the fairy of the sun and the moon, like in the original italian dub before season 5 and cinelume dub and 4kids dub.
I'll admit, it isn't exactly Pixar, but I never thought it was as horrible as everyone makes it out to be
I think that this season overall is pretty decent despite its issues, Aisha kicking Tritanus still makes me laugh to this day!
Aisha is always the one to slay a wannabe baddie per day 💅✨️
“I will destroy you!”
Eraklyon* I think

Agreed
Or they have specific Enchantix wings for underwater??
Aisha should have been the center of attention.. but Nickelodeon ruined it by making bloom take down tritannus in the final battle..
Plus, it would make more sense for Tritannus to go after Bloom because she has the DRAGON FLAME. I swear the writers just needed an excuse to shaft Aisha on a season that should have been about her.
Great potential for this season, especially where it left off in terms of Nabu’s passing but it was not able to make use of its potential
And seriously I loved watching Darcy and Stormy's reactions to Icy's attitude, season 5 will remain one of my fave.
going back to season 5 after suffering through season 6 feels like home tbh, the characters actually feel like they have somewhat of a personality
This season at least _tries_ to tell a semi-coherent story but the writing team seems to completely misunderstand the source material, so it was always doomed to fail in hindsight.
The sessions between kings felt useless though
Season 5 is actually my favorite season- I liked the new style, the colors, the outfits, and the ocean theme
9:17 That Kick its ICONIC
4kids tecna has a spell she used in s1 called digital deletion so yes, i guess s5 tecna can delete anything she wants.
Not accusing anyone of anything, but it looks bad.
this should have been the crossover season between Roxy and Aisha - since Tritanus is abusing earth's environment to conquer Andros, that should have been their season, with all the other major earth fairies as cameos showing him and the Trix what earth fairies are made of
+ Bloom could have gone through some kind of re-traumatisation, since this is earth, the planet she crew up on and the Trix as the descendants of the three ancestral witches are trying to destroy another home planet - this could be a lesson to humble Bloom, because she isn't earth's fairy, Roxy is - so while she would want to take centre stage, she and the other Winx could be mentors to Roxy while also helping Aisha and Tressa getting rid of Tritanus
- you can still have the plot with the infinite ocean, yet so you could include more fairies and thus sell more merch*
* I mean, we all know why Nick did all that harm to the show, to sell merch - doll in shiny dresses and with sparkly wings
I never even noticed that they accidentally gave Tecna her season 1-3 hairstyle. Oh Winx animation errors, you never fail to amuse me
So glad that you made that change because...why take away power from women?
What were they going for?
11:34 favorite moment of this video but also S5, would have been great if it was more about Aisha and her grieving while dealing with her evil cousin. Imagine if she took more risks in battles by intentionally causing collateral damage which fits with her impulsive but also out spoken personality
Season 5 is one of the great season after Season 4 (Season 4 is still my most favorite because of Believix) but here's the issue of this season:
I would also mention tritannus going to each pillar to take a seal, but the writers play around this and have the winx destroy the seal of the final seal)
Also I never cared about Roxy, and her absence never annoyed me (at least in season 5, because season 7 is something else).
And the winx shouting their powers when they transform is iconic, and noone can change my mind.
Other than this I am really excited to see how an og fan of the show views this season
Ps. I always liked the sirenix outfits
I didn't expect you to come so fast with the new Winx Commentary series! You suffered a lot with Season 6 and we've really enjoyed your videos so we will enjoy those new one too! ^^
12:30 Aquatix is a non-official name given by fans.
The fact that season isn't focused more around Aisha since it's water themed and the main Villain is her cousin...Such a disappointment.
Sometimes, I'd like to tell myself that World of Winx is a proper continuation from Season 4 and be happy with it🥴

No he can be king if his dad is alive. His dad would have to abdicate his throne, meaning he can just step down or retire if he felt Sky was capable of being king or Sky could overthrow him but i dont see them doing that. Anyway sky would rather follow Bloom so i dont see his dad doing that.
aisha's heels gave tritannus more damage than believix lmfao
When you were talking about enchantix and believix, I thought you were going to mention that scene from season 4's finale that had the winx going from believix to enchantix before the episode finished.

16:22 Yeah, I feel like that would’ve been very interesting and could’ve let the older forms still have moments to shine. Season 8 tried this, but it’s season 8 so yeah that didn’t end well. Especially with how they butchered Enchantix
I just finished your Season 5 rewrite before starting with the commentary now and it just hurts twice as much now.. There was so much potential
Plot twist: Icy was giving in to peer pressure when she said Valtor was ugly. She's actually more like Stella in her love for big buff monsters.

I agree with you about how I would had loved to see how they balanced out being guardian fairies while still following their dreams in season 5. I agree with others below how this season should had been more focused on Aisha. Even though growing up, I use to didn't like Roxy.. However, adult me appreciates her when I re-watched season 4 and she deserves to be around the girls instead of "only to be seen when convenient." have they been into darkar though? I thought they just liked that they can get powers from him😲
I discovered your channel in 2019. I have to admit that I am very lucky to be the one who may enjoy your kind of videos. The way you are sharing your opinions (especially about Winx) makes me re-think about my knowledge about the universe and development of the show. Thank you for putting so much work to this. much love ❤️❤️
I would love to hear more of your in depth thoughts about Tangled: the series. I love that show so much!!
You know what would’ve been great for sirenix if the winx would’ve actually into mermaid with fins and everything.
Maybe Tecnas "Oil delete" spell turns the oil into magic energy?
Season 6 Commentary Be Like:
"The Rides Gonna Be Bumpy But Extremely Fast"
Now I'm thinking about how it would have been interesting if Tritanus hadn't started as "evil" and the Trix used his growing addiction to magical pollution to corrupt him.
6:55 LOL I dint notice that until Now
26/12/24
I’ll say this till the day I die winx season 5 is the last decent season of winx club it’s the last season you can watch without wanting to pull your hair out it’s truly underrated and after season 2 it’s probably my favorite season of winx club and in my opinion season 5 is wayyyy better than season 6 thru 8 also yes for the fairy tail content
17:52 I can see Tecna going full Teru Mikami and just "DELETE DETELE DELETE"
9:50 I did not notice this, but it only makes the white washing in these latter seasons more egregious. And yes, I said seasons, as in plural. Aisha and Flora get lighter over seasons five, six, and seven. It's not as apparent as it is during season 8, because it can easily be blamed on the color scheme of their costumes (especially their fairy forms) but uh...
Yikes!!
"[Darkar] probably smelled like pennies-"
Okay that took me out 💀
The puppets don't look like puppets, they often look like they are using Transform or Liquefy on Photoshop.
Aishas realm, Aishas Element, Aishas cousin, so it's only natural BLOOM (the opposite element) is the star! /s
I can see the pendant working if it's something he inherited from his parents, it was important for them getting together, and he becomes fixated on that it needs to important for him and HIS girlfriend getting together.
26:24 So everyone can get transformed into a mutant by interacting with toxic oil? lol
26:38 Selkies are underwater Pixies just less annoying.
28:13 And they said no one can use magic in the prison.
“Because WINX is what pays my bills…”
ICONIC. Lmao
Believix song never gets old though.
The plot & the mystery of the ancient Sirenix form had some amazing potential
Her: The Last Decent Season
Me: My last Season I got dubbed
7:55 Tecna with her old hairstyle -
Season 5 was probably the last good season after season 1-4 [besides world of winx] . Sure, it was a little mess up like the fact Bloom defeated Layla's/Aisha's cousin or that Roxy became a ghost for this season but still, good season for me- [Also the sirenix and harmonix designs are sooo nice]
Wait a minute...
Bloom's s1 colour scheme: light blue, yellow, red hair
Earth selkie: light blue, yellow, red veil
i know i am late for the discourse but it would be also interesting that this is the last season we saw the winx as they go in their own journeys. as the introduction of Roxy last season it would also be interesting we get a new cast of winx and Roxy as the leader and maybe the older winx can be their mentors. then the following seasons we follow their story like Selina could be Roxy's childhood friend and season 7 the Butterflix could Roxy and the gang level up in their wings.
Sky could have just given the Pendant to Klaus and say "ey bro hold this for me I gotta help save the world" and he wouldnt have lost it
Glad u're doing season 5! I think this is gonna be really interesting. I would really like to see you do season 2 as well since it's my favourite! I'd like your reactions episode by episode.
That’s probably why magic Winx was useful underwater. The wings are smaller
Sky's new hairstyle is great, the trash was his first hairstyle
If the writing had been more like your rewrite from a couple years ago, I think it probably would've been my favorite season
