spraying isopropanol alcohol on to really hot board and electronic parts will cool them rapidly causing thermal shock and tiny fractures can appear in resisters capacitors and ICs also it can cause a board to delaminate internally, you should always let the board cool down naturally before applying IPA.
Awesome video, I replaced the port that had twisted and broken pins and still didn't power up, then I tested the same points you did on the charging IC and low and behold, same shorts. M92T36 now on order, fingers crossed that's all that's needed!
on 2:23 the first cap is shorted the rest are good so what will that say need M9 chip as well or just the cap? please guide me, 2nd Question, how can we see that cpu is dead? Thank you waiting for your reply.
your new systwm seems to be working sweetly..does ur camera have a glare on/off setting? more often than not the light is pretty bright turn the glare off be much easier on the eyes for some of us watching..keep up the good work
You don't have to do that using this method, the pads need to make a contact with the pads on the chip, and if you use the nudge test and it springs back it means surface tension has done its' job, which means the chip has been installed successfully
I have a 3 to 4 nintendo switch lite and 1 original nintendo switch to fix for profit but they not showing video display one 1 of them I can hear it when I touch the screen but no video are all the video chip the same for all nintendo cosoles?
Hello. I was thinking if you can try to fix older consoles next time? Like I have troubles zo fix my PS2 slim, and they are notorious that the laser module (possibly an SMD fuse) breaks easily.
I didn't play my switch for months and then it wouldn't charge. I have one of those readouts and it was stuck at .46 slow charging with no display. I thought the IC needed replaced but all I had to do was hold the power button for 15 seconds to let it reset and then eventually the power meter came up, thank goodness
What up. Love the content. I got a switch lite that intermittently will not charge or trun on so today I said wtf, I opened it up to look at the battery didn't see anything sticking out so I unplugged the battery waited 15 minutes plug in and it started working. My question is do you think I should just go ahead and replace the battery or do you think there's something else going on?
Morning fella, how do you connect your amp meter to charger please. I have the same amp meter and official nintendo charger but can not get 15v on any switch and 2 are brand new kids Christmas this year. I think it might be the usb c coupler I'm using. Nice work on the m92 from underneath, wish I had seen it 24 hrs earlier tho. I have 10 plus footage of my disaster, I wiped everything on the outer edge next to m92. Took me all day to correct and get working. Unpatched switch tho for 42.50 so can't complain.
Hey mate. Great job, I've been there myself where I've really messed up the components around M92. Happens to the best of us lol. In terms of the meter though, if you have the same one as me make sure you're using it the right way round, I personally was connecting it backwards (input to the device, output to the brick 😂) which messes things up. But also those couplers do work, but only certain brands. Here's a link to the ones I used to have: amzn.to/3NqljX4 Personally though, I'd recommend just getting yourself a thunderbolt extension cable, which is what I use now: amzn.to/3ynvZlh Also, I recommend using either the original switch power brick or something that supports USB-C PD (power delivery). Personally I use a uGreen 65w socket which works really well: amzn.to/3HUk2GF On top of that though, only certain ports on that socket work with the dock, I think it's port 2 because that can provide more current, but the plug along with the thunderbolt extension is what I'm personally using right now and it works absolutely perfectly
My brother's nintendo switch won't charge but it heat up when I put it to charge is not the video chip cause it displays the battery when connected can it be the charging chip that's what I call it lol?
My oled was charging perfectly fine yesterday and then I put it on charge again last night and it stopped charging, but the charger is fine cos it works with my lite. Any ideas
Why is it disappointing to be working on a Nintendo switch? I like working on them and watching repair videos about them too. I have a practically brand new switch I bought off ebay and any time a cartridge is inserted I get the error 2002-2634. Everything I look up points to it being previously hacked and possible burned fuses? I tried looking for possible fuses, but I only know of the charge port fuse. Tried changing out the game card reader and still the same issue. That is the type of switch stuff I would love to see you fix. Oddball stuff outside of P13USB, M92T36 etc. Thanks a lot for all of your videos, man! I've learned a lot
I worked on several, and I have the hunch they're disappointing because of how cheaply made they're. PCB board and everything. 8 times out 10 once they break they're not worth fixing.
Mate, I LOVE the on screen readings display. Very nice upgrade to the channel.
Top class soldering and reflow work again. Brilliant

nice job phill as always
When you reflow the charger ic should you push down a little so the ground plane under the chip and mobo is properly in contact

Will take hours tho mine is taking over 10 hours to charge cuz I haven’t played it since April- may

Hi , doing ps5 hdmi port and the small cap close to the hdmi pins is missing.
What's it called and where can I buy 1 ?
Thanks
It's a 0.1uF MLCC 0201 6v but it's honestly not needed. The console will work fine without it

Top man this guy
What if the switch is 5v and 0a? will it be the m92 chip too?
Very likely either M92 or a bad charging port. Normally in that case I change both to be safe
@@TheCod3r Thank you, Because Im having second thought of replacing my m92 chip good thing you confirm it.

My guy how much to fix a switch just like that one ?
Typically around £50 mate depending on the cause of the fault
