    I think £40 on Ebay for a faulty Nintendo Switch isn't that bad, especially if we can fix it to make some profit! The charging port on this Switch was ruined by the previous owner, and today hopefully we can get it back up and running 😁

    Good job. I'm my experience when you have the board held flat, you don't need to pull the port off with tweezers while using hot air. Gravity will take over and the port will just fall off. Helps minimize the risk of pulling a pad of 2 off.

    Nice job. I've been gathering cheap items from thrift stores (on dollar day) to practice removing/replacing ports & chips on, before attempting it on anything important.

    Nice job! I've always wanted to learn how to solder.
    Where did you learn? Did you take a class or read a book on it?

    • @milkyjoe1881
      @milkyjoe1881 2 роки тому

      There are plenty of youtube videos that can teach you how to solder. You can buy a soldering iron for fairly cheap but I would also get and extractor fan and some worksafe glasses. Solder fumes are nothing to scoff at. There are also many different learning kits for soldering that you can buy which help a lot when starting out

    Hey Joey, just discovered your channel and well impressed by the invaluable content you provide for us noobs. I’m building up some supplies to get into some repairs myself and I find myself struggling to decide on which flux to go for. Can you recommend some?

    • @JoeyDoesTech
      @JoeyDoesTech  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Stephen :) Thankyou for the kind words. The flux I use is Kingbo RMA-218. I haven't actually used any other flux except for this one funnily enough. It's cheap and works as it should which you can see from my videos :)

    I have an attempted repair Nintendo switch. It was water damaged and I was not experienced as I wished and knocked off a few components while trying to replace thr m92. If you feel to fix it please reset it before selling. But I most suggest a donor switch. State your price

    Hi recently found your chanel ...I like it... a couple of criticisms , can you try to keep the image still when you speed up footage it goes blurred, and those gloves have black hair like a shaved leg under macro... it's slightly nauseating.

    Which flux do you use? When I clean the board with IPA to get rid of the flux it never look like yours. Yours is so clean while mine looks like the IPA has attacked the surface of the board. Or do I push to hard with the toothbrush/q-tip?

    • @JoeyDoesTech
      @JoeyDoesTech  2 роки тому

      I use Kingbo RMA 218 and it can be quite sticky, but I just clean very thoroughly I believe :)

    Hi Joey, i have a query/request if you wish to want to take this on as a challenge for your channel. i have a switch 1st gen that is jig hackable which has a questionable sd connection issue. i believe one of the pins might have disconnected or come away from its position as is not now reading sd cards correctly. i was wondering if you wish to take this on for a future video as I would be happy if the wire bypass trick is attempted to get it more permanently connected as I know these connection types are prone to breaking quite easily after a few disconnecting and reconnecting occurs..
