I'm so breathless after this, he is so beautiful. Moorlands Totilas is an so amazing horse, a one in a lifetime, he is flying through it all, like it's nothing. He and Edward Gal are an unbeatable couple.
Totilas has such beautiful movement, and Edward Gal is such an amazing rider! He just takes my breath away when I see such a team. They're in sync and you can feel the connection! It's utterly breathtaking!
I love to watch this amazing video, Edward Gal is a inspiration for me. The first time I watch this I was moved to tears, such beauty, partnership, skill. When ever I have a bad day riding my horse I watch this video to inspire me, to reach my goals.
Look at him! He's so elegant! The way he holds his hind end up and the natural frame. The half passes, leg yields, piroette (sp?) and everything else! Amazing!
I watch this when I need to be uplifted. I don't think I've ever seen it when I haven't cried - for the sheer beauty of it and the great loss of an absolute treasure. I pray Edward Gal and Totilas will be reunited sometime soon.
Poor Totilas, he's a broken horse now... this video shows a happy, hard working horse and rider who have a bond and want to please each other. the Totilas we've seen most recently has been an animal just going through the motions without much care or happiness.
got tears in my eyes... it´s such a beautifull dressage and so touching. I´m speachless I only saw Totilas ridden by Matthias. Best dressage I´ve ever seen. When he is moving it´s seems like he is dancing.
i have many friends that believe that this is a piece of cake: "you're just doing the basic transitions with circles and what not"... they have no clue how wrong they are. this is the most gorgeous performance i've ever seen
totilas and edward belong together, the german guy will never be able to compare to this couple. Edward is good, the horse is outstanding, but the combination of them is simply briljant! very sad to see they have been seperated
He's so beautiful, i think that the announcers are right, he does have huge natural ability. That performance, in my opinion, deserves to set the new world record!
How can anyone dislike this video? If anyone has ever ridden dressage or even just watched it you have to be impressed with this one. It just does not ever get any better then that, It is impossible. the only one that may ever break the record is Edward and Totilas, but now that is never going to happen. They were a perfect pair. truly amazing to watch and learn from.
@sainglain Of course, Gal is an amazing coach for this wonderful Stallion, and so beautiful and elegant. And his beauty is to almost disappear and let the horse be the hero. The harmony was complete. And this is why it hurter so much when Totilas was sold. It sounded like a real betrayal. Gal's relation with Totilas was a fairy tale, this thing that people need. But then holy Money is the thing that counts, not beauty and love. And that's sad.
This beautiful horse and its rider Edward Gal will never be the same since the horse is sold to Germany. Never again will we see horse and rider so perfect together. I must admit I always have to cry. Why is there nobody in Holland to purchase this horse again and bring it back to Edward Gal. Michèle de Winde/Nieuw Vennep/Holland
Rath will never reach this level with totilas as edward did. Totilas did everything for him gave everything he had because they had a real connection and I think that no matter how many years it takes before they come back again they will still feel the same with each other. Comrades for life.
I'm from Holland., and I have seen him at his stable,, and he seems to be so happy.. he just wanna work for Edward,, he doesnt do it because he had to do it but because he want it.. xx
It's very hard to compare Fuego XII and Totilas, they move quite differently. Totilas has much softer movements, more fluid, and Fuego has very strong forthright movements I guess. I think Fuego engages his hind end better, but Totilas has a better pirouette, I love them both. I think Edward Gal is able to be a much quieter rider, Totilas seems to be a calmer stallion, while Fuego is a bit spookier, a bit stronger. I love both these horses!
Not "the dutch". Only his owners, who wanted to cash in €10 million. Everyone else was against it. Germany thought they could buy and use brilliance without putting in any effort themselves. But a horse is not some kind of car. I'll bet Totilas has been thoroughly unhappy ever since they tore him away from the people he knew and loved.
@Spottedtv He is doing one time changes. To explain that, when a horse is cantering they are leading with either their left or their right foreleg. You can tell which one because it appears to move further forward than the other one. Horses should be leading with their inside foreleg when cantering circles (unless they're doing a counter canter). They can change leading legs by either coming back to trot briefly and picking up canter on the other leg (simple changes) or by doing a little skip t
Awesome video. I read a lot about how reining horses can do this just as well... post your videos then. Incredible ride. Such fluid movement and seemless transitions. I wish I could do half as well... and had a horse with half the talent... Great job and thanks for this video...
Just saying this because someone here said that this is animal abuse. If you would open your eyes you'd see that this is not animal abuse. Edward Gal doesn't use rollkur nor does he force his horse through a test with an injury unlike Alexander Rath. What Rath did that could be called animal abuse since no horse or any other animal should be forced to go into a test with an injury that in the end caused this wonderful horse to retire at the age of 15 (correct me if I'm wrong here). Also Rath did ride Totilas in rollkur and he did not get banned. That's something I'll never understand because it's prohibited to use rollkur at all.
Gal may not use Rollkur in tests, but Totilas was never trained correctly by anybody. It's not all about the head and what is correct or incorrect (although over 50 peer-reviewed veterinary studies published at present all conclude that ANY degree of overbending is extremely damaging to the horse's entire body [poll ossification, damaged ligaments, kissing spine, joint issues, restricting breathing, etc.], not just severe Rollkur). If someone has ANY knowledge on horse anatomy and how different parts of the body function with each other, they could easily tell that something is not right (not just with Totilas; with any horse you look at). For example, it is a physical impossibility for a horse to lift its forelegs as high as Toto does unless their back is hollow and extremely tense (the negative tension allows the structure of the foreleg to lift that high). Everything begins in the hindquarters, and that's where all the old masters started. You have to get impulsion, get the horse moving his feet far underneath himself so he can use his core and lift his back. If you look at many of today's dressage horses, not just Totilas (who is a saint, in my opinion), you'll notice that they never really step very far under their bodies with their hind legs. It's especially noticeable in passage and/or piaffe (that pause and "bobbing" of the hind feet before being placed down is a definitive sign of tension in the hamstrings, meaning the back is hollow and tense and the horse physically cannot engage itself). Dujardin has a more correct way of riding than most modern riders, but is still not totally correct because she rides hollow horses (once more with the high forelegs which cannot be achieved without a hollow, tense back). It's almost laughable when you look at tests on paper, view a performance of that test, and compare it to the FEI's own guidelines for scoring. The judges always score higher for flashy movements instead of correctness. I once watched a test where the horse ended up with an 80% - though he was overbent, extremely hollow, and in various piaffe portions either moved over 1m forward or took backwards steps, which are mandatory point demerits. If the judges had scored according to the actual rulebook, that particular test should have been around a 16%. Bad riding is rewarded because it's pretty to look at, nothing more...
If people get caught using rollkur they get banned. If you were able to see they used roller on Totilas they would have banned him from te competition already. So to say you can see him use rollkur either from the tenseness in his back (?) or the position of his head is all pure bullshit. Incredible horse, incredible rider and an incredible team.
Yup, not to mention that Gal has very light hands in this ride and that Totals never showed any problems until he'd switched riders and been with Rath for quite a while.
I'm so breathless after this, he is so beautiful.
Moorlands Totilas is an so amazing horse, a one in a lifetime, he is flying through it all, like it's nothing. He and Edward Gal are an unbeatable couple.
never again will we see this beautiful duo together... sad day for Edward and Totilas :'(
R.I.P Totilas! You where a superstar!
Totilas has such beautiful movement, and Edward Gal is such an amazing rider! He just takes my breath away when I see such a team. They're in sync and you can feel the connection! It's utterly breathtaking!

This moved me to tears. Totilas is amazing.

This video almost makes me cry. Harmony, elegance and beauty:) Magnificent!
Best horse Ive ever seen.
Absolutely Amazing this makes me cry everytime I see it. No-one else should ride this fabulous horse except Edward Gal :)
got tears in my eyes... it´s such a beautifull dressage and so touching. I´m speachless I only saw Totilas ridden by Matthias. Best dressage I´ve ever seen. When he is moving it´s seems like he is dancing.
I got tears in my eyes when I saw this. Amazing horse and an amazing partnership between Edward and Totilas.
I admit I'm not the most well educated dressage person around, but I recognize skill and greatness and this is it in spades.
This performance together with the amazing music brings it so much over the WOW-level! I'm stunned!
i have many friends that believe that this is a piece of cake: "you're just doing the basic transitions with circles and what not"... they have no clue how wrong they are. this is the most gorgeous performance i've ever seen
i have shivers run down my spine whenever i watch this, along with valegro and blue hors matine... they are in my eyes perfection!
You can just feel the energy coming from Totilas. An amazing show of teamwork between horse and rider that will never be seen again
Edward Gal was the BEST rider on Totilas!
So incredible. I hope Edward Gal gets to ride another horse as incredible as Totilas in his lifetime, what an unbelievable rider.
This is an amazing horse,.. and rider, communication, the best dressage horse I've ever seen.
it breaks my heart that these two have been broken up - such a unique partnership that no other rider will be able to top :(
this horse is stunning! his movements are beautiful!
really never get tired of watching this test.......toto and gal really were phenomenal
What a Beauty horse and a perfect rider
totilas and edward belong together, the german guy will never be able to compare to this couple. Edward is good, the horse is outstanding, but the combination of them is simply briljant! very sad to see they have been seperated
I realize I am quite off topic but does anybody know a good website to stream new tv shows online ?
@Joshua Damon Lately I have been using FlixZone. You can find it on google :)
@Joshua Damon I would suggest FlixZone. You can find it by googling =)
Great!!! Wow!!
We are very proud to have a combination like this in Holland!
Bravo Edward and Totilas!!!!!
Stunningly beautiful horse....can easily say this is art in motion. Amazing....
Perfection. Never get tired of seeing this kind of beauty.

i had the privilige to see this for real at olympia - he is an amazing horse!
If i had bought the horse, and had plenty of money. i would just give it to Edward, because they are perfect togheter!
Edward gal is a heros; He and Moorlands are perfect :)
They are one. Just wonderfull :D

Rath will never reach this level with totilas as edward did.
Totilas did everything for him gave everything he had because they had a real connection and I think that no matter how many years it takes before they come back again they will still feel the same with each other.

Oh I remember those lovely days when Piaffe was all about the powerful and correct use of the back and hind legs...
Unbelievable! Thank you for the video!!!
For me it's enough with the starting working trot and alt. When i'll be able to do something like that, i will speak about the rest.
Ohh man dieses Pferd is sooo genial!! davon träumt glaub ich jeder dressurreiter! *__*
Totilas is echt ne Legende!!! Der hammer!!
this is so amazing it makes me want to cry...baaaah
32 people are absolutely insane... I'm not even a big dressage person and that performance was I absolutely incredible
I actually cant stop watching this

nooit van mij leven zo'n paard gezien als moorlands totilas wat een talent prachtige gangen een mooi combinatie met ed gall
Germany somehow killed dressage magic. Also the dutch let this happen. It remains a tragedy to this date.
So true! The combination of etward and totilas was magical !
I still think Edward is absolutely amazing what a hero!
Would love to see totilas with Edward vs valegro, grand prix
Me too! Bold and dramatic music really fits this horse's movement and presence :)

Edward and Totilas were a dream-team. Now he is here in Germany and I think Mathias Rath will never be as good as Edward with Totilas.
Best Horse in the world
I love the music (:
What a horse!!! Amazing!!!
I see the owner and his brother often drive around a beautiful horse and cart combination. They love to drive too. VERY beautiful horse.
I want this horse... He is sooo beautiful!!!

Edward Gal hat Haende wie Watte. Einfach schoen! Super Team. Leider nicht mehr.
Awesome video. I read a lot about how reining horses can do this just as well... post your videos then. Incredible ride. Such fluid movement and seemless transitions. I wish I could do half as well... and had a horse with half the talent... Great job and thanks for this video...
I loved!!!!!! when the horse piaffed at 0:58!

Simply wow!
Totilas is premium!♥
The perfect couple....!!!!
Totilas is PERFECT!

i think this is the best dressage combination we will ever see; they should not have sold him on
Never change a winning team! Poor Edward poor Totlas....
Such an elegant horse..
It's so sad to see Rath with Totilas. Edward Gal and Totilas, they have a very special bond..
This is such a great horse...
