    This is one of the most honest and respecting interviews I see or heard from a rider.
    He knows, and is honest. Thats one of the things many of us need to learn, don not criticize anybody before you are sure you have a point.
    One of the few (famous) riders who talks about his pride of the horse and the horses' qualities. That is respect.
    This is one of my favorite interviews, because he 'knows'...

      About horses Edward Gal is the King in Dressage and master of highest extensions.
      The best horsemanship in a rider by all time favorite ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

    This horse and rider are quite possibly the best pair we will ever see, so it's a shame to see all these negative comments. Do you really think that a horse would do something and be incredibly good at it if he did not want to do it? Please don't make hateful comments about them, especially if you don't know what you're talking about.

      The rider treats the horse well and it shows in the way the horse behaves and responds.

      Totilas isn’t ‘good’ per say. His extended trot shouldn’t even get a 5 in my opinion but because he’s genetically flashy infront - people don’t see what’s correct and just think about the amazing front leg action. I think people need to educate themselves on old fashioned classical dressage and see the difference. Charlotte Dujardins approach to training is the best and in my opinion, her and valegro will always be the ones to beat. I’ll never support anyone who practices rolkur as part of their training. I’ll never forget watching Edwards warm up with a chestnut and seeing the horses tongue lolling out and going blue. So sad.

    No need for such rudeness guys, just appreciate the video. Totilas is a wonderful horse, and him and Edward made an amazing pair. I think Edward seemed very fond of Totilas as well, and I felt he loves him very much... you could just tell from the way he spoke of him and smiled when around him :) the end is adorable

    The point of dressage is that the horse performs "freely' and in such a way that the rider is aiding him and allowing him to do what he does best. This is why the Totalis/Gal pairing was so wonderful. Complete harmony. And the horse looked happy. Now, he is broken, and just manageable'. Very sad.

    Ich kann mir den Schmerz nicht vorstellen, den Gals Verrat bei diesem großartigen Champion verursacht hat, dem er alles verdankt. Schande über Gal

    I find it so interesting that Totilas' personality sounds exactly like my horse.😊❤ What a beautiful stallion he was!

    In fact you can make an assessment of the horse. If you pause around 1:41, you will see the horse's back is quite underdeveloped and almost atrophied showing that when this horse exercises, he is not moving through his back. He is doing these Grand Prix movements as "tricks" rather than showing correct "training." I won't make a comment about his rider, because it may be how he was taught, what he feels, etc, but I am just looking at the horse's musculature

    Haha!!! Eat the mic Totilas lolz. It was cute when he yawned at the beginning. Edward Gal is such a genuine person, I wish I could've met him.

    PLEASE PLEASE CAN WE HAVE EDWARD BACK WITH TOTILAS, I LOVED WATCHING THEM. HAVE YOU WATCHED THE UA-cam VIDEO 'WHAT HAPPENED TO TOTILAS' I CRIED WHEN I WATCHED IT. HAVING RICH PARENTS MORALLY GIVES YOU NO RIGHT TO RUIN A BEAUTIFUL BRILLIANT RELATIONSHIP SUCH AS THAT BETWEEN EDWARD AND TOTILAS ONLY TO TRY AND STEAL THE GLORY THAT THEY WORKED TOGETHER TO ACHIEVE. LINSENHOFF AND SCHOCKEMOHLE SHOULD RETURN HIM TO EDWARD AND FORGET ABOUT THE POLITICS BEFORE A GREAT HORSE IS COMPLETELY RUINED.

    "You can't let him loose, because when you let him loose, he starts being crazy just running and running."
    He starts to behave like a horse. Incredibly sad.

    @Cassolelvr Actually, there are rumors going around that they will be reunited :D Some australian rich guy who is Gals sponsor is buying Totilas back and letting Edward ride him again. I´ve read an article about it somewhere and it´s all over the internett, but DAMN! I really hope the rumors are true! I´d love it if Gal and Totilas could become a team again. They were unbeatable!

    Question: At 5:17 does E.G. give T. a Full apple? i.e. not slice the apple in 2 halfs or 4 quarters?!! my brother wouldn't let me give his race horses a full apple, has to be sliced. Sláinte!

    • @louisecassidy5991
      @louisecassidy5991 5 років тому

      Mark, Robert, Cuthbert ...whole apple, big crunchy foamy mess. Then another, bigger mess, then a third, very funny! Then they pick up what was dropped. No chance of swallowing one whole, never heard that rule.

    @pumpkinses I´m not exactly fan of him not getting the chance to be like a normal horse, getting out and all, but when a top level athlete like Totilas injures himself it´s a friggin big deal. That´s why they are doing what is safe for him, to be able to be at his best and be the Totilas he is. Look at Blue Hors Matine, what happened to her. That was a tragic accident for all us who loved her. Imagine what would happen if we lost our beloved Totilas.

    Such a pity Edward and Totilas have been separated. I don't think Totilas will be as good with anyone else. Perhaps he's just going to stand at stud now....

  • @MajesticRosie

    @itnocsiv
    It's not tricks. Dressage is the understanding between horse and rider. You said that higher level dressage is all about the tricks. That is so wrong. Sure, the horse learns how to do all these fancy movements, but they're hardly "tricks". "Tricks" are what circus ponies do, what people teach their horses and ponies to do. It is almost disrespectful to call dressage "tricks". The horse may be taking subtle cues or aids from a rider, but that's just it- subtle. You hardly see "trick" ponies taking subtle cues. In dressage, there is an understanding between the horse and the rider that is so unique (as seen so well with Totilas and Edward Gal) and that leads to the ability to dance like this pair does.
    Not trying to be rude, but seeing you call dressage "tricks" really set me off.

    I'm not sure exactly how he got sold? Is it all about the money? I think Ed and Totilas were made for eachother. I can't imagine anyone else on him. It's really sad to think he won't be riding him anymore.

    How does Gal train? Look up Dutch Harness Horses: lots of action through „stretchies“ - no true forward scope.
    Screwed up gaits, no proper collected trot but passage-trot. No proper extended trot.
    = #DHH #KWPN #saddlebred #biglick #trot #LDR #stretchies #EdwardGal #rollkur #abuse #hyperflexion

    @MerlynLover This is so sad, horse can't be allowed out in a field because he runs around like crazy and might throw a shoe. So he lives locked up with steel on his feet and steel in his mouth. Just to perform for a crowd. No wonder he's not properly developed - he can't run free. Is he really happy?
