- In this episode of Station Rigs, we are in Susquehanna Township, PA looking at Rescue 37. Rescue 37 is a 2019 Pierce Velocity Heavy Rescue. It is a purpose-built Heavy Rescue with many unique features specifically designed by the men and women of Rescue Fire Company 37. Due to their location in Pennsylvania, they cover a variety of areas needing a diverse apparatus. Chief Reist was instrumental in the design, and organization of the truck. One can clearly see that the Rescue Fire Company Volunteers have spent countless hours pouring over the details of their mission set, to get this apparatus just right. There are only a few of these types of trucks located on the East Coast that can even get close to the capabilities that this unit. The amazing part of this episode is that some volunteers took time out of their day to demonstrate to you just one of the features this truck has to offer. Make sure to stay till the end to see this in action.
If you are ever interested in volunteering please reach out to them at www.rescue37.org, on Twitter @37Rescue, or on their Facebook page Rescue Fire Company #37. Don't forget they have a junior program and a Live-In-program you can be part of. Their station phone number is 717-545-0608
Thank you to Chief Larry Reist for allowing us to tour this rig. Everyone can obviously see his passion for the service and this station. The residents of Susquehanna Township should be proud of what they have serving them.
As ALWAYS thank you for watching and make sure to subscribe, LIKE, and share these videos so that we can keep bringing you more stations from all over the world.

At 28:40, this similar heating technique has been used in Alaska for years. This is a beautiful, nicely outfitted rig!!🇺🇸
that truck is friggin' INSANE.
Also awesome job to that Chief! He really did a great presentation of the rig.
READY FOR WHATEVER ! DIGG ITT ! THANKS BROTHER MIKE ! "TOP SHELF " ! 🇺🇲
well done, no waisted space!!!
Fun fact, my town currently operates Susquehanna TWP's former heavy rescue, the one this unit replaced.
LA County rigs are a red-orange or kinda burnt orange color, those are cool.
Just beginning this video and this apparatus is a beast! My previous department’s rescues were 38’ I love the paint scheme.
Beautiful Rig … very well organized and equipped
I love seeing how well you and the chief get on!!!!
Excellent video!!
Always enjoy seeing what other stations have in their fleet!
Amazing truck set up for pretty much everything!!!!
This Is Definitely A Nice Piece Of Apparatus #Piecre #PiecreManufacturing🙂😃😄😁👍
It sure is!
Thanks for another great video Mike!! Awesome heavy rescue. I enjoyed the longer video. Hope your doing well! 🇺🇸
Very interesting how there is no exit out of the back of the walk in.
amazing rig, and stuff like that
Very impressive rig!
I from Belgium and i like this. I m a member of thé Belgium red cross
HAD TO WATCH ,AGAIN !
Beast mode beautiful looking piece well specd
Very interesting. A nice quick video to watch. It would be interesting to add in some quick lessons of why the firefighters need to take those various steps of stabilization the other measures.
For my grandkids who may be the next generation of firefighters, this sort of video is fabulous. Make sure you are making videos for those 10 and 12 year olds!
Check out the day in the life series and you can see two different videos that show vehicle rescues and talks about things like that. Our content is always youth friendly ! Thanks for watching and subscribe if you have not yet. It all helps!
that's a Beautiful Rig
Liked and shared 🧑🏻👍🏻🚒
You pointed out how they keep a case of talk about radios from Motorola, I would really advise that you just setup a few simplex operation channels on those apx radios
we use those airbags for lifting a fallen person too
Beautiful, beautiful rescue.
Insane truck icp must have been there
Interesting seeing An Aztec 4:1 used for stabilizing a strut. Any reason why they’re applying mechanical advantage to support a tripod?
I was wondering the same think ….seams like a over kill. A stight line back to the anchor and use prusuks for a “cheat knot” to make and length adjustment you may need ….then back it up w a figure 8 on a bend and carbine it to the anchor. Way less hardware ….KISS !
My thoughts as well.
Did you forget a 0 in the description? Keep up the good work. I ok forward to your content
Thanks. Corrected 😜
with the monopod they probably should have practiced doing it once before you turn the camera on because they didn't know what to do.
You need to come to the IFA (Indiana fire association) it volunteers but we got two departments you might like here
Send us the official invite and we can try to get there
What a monster. I love the American rescue trucks. 💪🏼
Are you planning to travel around the world and look at the different fire brigades in the countries? I'm particularly interested in what you say about the German system. It's very different here.
Greetings from the Black Forest in southern Germany -Simon
now theres a million dollar rig
Unbelievable truck from France
Maybe for future purposes, how would I contact you for a station tour?
Email us at watchheroesnextdoor@gmail.com. We would love to hear from you
I live in Susquehanna Township
Beautiful rescue truck 🚒 how much one those cost?
A basic fire truck or engine with no equipment on it can cost as little as $250,000, but the price can go up to $6 million (rarely) depending on the type of vehicle. Then there's the equipment too which can cost more than the truck itself.
With the equipment I’d say this is in the 4-5 million dollar range
I hope you got plenty of fire extinguisher fire balls and table salt
scratch my one comment on the one video you do a Lot of companies from PA I noticed bc your Also from PA I just thought that was cool
Just need EDRAULIC tools
They love the mr potato head
😉😜
My OCD approves
Great job and love the remote headsets

With concerns over russia getting the way they are - that the possibility of a nuclear exchange has grown higher - all this hi tech stuff concerns me. In the 90s and before a lot of our gear didn't use computer chips especially to the degree they do now. EMP is a thing and it would not only kill the rig but it would kill all the gear on it you would need. Yes they have manual backups - but they can only get so much done with them.
@@leoschneider3570 Yup. It's still farther then you get if power tools stop working.
That truck 28 tons
I don't know anything about thi$ dept. or where it i$ but I $ure hope thi$ chief appreciate$ the financial $upport he ha$. Holy cow $$$$$$$$
I suspect a significant portion of the cost was covered by a generous DNS/UASI grant.
First
what is with the mr potato head on the truck
He puts one in every video. Just for viewers to try and find.
@@johnlebzelter4208 is there a prize for how meany times you see it
@@matthewmeuleman9872 don’t think so.
Hi
I don’t like the red cab
Ain’t that a shame? I mean, no one asked for your opinion…but yet your telling us 🤔
Please do the Independent Hose company #1 of Frederick md. - Maryland's oldest volunteer Fire company.
We need the invite
How does a Fire company invite Heroes next door to be on video. ?
Start by sending an email to watchheroesnextdoor@gmail.com. Include in the email the contacts and a brief history of the station and rigs that they would like to highlight
Heroes next Door - maybe you guys should do the Independent Hose company #1 -- of Frederick md.
We just need the invite from the station
