Back in the 90s I was with Thiels FD and we MA with Piedmont FD. I was Chief Diver back then and I knew Dan SR. I cannot believe how far they have come over the years! VeryVery impressed!
I guess he was just practicing with the truck that fell over the Tapenzee Bridge. Thats quite the drop, for those who don’t know….. but more station rigs.. best content
Thank you so much for showing the doning of the DRY Suit 😊. For me personally "WOOL Socks" a must. I have found or should say "FELT" my toes going NUMB First. Before my hands start. The Chief (Retired) did not mention ( NITROX) Mix in the scuba tanks. For me, on Recreational Diving that pony bottle with a hight MIX of Nitrox for the Decompress safty stop really helps me when I get to surface 😊. But my guess is Nitrox mixing equipment is an add cost to this Department that they don't have. I can say from personal experience 😊 that the mix of pure Oxygen in the pony tank is a big plus on safty stops. The Retired Chief talk about water current in the Hudson. The "0" Visibility is also another that has stress on diver. My breathing rate was a lot higher for me on the Night Dives.
Come by fire station, one in Tallahassee Florida. We have the oldest fire station in Tallahassee Florida and do a station cribs on fire station one and a station rigs on engine 101 and truck one

Now when I took fast class and in our county of Greene County new York the fast team has to be self independent they supply there own pumper and tools what if they get called for fast and need handlines. That makes no sense to me rolling a rescue truck for fast
Most fast teams in NY don't have to have handlines because the main reason were there is to do Rescue Operations when answer if a firefighter goes down I have never heard of a fast team needing to bring water bc the fast team normally parks down the road and leaves truck there because there isn't any room for then to get close or just wanna leave the room for incoming depts that are going to work
Mike, Great video & walk around! Dive rescue is a really different part of a fire department! These guys operate just like a commercial dive team. Teathered & able to work in sewers. Wow. Most divers that I have seen work are only open water. But it sounds like they are very busy, on The Hudson!🌉. I bet that they work with the NY State Police, alot! Thanks for traveling to NYS👍
