BIG RIG Fire Fighting
Вставка
- Опубліковано 23 вер 2022
- Denver Fire Department station tours and rig tours have been outstanding. This one is no exception. Neil, a crew member of station 1 does a fantastic job going through not just one rig but TWO. The is part of a crew that trains for specialty rescues, specifically collapse rescues, rope rescues, trench, and any other dangerous rescue you can think of. His knowledge of these trucks is what every firefighter should strive to achieve. Denver Station 1 is a highly sought-after station because of the technical rescues these guys perform. It is awesome to see dual-purpose fire trucks with other rigs at a ready status for the "big jobs" holding all the specific and unique equipment. A semi-truck is their collapse unit. Bringing yet another first for the Heroes Next Door channel. I was amazed at the amount of equipment it carried and the skills needed to make it function. Denver Fire Department is truly special as they work on anticipating and training for any type of emergency that the city might through at them.
A special thank you needs to go out to Firefighters Neil and Bo, along with PIO (now chief) Greg, and their new PIO JD for allowing us to come and film these incredible stations and rigs. We as a community must say thank you to all the people in the Denver Fire Service for the dedication and work they are doing. They are all true Heroes Next Door.

Lincoln Logs! Showing your age brother! They were one of my favorite toys. Great rigs and a great concept to cross train everyone in the station.
🤔😉😂
Fun fact: 22:49 See the two silver doors on either side of the trailer tandems and the outlet at the back of the trailer? The doors cover trailer hitches, which you'll often see on the sides of rescue apparatus to mount portable winches, along with a power source to run them. Sure, you could do that with this rig but that wasn't the intent. Originally, the idea was to mount a couple horizontal fixtures into the two hitches, slap a work surface and the miter saw on top, and create a handy work bench to cut shoring within steps of the lumber tunnel at the back of the rig. That arrangement is mirrored on both sides so you could have two cut stations operating simultaneously.
Love this station, all the technical items for any situation in a one stop shop! Cross training is a must!!
Hey just moved to Denver currently attending CU Denver, and I see these trucks on a daily. Thanks for all your hard work out there!
Study hard and enjoy the city
Well thought out organization of the compartments, even on the reserves. I personally like the engineer’s compartment and the room for their gear.
Are you guys definitely take your time and organize trucks to make it work efficiently and effectively thank you for watching
What a cool looking rig
Those telescoping ladders are awesome. Electricians and home inspectors around me absolutely love them for going up in attics Where it is just a hole in the ceiling in a bedroom closet
That’s a nice unit right there.
love the collapse rig!
Me too did you have any idea all this kind of equipment is in one of these trucks?
Nice unit
Hi your channel is so cool
New favorite truck
(ok ok hear me out, what if it was a walk-in rescue?!?!)
Nice Appliance
24:22 My younger brother says Is that a rocket missile on top of the blue truck? Aren't rescue people supposed to help people
Me: 😵😓
Great video, liked and shared 🧑🏻👍🏻🚒
You are much appreciated. Thank you.
@@HeroesNextDoor No worries mate 🧑🏻👍🏻
Very nice truck
Do you have a great truck? We had no idea these kind of trucks have this much equipment.
You should try to get to good fellowship Ambulance in West Chester or Marple Ambulance or Springfield Ambulance they have fire stations really close you can cover two in one trip 😊
We need the invites to make that happen. All are in our backyard but they need to email us the invite.
fancey, and cool
@Heros Next door my local fire department has a 1.35 million 2020 pierce 100” areal tower, they also have a ALS ambulance a tech rig they specialize also in swift current rescue since I live on the Kentucky side of the Ohio river in a town called Hebron Ky
And I love your videos sir
Have them send us an invite so that we can get them on the schedule to come visit.
Thanks we appreciate that
ok so hopefully you believe me but I know the chief or the fire station
You should check out south metros engine 1/2 and Med 1 In centennial Colorado
We will consider that when we head back next year. Thanks for watching and keep sharing these so that we can keep doing more and more and more stations !
How many watts is the generator on the Collabs rig? I saw a 20 space panel and what looked like an eight space panel in the first compartment and both looked completely filled with breakers?
Also glad to see cutler hammer ch pannels. Top of the line and one of my absolute favorite brands
What are the two compartments, one on each side that he didn’t open? The tall narrow compartments
Nothing exciting, just a bunch of miscellaneous odds and ends for tools in other compartments. Hoses, adapters and the water pump for the concrete saws; assorted blades; and some gas cans on the officer's side. Some short trench struts and extenders; load indicators; hoses for the Paratechs; and a couple air compressors (one gas, one electric) on the engineer's side. Or, at least, that's how we laid it out in back in 2008 when it still had that new firetruck smell. That section of the trailer is where the lumber tunnel ends, and it just made more sense--drawing from experience working off the rig it replaced, a 1990 Ford L8000/Hackney beer delivery truck donated to the department by Coors; it continues to operate as the reserve out of 18s in Lowry--to add a separate compartment there as a sort of catch-all space for things that might've gotten lost in other compartments if we'd instead simply stretched out the #5 & 6 compartments.
Check out SMFR's TRV and ARFF vehicles
We are heading back to Colorado sometime next year. We’re talking to their PIO now to make that happen.
also, thanks for making there vids!
Their
You’re welcome our pleasure we hope to do so much more with your support. Thank you for watching. Make sure to subscribe like and share as many videos as you can to help us build so we can go see more.
The collapse rig has 10 wheels not 18 but still very cool
I call it an 18 wheeler cause it’s basically a tractor trailer. I actually didn’t count the wheels.
Would love to see east whiteland township on the channel, they seem pretty busy, they are ambulances and engines are always going past my house at least three times a day but that’s also probably a lot of stuff relating to Paoli Hospital
How many videos did you do in Denver? 😂
We did 9 videos all together on our first trip. We are working with south metro to come back to do more as a collaboration
Just hear me out could u go to Alaska or Hawaii next😂
Are you paying for our stay and travel then sure 🤪😉. We are going to get there it will just take some time
@@HeroesNextDoor understandable
@heroesnextdoor Question for you how fast can fire rescue saws handle bench work for a ho scale model railroad
I’m not sure I understand the question. Can you explain to me what you’re trying to find out?
10 wheeler not 18
Yeah, I’m a little old thinking. Everything is an 18 wheeler I understand it’s a 10.
That's good you don't do pd stations
Why not? We have done two PD stations.
I like the part where he shows a fire truck
