- Easy ways to light a scene - CINEMATIC LIGHTING Breakdown
In this video I’m going to breakdown a few lighting setups from a recent short with Smallrig. We’ll take a look at a moody indoor scene, an exterior in harsh sunlight and & indoor scene mixing natural light. For my camera I went with the Sony FX3 and a set of DZO Vespid Primes with a Smallrig Wireless Follow Focus.

I love your work!, no ego, no pose; it's all pure cinematography and beautiful results!
Thank you so much for the kind words! 🙏😀
Those tubes down the hallway are perfect! Didn’t even notice them until you pointed them out. 👍
Yoo, Alex. Thanks man, they really make the scene pop! 🙏
Another Nice one, Thanks friend!
Glad to hear you liked it! 🙏
AGAIN! Loved this! Thank you Jacques. ❤
Hey Tom, thank you so much man. Really appreciate your support on my channel! 🔥
Your teaching is so great!
Thank you so much my friend! 🙏
😊Appreciate the lighting contrast diagram.
Happy to hear that! 🔥
the interior scenes are superb
for the outside the bounce method seems better to me in these conditions (no clouds, very strong sun). It's hard to fight against the sun but above all it's not easy to balance for a natural result.
you could also use negative ground fill to avoid red reflection and save time in post ;)
How did i only find your channel now, keep it up 👑
Thank you so much for watching! 🙏
Fantastic - simple solutions with impactful results. Not easy to achieve without a long time working hard and figuring it all out. Thanks for sharing.
Hey, thank you so much for the nice comment. I really appreciate it. Thank you for your support on the channel! 🔥
It looks so easy when you are doing it
Practice makes perfect! 🔥
You truly are a master of light! Your tutorials are simply in a class of their own!
Thank you so much, Harald. That means so much and I really do appreciate your support! 🙏
I really don’t get sometimes how most creators looking for the most fancy gear and neglect the power of good lighting for their work. Really great video. Love that you explain each scenario and the why you placed each light. Invaluable
Ah man, such nice words. Really happy to hear that you found the video helpful! 🙏
This is a useful video. This is so professional such as your camera, your light.. I'm an amateur filmmaker, I don't have enough budget like you. It will be exciting if you make a series using less light and a cheaper camera. It may be a challenge for you and useful for almost any viewer
Just keep the good work, you rock!!!
Thank you so much for your support! 🙏
Yet again, Jacques drops a load of gems for me to add to my tool bag. Lighting for the space and not the face. The effort you put into keeping the beam on that back wall is mind-blowing.
Yo Mark! Ah man, thank you so much for the kind words. Really glad you found the video helpful.🙏
@@jacques_crafford helpful and inspiring my friend. Thanks for taking the time to do this for us.

Glad you think so!🙏
The best, hand down
So kind. Thanks for your comment! 🙏
Lekker bra!🔥🔥
Hey man, you have some of the best tutorials I've seen! I've just binged quite a few of them haha. I do have a question for you: I've noticed you use a lot of the same clips from different projects in your tutorials (all of them are awesome btw), but as you bring in those clips into a new project, do you re-color grade them every time? Or have you found an efficient way to reuse clips in new projects? If you have found an efficient way to do that in Davinci Resolve, I would love to know how you organize/execute it!
Nice
Thanks! 🙏
I'm new here , please make about color grading im very exited on your video great🎉
Nice. Do you use false color to determine your exposure for the skin?

@@jacques_crafford welcome Sir 🙏
What about colors? How to set up camera for shooting?
Tried registering for the sony alpha universe. Unfortunately I could not get based the product registration. It would not take the info for my gear(s) I tried to register. Anyone else had this issue.
