On of my favorite lighting examples is in the movie ranbo last blood. Spoiler alert. But when Rambo's neice dies in the truck with him she slowly slumps over to be lit only by the colder or bluer light of the moon (the kelvin thing confuses me sometimes but you know what I mean.) While Rambo is lit by the warmer tungsten headlights from the truck being reflected back in for a warm soft light in the dark. This works to make him appear more full of life while she looks more dead. Anyways, just thought you might like to check that out.

As a photographer I am aware of most of the terms that were mentioned in the video, however, there were new words for me regarding cinema lighting! I had no Idea! What a great lesson today! And by the way, I love the lens flare also and I use it a lot in my photography. Thank you so much Studio Binder for this incredible lesson!!
It's Diwali🕯today in 🇮🇳, the festival of light & you upload a video on 💡ing. Simply striking in terms of Let there be light. Thanks 🙏 from the bottom of my ❤...
I watch studiobinder vids for tips & tricks to put into my video game cinematics. These videos helps me understand why creative teams do what they do for film & game cinematics. Thanks for putting this content out! It's awesome.
Hello, I just got a job working for a company that helps provide lighting solutions for filim studios and I found your video while doing research so I can be better preppaired for what is ahead. Thanks for your video, look forward to learning more.
As a photographer, one can spend a lifetime studying light. Virtually every detail discussed here in Cinematic Lighting applies to still photography as well. Light paints our world. Drink it in.
My dad is a video photographer and has done a lot of cinematography in earlier years of his career. He taught me a lot about all this stuff as he knows I aspire to be a film director.
StudioBinder is SO INCREDIBLY HELPFUL! Your content is so comprehensive, clear and soo interestingly presented. I have learned a big chunk of all my fundamentals of film making from your channel. Thank you!
As a photographer, I appreciate (and critique) composition, lighting, lens choice, angles, etc. whenever I watch a movie. I know I bore/annoy my husband when I praise a choice, because I go technical on it, but who am I going to geek out about it? So much thanks from my inner photography geek. This video was 😙🤌🏼💋
Its diwali here in India Its the Festival of Lights, victory of good over evil & studiobinder dropped this video about cinematic lightning 😂😅 Happy diwali to all 🎆🎉
WOW!!! I'm the first comment - god I love this channel esp. The Shot List. BTW who is the narrator? His voice is *SOOOOO* cool!I just finished the video, which was pretty info dense, but I am looking forward to the part two which i hope will show us how we can do some of these lighting effects ourself on a shoestring budget.
It's Awesome how Cinematic Lighting defines the Identity of the Film with Beauty. Thank you StudioBinder, I'm Inspired. And enthusiastic about understanding the Chiaroscuro.
well, cameras are what's capturing the shot so they wouldn't need to hide it. By equipment, if you're referring to lights then they put it outside the shots range of view.
As a seasoned professional photographer dipping his toes into the scary world of cinematography, this is very educational and exciting. It would be amazing to make some videos on ultra-small teams (even one-man gang) and how to achieve great results with very little budget. 2022 cameras such as the fuji Xh2s, sony and blackmagic are changing how people approach video in the future (especially with decrease in budgets and increase in deliverables). Would be an amazing series that many would learn from. Not to take anything away from traditional ways of doing things...but times be changing :) Thanks and very happy to have found your channel!
Very informative! It would've been interesting to say a few things about the frequencies (refresh rates?) of different lights and how they influence the camera settings.
Incredible resource! I got here while looking for information for a character I'm writing, but the way you describe the process makes me want to do it myself - which is a pretty hard thing to achieve imo!
I would like to start learning something about video editing, VFX, etc… what do you guys recommend? Is there any useful course or tutorial? Btw great video, I always appreciate your content, this is a beautiful channel! Thank you 🙏🏻
I think if you type in Premiere Pro beginner course on YT and Google you'll get all the information you need. There's so many sources and you can learn the basics through any of them really
Thanks so much sir for your guidance My question is. On eps 6. Camera movement in on 21:36 minutes I saw that the background is moving faster than the forground characters Please which vidio would I watch than explained this kind of effect Thank sir I wish you all the best
In my personal opinion… Lighting is the single most important aspect to video production! Even more important than the camera brand or lens brand you use! I have seen poor video quality on expensive cameras & lenses from bad lighting, but I have never seen poor video quality on even cheap cameras & lenses that had good lighting! The common denominator is light!💡

perfect video
"Ultimater guide" sounds pretty totalitarian. What makes your video ULTIMATELY right? Sounds like a toxic masculine gesture of dominance :-))))))
