- The new VEGAS PRO 21 feature called Z-Depth uses ai to automatically detect video depth and allows you to add any videos, pictures or text behind objects closest to the camera. Vegas Pro 21 now has z-depth video effect where you can automatically detect the depth of your video with ai and magix have also made this effect easy to use in Vegas Pro 21.

this is really good for static images and very slow moving objects that have a lot of detail, I've tried it on a video of a man moving in a 360 motion and it didn't work out as planned. it had a hard time trying to figure out what the head was and getting the full body to work as a whole. I also tried masking out the man in the video to see if there was any improvements, it kinda help it out but it was the same outcome
First of all that is the coolest profile pic ever 😎 haha and yeh it's s very early feature so they'll be plenty of bugs and problems. What I'd say in that case is to try the mocha vegas and track the persons edges with the pen tool. All you need to do is create a selection around the subject, track forwards, press space at any point it loses tracking, correct it then, save it and then it will export the tracking points in Vegas Pro bezier masking
on steam version vegas pro 21, i dont find the deep learning models.
So can you take a person walking in a video mask that person and put them walking in another location? Or is this all for still shots?
this is really cool feature! but it consume high cpu when apply to video

Didnt work for me 😢 background just stays black. I need to experiment
Its better to have a loading bar while the ai figuring it out , cause if you click anywhere boom vegas do his old good trick ( crashing )

How do you enable these tools? I have Sony Vegas pro but I don’t have these specific AI tools
@@TextureAnimate you need vegas pro 21 for these features but check first if it's the suite version because i can't remember if it's also in standard version or suite only
@@VerticDesigns they’re not specific enough on the site but from what I read it’s a 21-22 feature and I believe I have 20. I’ll check when I’m home in about 2 hours and follow up so if anyone has the same question as I did, they’ll have an answer here
@@VerticDesigns can confirm I have 20 and you don’t need the suite. Upgrading to 21+ grants you access so long as you check the deep learning box when installing Sony vegas
@@TextureAnimate yeh that's it and if anyone unticks machine learning in the installation you can find a setup file in the Vegas Pro folder on the installed drive under MAGIX
where's the download for deep learning models??
When you install vegas pro, in the folder location you installed it to they'll be a vegas machine learning model setup file or you can search for it in Windows search

I think that's their separate program to vegas pro I didn't see anything about that in this update but you can check it out and see
how do i find the vegas Deep learning models?
You can find it in *Documents > MAGIX Downloads > Installationmanager > VEGAS_Deep_Learning_Models*
or just search "veg" in windows search and it should pop up under apps
