Thanks for all your comments regarding the process. As anyone who knows me can tell you, I'm a big researcher and rule follower 😂 I followed the minimal printed instructions provided with my order, as well as video demos from the brand and others. (In fact I think I was following along with a video in between shots of my own video.) Perhaps the instructions have been revised in the ~year since I made my purchase. Ultimately, I did not like the finish and especially the difficulty of removal, which seemed so easy with their remover product. If you like this brand and it works for you, awesome! 💅

I actually thought the opposite about your following the instructions. You did not leave your nail alone for a long enough period of time for the remover to work correctly. You rushed the process and started picking away at it with the orange stick. That was not a very good test, in my opinion.

Thank you for this video. I spent a ton on this kit and extra colors to find out I'm sensitive (not their fault). Removal is pretty awful too. It seems designed to repurchase bad, top, and remover. They gatekeepe real reviews on their site and FB group.

I've been using Sistaco for 3 months and will never go back to regular nail polish. I noticed a few things you did wrong with your application and removal. Once you brush on the color and before you apply top coat you should brush off the excess from your fingers. I'm not sure where you saw or heard that it was "dangerous" to get the powder on your skin but it is not. I often get the powder on my skin and after curing the top coat I wash my hands to get any excess off the skin.(After a few minutes... to be sure the top coat is fully cured). I can understand people being sensitive to a product but after the test you should be good if you don't react to it. When using the remover I scuff up my top coat so it can penetrate the polish and apply a generous layer of remover and just let it sit. I do not dig into my nails to scrape off the polish. Anything that doesn't come off easily I will repeat the process. Scuff with file and remover, let sit. I will say the more I use this system the better each application is. The Facebook group is great. I usually don't elevate anything on social media but this group is full of useful tips and tricks. AND the ladies that post are all very supportive and pleasant. Not your typical negative trolling on social media sites. Best of all is the condition of my natural nails has greatly improved. I'm not sure what was causing it but before I used this system my nails were brittle and peeling. They are much healthier and they are actually growing. If I were you after spending a fairly significant amount of money I'd give it another try. It would be helpful to checkout Facebook's Sistaco Collective and see what I'm talking about! I'd bet if you tried it again you won't be disappointed. Just my opinion!

@crocodillem6462 It came with a paper note from the company warning about getting product on your skin - I hadn't even thought to be concerned until I saw that.

I believe the brush you used is meant for dusting off the excess, not for applying the powder. That may be why your application was a bit rough. I just purchased this system and I love it.

I think you should follow the directions rather than doing your own version. I just did my first application of Sistaco Desert and it is lovely. I followed the directions - one thin coat of base, cure a minute, add powder, then one thin coat of top coat, and cure - done. It was dry in seconds and I could wash my hands immediately. Can't do that with polish. Does not even feel like I have anything on my nails. Also, I could never do my toes and get them to look decent. Sistico looks great on my toes and it was the easiest product to use on my toes. Sorry you had a bad experience but the facebook group provides many examples and tips when needed. I love to see the creative ideas from this group.

I did follow the official instruction to the letter so to speak. I’m a beauty therapist so have experience of how to prep nails etc. The base went on fine for me without touching the skin but I found the the powder went on a little patchy but I carried on. It didn’t look too bad after the top coat was applied but I was staggered that in the morning the edges looked worn. After two days it looked so worn and tatty. I will try again before I give up.

Just FYI for acetone removal I’ve seen some dip people do really well with putting the acetone in a plastic bag over hot water, and one lady put a big scoop of coconut oil in with the acetone and said it really mitigates the drying affect majorly while not inhibiting the removal capacity for the acetone. Just thought I would mention :)

Yeah anything that isn't 100% positive they won't respond, they also filter comments on their community page, I find that sketchy. I do however like the system, been using it for a while. The sponge imo works better and much less of a mess. I tried the brush end and it made a mess and used way too much powder. That's what happen here. I like changing mine often but if I am not feeling well, I need something that holds up. All colors apply differently too. It is a very simple system once you get used to it.

My instructions say to cure for 2 min. To apply base and top coats very thin, and I think try not to use too much powder. It looked like you put on quite a lot and all the damage around your cuticles is probably why so much powder was stuck in them. I think you're suppose to try to avoid getting it all over as much as you can. Mine came out fine but then looked cloudy. Assuming I did something wrong and will try again. A tip on removing gel or difficult polish I've found is putting castor oil or something like that on the cotton round with acetone. It lessens the drying effect of acetone and seems to make polish come off easier. Also you can get a bowl of hot water put acetone and oil in zip lock bag. Then put bag inside bowl and soak nails inside the bag. Seems to work for others. Thanks for review!

So, a tip I could possibly give, don't "brush" the pigment on, tap it on. So I will use the applicator in a tapping motion to apply the pigment. This seems to give a smoother and more uniform application of the color.

Sistaco is awesome and so easy to apply and remove, just follow the directions. The best bet is to buy a system, not individual items. All powder that gets on your skin just washes off with water. The reason to not get the base coat on your skin is so the powder does not stick to your skin and outside the natural nail. All products have to have disclaimers that say "be careful, could irritate skin". It's called CYA!

I felt a bit overwhelmed when it came and wasn't sure I'd be able to do it. I did my thumb with the classic powder and it was everything i wanted it to be. It was quick (waay quicker than waiting for regular polish to dry). It was pretty easy and for a first go the finish was nice and tidy. I'm sure when i have a bit more time to tidy up and file my nails, push the cuticles back etc they will look phenomenal ❤

I think, while this was a review, I feel you should have followed the directions given and the correct products. (The led light from the company and using the remover correctly- removing some product and then doing more product)
I got my kit yesterday and did my first set this morning. Super easy to do and came out great. The disclosure paperwork is their way to cover them selves legally for anyone who has a reaction. Every company has one. Even though this product is vegan and void of certain ingredients, in no way is anyone saying it’s “good for you”. Beauty comes with risk. Anyway, I wish you would have tried the products as they are designed and maybe given it a few tries. There is a learning curve with any of these type of products.

I’ve been using it for a year now. Warm the base and the top coat. I put hot water in a bowl and place the base and top coat. The reason it says to just put the base on the nail is because the powder will adhere everywhere. When I started using the product I would wipe of the excess with a wipe. I gently stir the powder with a toothpick before applying. There is a learning curve to get it perfect. They are coming out with an improved remover. I’m happy about it because that was the hardest part for me.

@@LolaGeekwhen you remove the colour you are supposed to leave it for 3mins BEFORE you begin to scrape it off. If you didn’t leave it long enough, only 1 minute, that’s why it won’t work properly. I don’t personal think it’s dangerous if it’s “non toxic” snd vegan…..Australia has STRICT rules about claiming false things about products, I know I live in Australia. You may get a reaction, if your sensitive, but non toxic isn’t going to make you sick….your regular nail polish would be more harmful IMO….just the fumes 😷
Also when you applied the colour you did downward strokes, I’ve ordered this product and haven’t even tried it yet, but I can see where you have done things different to others I have watched. I saw it applied in a circular motion, and EVERYONE says the first few goes you won’t get a PERFECT mani. It takes practice, just like everything. It’s clearly completely different to nail polish in a bottle.
I honesty don’t think you gave it a fair try, and so such a negative review without really trying much.
You really should persevere and try it again, and again, give the product a CHANCE ! Everyone almost says the first mani is rarely perfect. Just keep trying. Also you don’t say how long you cured for. Lots of the colours need two coats others only one, depends on the colour. You can also mix colours so you could mix your satin with a touch of the first one, it will give a completely different look.
I also read that you shouldn’t put thick coats on, less is more for all of it. For the base & top coat another woman did her nails and she sat the bottles in a bowl of warm water, it helps warm them, which then thin them down so the coat is not as thick.
Seriously…..you should give it another go, otherwise you have wasted all that money for nothing.

So what if its just mica powder? I have been using sistaco since 2020. The proof is in the customers that are satisfied. And its not a dip powder. It is like the holographic powders that the nail salons use though. Its better than dip bc its easier on your nails and easier to remove than dip powders. Dip powder is much coarser than the sistaco powders. They are beautiful and if you know how to use them correctly its worth every penny. Now, if you arent doing it right or if your nails are bumpy and in bad shape then no, it wont look perfect. I dont understand why its a "scam" by selling products that actually do what they say they are going to do??? That is not the definition of a scam.

I bought standard mixed brushes for applying lip and eye products and use them to apply the nail powders as I get a more accurate application without getting much around the cuticle and nail beds. If I do, before I apply the top coat I'll use a clean brush to brush any excess from those areas before applying the top coat then if there's still a little reside i wash it off with soap and water after my nails have cured. I will say another option is Londontown nail polishes. They also are cruelty free do not contain harmful ingredients but have botanical oils and vitamins. If you are careful with your nails the polish will last a week or longer and us removed with regular fingernail polish remover. Might check that out.

I’ve been having less than stellar success with Sistaco. Would love to be able to know what I’m doing wrong. I want to love the product, but I cannot get solid answers to my problems. Edges don’t get covered, meaning it looks instantly worn. And it chips really, really bad. Lasts a day at best. Colors are beautiful, though. Again, I want to love it, but cannot….yet.

I have no affiliation with the company. You didnt follow the application instructions very well. I just bought this kit and found it to be easy to apply, with great results. Don't be fooled, this system is not what it's hyped up to be. Chips by day 2. I've followed the instructions and even all their little tips & tricks. It's also extremely difficult and damages your nails when you remove. Worst of all, Sistaco does not stand behind their product and will never give you a refund. They heavily censor their facebook group so there is no way to get help as they block all your posts

Same happened with me. It didn’t chip but after application I was initially impressed though there were a couple of areas where the colour didn’t seem to adhere. Still it didn’t look too bad once the top coat had been applied. The trouble was in the morning the colour had worn away from the tips and by day two it was a total mess. I didn’t bother taking it off but painted over with nail polish. I’m a beauty therapist and nail tech with over 30 years experience so I know how to prep nails so it was not my bad application.

The biggest problem is that any system that uses gel polish (needs UV light curing) can potentially cause an allergic reaction. This is why it's so important to keep it off your skin. The mineral powders themselves are very unlikely to cause a reaction. Like any product, it takes practice to be able to get a good application. The colours all have some kind of sheen to them, but if you prefer the creme type then a matt topcoat should reduce the sheen. I think the Sistaco system is one of the easiest to use and remove, I also find it very durable. I don't believe people should be applying any gel polish on a weekly basis; that is damaging to the nails.

I do know that remover does work… however, you need to glop it on… not a thin layer & it will start crackling. It almost seems like some kind of real paint remover. I’m not sure how great it is for your nails, but I have used it & in fact, convinced my nail salon to buy it. It’s definitely quick removing. Put a bunch on, wait 3-5 min, then use a metal cuticle pusher to remove it.

    • @fatina6551

It's horrible for your nails. It's basically a corrosive paint stripper acid and that is why some people have allergic reactions to the product. It made my nails and cuticles very dry and it takes forever. I had to gob it on four times, waiting 5 minutes for each application to get it all off.

I'm not overly impressed by Sistaco. I bought their starter kit for $185 with added quick postage. The product didn't turn up so I emailed them....turns out they had run out of stock. The kit finally turned up and last night after following the instructions I used it. My first effort was a mess, I could not get the mineral powder to look even...it looked terrible. I felt like my nails were on fire in the LED light machine which is cheap and nasty looking and tiny. Second attempt wasn't much better, the light didnt dry the polish very well, even this morning it isnt hard. Save your money... think how much store bought nail polish you can buy for $185, and chances are that won't be made in China.

I love this system. I do think that it is meant to be used with their tools; for example, their LED light and the remover tool for removing the polish. The LED light is timed for a specific period of time so that their products cure properly. It's one of the easiest systems I've ever used, and it lasts for a long time. And as far as getting the products on your skin, I think that they emphasize it so that the polish doesn't cure on your skin and look sloppy. If that happens, I just take their removal tool along the outer edges of the nails and clean it up that way. But, it looks better and is so much easier if you wipe the base coat and top coat off your skin before curing.

With all the videos I have seen on you tube and videos from the company. The one thing that was stressed highly is the base coat and top coat should be very thin, where as you put quite a bit of base coat. You didn't put the top coat after the base, which you did the powder, and put another base coat and powder. There are very specific procedures as how to add more powder and if you look at the videos you would of have much success with it. I followed all the procedures and didn't have any problems with it. Applied a very thin coat of base, top coat then cure. Apply your power, using very little with the round sponge, then top coat again. Also people nail beds are not the same some are flat or round, rigged which needs smoothing. Damage to any nails is because they are not applied correctly. No problem with powder on the skin, it just washed off, they are referring to the base and top coats, which any brand isn't good to get on skin. I like this product and sorry you have different opiniion on this.

Try Mineral Fusion non acetone remover, it works great! Use quality nail polish brand like ILNP, Holo Taco, Mooncat, and use the quick dry top coat. It's much easier to apply, unlimited color options, and can be removed in 2 minutes tops. Plus you're not exposing your hands and nails to UV light that can cause cancer. I can get 7-10 days wear out of my Holo Taco polish with base and top coat and it's such a quick and easy process. Plus the colors are to die for and there's so much more variety compaired to Sistaco. Not to mention it's a lot cheaper.

It counterintuitively, but very clearly says *Apply the base coat and DO NOT cure, then * Apply the top coat directly onto the base coat, *THEN cure, THEN powder, THEN Top coat again, then cure.... now all these people who watched are like oh no, I'll never get that... Unfortunately, you had the base all over your cuticles so the powder stuck there and it looked bad. Also, these nail techs don't get paid a lot for nothing, they are experienced professionals. Even most of them have told me they can't do their own nails. There's a huge learning curve. I have not used this product. I'm trying to do my own with the same dip powders my salon uses but you can't get the same results yourself. It takes a lot of practice to just be okay at it.

Any product for your nails, gel, dip or whatever will have some kind of “warning”. Pretty much everything has warnings these days. It’s just because companies have to cover themselves & also lots of places have strict laws that say consumer products MUST have warnings on them, meanwhile another state/province right beside them doesn’t require it. I’m an artist & if I was worried about every warning, I would literally have no paint, markers, pens…nothing. So you really have to consider that when reading labels. Like yes- there is the possibility of reactions but if you use your brain, you can avoid most of them. But it’s not like getting some powder on your skin is going to disintegrate your whole finger. Also, I wasn’t sure why you were so concerned about wrecking your nail by redoing the first 4 fingers you tried. Why would that be a danger to your nails? if you do it properly? It seems like maybe you don’t do your nails regularly or maybe you’ve never used gel polish or anything other than vinyl air dry polish so it’s not an accurate assessment of the product when you don’t normally use those types of polish regularly. I would say your review could be good for people who are inexperienced with nail systems which use lamps or people who have only ever used air dry polish. But for people who do their own nails with UV gel this review is not going to help because they will have had a lot more experience. But usually those people will also be able to pick up on the fact that you aren’t really doing a review for experienced nail artists.

Is it another gel type thing that you cure? I'm kind of off that type of product I think..

Judging by the way you were very carefully reading the instructions at the beginning I thought you would actually follow them precisely. But you never left the removal liquid on your nail long enough for it to work properly. You rushed the job on that and started picking away at it with the orange stick way too soon. I just don’t understand why you did that I guess.

      1) Editing - I don't think anyone wants to wait and watch that happen in real time in a video 😆
      2) I'd done a test nail the day before (that's also in the video) and it did come off pretty well, so I expected a similar result the second time.
      3) In all the ads and other videos it just instantly bubbled up and the polish easily popped off, that was one of the selling points for me!

@@LolaGeek It took me 1 hour to remove. I had 3 coats of one of their colors (because its very sheer and would not get opaque). My nails were wrecked. I found Holo Taco and I'm so excited because it lasts, and with a quick dry topcoat it's dry in 5 minutes. Not to mention I don't have to worry about cancer from using the UV lamp (yes the LED lamp does emit UV radiation).
