Great idea fitting a Tachometer to the Lathe. Even comes in handy to use as a load meter for the spindle speed under load. I have a Manual Mill that is also fitted with the same thing which was on the machine when i purchased it. It runs a variable speed spindle, so it definitely comes in handy to know what the spindle is running at.
Thank you for your comment. Yes for metalworking it is even more important to know what rpm the tool is running. I think this little unit can also display voltage and temperature.
