Actually, Group A Studio, the original performers of this song were the ones on stage with him. The pianist is the composer of this song. Obviously the song had to be "re arranged a little bit" to accommodate Dimash. At the end of the video Dimash show his respects for the band and congratulates them.

Dimash always amazes us. Sinful Passion was originally written and performed in 1998 by a Russian-based Kazakh band called A-Studio. They accompanied him for this performance. At the end of the performance, Dimash humbly thanked A-Studio. The gentleman in white who gave him a standing ovation is Igor Krutoy, a famous Russian composer, who's written several amazing songs for Dimash. The interesting vocal style Dimash used towards the end of the song is called a vocal trill which is a classical technique and is the least familiar of the vocal manoeuvers. A singer with an even, rapid trill is a rarity. The director of the Rossini Opera Festival, Alberto Zedda has opined in an interview that the "widespread technical deficiency", the inability to trill, is a source of "frustration and anguish". Dimash modified the traditional vocal trill by adding a Yakuti yodel technique to it and he did it to perfection. It’s wonderful that he’s introduced this classical technique into a pop song for the benefit of the non-classical world.
I believe this is about when Igor Krutoy became familiar with Dimash and came out of retirement specifically to work with our Beloved Diko. I never tire of his early videos when I first discovered him, but witnessing him evolve over the years has been pure joy. Every new release is like Christmas. He really does make each Dear feel special with such great gifts delivered by such a warm soul.

I really am enjoying your reactions. I am always amazed by Dimash. The first time I heard him sing was the performance of SOS on the Chinese talent show called The Singer. I felt as though I had witnessed something so out of this world. Enjoyed your reaction, but like others have said, I was really hoping you would watch until the end. Dimash ALWAYS acknowledges the other artists on stage, and in this video he gave even more thanks and acknowledgement. As a musician, I was hoping you would have watched and seen that. Also, Dimash really cares about the music, not just the vocals. He is getting his doctorate in composition. If you listen to more of his songs, you will almost always hear complex and interesting arrangements. There are many songs of his I would suggest, but I think you would enjoy the traditional instrumentation in the song Samaltau performed for the online Tokyo Jazz Festival . Dimash has so many songs all are worth a watch and listen. My favourites change over time, but at the moment it's Daybreak.. Please react to 2 versions, first from I am Singer 2017 in China, use the Gloria Wu version to get the backstory, which is crucial for this particular song.. Second, the performance from his stupendous Bastau concert.. This is one of the greatest vocal achievements I've ever seen! It's really jawdroppingly brilliant! In todays world what we need now is a reminder of the effects of war, and DIMASH's "War and Peace" Kiev 2020, is a great version to react to. Dimash's humanity had him compose this song when he was around 19 years old and had Chinese lyrics done to his supervision, but the "dears" worked hard to make English lyrics that are built into a clip of his concert performance in Kiev and makes this song EPIC. The band also does the best in that clip.
The keyboard player composed this song and the band playing with him, A-Studio are the band who had a hit with the song in 1998. When you listen to the original though, it’s totally different to this performance of the song. Dimash’s best friend does all of his arrangements (with input from Dimash, of course, as well).

Igor Krutoy, the man in white shirt giving his standing ovation, invited Dimash to participate in this festival in the same year. "Sinful Passion" was created in 1998. This is how the song was performed, exactly in the 20th anniversary of this song. It speaks of greater love, greater loss, greater despair, greater desire, greater passion. The loss or lack of this love, in Dimash's interpretation, has the dimension of a loss of life, which one is very anxious to restore. In place of the original purely pop instrumental part (inserts), Dimash included (after the last chorus) his vocalize, a stylized onomatopoeic (like a lament) eastern ornament and the words "дай мне, дай" (give me, give me) with a 23-second melismatic on the last syllable, which is not a simple substitute for a pop musical theme, but an extension of the story sung earlier in words. ❤️🎤🔝🌹🌹👏👏👏 Please react to Stranger!!!
Dimash rearranged, composed the end parts and produced the song himself. The Band A Studio invited Dimash to perform for their 20th Anniversary and the song was once again a hit for them. Dimash is a highly educated and experienced musician and he is still in education. He has been studying music since the age of 5, at present he is studying for his PhD in Musicology. For his Masters in Composition he achieved the highest possible score of 100% with honours 🎖 the final long runs that you unfortunately talked over were done on one breath, it was 24 seconds long
The hypnotic Middle Eastern/West Asian segment is from that area around Kazakhstan, so Dimash grew up with it. It is a funeral lament that he wanted to include to honor the band playing with him here--"A-Studio"--lead singer who had passed away several years earlier at an early age. (As others have stated, the song was composed by the keyboardist.) This kind of singing goes by many names: melisma, ululation, glottal stop, goat trilling, and joqtaw (also spelled zhoktau), just to name a few.
The original version of this song was COMPLETELY different, it was a little pop ditty, not even the same genre of music. Even though the gorgeous lyrics were the same, their intense, romantic message was virtually lost (IMO) to the casual musical arrangement. By reworking the song completely, Dimash created an arrangement in which the music, and vocal techniques he employs to perform it, reflect the song's meaning. If you listen to the original, you'll be even more surprised at Dimash's cover. Credit goes to all 3 parties--Dimash, his musical arranger, and Group A Studios.

His name is Igor Krutoy, a very famous Russian composer and pianist who was retired. When he saw Dimash, he decided he needed to come out of retirement just to write and play piano for Dimash. You will end up seeing him in a lot of his later videos. I would love to see you react to Stranger, but first react to the older version, not the 2021 redo, so you can compare the original to the newer version, which only got incredibly better!!

Just go to his official UA-cam channel Dimash Qudaibergen and watch from this point forward this was his first performance on the Chinese show "Singer" from 2017 he was 22 years old. This was another very enjoyable reaction. This was his 2018 guest performance at the New Wave competition held annually since 2002 at the New Wave Hall in Sochi Olympic Park. FYI, Dimash did not win “The Voice” in China. He took part in an invite-only competition in 2017 for established professional and successful singers, which is called “I Am A Singer.” The competition consists of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months, and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live, and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. Dimash finished the competition in 2nd place. The band A-Studio is originally from Kazakhstan. The keyboard player, Baigali Serkebaev, composed the song together with the poet Ilia Reznik, and the song was first performed in 1998. The singer of the group A-Studio passed away in 2015, and in this concert, the group was backing up guest vocalists. The triangle man is multi-percussionist Ilya Pokrovsky, a very talented man and a close friend of Dimash and member of the Dimash team (DQ Team). He plays various percussion instruments and accompanies Dimash in all his concerts. Someone explained that the special tribal riff is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and other parts of Asia. A similar technique is also used in some parts of the Middle East. It is referred to by some as a "glottal stop". We use it too when we say "uh oh". A Kazakh UA-camr commented that Dimash used a Kazakh singing technique, called 'komeymen aytu'. You can hear it among the Turan Group. Sakha people use this technique too; they call it 'kylyhah'. I read somewhere that the tribal vocalization was a tribute to the deceased singer, as it is similar to a technique usually used by women in Kazakh funeral ceremonies. This competition was organized by the man in the white shirt who stood up in the first row, Billionaire Igor Krutoy, a famous Ukrainian and Russian music composer, performer, producer, and musical promoter. He invited Dimash to perform and it was this performance that prompted him to come out of retirement and compose masterpieces for Dimash to sing, such as I Miss You, Ogni Pietra, Your Love, Stranger, and Ave Maria, just to name a few. Since this concert, he has been collaborating with Dimash, writing music with his vocal range in mind, and often accompanying him on the piano. So you'll see more of him. There is another performance of this song of one of his more recent concerts. It is as good or better because you can hear certain parts clearer and the camera stays on him most of the time. You have still barely even begun to scratch the surface of Dimash's talent and ability. He has continued to hone his skills and to fine-tune and perfect his already unbelievable abilities even more. There does not seem to be a limit to what he can achieve vocally. I am excited to follow his journey. Dimash will possibly go down in history as the greatest vocal talent known to man. I cannot think of anyone, past or present, capable of doing what Dimash is capable of. I am still waiting on someone to name a single individual even remotely close to Dimash's mastery. Every song he sings he gives his all and always "performs". Even if you don't understand the words you will get the emotion he portrays. And so far you have reacted to his older work, when he was 21-22ish. He's 27 now and has improved even from this. He is scary talented. If you pursue listening to him, you are in for a treat.
I have just discovered your channel, because of Dimash, and noticed so far that you have done reactions to,IMO,two of the three best singers in the world today in Dimash & Morissette. The third been Sohyang from S.Korea. In terms of vocals, where Dimash is referred to as ‘the king’, Sohyang is regarded as many to be his ‘queen’. I really recommend you watch at least one performance by her to at least give her one chance to impress you, after which I am confident that you will be wanting more. I would suggest that for your first step into the amazing world of Sohyang you start off with her rendition of a song that I am sure you are already familiar with, and a performance that has been the starting point for many many Sohyang admirers ( it was one of the earliest performances available on UA-cam when people started to become aware of her) & that is her performance of ‘bridge over troubled water’ on the show ‘ immortal songs’. You may have to put a filter over the video or take breaks etc as KBS have become stricter with copyright etc but I realise it can be dependent on whether it’s blocked in the country you are in etc, but I’m not a reactor so I don’t know in detail the do’s/dont’s of makin a reaction video etc, all I see is that the more people are becoming aware of Sohyang, the more video’s seem to have filters etc. Finally, just to point out that another reason for suggesting this particular performance to you is that is that as I assume that you are familiar with the original, this will give you a chance to not only take in Sohyang’s amazing voice & performance qualities, it will give you an insight in to her remarkable talents at arrangements ( Sohyang is responsible for the arrangement of the songs she performs. Not only is she talented in these area’s, but she is a songwriter, published author & university lecturer by day) I hope you enjoy!
Actually, Group A Studio, the original performers of this song were the ones on stage with him. The pianist is the composer of this song. Obviously the song had to be "re arranged a little bit" to accommodate Dimash. At the end of the video Dimash show his respects for the band and congratulates them.

Yeah, A Studio’s song. They played behind him. The part you said was cool was a tribute to the lead singer of the band who sang the song and has passed away. It’s called Joqtaw. Dimash always amazes us. Sinful Passion was originally written and performed in 1998 by a Russian-based Kazakh band called A-Studio. They accompanied him for this performance. At the end of the performance, Dimash humbly thanked A-Studio.
The gentleman in white who gave him a standing ovation is Igor Krutoy, a famous Russian composer, who's written several amazing songs for Dimash.
The interesting vocal style Dimash used towards the end of the song is called a vocal trill which is a classical technique and is the least familiar of the vocal manoeuvers. A singer with an even, rapid trill is a rarity. The director of the Rossini Opera Festival, Alberto Zedda has opined in an interview that the "widespread technical deficiency", the inability to trill, is a source of "frustration and anguish".
Dimash modified the traditional vocal trill by adding a Yakuti yodel technique to it and he did it to perfection. It’s wonderful that he’s introduced this classical technique into a pop song for the benefit of the non-classical world.
I believe this is about when Igor Krutoy became familiar with Dimash and came out of retirement specifically to work with our Beloved Diko.
I never tire of his early videos when I first discovered him, but witnessing him evolve over the years has been pure joy. Every new release is like Christmas. He really does make each Dear feel special with such great gifts delivered by such a warm soul.

I really am enjoying your reactions. I am always amazed by Dimash. The first time I heard him sing was the performance of SOS on the Chinese talent show called The Singer. I felt as though I had witnessed something so out of this world. Enjoyed your reaction, but like others have said, I was really hoping you would watch until the end. Dimash ALWAYS acknowledges the other artists on stage, and in this video he gave even more thanks and acknowledgement. As a musician, I was hoping you would have watched and seen that. Also, Dimash really cares about the music, not just the vocals. He is getting his doctorate in composition. If you listen to more of his songs, you will almost always hear complex and interesting arrangements. There are many songs of his I would suggest, but I think you would enjoy the traditional instrumentation in the song Samaltau performed for the online Tokyo Jazz Festival . Dimash has so many songs all are worth a watch and listen. My favourites change over time, but at the moment it's Daybreak.. Please react to 2 versions, first from I am Singer 2017 in China, use the Gloria Wu version to get the backstory, which is crucial for this particular song.. In todays world what we need now is a reminder of the effects of war, and DIMASH's "War and Peace" Kiev 2020, is a great version to react to. Dimash's humanity had him compose this song when he was around 19 years old and had Chinese lyrics done to his supervision, but the "dears" worked hard to make English lyrics that are built into a clip of his concert performance in Kiev and makes this song EPIC. The band also does the best in that clip.

The keyboard player composed this song and the band playing with him, A-Studio are the band who had a hit with the song in 1998. When you listen to the original though, it’s totally different to this performance of the song. Dimash’s best friend does all of his arrangements (with input from Dimash, of course, as well).

Igor Krutoy, the man in white shirt giving his standing ovation, invited Dimash to participate in this festival in the same year. "Sinful Passion" was created in 1998. This is how the song was performed, exactly in the 20th anniversary of this song. It speaks of greater love, greater loss, greater despair, greater desire, greater passion. The loss or lack of this love, in Dimash's interpretation, has the dimension of a loss of life, which one is very anxious to restore. In place of the original purely pop instrumental part (inserts), Dimash included (after the last chorus) his vocalize, a stylized onomatopoeic (like a lament) eastern ornament and the words "дай мне, дай" (give me, give me) with a 23-second melismatic on the last syllable, which is not a simple substitute for a pop musical theme, but an extension of the story sung earlier in words. ❤️🎤🔝🌹🌹👏👏👏

Dimash rearranged, composed the end parts and produced the song himself. The Band A Studio invited Dimash to perform for their 20th Anniversary and the song was once again a hit for them. Dimash is a highly educated and experienced musician and he is still in education. He has been studying music since the age of 5, at present he is studying for his PhD in Musicology. For his Masters in Composition he achieved the highest possible score of 100% with honours 🎖 the final long runs that you unfortunately talked over were done on one breath, it was 24 seconds long

The hypnotic Middle Eastern/West Asian segment is from that area around Kazakhstan, so Dimash grew up with it. It is a funeral lament that he wanted to include to honor the band playing with him here--"A-Studio"--lead singer who had passed away several years earlier at an early age. (As others have stated, the song was composed by the keyboardist.) This kind of singing goes by many names: melisma, ululation, glottal stop, goat trilling, and joqtaw (also spelled zhoktau), just to name a few.

The original version of this song was COMPLETELY different, it was a little pop ditty, not even the same genre of music. Even though the gorgeous lyrics were the same, their intense, romantic message was virtually lost (IMO) to the casual musical arrangement. By reworking the song completely, Dimash created an arrangement in which the music, and vocal techniques he employs to perform it, reflect the song's meaning. If you listen to the original, you'll be even more surprised at Dimash's cover. Credit goes to all 3 parties--Dimash, his musical arranger, and Group A Studios.

His name is Igor Krutoy, a very famous Russian composer and pianist who was retired. When he saw Dimash, he decided he needed to come out of retirement just to write and play piano for Dimash. You will end up seeing him in a lot of his later videos. This was another very enjoyable reaction. This was his 2018 guest performance at the New Wave competition held annually since 2002 at the New Wave Hall in Sochi Olympic Park. FYI, Dimash did not win “The Voice” in China. He took part in an invite-only competition in 2017 for established professional and successful singers, which is called “I Am A Singer.” The competition consists of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months, and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live, and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. Dimash finished the competition in 2nd place.
The band A-Studio is originally from Kazakhstan. The keyboard player, Baigali Serkebaev, composed the song together with the poet Ilia Reznik, and the song was first performed in 1998. The singer of the group A-Studio passed away in 2015, and in this concert, the group was backing up guest vocalists. The triangle man is multi-percussionist Ilya Pokrovsky, a very talented man and a close friend of Dimash and member of the Dimash team (DQ Team). He plays various percussion instruments and accompanies Dimash in all his concerts.
Someone explained that the special tribal riff is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and other parts of Asia. A similar technique is also used in some parts of the Middle East. It is referred to by some as a "glottal stop". We use it too when we say "uh oh". A Kazakh UA-camr commented that Dimash used a Kazakh singing technique, called 'komeymen aytu'. You can hear it among the Turan Group. Sakha people use this technique too; they call it 'kylyhah'. I read somewhere that the tribal vocalization was a tribute to the deceased singer, as it is similar to a technique usually used by women in Kazakh funeral ceremonies.
This competition was organized by the man in the white shirt who stood up in the first row, Billionaire Igor Krutoy, a famous Ukrainian and Russian music composer, performer, producer, and musical promoter. He invited Dimash to perform and it was this performance that prompted him to come out of retirement and compose masterpieces for Dimash to sing, such as I Miss You, Ogni Pietra, Your Love, Stranger, and Ave Maria, just to name a few. Since this concert, he has been collaborating with Dimash, writing music with his vocal range in mind, and often accompanying him on the piano. So you'll see more of him.
There is another performance of this song of one of his more recent concerts. It is as good or better because you can hear certain parts clearer and the camera stays on him most of the time. You’ve reviewed 3 covers (though he’s made the interpretations his own) so far. As a songwriter your thoughts on his more recent original works would be interesting. You know his range now… what about his compositions? He wrote his first original piece at 17 (Unforgettable Day, Gakku version), and his most recent collaborations with Igor Krutoy are amazing (I miss you, Stranger, Fly Away, Ogni Pietra, many more), his Michael Jackson inspired original (Give me your love), his music videos (Screaming, Give me Love)…. So much content you could give a unique perspective on!

You have still barely even begun to scratch the surface of Dimash's talent and ability. He has continued to hone his skills and to fine-tune and perfect his already unbelievable abilities even more. There does not seem to be a limit to what he can achieve vocally. I am excited to follow his journey. Dimash will possibly go down in history as the greatest vocal talent known to man. I cannot think of anyone, past or present, capable of doing what Dimash is capable of. I am still waiting on someone to name a single individual even remotely close to Dimash's mastery.
If you want to follow Dimash's career progression over the last five years, here is a song list I usually recommend in semi-chronological order. Then there is the release from the 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival of "Ikanaide," which is absolutely incredible. He sings in almost flawless Japanese. Avoid any performance from "The World's Best" show/competition. The producers' conduct was disgraceful and unprofessional, and all performances were cut and edited to make room for commercials.

Every song he sings he gives his all and always "performs". Even if you don't understand the words you will get the emotion he portrays. And so far you have reacted to his older work, when he was 21-22ish. He's 27 now and has improved even from this. He is scary talented. If you pursue listening to him, you are in for a treat.
I have just discovered your channel, because of Dimash, and noticed so far that you have done reactions to,IMO,two of the three best singers in the world today in Dimash & Morissette. The third been Sohyang from S.Korea. In terms of vocals, where Dimash is referred to as ‘the king’, Sohyang is regarded as many to be his ‘queen’.
I really recommend you watch at least one performance by her to at least give her one chance to impress you, after which I am confident that you will be wanting more.
I would suggest that for your first step into the amazing world of Sohyang you start off with her rendition of a song that I am sure you are already familiar with, and a performance that has been the starting point for many many Sohyang admirers ( it was one of the earliest performances available on UA-cam when people started to become aware of her) & that is her performance of ‘bridge over troubled water’ on the show ‘ immortal songs’. You may have to put a filter over the video or take breaks etc as KBS have become stricter with copyright etc but I realise it can be dependent on whether it’s blocked in the country you are in etc, but I’m not a reactor so I don’t know in detail the do’s/dont’s of makin a reaction video etc, all I see is that the more people are becoming aware of Sohyang, the more video’s seem to have filters etc.
Finally, just to point out that another reason for suggesting this particular performance to you is that is that as I assume that you are familiar with the original, this will give you a chance to not only take in Sohyang’s amazing voice & performance qualities, it will give you an insight in to her remarkable talents at arrangements ( Sohyang is responsible for the arrangement of the songs she performs. Not only is she talented in these area’s, but she is a songwriter, published author & university lecturer by day)
