      I really like mine, so much so I picked up a second, and did a video on it too, lol. I know there are a few people out there who have had problems with theirs, and that sucks for the brand. For me though, I don't see myself letting them go.
      Thanks for the comment.

    I grabbed one of these because the price was unbeatable, and I'm very happy with it. TruGlow Red dot sight added. I've cycled about 150 rounds of all types, including 1 box of 3" coyote loads in BB size, without a single failure to feed or fire.

      NICE!! I liked the one in the video so much I picked up their tactical version as well. Both needed a good cleaning and a few loads to break them in, but since that they've been solid!
      Thanks for watching and enjoy that shotgun!!

    Enjoyed the video . I like the way you demonstrated their gun. The gun seems to deliver rounds smoothly. Killing the target was hilarious. I am seriously considering buying the 601 with the 28 inch barrel.

      lol, most of the time I'll put the Storm Troopers to shame. I have a bad habit of not going through a new gun before I cycle rounds through it other than some dummy test rounds. It's bitten me more times than I can remember.

    Mine cycles well. Low recoil slugs and buck. However the trigger pin walks out and the buttstock came loose. Velcro side saddle and some loc tite fixed the issues. Good shotgun for $200 bucks.

    Shoot about 500 rounds of magnum loads, then check the inside of the receiver where the bolt carrier travels back into the receiver, I bet your opinion changes. Currently have one setting in the corner gathering dust. The bolt carrier slams into the receiver and makes one heck of a gouge in the receiver, ruining the gun. Shells won’t fully chamber, also the over travel allowed the bolt pin to fall down and the carrier bent it on the chambering of rounds. The guns are junk.

    • @citizenpew
      @citizenpew  Рік тому +2

      What seems to be a common theme with budget priced firearms is the quality of material. Even when manufactured very well they will wear a lot faster than higher priced firearms which use better alloy. I'm not surprised after 500 magnum rounds this gun started to give out. For longevity I probably wont shoot any more magnum rounds through it, for me it's a fun, inexpensive, semi-auto shotgun; yet I would say it's reliable enough using standard slugs to be effective if this is all someone can afford at the time.
      Great comment!! I always like to hear other peoples experience with firearms I have, sorry your experience is so bad; hopefully you have found something that can handle magnum rounds better.
      Thanks for watching!!

      CD sales a pistol grip version with an extended tube, I didn't know about it when I purchased my 601, from what I've read the parts are interchangeable between the two CD models. The bad thing is, looks like all those parts are out of stock on CD website.

    I had trouble finding mine listed also and I have noticed I have a round bolt release button and most I see are square. I have had some problems with this fierarm with failure to feed and fire after a gas ring popped out of place it looked like to me after a range day disassembly and inspection, It wont be a gun I depend on in a serious situation. I picked mine up for $225 and it was my first semi-auto. I have many much more expensive and nicer pump shotguns but wanted to start to get into semi-auto and the price point was right.

    • @citizenpew
      @citizenpew  2 роки тому +1

      I've seen some of the round bolt release buttons verses the square, I looked into that just a bit and all I found was a couple blogs talking about how many manufacturers use third party gas systems and actions in their semiauto shotguns. I wonder if at some time they may have switched manufacturers and went with different internals. Mine has the square button; I've heard mostly good things about this shotgun, but it wouldn't surprise me if at some time they changed suppliers.
      I will say I had a ton of manufacturing debris in mine, I had to completely take it down to get it all out. They may have some QC issues at their plants. It is a great price to get into semi-auto shotguns, but even with the success I've had with mine, I still haven't, and probably wont make it part of my personal/self defense line.
      Best of luck with yours and thanks for watching the video!

    • @citizenpew
      @citizenpew  Рік тому +1

      I sure do!! On the stock there is a sling attachment, unscrew that and the rubber end of the stock will come off. Look inside the stock and you'll see a nut, you'll need a socket and a long extension to get to it. Tighten up that nut and then put the rubber piece back on and re-install the sling attachment screw.

      I haven't had a problem at all with it since I made the video. Charles Daly does offer an alternate mag tube cap with pic rails on it but it's been out of stock on their website for some time now, there are third party clamp on rails I've seen, but I haven't had the best of luck with those personally. As far as extended mag tube, I've seen on forums people talk that one exists but I haven't been able to verify that.

    Why do you close the bolt before loading the magazine just to have to cycle one in the action to load five? Just drop one in the open bolt and save yourself a step.

    • @citizenpew
      @citizenpew  2 роки тому

      That day I had someone at the range with me, so in the event I did set the firearm down or hand it to them after a take, I always put it in the safest state I can, it's a habit I formed many years ago. It does add extra steps when I tryout different rounds back to back of course.
      Good question though!!

    • @Weptek911
      @Weptek911 2 роки тому +1

      @@citizenpew sorry, that came across a little harsher than I intended. Respectfully, a bolt locked open on an empty chamber is a safer condition than bolt closed. Other my previous comments that was a good review and very informative.

    • @citizenpew
      @citizenpew  2 роки тому

      In most cases I agree, and if I was handing it straight over to someone to use following me that would be the case, but often I hand it to them to store. When I'm filming I don't always see what is happening off scene, so the extra noise if someone pulls back the bolt to load a shell gives me a little more time to react. Not that I think anyone who joins me to the range would have ill intent, but I am the one responsible for the firearm.
      I didn't take the comment harshly, it was a valid point, and I'm always open to safer practices.

    • @citizenpew
      @citizenpew  2 роки тому

      After some more thought, I probably need to put together some form of range etiquette for when I have people with me while I film videos as it is occurring more frequently now.
      That's what's great about comments like yours, gives me something to reflect on and challenge myself with.
      Thanks!!

      I've seen a few more videos since I posted mine of people having the same issue with makes and models not showing up on the website, that might be why it's down for maintenance.

Perhaps the way cost was driven down was by reducing quality control.

    the ONLY way anybody could think this is an “Awesome” shotgun is if they bought it and put it in the corner to look at. Absolute piece of garbage. We had two of them….won at a raffle. The first fired one shot and then never fired again. The trigger would not reset. The second one fired about 25 rounds before the buttstock started to come loose. Avoid this piece of garbage at all costs. Notice he says there was “debris” in the firearm from the manufacturing process, but them blames himself for not cleaning it out. Zero excuses for “debris” left behind from manufacturing.
