@@hitthere7722 For sure. It makes it so the partners still have some personality input far after their story presence. The Trails franchise has (starting from the final chapter of the first game) party selection that is partially optional and every piece of dialogue, main quest or side quest and sometimes even random NPCs, is adapted depending on who's there. And not the simple stuff where you can tell that the character's line is replaceable, but just a wholly different conversation depending on what the people present know and don't know about the situation, or when they're talking with someone particularly important to them. It's the ProZD skit "If only my brother could see me now", and you haven't brought him along for the fight.
@@tuvillo Alright now *that* is pretty cool Your original comment came off as like "Oh yeah, well they did it better in Trails", but yeah no that is way cooler, and way more time consuming (And probably expensive, depending on how much was voice acted)
Tbh the part where Bowser meets the guy with the Life Size Peach poster Its kinda interesting how he unwittingly met the one Koopa that's the most like himself. A kindred spirit if you will.
The remake adds SO MANY quality of life updates to this game. As a kid, I never beat this game on the gamecube because I didn't want to do all that backtracking that you have to do near the end, but with the added pipes in the remake it's a lot less of a hassle.
Remake pros: -Increased paper aesthetic from recent Paper Mario games. -"Voice acting" for all the characters that they even keep doing in Brothership. -Goated remixed soundtrack -If you prefer the original soundtrack, there's a free badge that includes it -Vivian's trans rep is restored and even more direct -Auto save block -Easier backtracking Remake cons: -No "End of Chapter" text smh
I agree, the agressive "end of chapter" text was missed, but there is so much good that was done, incredible remake. Also, the supergard being slightly easier made styling on bosses so funny.
This game is peak; it has a low skill threshold for noobies with enough tech and challenge for those willing to seek it out, with an incredibly simple yet robust system for combat. It is the gem of turn based RPGs. Not to mention the side characters that you just can't help but fall in love with, like with 64, the companions were okay but were very generic...here though, you get some great glimpses of personalities and desires and dreams in short bursts, just enough for people to fill in the blanks with their own headcanon but enough to sate you and fall in love with. I adore this game ever since I first popped it into my Gamecube. Its a masterpiece.
@@Pr0zimity OH NO! Let's see....yes, mmhmm...yes...good... Whew, thanks, I've checked, I'm still a nerd. I really need to schedule these checks more often.
Recently 100% this remake after just a week of playing. It was my first time completing the entire game, and I played it for the first time when I was 7 years old. My favorite part of this game has to be the Chapter 5 boss. Cortez is such an entertaining character, and I love that the remake made him full spanish rather than just saying "amigo" every other sentence.
I am very sorry for the bots. I genuinely like how this game looks as well! The only Paper Mario I've ever played is Color Splash, and I loved it! So I'm always eager for more Paper Mario!
I literally could not finish the game because it was 17 blocks and my memory card was 16. So I didn't get to actually beat it until I emulated it in highschool. Now the remake is the definitive way for me to play
Just as an FYI, basically all of the dialogue changes are to bring it closer to the japanese dialogue, yes japan had a more overtly trans Vivian for 20 years
Alpha saying the final boss at 2:34:45 changed his brain chemistry is soooooo real like. It really changed mine too. This game is so wonderful. I'm glad it got a remake!!! Its such a great game!
Hooktail fearing crickets was one of many cases of Nintendo undoing changes they made for the western release of thousand year door. If i'm not mistaken, originally, it was frogs. The badge noise is from a japanese species of frog which us westerners wouldn't really recognize as a frog sound. So they changed the dialogue to crickets! And then they undid it for the remake xd
YYEEEEESSSSS!!! I LOVE all the little details they added into this game -- the extra animated poses for everyone, the fact everyone actually has backsides to them, adding the original music alongside the new remixes with a super cheap and easy Badge, giving each of the Partners their own theme songs, Vivian getting to show her true colors, the Art and Sound Galleries, even the little voice chirps giving everyone that little bit more characterization. There's so much more that can be said, but the game really just speaks for itself.
The original Paper Mario and Thousand year door were the first two games I completed. My Auntie had me for 2 weeks as a kid and she decided that sitting down and completing the two together was a great use of time. These two games hold a really deep place in my heart so excited to watch this supercut! Edit: I’ve completed this game so many times and never knew the yoshi could change colours. How did I not notice this?!
Yeah I think the remake was perfect. Thank GOD they got rid of the back and forth bs to Creepy Steeple by adding a pipe. And then changing the fast travel pipes to 1 hub with a pipe in the town square. These changes alone made the game so much better to play. Edit: You know you can get your stolen coins back right?
I love that extra pipe. The last 2 walks through the forest didn’t add anything to the chapter, so cutting out those specifically was such a smart choice.
To me this game is absolute cinema. I grew up playing it with my Dad, learning to love the characters, corny jokes, and amazing story telling. I look back on that season of my life where I got to play the GameCube with my Dad as some of the absolute best, so this remake truly meant a lot to me.
I can't over state how much I love Jacob Alpharad supercuts, first time viewing is always a pleasure and they're always perfect comfort content to come back to
Wait a minute Island nation Red dragon eats someone’s relative Monsters drop edible items Ancient city buried beneath the earth to imprison a demon This is Delicious in Dungeon
So i know Paper Mario's limbs are meant to be animated as separate assets, but like... you can SEE THAT here! His limbs LOOK detached from his body, and i love it!

I remember this game SOOOO fondly, the remake was absolutely peak. Still sad they changed the final screens in each chapter, there was something magical about every letter of “END OF CHAPTER” being punched into the screen, like we were following along some kind of tale or story…
Two fun things about chapter four! First, if you go into the mayor's house, Doopliss and Co are in there enjoying a meal. Talking to some of the partners reveals that they think it's odd that Mario's talking so much, but eh whatever maybe he just likes these guys. Second, if you talk to Battle Master Toad, he says he doesn't recognize you and asks for your name. When he's told you can't answer he just says "well, I guess I'll call you nameless frank." And proceeds to call you nameless frank anytime he is supposed to say mario.
I can’t believe I had to hear you ask “why do they be smooshing Mario?” Dude’s a hero, a legend, a kind soul, Vivian even changed sides cause he’s got that gold heart, it’s hard for them girls to not wanna kiss him Also if you didn’t see it, there’s a detail where Vivian literally smiles when she pulls Mario into the shadows but frowns when she has to let him out, truly the sign of someone who knows who their heart yearns for
My friend gave me his copy of this game a month before he passed away from a seizure. I still haven't finished it, but I really should for his memory. Fantastic game
As a kid with a wii in a country that did not have the best gaming press when I was growing up ("Nerdy games" were barely covered in spain, mostly soccer titles and FPS got the attention in schools and magazines, making it so that I never knew what was what), I always had a interest in the paper mario games. 64 was out of reach for me in the Wii because I did not have a pro controller, and my parents would not buy one; Same for Thousand year door. But through the unlikely medium of... Poorly made flash games, I made an attachment. I wanted to play Thousand year door. I knew all it had to offer, always so tantalizingly close; Finding ways to emulate it but it wouldn't pan out right, finding ways to play it on my wii but having issues- Until to that day. It was announced for the Switch. I have never preordered a game faster, not 100%ed it. The new content is wonderful, the old content is as great as I imagined, and finally, FINALLY, I got to have the adventure I always dreamed of as a kid. That's why this game is important to me and why I fully support this supercut. Keep em' coming, Alpha. I like these kind of more emotional gaming stories, so if anyone wants to share their own attachment under my comment, It would be great to read. Human connections are important 'yall
15:04 That implies that Koopley was able to get Hooktail down to her last phase, in a straight 1v1 with no partners. And since the badge was in the dungeons instead of with him, it implies he did so without the Frog Sfx badge either. Turns out, bro is a gamer.
Its insane that vivian is a thing that just. Exists. Having a character in a Mario game of all things just randomly go "oh by the way I'm trans" is so cool
And the best part is that it's NEVER mentioned again after that one part and the story goes as normal The only ones making a big deal out of it (like in the bad way, I mean) aren't even the characters in-game and I love this game for it (among other stuff)

I hope that this game will warrant a remake of super paper Mario that’s honestly my favourite just because of all the fun characters, I love to see them return
Yesssss Super Paper Mario would definitely be deserving of a remake! All the unique worlds, the perspective flipping, the drama of the plot and love story-!
I don't know why but I love the fact that the second the writing team realized they're protecting the trans rights they went: "you know what, screw it, let's add some more gay stuff because why not?"
At his suggestion to explain why its so special to me. This game was the first RPG I felt like I was good at, I had tried several when I was younger but this game was the perfect mix of difficult and easy to get me hooked. To help me understand builds and customization. It taught me to love learning about the characters, exploration, and trying everything on the way to the end. This is my favorite RPG of all time, maybe not perfect but its one I constantly go back to.
I never played this one growing up and when I love a game,(the original paper mario) I get stubborn and make excuses to not like a game more but this game was extremely fun and became my favourite. I definitely get the hype for it.
This is a fantastic video! I genuinely love your Supercuts - the editing is great and keeps in all the cool bits without a lot of grinding. Also, thanks for playing along with all the story twist. I know you did it ironically, but it made it much more enjoyable for sometime going into the video blind.
My parents had a SNES before I was born. That's what I grew up playing. My parents ended up divorcing at a certain point, and my dad now on his own bought a Gamecube. When I'd visit him he'd let me play it, before eventually giving it to me. The first game that I played on it (and thereby also being the first game I ever played on something above whatever PC we had in 2003, a GBA, and the SNES) was Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. A game he'd already started himself. That reveal trailer was the first time a reveal made me actually get teary eyed from being so emotional. A remake of a game that was so pivotal to me and my childhood, one that I still replay to this day, and one that is *this good?* Are you *kidding me?* I just wish my dad was still here to see it with me. I was grinning ear to ear the entire playthrough. I felt like a kid again, even though I still already knew where pretty much everything was. What an incredible game that I really hope leads to more original titles like this from the Paper Mario series.
Didn't play this game till the remake this year and now It's genuinely one of my favourite Mario games of all time everything about it is so good fun music, great battle system, fantastic characters yeah this right here is peak Paper Mario
I always love it when one of my favorite UA-camrs uploads a multiple hour long video. Just chilling and binging them at night is one of my favorite things to do :3
Definitely would love to see a playthrough of Super Paper Mario on the channel. Thousand Year Door is definitely my favorite gameplay wise, but I just love Super's story
1:01:16 I had NO IDEA that this fight even existed, never came to my mind to attack the friendly boos, I just avoided them. Maybe I just forgot it, but it's the first time i'm seeing this, amazing !!
So to explain why this game is important to me, well, it's one of the first core memories that I have with a game. I'd played other games before as a kid, sure, but none of them really sucked me in like Thousand Year Door did. Heck, it engrossed me even though I wasn't the one playing, my brother was! It was just that magical of an experience! I remember Twilight Town being my favorite area to look at, and Vivian being one of my favorite characters because I thought she was really cool as a kid (and, looking back, I find it funny that she might've been my first way of realizing I was trans lmao, I always wished I could be as cool as she was for being a good person despite bad circumstances). Cortez was also awesome, the entire game and the story it tells are really wonderful, and while I don't have as great relations with my brother anymore, I'm still glad we got to go on this journey once. Also, as a really weird one, the toybox me and my brother would store our games in was made of cedar wood or something, and the smell of that type of wood legitimately smacks me in the face with nostalgia. Just... just a one of a kind type of game, for me anyways.
I LOVE LUIGI!!! this game is so good the music literally makes me cry and hit the fattest jig of all time at the same time. Hooray for originality!!!! THIS GAME IS SO GOOD
when i was small, my sister thought it would be fun to play ttyd on our wii while my brother and i watched, not in like a mean spirited "you can't have the wii today" way, it was just fun to watch her play. i have so many silly memories from when we did that, even though i was young enough to where twilight town made me freak out and run out of the room crying --and i hated mario for that for a solid month or so--. now im just starting college and both my siblings have careers, degrees, and are moving out, so we don't see each other that much but this game reminds me of sitting together with them shooting the shit. super mario wahoo
The Thousand Year Door remake is simply INCREDIBLE. Such an amazing and fun adventure! Happy to see Alpha's Supercut on it is here. My favorite memory to the game is beating Bonetail After just the third Chapter on my First ever playthrough!
this is the best upload i've ever seen on my recommended LOL i watch all of alpharad's supercuts like twice a year and ttyd is one of my favorite mario games if not my favorite and as a professional alpharad and ttyd glazer i feel like a baby with a tub of ice cream
What made me fall in love with this game is just how much I've always wanted to play Thousand Year Door. So it was a sort of wish fulfillment to finally play it as a remake. I don't really know how to describe why I enjoyed it so much besides that the game just has so much character. And the characters have so much character, they feel more like teammates than just tools to do more damage (cept Flurry, never used her after her introduction. She's just kind of meh). Kid Yoshi all the way, he was my guy! Also, this game was the Paper Mario that Bug Fables took inspiration from and I love Bug Fables.
This game is genuinely my game of the year 2024, and my experience with it was not knowing why everyone was so hyped for it in the direct, and after playing to almost 100%, I get it now.
I grew up with older brothers who loved Nintendo, so naturally I would always bother them by coming into their room and watch them play video games on their giant box TV. Since this game had multiple save slots, I'd get a chance to play myself when I was lucky (and they were feeling nice). I believe it was the first 'hard' game (as a very young non-gamer) that I ever beat on my own, without coming to them to beat the hard bosses for me. Years later, when they moved out, one took most of the games with him to another state, so I couldn't play it anymore. But seeing this trailer and hearing about it, I bought a copy IMMEDIATELY after finding it online. I associate this game with my brothers and the simpler times, just being an annoying little sister wanting to spend time with her cool older brothers, which is why this remake was so special to me. Things have come full circle, as I watched my brother stream his playthrough a while back when it was still new! I felt like that same little kid again ❤ As for game aspects, my favorite chapters were Glitz Pit, Twilight Town, and Poshley Heights! I remember always using the Art Attack star power; I don't know why, but it's my favorite one out of all of them. My yoshi ended up orange, and I named him Cheddar
I was born a little before the Wii era so I never got to play Thousand Year Door and was curious what they put in the water for this game to become an instant favorite of anyone who played. So I picked up the remake day 1 and after the month I played it, I get it now. Fun characters in an overall engaging story, awesome battle system, very rich overworld, stellar music, this game has it all. I will say, chapters 6 & half of 7 weren't that great and that kinda lost me a bit but the second half of 7 and 8 more than drew me back in. Fantastic game I would love to play again someday.
I never played this one. But I DID play the super mario bros RPG, the one with the bean kingdom. I had to go on a long flight and played it the whole time, when I was like...five or six years old? I never beat it, but I liked it a lot.
That'd be Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga on the Gameboy Advance! A fantastically charming RPG. Definitely a good pick-up from your parents, considering your age at the time LOL.
This game evaded me for so long, like outside of color splash this is the only Mario RPG I’ve never gotten to play (I did actually played a little bit of color splash but I never got to finish it cause my Wii U broke). The experience of plaything this for the first time was absolutely MAGICAL, I loved it so much, and I’m so glad that I have the opportunity to play it anytime again in the future.
if you aren't averse to let's plays, i'd say color splash is a better watch than playing it. i like that game a lot, the writing is witty, the music is great, and it's a very pretty game (probably my favorite in the series visually), but the combat is just not in depth enough to sustain the entire game. though, if you enjoyed sticker star even slightly, you'll probably enjoy color splash since it cuts out most of the more bullshit aspects of sticker star.
When I saw this as the last announcement the one Nintendo Direct....I about damn near cried. This is literally one of my favorite games ever...on top of the GameCube being a big part of my childhood in general...This and Animal Crossing are what p much got me into gaming lol
Unrelated, but every time I hear the word "freak", I just think of Pikkon from DBZ, when he went, "DISGUSTING FREAK!", and that just lives rent free in my head.
TTYD was probably my first experience with a RPG, and aside from that I love Paper Peach so much, and this might have also been the first game I was actually kind of good at and could play on my own without neeeding my older brothers lol. That's why TTYD is special to me. And I'm so glad to see a nice long video :)
My first experience with this game was this remake a year ago, and it was phenomenal. I am currently doing a biography on shigeru miamoto for school and I will do a chapter of this game just for the fun. I would just want to share I got the black yoshi for my playthrough (i specifically tried for the time) and named it lil boop.
Honestly, seeing someone play a game with a smile the entire time has to be my favorite part of these types of videos. It's kind of like how a teacher is passionate about what they do, and it helps the kids learn. In this case, it's really cool for the audience as well. Even in games that you don't like, I still find myself laughing and having a good time. Great video, I'm watching this entire thing while finishing up those fancy finals.
Its so freaking weird like, there are so many games I absolutely adore but for some reason this specific one just randomly makes me smile out of nowhere at absolutely nothing. The presentation (both the original and the remake) is just so freaking insanely good from start to finish.
I was watching on my second monitor and seeing Peach talk about Grodus's plans and then the entire Pit of 100 Trials thing briefly made me forget he had only just completed chapter *4* and that we weren't just hitting the final area
at a buffet, i personally sneak corndogs into the buffet so others can enjoy them. I hide 6 corndogs in my jacket pockets. it then, is a joy for me to see other patrons of the establishment eat my corndogs thinking they were part of the buffet.
I played this game for the first time earlier this year just a wee bit before the remake was announced and it was so incredible. It was shocking to me how much content a game this old had as well. Makes me realize after only playing the newer paper marios why people love the older ones so much (I still have a lot of love for the newer ones :).
I love this game because I played it with my older brother growing up. Now that we both live in different continents, it's hard for us to connect over games. As soon as this was announced I called him and we talked for hours about memories of the original. Playing it again as an adult was so special, and I even found myself getting emotional at times. We were sad to learn the Flavio glitched had been patched out as that was one of the best memories of my childhood. But this remake is everything I could have ever wanted and more
TTYD is the first game I ever completely finished all on my own (other than Pokemon). It was a big deal to me and my older brother was SHOCKED I got through the final boss fight deathless. This game holds such a special spot in my heart 🥺❤️
Good taste. TTYD is far from the first game i played, but it's the first game i obsessed over. I remember stopping by the book section of Walmart to read the official guide book every time we visited before I got the game for Christmas
the first thing i think of when i see this game is Arin from game grumps doing his Grubba voice lmfaooo love to see a supercut! great to watch after a long shift.
Omg an almost 3 hour Alpharad video on my favorite childhood game?? This is a really nice early Christmas present. THANK YOU FOR THE LOVE I KNOW YOU PUT INTO THIS.
33:35 This was so mean. You can’t fathom how often I rewinded to find the yawn. I kept thinking maybe I was doing something wrong, maybe I blinked, but no, it was NEVER THERE
After wading through blood, viscera and the broken bodies of my enemies in POE and every other GRIMDARK rpg ever, it just feels so nice to just boot up paper mario and EVERYTHING IS SO CUTE OMG OMG I feel you, Jacob. TYD is my favorite gamecube title.
I’m gonna watch the video soon but I need to respond to “how much this game means so much to me” or something like that at the start Ttyd genuinely changed my life in the best ways possible, I remember hearing so much good stuff about it as a kid and wanting to try it out, and seeing the game at a flea market I begged for it immediately Went home admiring the disc like it was a dream come true, and when I played it… it was incredible I think it was the first game I played that I actually payed attention to the story since my little child brain was actually interested in every bit, and it was the first time I ever had a crush (love you still Vivian) Really Vivian herself is who changed my life completely, her whole story of leaving the people who have wronged you for people who genuinely care about you and have helped you, it’s something I needed in my life, and learning that she was trans in other languages was what I needed myself to learn about my identity and the things I was myself and I’m so much happier for it I’ll stop yapping but ttyd and Vivian mean so much to me it’s amazing and I cried and sobbed when the ttyd remake was announced, it meant so incredibly much to me and I’m very happy it’s a real thing now
As a trans woman who grew up having Vivian be my favorite party member even before I realized I was trans, them restoring her identity in this made me so happy
People say "A computer can't fall in love with a human. No matter how advanced the AI is, it doesn't have human instincts." But these people haven't considered the awful truth. When Grodus created TEC, he must have used human brains as cheap computational material. That's also why they kill TEC instead of just doing a factory reset and dumping the memory. They never had complete control of TEC's memory. TEC isn't even true AI. Just some vat of interconnected human brains, conditioned to have no individual identity beyond being Grodus's loyal computer, but always quietly yearning to become human again.
When I was a kid, I watched so many playthroughs of TTYD on UA-cam and was enthralled with every aspect of the game. Gameplay, characters, story, graphics, music, all of it was a joy to watch, and it still is now. Here’s hoping for a brand new game that follows in the success of this remake! 💙
this is my absolute favorite game and it genuinely brought me so much joy to get to be able to re-experience it with the remake. i long ago lost count how many times i played the original version on GameCube, and i still go back to it periodically. this game is what made me love rpgs and led me to so many other of my favorite games.
for a good 15 minutes I thought "I wonder why Alpha put edits on his Vods? thats so weird" and then realized this is NOT in fact the vod channel anyways that was an awesome watch. love your content alpha!!
This was the 1st game I ever played that took more than a couple hours to beat and I had to borrow it from a friend. I remember playing this on the wii with a memory card and game I borrowed. I thought it was rose-colored glasses for a bit in my teens, then I played a rom version and I couldn’t believe how well the combat had aged!!!! This game has shaped my comedy and love for video games and I could not ask for a better remake, I literally smiled for a week straight thinking about this remake. THEN, this remake came out as I got dumped while I was abroad and it made me feel like a kid again. 10/10 could not love a game more (I forgot to say that it was also the first walkthrough I watched on youtube, and now ChuggaConroy’s voices for these characters live in my brain along with CHEAAAAAPPPPPPTAAARRRRRR _____)
Wow you made it political (that’s what Twitter said when he said that right? IDK I don’t use Twitter and only know about it from Gold/ Platinum) This may not affect me in any way but I’m still going to wine about the sexuality of another person because I have no life!
Thousand Year Door is one of my favorite games of all time and when the remake was announced, I was over the moon! And the remake didn't even ruin anything like remakes sometimes do! Definitely the gold standard when it comes to remakes. You should do challenge runs of it.

Remake cons:
-No "End of Chapter" text smh
Counter being easier.
2 extra boss fights (and a badge duplication glitch that actually works but needs a lot of Pianta Coin grinding)
I'd say the biggest issue is not being able to skip text, actually.
- The Bowser Jewel Gag no longer having highlighted text and the Item Get fanfare

Damn the bots really are getting desperate now huh

@@gwanael34It’s a bot, don’t interact with it.
Shadpw Queen definitely awakened something in me
Hooktail fearing crickets was one of many cases of Nintendo undoing changes they made for the western release of thousand year door. If i'm not mistaken, originally, it was frogs. The badge noise is from a japanese species of frog which us westerners wouldn't really recognize as a frog sound. So they changed the dialogue to crickets!
And then they undid it for the remake xd
Mario gets the ladies and men cause he's a good listener

And i love when you and Jo softlock Paper Mario: The thousand year door on -plus- -deluxe- -gold- platinum

I remember this game SOOOO fondly, the remake was absolutely peak.
Still sad they changed the final screens in each chapter, there was something magical about every letter of “END OF CHAPTER” being punched into the screen, like we were following along some kind of tale or story…
It was like we were on a trip at a park where we visit vendors that will stamp our little passport after we complete our trip.
For the love of God, please give us more long supercuts. My day-to-day life is basically fueled by Jerma Long Edits and I need more.
Thats neat actually
I can’t believe I had to hear you ask “why do they be smooshing Mario?” Dude’s a hero, a legend, a kind soul, Vivian even changed sides cause he’s got that gold heart, it’s hard for them girls to not wanna kiss him
Also if you didn’t see it, there’s a detail where Vivian literally smiles when she pulls Mario into the shadows but frowns when she has to let him out, truly the sign of someone who knows who their heart yearns for
My friend gave me his copy of this game a month before he passed away from a seizure.

That implies that Koopley was able to get Hooktail down to her last phase, in a straight 1v1 with no partners. And since the badge was in the dungeons instead of with him, it implies he did so without the Frog Sfx badge either.

Its insane that vivian is a thing that just. Exists. Having a character in a Mario game of all things just randomly go "oh by the way I'm trans" is so cool
And the best part is that it's NEVER mentioned again after that one part and the story goes as normal
The only ones making a big deal out of it (like in the bad way, I mean) aren't even the characters in-game and I love this game for it (among other stuff)
And yet somehow the denialists are still doing their gooberhood. Wild levels of silliness.

“The Rawk Hawk’s Sock” killed me
I never played this one growing up and when I love a game,(the original paper mario) I get stubborn and make excuses to not like a game more but this game was extremely fun and became my favourite.

Jacob’s right: revisiting this a decade and a half later, and suddenly a lot of the things I’m into make sense
the name thing on chapter 4 actually ties up nicely with the identity themes of the chapter 4 narrative, especially with vivian being trans uwu

I had NO IDEA that this fight even existed, never came to my mind to attack the friendly boos, I just avoided them.
1:03:40 mmm the doopliss motif here is such a nice touch
29:04 good save Alpharad
This game is genuinely my game of the year 2024, and my experience with it was not knowing why everyone was so hyped for it in the direct, and after playing to almost 100%, I get it now.

i love the reactions to the super bosses :D
this entire video was really well edited, looooved it
I grew up with older brothers who loved Nintendo, so naturally I would always bother them by coming into their room and watch them play video games on their giant box TV. I felt like that same little kid again ❤
As for game aspects, my favorite chapters were Glitz Pit, Twilight Town, and Poshley Heights!
You mean Superstar saga. Yep, that one`s a banger
Ohhhh Superstar Saga! God I loved that game.
I really like how they have the unique speech sounds from the newer games instead of just one single speech sound like the original

I played this game for the first time earlier this year just a wee bit before the remake was announced and it was so incredible. It was shocking to me how much content a game this old had as well. Makes me realize after only playing the newer paper marios why people love the older ones so much (I still have a lot of love for the newer ones :).
This is, in fact, everything I had hoped to see in a video from you. Thanks Jacob.

I’m gonna watch the video soon but I need to respond to “how much this game means so much to me” or something like that at the start
Ttyd genuinely changed my life in the best ways possible, I remember hearing so much good stuff about it as a kid and wanting to try it out, and seeing the game at a flea market I begged for it immediately
Went home admiring the disc like it was a dream come true, and when I played it… it was incredible
I think it was the first game I played that I actually payed attention to the story since my little child brain was actually interested in every bit, and it was the first time I ever had a crush (love you still Vivian)
Really Vivian herself is who changed my life completely, her whole story of leaving the people who have wronged you for people who genuinely care about you and have helped you, it’s something I needed in my life, and learning that she was trans in other languages was what I needed myself to learn about my identity and the things I was myself and I’m so much happier for it
I’ll stop yapping but ttyd and Vivian mean so much to me it’s amazing and I cried and sobbed when the ttyd remake was announced, it meant so incredibly much to me and I’m very happy it’s a real thing now
i can't believe ttyd predicted everyone giving their power and wishes to Luigi the future is bright
I am here for the trans representation!! It feels good for it to be confirmed and not a "translation error" anymore
Mario really said trans rights
@bloodmuzzle which is huge because he doesn't say much of anything

I’ve never played this game and just started the video but your joy is intoxicating ❤

29:00 Don't take what he says out of contexts, continues to say so. Missed those moments.
10/10 could not love a game more
(I forgot to say that it was also the first walkthrough I watched on youtube, and now ChuggaConroy’s voices for these characters live in my brain along with CHEAAAAAPPPPPPTAAARRRRRR _____)
THREE HOURS OF MY FAVORITE BISEXUAL LETS FUCKING GO
Wow you made it political (that’s what Twitter said when he said that right? IDK I don’t use Twitter and only know about it from Gold/ Platinum) This may not affect me in any way but I’m still going to wine about the sexuality of another person because I have no life!

This game is everything I want from a game, the characters, story and humour are all top tier. So glad the remake did the original justice so well
I have a lot of good memories of this game! Me and my cousin played the hell out of it as kids.
OG paper mario on the N64 is what I grew up on (I'm old, meh). Love the series!
It was so fun to watch you play through TTYD!! I especially loved your commentary on the secret bosses, that was a lot of fun to see!
Thousand Year Door is one of my favorite games of all time and when the remake was announced, I was over the moon!
And the remake didn't even ruin anything like remakes sometimes do! Definitely the gold standard when it comes to remakes.
You should do challenge runs of it.
