Do you know the funniest part? The wiki has one extra scrap that y’all forgot: an employee’s body. So technically, you lot still needed a sacrifice. One that a certain shotgun was all too eager to provide.
That shotgun situation is insane! At least the moderators accepted your run, I would have just cried if after nine hours I lost a run on something like that with nothing to show for it.
I think with this long of a run, 4 different povs, a checklist of items collected, and this unlikely of a situation for the run to end, it would be insane for the moderators to assume they were trying to cheat by lying that they got everything...
@@filval387 it isn't really about intent to cheat, it's more so just based on what the rules are. in the case of this run, the rules state that time is when you get the last item. the laying them all out is just to make the mods' jobs easier by confirming they have all the items - otherwise, as in this case, they have to watch through the whole thing from multiple perspectives and confirm for themselves.

In a smaller length speed run, it wouldn't be hard to imagine someone could omit a few of the items to collect and pretend some unfortunate death happened before they could show the confirmation, all to have a better time.

Like you said it's possible someone could try to lie, but also someone could just mess up and not realize they were missing something. The point of laying everything out is to confirm it for them. This ridiculous death just meant the mods had to do extra work of verifying it themselves by looking at all the footage. Every speedrun on the site has to be verified by a moderator before it's put on the leaderboard regardless of how crazy it would seem for it to be illegitimate.
Honestly the insane death makes the run even more special and unique, it fucking sucked in the moment but looking back on it it's such an unlikely chain of events that it elevates the whole experience

The ending is an excellent demonstration of the Murphy’s Law - “Anything that can go wrong will go wrong” The foreshadowing for that moment moons prior is literally Chekhov’s gun. Absolute cinema.

I haven't watched the VOD and I audibly gasped and covered my mouth when it happened just in this video. I was so concerned for their run! I can't imagine what it must've been like in the VOD or live.
That ending with the shotgun going off was the most unlucky and insane I think I've ever seen. Like the fact that it was perfectly placed and fired in the ONE SECOND you all were not invincible was just absurd. Also GL with the gtfo editing, and with actually beating gtfo lol.
That Shotgun was a true non-believer. Thankfully the mods of the speedrun still accepted it, but I feel like the shotgun going off right there does make it the best museum% out of every other completion.

That shotgun laid directly in a line to hit everyone on the ship perfectly timing itself to that 1 second window after sitting there for half an hour inert is the perfect counter to all the insane luck you got just finding the exact items you needed in 2 seconds. What goes up, must come down, I suppose.
Getting insane drop rates on loot before getting team-wiped by a perfectly timed shotgun is the _epitome_ of streamer luck. Not good luck, not bad luck, but the luck of only getting incredibly rare occurrences.

On my first run in the update that added the zed dog, I managed to hit the absurdly rare chance to get ONLY zed dogs as the scrap. This was on march as well so whatever the other math comes out to (march is a Lower chance, that’s kinda wild). I was so confused because I was like “what did they do to the game why is there so much valuable scrap everywhere?” Turns out I was just insane. 1:55 The math is slightly off, you can’t just multiply the chance by the number of times you roll it for an accurate figure. The easiest way to find the actual chance would be to find the chance of NOT finding the item, and subtracting that from 100%. So 1 - 0.0012 = 0.9988 (chance of not finding the item on any given item roll), then 0.9988^15 = 0.98215 (for not rolling the item 15 times in a row), then subtract that from 1 to get 0.01784958… or ~1.785%
Glad I checked to see if anyone else noticed before I left my comment. That being said, I think the approximation is quite good when the value you end up with is less than 0.1 (within 0.005 of the true value)

In case anyone is curious on some math, Taking the average amount of items on Assurance being 14, Getting a Zed on Assurance = (1-0.9988^14)*100% = 1.66% How many attempts until the odds are favoured to get Zed(>50%) = ln(0.5)/ln(1-0.0166) = 41.4 On average, a person is likely to get Zed starting from the 42 visit to Assurance. That is if checking EVERY ITEM. EVERY TIME. Insane.

I have a clip from the very first challenge moon titled "MEGA KILL" where a nutcracker came into main while all four of us were scattered in the room, and with one shotgun blast, we were all simultaneously, instantaneously blown to bits. it's one of my favorite lethal clips I have to date, second only to the clip of me literally laughing so hard at something that I fully passed out. we never underestimated a shotgun again and now we triple check that every shotgun has the safety ON before they're set down in the ship

I have a clip from the very first challenge moon titled "MEGA KILL" where a nutcracker came into main while all four of us were scattered in the room, and with one shotgun blast, we were all simultaneously, instantaneously blown to bits. it's one of my favorite lethal clips I have to date, second only to the clip of me literally laughing so hard at something that I fully passed out. we never underestimated a shotgun again and now we triple check that every shotgun has the safety ON before they're set down in the ship
