I miss my baby terribly but this song helps the pain not hurt so much. My insufferable addiction to crystal meth for 14yrs now is what took him away by children service. I had Bex-Lee at the age of 39 and 3weeks after his thunder my supposed best friend called children service made false statements against me had the intention of stealing my baby to help fix her already doomed relationship for 3days all I could do was cry and self medicate ontop my dirty laundry hill in my one bedroom walkin closet. It made it so hard to feel anything but his absence after carrying him for nine months in the end I decided to give him up in hopes of him having a healthy lifestyle with a sober mom and dad to give him what I can't I still suffer in addiction and continue to try find my way through the woods of addiction and loss.❤thank you

I remember being little bitty & my Momma singing this to me at bath time. I've always remembered it. My mother passed away July 31st of 2015 from Breast Cancer. She was home on hospice care. The day before she passed away, it was just her & I in the room. She was heavily medicated with morphine. I held her hand & started singing this to her. Even though heavily medicated, she sang with me. I told her how proud I was of her. Just a few short hours later, she passed. God I miss her.

I still make her sing this to me as an adult sometimes and sit in her lap in her rocking recliner. she isn't as tough as she used to be so I feel I'm going to hurt her. Her voice has aged as well. she used to sound angelic but I feel it sounds even more beautiful now that it has aged and you can her that slight little crackle. I have the lyrics tattooed around my calf with a beautiful tribal style sunshine. At formal events and what not I notice people staring at it like they are disgusted. They always ask me about it once caught to try to make it seem as though they weren't grimacing in disgust but instead bc they can read it. lol. When I explain it to them they ALL tell me stories about someone dear in their life singing it to them. There is honestly no memory that stands out more to me or that I could possibly cherish more than my granny singing this song! My parents were going through a divorce when my granny started singing this to me all of the time. I like to think that she was afraid she wouldn't see me as often and didn't want to loose me :(

My Aunt used to sing this to me as a baby and young child and it holds so much meaning to me. She just recently passed away and I can feel her in this song. It truly brings me to tears. I remember being little bitty & my Momma singing this to me at bath time. I've always remembered it. My mother passed away July 31st of 2015 from Breast Cancer. She was home on hospice care. The day before she passed away, it was just her & I in the room. She was heavily medicated with morphine. I held her hand & started singing this to her. Even though heavily medicated, she sang with me. I told her how proud I was of her. Just a few short hours later, she passed. God I miss her.

I think Chris Stapleton and Sturgill Simpson are the new reemerging face of country music.. they are reminiscent of the good old " Outlaw" and just great sound that I grew up listening to from the late 70s to mid 80s .. Waylon,Willie, Johnny, Merle Haggard,.. And also I want to say this is the first time I have gotten to hear Morgan's Stapleton sing fully outside of being a backup.. and she is a talent of her own right..

My grandmother loved to sing when she washed dishes and remember her singing this song slow like this as Morgane does. Sent chills up my spine and had a damn good flashback of those times from the 50's.
houdinibat1 oooohhhhhhh my sweet angel of a granny too! washing the dishes, cooking one of her three meals a day, or rocking me to sleep......she sang it very slow. I still make her sing this to me as an adult sometimes and sit in her lap in her rocking recliner. she isn't as tough as she used to be so I feel I'm going to hurt her. Her voice has aged as well. she used to sound angelic but I feel it sounds even more beautiful now that it has aged and you can her that slight little crackle. I have the lyrics tattooed around my calf with a beautiful tribal style sunshine. At formal events and what not I notice people staring at it like they are disgusted. They always ask me about it once caught to try to make it seem as though they weren't grimacing in disgust but instead bc they can read it. lol. When I explain it to them they ALL tell me stories about someone dear in their life singing it to them. There is honestly no memory that stands out more to me or that I could possibly cherish more than my granny singing this song! My parents were going through a divorce when my granny started singing this to me all of the time. I like to think that she was afraid she wouldn't see me as often and didn't want to loose me :(
